Dunes West was the only venue we looked at, and we instantly knew this was where we wanted to have our wedding. Not only is the venue and the scenery stunning, but Jason and his team went above and beyond to make sure the day was everything we wanted. Leading up to wedding day, he was very responsive to all our requests and questions. We didn't have a day-of coordinator, and we didn't need one with how attentive and accommodating he was to our asks and our timeline, making sure everything went off without a hitch. I can't say enough good things about the Dunes West venue and team! We couldn't imagine a better wedding day.

As a bride, my ceremony and reception location was one of the BIGGEST if not most important aspects of my wedding day. I needed a venue that would take care of the food, drinks, linens, flatware, ceremony chairs, dancefloor...everything. And Dunes West does ALL of that and beyond! Jason Hanson, the Food & Beverage Director, is one of the kindest and most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He pulled so many strings to make my wedding dreams come true for the very limited budget I was given, and I am STILL getting compliments from guests on how much fun they had, how delicious the food was, and how beautiful the club was. He is always responsive to questions and will work with you closely on planning your day. On the day of my wedding, he was there all day and helped keep me calm right up until I was walking down the aisle. He is a saint and anyone would be lucky to work with him. His staff are wonderful and take care of you to the point where you really feel like a queen. Dunes West is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and I still can't believe I was lucky enough to get married there! Do yourself a favor and get married at the most gorgeous venue in Charleston! I can't recommend them enough! Thank you Jason and thank you Dunes West!!!

If I could give Jason and his team 10 stars I would. I threw so much at him throughout the year of us planning this wedding and he was so accommodating. Our wedding was an absolute dream and they made sure everything ran smoothly. Not only that, they loved on us all day and made us feel so special. If you are starting your planning process, look no further. This venue is gorgeous, the staff is so professional and amazing and it's turn key. I wish I could relive the day over and over. Dunes West is incredibly underrated. Between the location and the price, you truly cannot beat it. The events coordinator, Jason, is so wonderful and easy to work with. Wedding of the Century
This place is a hidden gem!!! Literally everything about this place is perfect! We had a beautiful wedding without any hiccups and so much of it was due to Jason and his team! The first time I went there, I knew this was the place we would get married at. Jason immediately made me feel comfortable and confident because of his communication and his organization. He created a timeline and made sure his team was aware of the timing and their duties. He accommodated every request I made and executed a beautiful wedding! Also, the food was AMAZING!!! The first thing I hear from guests is either about the amazing food or the beautiful venue. Tons of my guests have mentioned that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to with equally amazing food! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this venue and Jason!! You need to get married here!!!!

My daughters wedding and reception was held at Dunes West Clubhouse on Oct. 20th. Jason and his staff were a dream to work with and the venue is fabulous! We can't say enough good things about Dunes West Golf Club! Jason and his staff for our wedding (Harry - Angela) were great! They made this wedding easy! Yes, I said easy! They took a lot of the stress off of us by being extremely coordinated and professional the whole way. It is a great relief when you use a venue and you know that they have it all under control. From day one to the final walk thru before the wedding it was a good feeling to know that things were going to go just fine and if there was any kind of hiccup (thank goodness there wasn't) they had the ability to quickly fix it. We used this venue for the rehearsal dinner for our son and daughter-in-law. We live out of town so we had to rely heavily on Jason. We could not have been more pleased. The venue, food, staff were exceptional. Jason is extremely easy to work with. He is very flexible and accommodating and offers great advice to help make your evening everything that you envisioned it to be. I would use this venue again without hesitation.

Picture Perfect Wedding Venue
Dunes West Golf Club was an absolutely perfect wedding venue! Jason Hanson and his team are professional, responsive, and were a true joy to work with. We had both the ceremony and reception at Dunes West, and since they provide chairs, linens, tables, and food, we didn't have to worry about finding a bunch of other vendors for those items. They couldn't have made planning any easier, and since they coordinate so many essential aspects of the ceremony and reception, we found that a day of coordinator wasn't even necessary. To top it all off, the venue is absolutely stunning, and Jason and his staff were very accommodating - we planned everything pre-pandemic, and rescheduled our wedding more times than I would like to admit, but Jason made the entire process stress-free. I 100% recommend this venue!!!

