We hired Dutcher Photography for our wedding & we could not have been more pleased. We reached out to multiple photographers in the Madison area & they were first to respond. After our call with Sam we were immediately sold based on her bubbly personality & incredible knowledge of the craft.
Day of was perfect! My parents were so impressed with how well Sam did to get my nieces to smile for photos. I’ve shown so many people our photos and everyone was beyond impressed with the lighting & overall look of each photo. I would recommend them to any couple. An added bonus they are very queer friendly. -

Wonderful Photographers
Dutcher Photography did a wonderful job with our engagement and wedding photos. Not only were all the pictures wonderful but they made us feel very comfortable and made the experience of being photographed enjoyable. They also help you with your day of timeline so planning is easier. They were even incredibly flexible when we had to move our ceremony date back by a year. Overall a great experience and we highly recommend them. -

As someone who worked within the wedding industry, I had seen a wide array of vendors throughout the years. When it came to my own day, Sam stood above the rest as one of the easiest professionals I ever worked with.
Sam is not only creative and talented, but an all- around skilled businesswoman. She made the day flawlessly easy when it came to our photographs. Leading up to it, she was always available to be reached, was prompt, kept our time as succinct as we had needed, and surprised us in her speed!
By the following morning, we already had several photos to cherish and share. It was approximately a week later before she finished editing all of our gallery, which made us feel as though we were of the highest priority.
There is truly no critique we could offer. We highly recommend Sam to photograph any special day for you as well. -

Sam was a joy to work with. For context, my husband and I are both a bit introverted. Sam was so engaging and approachable throughout the process from quote to onsite work to final delivery. At the wedding, I felt like the time for the couples photos really enhanced the day overall. Sam gave great direction, and it was just a quiet break in a bustling day- having fun with my favorite person. Sam did such an amazing job capturing our joy. I cannot help but smile looking at these photos. They are 100% us, so candid, and so beautiful. -

My husband and I are SO glad we went with Dutcher Photography for our wedding. From the start, Sam met with us and helped come up with our day-of schedule, and was always so responsive if we ever had questions. Then on the wedding day, her and Rob were fantastic to work with. They were fun, funny, and really efficient, which kept us running on time or even a little bit ahead of schedule. They both have a gift for capturing the perfect candid shots of people laughing and smiling, which was important to us and a big reason we chose them in the first place. By midnight of our wedding day, Sam sent over some sneak peek shots. And then by the Thursday after (literally 5 days after our wedding), we got all of the photos back and they turned out amazing. Pricewise I'd say they came in around average for the Madison area, maybe even a little on the low end given their experience.
Lastly, as a gay couple, having photographers who made us feel comfortable and safe was really important for us, and we couldn't have been more comfortable with Sam and Rob. HIGHLY, highly recommend. -

I can’t recommend enough!! We would’ve paid twice what we did for the quality of photos and the people taking them. It was really nice to have a supportive calm knowledgeable photographer as a part of our day. We hired Dutcher after I ran across them on the Knot's Vendor section and I fell in love with the work in their Website gallery from other weddings. I knew I had to have them capture our wedding right away. The packages seemed very expensive until I compared with a few other vendors in our area, and discovered they were not only amazing photographers but reasonably priced as well. Sam was great and really captured the feelings and emotion of our wedding, and had unbelievable locations & ideas for photos that I would have never dreamed up.

Sometimes I see other peoples’ wedding photos and all I can think is, “Should have used Dutcher!” Seriously, the best. Engagement photos and wedding photos were an excellent selection of candid and posed shots and the whole vibe of the moments was captured. -

Even before we had signed the contract Sam was amazing at helping us create a reasonable timeline for our wedding day. She was responsive in a super timely manner with any communication we needed before AND after. Seriously we got all of our photos in less than a week!! The day of Rob and Sam kept everything moving as quickly as possible and Sam had helped us add just enough buffer that we got some bonus pictures and were still running ahead of schedule. Both Rob and Sam made us feel relaxed and comfortable while still capturing images that are so "us". No regrets, hoping to never have to plan another wedding but if I did I would totally hire them again!! -

To say that Dutcher Photography is amazing would be a huge understatement. Sam helped us in planning every step of the way as we started our wedding journey. From the beginning she offered to point us in the right direction of vendors, what to expect each step of the way, and offered above and beyond services (asking if we need water, anything day of, etc. THATS service). The shots for our engagement session turned out beautifully, and the wedding day photos couldn’t have been any better. We were told at the end of the night to expect the wedding gallery within 2-4 weeks, and within 48hrs I got the “your photos are ready” email! I was beyond impressed and couldn’t say enough amazing things about this business. I already have, and will continue to, recommend them for all your photo needs. -

When I started looking for a photographer, I knew I wanted photos that looked like they belonged in an art gallery. In a world of light and airy photography styles, they stood out to me as the timeless art type photos that I wanted. Their prices match the value of the product and the professionalism they conduct themselves with. Our wedding was an unfortunate victim to the pandemic and Sam worked with us to come up with a package for our significantly paired down wedding that worked. At a time that was particularly stressful for me, I knew I could lean on them to help provide good advice for the entire wedding - not just the photographs. I would hire them 1,000 times over. Sam photographed our elopement in July of 2020. My Husband and I originally planned to get married in October, but with the COVID19 pandemic, we decided to change our plans. Sam was very accommodating, considering I reached out less than four weeks before our wedding date. She was always very communicative and made the whole process easy. During our wedding, she was an absolute joy to work with, making us feel as comfortable as possible by sharing stories of past weddings and having us play fun photo games. Even after the pictures were done, Sam's wonderful customer service persisted. She provided a generous number of sneak peak photos on the day of our wedding and was able to get the full set back to us in less than 3 weeks. I will always recommend Dutcher Photo to my Wisconsin friends. -