Magical, perfect, fairy tale wedding venue!!
Dunes West Golf & River Club was the first and only venue we toured. We were looking for a place that had beautiful oaks, near water if possible, that also had the option for an indoor reception for our (originally scheduled) May wedding. The ceremony sites under the oaks are what drew me to Dunes West, but our tour and meeting with Jason is what sold me! He's done literally hundreds of weddings and his experience SHOWS and SHINES. Dunes West takes care of the catering and bar, while giving you options within your budget (e.g., we purchased our own alcohol but served with all the mixers etc by Dunes West Staff). The venue is so stunning I didn't have to spend much time or effort on florals or decor -- the venue speaks for itself! My guests could not stop talking about two things: 1) how beautiful the place was and 2) how amazing the food was!! Having great food wasn't a huge priority on our must haves list, but the food here was incredible and a wonderful bonus for us!! We've had many guests say it's the best wedding food they've ever had!! The day/night of the wedding, everything went so incredibly smoothly, in large part because of the staff at Dunes West who clearly know what they're doing and do this a lot! Jason left mimosas for me and my girls in the bridal suite, which was so thoughtful. The staff rushed out to take orders and bring appetizers to the wedding party while they were taking pics during cocktail hour -- most of the time wedding party has to miss out on these festivities! My husband and I were whisked away to start our dinner before the rest of the guests, and had a magical, sweet, serene, alone moment to ourselves upstairs watching the sunset, and I cherish that so much in the midst of the rest of the hustle and bustle of the evening. I could go on and on, but there are so many things this venue does perfectly. I would recommend them a thousand times over. Do not pass up on this spot!!

We had such a wonderful wedding weekend at Dunes West. Jason was so wonderful to work with to plan the wedding & ceremony. He was so flexible and willing to help with everything! All the staff was so friendly and helpful! The food was SO good and the views are spectacular! I loved the bridal suite area, we had tons of room to get ready and I loved that we could see everything getting set up from our room. I definitely recommend this venue to everyone!!

Dunes West was absolutely the most perfect wedding venue!!! We had our ceremony at the Citadel but had our reception at Dunes West. Not only was it affordable, Jason was super amazing and fun to work with. He made sure we understood the wedding timeline, let us change whatever we wanted too, and let us try many options for food (which was all delicious). The venue has a beautiful view of the marsh and golf course and people were able to sit and walk around outside , on the upper porch and inside on two separate floors. Jason and Harry are professional and have done over 600 weddings so they know what they are doing. They provide food, drinks, silverware, chairs and tables (which most places don’t provide all of that). They made sure to accommodate every request we had and were happy to do it. My guests could NOT stop talking about the beautiful venue, the amazing view and the wonderful food. I could not have found a more perfect place in Charleston. I highly recommend dunes west. It was a fairytale !

We looked at around 10 venues in SC and California and are so glad we decided on Dunes West for our daughters wedding! Dunes West is simply phenomenal!! We were married there almost 2 months ago and we still can't stop talking about what an amazing experience we had. From the moment we scheduled our appointment to tour Dunes West, Jason put us at ease and we knew we were in good hands. The venue is perfection and was exactly what we were looking for: amazing southern food, breathtaking grounds with large oak trees and water views, gorgeous clubhouse and spectacular staff. Jason and Harry were so accommodating and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our dream wedding was flawless. The sunset there is so incredible and will give you the most beautiful pictures. We also had our rehearsal dinner in the courtyard the night before, and our guests still rave about how amazing the oysters were! We honestly can't say one negative thing about having our wedding here, so if you're looking in the Charleston area, this venue should be at the top of your list! It felt like a movie scene walking down the isle to my husband-to-be, and we will be forever grateful to Dunes West for giving us such a perfect weekend! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!

I can't say enough about the timeless beauty of this venue and the exceptional service provided by the staff. Gorgeous landscaping and classic architecture means very little decoration is needed to ensure a beautiful backdrop for such an important occasion. I can't say enough about the expertise, helpfulness & responsiveness of the staff. Jason is awesome!! Always promptly responsive to calls or emails, willing to cater to any special needs or requests, calming and knowledgeable. He will make sure every couple has the special day they've envisioned. Also, we still get tons of compliments on how delicious the food was. From the fried chicken to the greens to the shrimp and grits, it was yummy!! The dining captain catered to all of our needs and made sure we were well taken care of. As soon as our ceremony ended he was waiting for us with our favorite drinks and appetizers. You will feel like royalty on your wedding day. Just an all around excellent experience!!

Beautiful Wedding Venue
Choosing Dunes West as our venue was the first great decision we made for our wedding. From start to finish the staff, especially the main coordinator Jason Hanson, were such a pleasure to work with. They were very communicative and answered the many detailed questions I sent over email. On the day of, they were so helpful, even providing easels and small tables for my different signs. The food was amazing, and it was so easy to set up a tasting. Our guests raved about the food and are still talking about it. I was so glad I didn't have to shop around for a caterer or nickel and dime with an event coordinator about different plates and prices per spoon or anything like that. The staff was so great - they even noticed my husband and I getting a little overwhelmed during the reception and snuck us away for 5 minutes of quiet time - much appreciated! They had everything boxed up and ready for us to pick up the next day; I appreciated that my mom and family members didn't have to stay late after the wedding and pick up every last flower and candle. And not to mention, I think their prices are probably the most bang for your buck that you can get in Charleston. Loved this venue and would highly recommend!!

We had our wedding and reception at Dunes West on 31 Aug 2019 and it was a dream come true. The main coordinators and staff were so incredible. From a year out and from out of state, we had been communicating with Jason. He was incredible from the beginning flood of questions we had, scheduling tours, and up until the final moments before we left for the day. This place was absolutely wonderful for our Brunch Wedding. The views, food, and service were beyond exceptional. Jason serves as the head of the special events at Dunes West and you could not ask for a better person to work with. We loved everything the venue provided and if we had questions leading up to the event, Jason always worked with us and got back with us pretty quick. We planned the wedding from out of state and never had any stress or anxiety when dealing with Jason and the venue. Rehearsal dinner was also set up the night before and the BBQ was a hit. Jason let us leave stuff there and set up for the wedding early which was a huge help . Day of wedding, Jason made sure to check in on us and help us if we needed any last minute things and Harry served as out head Server and quickly became one of our favorite people. He made sure we were taken care of and never missed out on anything during the whole wedding day.

Deciding to get married at Dunes West was seriously one of the best decisions we made the entire wedding. Jason and Harry were there from day 1 to answer all of my questions and were so helpful and supportive the entire time! They did everything in there power to make things go smoothly! It was so nice to have a place to get dressed with full hair and make up, the ceremony, and the reception at the same location! When we signed our contract they gave us a suggested floor plan, time line, and menu selections and we just went to town with it. They accommodated changes we had to anything and even made special arrangements for a surprise for the groom. Any time I had a question, I always heard back from Jason the next day. They really make sure that everything is smooth and flawless the day of. They have been selected a best of by the Knot many times and, honestly, they deserve it! It was pouring down rain 20 minutes before our outdoor ceremony. The team never once pressured me to make a decision, the rain cleared and they were out in a flash wiping down all of the chairs. The food was wonderful and the whole event was perfectly orchestrated. There is honestly nowhere else we would ever consider- it was perfect! The whole team put me at ease and made our day that much more special.

It’s wonderful to work with people and teams that are passionate about their work. There was only happiness working with Jason and the staff at Dunes West. We chose Dunes West over every venue in Charleston/West Ashley because every person we spoke with had wonderful things to say about the people there and their execution of the perfect wedding. Dunes West lived up to their reputation in every aspect – it was perfect. As Mother of the Bride, I managed most of the details with Jason, their wedding director. He is an amazing, kind and generous man – humbly working with you to make your day the most special it can be and make your dreams come true. My daughter wanted some specifics for her day and Jason worked with us to plan, organize and discover how each aspect could be done without taking away from the dream but allowing the venue to do their best. We trusted him completely. Jason and his staff executed our combined plan flawlessly with kindness and great joy. We had the most beautiful wedding EVER. Our guests believed so as well with many emails/texts just gushing on the day. It was perfection from start to finish, the grounds, the set up, the food, the vendors, the drinks, and the staff. A thank you to Jason and his staff does not sound remotely enough for giving us a day of our lifetime. May God continue to shine upon them!!

Want to relieve some stress from the details of wedding planning? Dunes West Golf and River Club did just that for us! Talk about having it down to a science. Dunes West's venue offered a gorgeous setting for our wedding, which made for beautiful photos and their staff worked tirelessly to make the entire night run smoothly. They work hard to make the day special; even whisking you away for a private meal as husband & wife before the reception begins, if you wish. The guests couldn't stop talking about how great the food was and with all the options they give you, picking out the menu may be the hardest part! Jason helps to answer any of your questions or concerns and can offer recommendations if you're not quite sure the way you want to go. I could go on and on about the reasons why I would recommend this venue but it truly is a gorgeous setting and the best deal going in all of the Charleston area!

Jason and Dunes West were the best decisions we could have made for our wedding. Let me start with Jason. My parents actually found the venue, and I will never forget my dad saying – “This venue is absolutely beautiful, but the best part is Jason.” We had seen a lot of venues at this point and talked to a lot of people, so I figured this must be a special situation. Special, it was. The moment I met Jason, I knew just what my parents were talking about. Jason is not only incredibly kind, but he is also responsive to your every need, question and idea. He is the best in the business and made my family and I feel comfortable and excited about our wedding plans every single step of the way. When we were unsure of what we wanted, Jason helped suggest things but in a way that still let us bring the wedding to life in our own way. He set us up with a food tasting that is an experience I will remember with my husband and parents for the rest of my life. When the wedding day came, the chance of rain was pretty high. Even though we were worried, Jason put all of our worries at ease talking us through a perfect backup plan. When it didn’t rain, we went through with our original plan and the day was perfect. He is a calming presence that makes everything happen just the way you imagine. I could go on and on about Jason, but let me touch on the venue as well. The venue is perfect. It is so perfect, we did our rehearsal dinner and wedding there! The staff and food were phenomenal both nights. We got married by the water in front of the tree outside, and being end of May, it created shade and a breeze for our guests and bridal party. We then went indoor for our reception, and had a band and food upstairs and downstairs. It was perfect. It was truly the best day of my life, and I owe that to Jason and Dunes West. If I could do that day 100 times again (I wish I could), I would choose Jason and Dunes West every single time. We are so thankful for them!!!