Sam helped me to plan out first look photos for my wedding day, and got some really beautiful images. She also suggested first look photos with our daughter, which came out absolutely adorable. She had a blog page put up by that night, which was so wonderful to go through, and had the pictures finished and to me within a couple days - much quicker than other photographers had told us they could do. There were SO MANY photos too! -

I never thought I would have said that weeks before my wedding... but boy I sure am! My original photographer bailed on me weeks before my wedding. Dutcher photography was recommended by a friend on Facebook. I check out their insta instantly knew they were the one. Sam was able to book us on VERY short notice and told me how much she loved doing weddings. She was so helpful with literally everything! I even got sneak peeks back before I even got home from our wedding!!! -

Talented and Fun!
We were thrilled with our wedding photos and had a great experience working with Sam. I had Sam do family portraits for us a while back and knew Dutcher Photography would be our choice for our wedding and they did not disappoint! We were working within a budget and wanted something simple but fun. Sam was extremely flexible and worked with us to find a wedding package that best met our needs. She also offered great advice and guidance on wedding and reception venues. She captured some absolutely magical moments on our day. We are very happy to have worked with her and will definitely look to work with Dutcher Photography in the future. Highly recommend! -

Both Sam and Rob are exceptional human beings and photographers. From the moment Jason and I met Sam, she was friendly and insightful. She made us feel comfortable and offered solid advice. It felt like we were meeting up with an old friend every time we met up to discuss the wedding. She also helped us feel very confident in doing things our own way, in fact, she encouraged it. Rob was also a delight! Many jokes and silly stories were shared at our wedding to keep us feeling comfortable. Also, they were more than accommodating when life threw us curve balls causing us to reschedule our engagement photos multiple times. They were very professional, punctual, and just plain knew what they were doing. The two of them together were a great team and we would hire them again in a second.

Sam and Rob were incredible. We knew we wanted to work with them after the first phone call. From the start, Sam was organized and professional, yet kind and reassuring like a friend. On our wedding day, the photography was seamless and honestly, the last thing on our minds - which for us, was exactly what we wanted. We were able to be in the moment with Sam and Rob doing ninja work in the background. With some of the more formal shots, Sam and Rob easily had us laughing and feeling natural in front of the camera. We are so happy with how the photos turned out, and Sam also had them to us SO quickly! She put together a sneak peak just the day after our wedding - which was amazing! The rest of the photos came within just a few weeks too!
I can't recommend Dutcher Photography highly enough! Definitely work with them if you have the chance. -

We couldn’t have been happier with Sam at Dutcher Photography. We knew we wanted to meet with her after seeing how good the pictures were on Dutcher Photography’s website. Our wedding budget wasn’t that big, but we had our minds made up about having her as our photographer before we were even done with our initial meeting. We were so relieved - she made the decision very easy! We could tell right away how passionate she is about her work, and we were immediately impressed with her professionalism and expertise on weddings and wedding photography. 1.) Their portfolio of work seemed to capture so much Joy.
2.) We were confident that, because of their experience, everything would go smoothly.
3.) We had so much interpersonal chemistry.
We are 100% happy on all points! We have an album that captures the depth of happiness we felt from everyone we love who made it to our wedding. Rob and Sam were flexible, fast in responding, and organized in letting us know what they needed from them. They have a wealth of knowledge about weddings (even outside of photography), and were able to point us to resources when we needed. It's also telling that, when we asked our wedding party what their favorite part of the day was, many of them said hanging out together with the photographer before we went out for our portraits!
We used them for our engagement session and our wedding - and, I can confidently say, we'll use them again if we can for any portraits we have in the future! -

Jen Sent on 06/22/2018My husband said he was glad I pushed for a professional photographer. Sam and Rob are a dream team. Prior to the wedding, I had several e-mail conversations with Sam asking for advice and suggestions for our casual-ish wedding. She provided a draft timeline and offered great suggestions on timing based on her experience. I met both Sam and Rob the day of the wedding and they had a very fun/calm vibe. They were great with my step daughters and niece.
They wrangled all the cats effortlessly during the family photo sessions. I wanted a lot of candid photos and they delivered. They fit in like family, and were sneaky like ninjas in capturing memories. If your future spouse is hesitant about paying a lot of money for photos, talk to Sam. She provided a great overview on the time that is involved to produce the final product. We received sneak peak photos a few days after the wedding, more photos a few weeks later and then the entire e-album a month later. Many of the photos look like they came from a magazine. Sam and Rob have a true gift for capturing wonderful memories. -

Owners/Photographers Sam & Rob are fabulous--professional, organized, reliable, creative, supportive, open-minded, and a joy to work with. We worked with Dutcher Photography for our engagement photos & wedding day/night--we absolutely treasure the photos! Sam and Rob accommodated all of our needs/wants, and made us and our wedding party feel comfortable throughout all of the photos (no easy feat!). Summer Sent on 08/25/2016We are so lucky we had Sam as our wedding photographer. The pictures she captured were absolutely amazing! She was so professional, easy to work with, fun, and full of great ideas. We were really impressed with how flexible she was, as our day turned out to be a crazy rain storm. We had to completely revise the entire line up of pictures from first look, to how to fit 200 people in one picture, and she did it!! Sam also was extremely helpful leading up to our wedding, offering advice and tips. The engagement photo shoot was also a lot of fun. I would highly reccomend Dutcher Photography!