The venue is amazing! Gorgeous ceremony site under the oak tree with water views. Jason at Dunes West is wonderful! He goes the extra mile to make your wedding day perfect. We had our daughter's wedding at Dunes West. We are from out of town (Ohio) and had to plan the entire wedding through emails and the internet. We discovered a gem in Jason. He is fabulous at planning events and understanding what the bride and groom want. He has planned so many events that he has it down to a science. He will answer all questions with great detail and provide other options that have worked, but will also refer to the bride and groom since it is their special day. Jason, Harry and the staff are very detail oriented and make you feel like you are the most important client they have ever had. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious. We had 130 people at the wedding and we are getting so many calls from our guests telling us that this wedding was magical. Don't waste another second and book this venue before someone else does.

From our very first meeting with Jason to our wedding day, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the food was incredible, and the staff was beyond wonderful. Jason truly goes above and beyond - his knowledge, responsiveness, and attention to detail made the entire planning process so smooth. He answered every question we had, made sure everything ran seamlessly, and was such a genuine, kind person to work with on one of the biggest days of our lives. Dunes West is the PERFECT wedding venue! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch. Jason takes care of every detail from the initial planning meeting until the end of your reception. They have a wonderful set-up for getting ready at the club for both parties as well so the logistics of getting everyone to the same place at the same time is not stressful. The food is top notch! Fairytale Wedding!
Getting married at Dunes West was the BEST day of my life! Jason was incredibly helpful and accommodating from the "get-go". Any time I had questions, I would send Jason an e-mail and I would get a prompt reply. He is such a pleasure to work with! Now, on to the important details. From the moment I stepped foot on Dunes West Golf and River Club, I knew that this was the venue I was going to proclaim my wedding vows at. My heart had been captured, and I had fallen in love with this venue. The views from the venue are breathtaking, and they made for some incredible photo opportunities. The bridal suite was incredibly spacious. There was plenty of room to accommodate me, and 5 bridesmaids, a flower girl, and my mother. The groom suite was just the "perfect" size. After all, most grooms don't require too much space! Both suites had access to private individual showers. On the morning of the wedding, Jason brought my bridesmaids and I a complimentary bottle of Champagne on ice. The staff at Dunes West waited on us hand and foot. It felt amazing to be treated like we were royal! I seriously could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. All of my guests mentioned how gorgeous the venue was, and how incredible the food was. Harry, the event coordinator for Dunes West made sure that my new hubby and I had everything we needed while we sat down and had our private time after our ceremony. One of the best things I really loved about Dunes West, is that after the wedding ceremony, they make sure that you have adequate alone time with your spouse so you can enjoy each other's company and your dinner before being bombarded by beloved wedding guests! The layout of the facility is so easy to work with. DW provided linens, tables, chairs, and full-on catering which saved me a lot of money. DW was so accommodating, I think if I had requested the moon and stars, they would have done their absolute best to make that happen! Hands down, this was the most incredible experience. I would not want to get married at any other venue other than Dunes West.

Book Dunes West for a gorgeous, stress-free wedding!
My husband and I just hosted our twice postponed wedding reception at Dunes West, and we cannot thank this venue & Jason Hanson + team enough for such an incredible experience! Jason and team run a tight ship, and everything was incredibly well-organized and thoughtful on our wedding day. Our guests raved about the stunning oak tree at the ceremony site, dinner on the porch at sunset overlooking the gorgeous creek, and the delicious food. I could think of about a million reasons to book at Dunes West, but I’ll share just this one story that exemplifies how unique Dunes West is in the cutthroat and sometimes callous wedding industry in Charleston.
My husband and I were originally scheduled to wed on March 21, 2020 at a different venue in Mt Pleasant. Our original date was exactly one week after the country shut down, and we’d paid in full to our vendors at that point. We postponed to November 2020 thinking that it would be safer to gather then. Unfortunately it was not, yet our original venue refused to allow us to postpone again to a safer date citing that “South Carolina was open for business.” Then ensued a horrible experience and we had to eventually bring in a lawyer to find a solution that would not endanger our families and vendors & would allow us to recoup some of money that we’d paid in full for a wedding that never happened. This is where Dunes West came in – after cutting ties with our original venue, we booked with Dunes West for a March 2022 wedding reception. Venue manager Jason Hanson could not have been more accommodating. While booking with Jason, we learned that he postponed weddings for the 7 couples that requested accommodations(!), and he even cancelled and reimbursed (!!) two couples who did not want to postpone their weddings to after the pandemic. Jason was operating his business literally 10 minutes away from our original venue, yet his approach to customer service, kindness, and valuing human life over business profit was worlds apart. We still desperately wanted to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends, but we were anxious and fearful about signing a new contract after our previous experience. Jason modified his contract to ease our fears(!!!), and he was so understanding and kind throughout our decision process to book with Dunes West.
Weddings are fun, but wedding planning is a lot of work and can be very stressful. If you want a venue that is not only stunning but also run by kind, responsive, and professional people who care deeply about your experience and minimize rather than add to the stress of planning a wedding, book at Dunes West. They are truly the best.

Dunes West is a beautiful setting for your special day. I recently got married there and couldn't have asked for a better venue. It's on the water, full of trees draped in Spanish moss, offers three different ceremony sites outside, and the inside is very elegant. Jason Hanson is the Wedding Director there and will guide you through the process from start to finish. He creates the entire timeline and knows when the sun sets on every single day, handy for pictures. It was nice knowing that all I had to do was show up and be princess for a day. Dunes West provides everything from tables and chairs, to linens and dishes. You won't need to rent a thing! They also offer the option to use their bar package or bring in your own alcohol for a small corkage fee. The food is great as well. If I were to do it all over again I would not change a thing!

I don’t even know where to start with Dunes West! Most amazing venue EVER. The food is absolutely to die for. So many of my guests were saying it was the best wedding food they ever had. Even my little sister couldn’t stop talking about it, and she is the type who would be the first to tell me if it was bad lol! The setting and atmosphere are stunningly gorgeous. You get the beauty of being on the water with marsh views, the oak trees, etc. with the modern comforts of an indoor clubhouse. But, the best part of the venue is Jason, Harry, and the team. Jason must have answered 100 of my emails asking random questions over the past year, offering me suggestions and guidance. He seriously knows what he is doing when it comes to weddings. He’s also just the kindest, most professional person to work with. The day of the wedding ran smoothly thanks to Jason, Harry, and the team. I’m so glad we chose Dunes West as our wedding venue. We must have toured 20 other venues in the area, and this one is seriously the best! So many trendy venues like Boone Hall or Alhambra Hall look nice, but they are so expensive and the venue fee doesn’t include anything. At Dunes West, you get the same views, and the Charleston feel but with an onsite bar and catering team who provides all the linens, tables, chairs, etc. Book Dunes West, you won’t regret it!

Me and my fiance looked at tons of venues. It was a challenge being a budget friendly bride with a very opinionated family. On my special day I wanted something that felt secluded, beautiful trees and nature. Our family wanted creature comforts like AC, accessible bathrooms, indoors away from the weather and bugs.. this place was the happy medium. I could get married under probably the most photogenic tree, with an asile that your heels wont sink into, right on the marsh! lol its a perfect location yet tucked away just enough. The indoor reception area has french doors all around the building that can be opened up. It even has a large area to get ready in upstairs that opens up onto a porch, and has a private staircase to make a grand entrance to your ceremony.
Just the first visit we set a date and booked with them. They seemed to really have it all together and had experience. They did food, tables, chairs, dishes, bar, day of coordinator... just about everything is included. Whenever I hear people say they're getting married I try to recommend this place. Not because I want everyone stealing my perfect spot but because it feels selfish to keep this place a secret.
AFTER THE WEDDING UPDATE:
So happy we chose this venue! They went above and beyond in every way to make sure our day was a success! I can not say enough good things. The food, the staff, everything was amazing! I don't know how they manage to make each wedding, and each bride feel so special and unique with how busy they actually are but they do. They even found me sparklers after I'd given up hope. What venue does that! Love them! A special shout out must be given to Jason who coordinated everything. He made sure to answer all of my million questions timely and helped suggest things to make sure my wedding went perfectly.

The PERFECT place for a wedding!!!! Jason did such a wonderful job- we were so happy with everything! Avenue of oak trees leading up to an antebellum style house on a beautiful creek- like something out of a fairy tale. Gorgeous views, 2 indoor levels, balcony, outdoor area - this venue has it all. We got so many comments about what an awesome venue it was. The food was fantastic, the price was reasonable, they were accommodating and easy to work with, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The entire Dunes West team is simply amazing. Jason made the planning process a breeze. He is incredibly quick to respond to any request or question, and really put my mind at ease as a bride. Harry, who was with us the day of, took such great care of us. He kept us on time, well-fed, and made sure any want or need was taken care of.
I've had numerous guests tell me this was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The catering staff here is top notch.
The facilities are simply beautiful. They have a newly renovated bridal suite, which was such a nice space to get in ready.

We got married at Dunes West in January and had the BEST experience!! First of all, Dunes West is beautiful (inside and especially the ceremony site) and fit our classy, formal wedding vision perfectly. The food is incredible, we had the hardest time choosing which food from our tasting we wanted to go with because it was all fabulous. Our guests are still talking about it!!
Jason is wonderful to work with and made the planning and execution of our wedding day flawless, with the help of Harry and the rest of the team. The pricing was very reasonable compared to any other Charleston venue and offers so much more for your money (tables, chairs, linens, glassware, flatware).
We could not have asked for a better experience with our venue and we cannot recommend this venue to other couples more. Truly the best day of our lives!

Our wedding day could not have been more perfect! Jason, Harry, and the rest of the team made sure absolutely everything was taken care of! They went above and beyond the call of duty, even running last minute errands to make sure our night was everything we had hoped for. The food was out of this world, a perfect southern menu, and our guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was....from our ceremony under the live oak overlooking the salt marsh at sunset, to the perfectly executed reception with french doors open to the veranda's starry night, it was more than we could have ever imagined!

Our dream wedding!!!
Dunes West is an absolutely incredible wedding venue!! I must have researched 30 other venues in the Charleston area, and none even came close to the value of Dunes West. It's amazing how many things are NOT included with other venues.. Dunes West came with tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, parking, catering, a bride and groom suite for getting ready (which you have access to as early as 7am if you wish), and a gorgeous setting for the entire day, from the venue itself, to the 3 different ceremony site options, to the beautiful grounds with huge oak trees, and the river as a stunning backdrop. And most importantly of all, Dunes West has Jason, who is the Food & Beverage Director and point of contact for any and all questions wedding related. I can't even count the number of emails I sent him with various questions, some of which were so long they could have been a book! He answered every single question, usually within 24 hours at that. He and Harry, the Banquet Captain, are there for the entire wedding day to ensure your timeline runs smoothly and that you don't have to worry about anything. The staff at Dunes West even set up the tables and chairs for you, and break everything down at the end of the night, AND they will pick up any and all of your personal items, flowers, and decor, and hold it for you to pick up the next morning if you wish. They made our signature cocktails to the exact recipe that we provided for them, and even had an option for a corkage bar, where you can provide all the alcohol for the wedding and keep whatever is leftover at the end (much more economical!). They even boxed up our cake, and packed us a to go meal from our wedding food, along with a chilled glass of champagne to take home with us that night. The space can hold hundreds of guests, but we had a very small wedding with only 58 people in attendance. We were worried that it may feel too small with so few guests, but the venue has such a unique layout with use of both upstairs and downstairs during the reception, that the size felt just right for our group. I could go on and on about all the little things that made Dunes West incredible, but I'd never be able to name them all. We feel so thankful to have chosen Dunes West for our wedding, as it truly was a dream come true, and was easily one of the best days of our lives!!!

An Absolutely Magical Wedding at Dunes West!
Our wedding at Dunes West was nothing short of a dream come true. From start to finish, the entire day was flawlessly executed, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Jason and Pam were absolutely amazing—professional, kind, and completely dedicated to making our day perfect. Their attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. Brianna was incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Whether it was helping with last-minute adjustments or simply checking in to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, she was always one step ahead.
The venue itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our guests feel right at home. Everything came together beautifully, and we are still getting compliments from friends and family about how wonderful the entire day was.
Thank you, Dunes West, for making our wedding unforgettable. We are so grateful for the entire team—especially Jason, Pam, and Brianna—for making our vision a reality. Highly, highly recommend!

We got married at high tide as the sun was setting in October. The venue was stunning!! Jason and his team were very flexible and helpful. They made my dream of being married under the oaks come true.

Cannot recommend enough!
I was married at Dunes West in November and there simply are not enough good things that I can say about Jason, Harry and the rest of the team there. My husband and I loved the venue from the very first time we saw it and the trees and foliage in combination with the clubhouse itself made for stunning photos on our day. Jason, the venue coordinator, was extremely accommodating and always responded to me no matter how many questions I had. He and Harry basically act as day of coordinators (for the reception) and helped everything to run smoothly for the entire night while also making sure that my husband and I were comfortable and had food and drinks. The food at the club was also amazing and I got compliments all night from my guests about how this was the best wedding they had ever been to. The bridal suite was also a great resource- my girls and I were in there all day and there was plenty of space for hair, makeup and lunch. I cannot recommend them enough!

Dunes West Golf & River Club and Jason came highly recommended and they did not disappoint!!!!!!! To provide perspective, our daughters wedding was conducted the Saturday night during the historic rain weekend, 27 inches in Mt Pleasant over that weekend. Many, many, many venues and weddings were cancelled, moved, or postponed………..our daughter's came off without a single hitch, hiccup, or surprise……………we attribute this to the professionalism, organization and demeanor of Jason and his staff. We had to make some adjustments due to the weather, Jason had great ideas, accommodated the urgency, and had a calming effect that contributed to the events success. We could not have been more pleased from the initial visit, the exceptional planning advice provided by Jason, the efficiency of his approach, to the culmination of the event in the midst of nature's surprise. They say leaders rise to the top during the midst of adversity, Jason was truly exceptional. He went above and beyond the call of duty to arrange adjustments, to accommodate special needs due to the weather, he called on his network to make things happen. He was there during the event to handle it all, he was there before us the day after, and he even assisted us sorting through and getting things organized after. A Class Act that takes pride in his work, and his venue.
The venue was excellent, clean, organized, the food was tremendous, the staff exceptional, and the club accommodating to our needs, in short, all we could ask for. It offers several variations to choose from, the drive in and out is pleasant and relaxing, the whole experience was well done. Our highest recommendation.

Dunes West was an amazing location for our September wedding. The ceremony under the oak tree at sunset was picturesque! The venue had great outdoor space on the water for cocktail hour and the dinner upstairs provided an elegant spot for the meal. Jason was so accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

I honestly believe that this is the best venue to get married in.
Your view is underneath a huge oak tree that overlooks the water and when the sun goes down, you get the most breathtaking moments.
Dunes West and their beverage director, Jason Hansen, work well within any budget and completely kept my wife and family at ease throughout the entire process.
The food was spectacular and for any golfer, the course is absolutely amazing!
I live in DC and this was a destination wedding but all of my guests got to explore Charleston and really enjoy themselves. This venue made us feel right at home.
Still to this day, everyone talks about how amazing the view, the food, and the place was.
Please do yourself a favor and get married here...You will thank me.

Wonderful wedding exerpeicne!
Married at Dunes West in May 2023 and had the absolute best experience! All inclusive venue that includes ceremony, reception, catering, drinks, tables, chairs, linen, and staff set up and break down for a reasonable price! Jason (food and beverage director) was incredibly helpful, prompt, and professional throughout the entire planning process, as well as the day of the event. Harry and the catering staff were wonderful and we got multiple compliments from the guests that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Gorgeous venue with a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony! 100% would recommend Dunes West!!!

The Venue of My Dreams
We loved, loved, loved our experience at Dunes West! Jason, Pam, and the entire staff went above and beyond not just on our wedding day, but throughout the entire planning process. Jason answered every single question I had (and there were a lot!) with patience and kindness. He is truly a gem of a human, and the same goes for Pam and the rest of the team.
Even being three hours away, we always felt completely comfortable and confident because of how communicative, organized, and caring they were.
The wedding day itself was absolutely perfect because of them. Everything flowed seamlessly, they made sure we always had food and drinks, even setting up a short private dinner for us to take it all in together. They anticipated every need, took care of every detail, and made sure our guests were happy the entire time.
We were nervous about the weather, but Jason was incredibly flexible and reassuring. He was ready to wait until the very last second before moving the ceremony indoors if needed, which gave us so much peace of mind. Thankfully, the weather held out, but knowing we were in such capable hands made all the difference.
And the venue itself? STUNNING. The scenery, the atmosphere, everything was picture-perfect. I could go on and on, but truly, if you’re considering this venue, do it. You will not regret it.

This will be a wedding you will never forget if you have it here. I have lived in Charleston for 25 years and I know of all the venues in town you can choose from, but I am so happy I had it here at Dunes West. I work full time and basically planned the whole thing myself, but that was easy because Jaspn takes care of everything!! The food was absolutely phenomenal (I had so many people tell me that was the best food they ever had at a wedding) and every other minor to major detail he took care of. I am beyond thrilled with how everything turned out. We had a picturesque background and even had sunset pictures on top of all that. The staff was super attentive and no one was ever not taken care of. You will absolutely be over the moon with this location, Jason and his staff. Book this now!!!!!

Night of our lives!
My wife and I had the time of our life. Our event from the beginning went amazing. Jason made sure we had everything we needed and were happy with the results. He is a truly amazing and good guy. The food was amazing, all the guests agreed as well. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The staff were there to make sure the night went flawlessly and I wouldnt take it back for the world. Jason and the rest of his team did a wonderful job on our wedding, from the planning process to the big day. He is very responsive and never seemed to get frustrated with my million plus questions throughout the process. He made us feel special throughout the entire process. The food was stellar, the set up was flawless, and the coordination was impeccable. Jason is fun and easy to work with. We had a little rain during our ceremony, but Jason and his team helped make the transition from outdoor ceremony to indoor ceremony very smooth. Thank you again, Jason and team!

Dunes West was a wonderful place to get married. We knew right away when we visited that this was the place for us. It is a gorgeous site, with numerous amenities and plenty of space while still maintaining an intimate feeling that is perfect for a wedding. Many of our guests raved about how picturesque the site was, with the Spanish moss and the water views. Beyond that, Jason and his team went above and beyond to bring us the wedding of our dreams. He was always available to answer our many questions during the planning process, and our day went off without a hitch! We got so many compliments on the food provided by the in-house caterers as well. We would definitely choose Dunes West again, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to plan a wedding in the area.

Choosing Dunes West as our venue was the best decision we made in wedding planning! Jason makes your life so much easier, and I can’t imagine a better venue coordinator. They are very flexible in helping you customize your day and prices are very affordable compared to similar venues in the area, especially with all the inclusions. My husband and I got married here in October and it was perfect! Jason Hansen was amazing!! He was so on top of it and had everything down to a science. From our first meeting to our last and all the emails in between he had everything written down and on a schedule. He answered emails promptly and offered suggestions. He put us at ease and helped make sure we stayed on schedule. The day of, he was there and his staff was a little slow setting up and once we let him know he took care of it immediately. Our guests raved about how gorgeous it was and how great the food was!! I would definitely recommend getting married here and letting Jason coordinate your special day! He is the best!!!

We could not be happier with our decision to have our wedding at Dunes West Golf Club. The whole experience from planning to the day of was enjoyable. Jason was so fantastic to work with and was very responsive and knowledgeable. He answered my millions of questions timely, accurately, and friendly. The Dunes West team went above and beyond to make us feel special throughout our engagement and on our wedding day.
We got ready at the venue, got married in the courtyard, and had our reception at the club house. The ladies locker room was very spacious and had lots of windows so you could see what was going on (which was so much fun!). The staff was friendly and was attentive to everything we needed. After the ceremony they provided drinks and food to the wedding party (which was greatly appreciated), they also made sure that my groom and I were able to sit down for a few and eat some delicious food. I thought that the flow with upstairs/downstairs worked out great! The upstairs gave people a place to talk where it wasn’t quite as loud (since we had a band downstairs). It was nice having the two bars, and many people mentioned that they never had to wait long for a drink or food. This was hands down one of our best wedding decisions. We are so thankful for the amazing Dunes West team for making our wedding day so special!

Outstanding Venue Made for a Flawless Wedding
I cannot recommend Dunes West & Jason enough for anyone looking to get married. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out and there are plenty of different areas to choose from for the ceremony. Jason is prompt, reliable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable regarding all things wedding planning.
The morning of our wedding, we arrived to the bridal suite to find champagne and flutes with a note from Jason. We also had staff come check to see if we needed any more champagne or additional drinks throughout the day while getting ready. The bridal suite has plenty of room for hair/makeup and the groom's suite was perfect for their needs.
Jason made sure the entire day went smoothly and as planned. Our ceremony was beautiful, followed by photos by the river. During the post-ceremony photos, the wait staff brought the bridal party drinks and appetizers, which I thought was a great touch. Following our sunset photos, Jason led my husband and I to a private room, where we ate by ourselves and enjoyed the sunset. This was one of my favorite moments from the wedding and I highly recommend doing this to spend some time with your spouse during the day.
In addition, we got phenomenal feedback from our family and friends regarding all aspects of the wedding. The food was fantastic, certaintly not your typical wedding food and our guests raved about how much they loved dinner/drink selections. We were continually told that it was the best wedding our guests had attended, which is greatly thanks to Jason and his team. I can't thank them enough for the perfect wedding day.
If you want an elegant, spacious, affordable venue with delicious food and an amazing staff, Dunes West is the only choice and I'd highly recommend that anyone has their wedding hosted there.

Seriously stop what you're doing and book this venue! We originally planned to try a backyard wedding but it was looking to be too expensive and time consuming and we happened to find Dunes West and put in an inquiry. I was absolutely blown away by how kind and helpful Jason was, and we were quick to book before they ran out of dates. We even decided to move our wedding up a few months sooner, just to be able to have our wedding at Dunes West.
Jason kindly replied to every one of my numerous emails throughout the whole process, and he could not have been any more helpful or nice during our rehearsal dinner or wedding day. Jason and his staff (shoutout to the banquet captain Harry) took care of setting up everything, tended to our every needs, and were just so nice! My now husband and I were actually able to eat on our wedding day, and we got soooo many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food and the bar service! The venue was absolutely beautiful, everyone was so accommodating, and the only thing I'm sad about, is that it is now all over! I cannot wait to get my pictures and video back so I can relive the day over and over.

This is our second daughter getting married and we enjoyed the first one so much 9 years ago, that we came back to celebrate our second daughters wedding here at Dunes West! Jason and the staff are wonderful! The food was delicious! And it's a beautiful location to celebrate such a wonderful time in your daughter or son life! Dunes West was everything and more that we could ask for. The venue itself is not huge, but perfect for our size wedding, the outside is so unbelievable for photos, all our guests raves about it. The ceremony space was outside under the Spanish moss tree which is one of the major things I wanted and the venue delivered! Jason who helped with the planning process with food and floor plans was AMAZING, I cannot say better things about him. His experience about the venue makes the planning process so easy, always willing to help if needed and as a bride knowing that we can sometimes be annoying, he never seemed bothered at all - he just wanted to make sure everything was perfect, and everything was. The staff was also amazing, Harry was a huge help also! They definitely care about the details and want to make sure the day goes perfectly. My now husband and I had the best day ever and Dunes West and Jason were amazing!

We had our wedding at Dunes West this past weekend and everything was perfect and wonderful.
The staff was amazing. Jason Hanson is the Food and Beverage Director. He is excellent to work with. He is easy going and very patient. All details were completed and filled by Jason and his staff. They do an excellent job and were a big part of the success of the wedding. Jason and I emailed back and forth for almost a year. He is responsive and open to suggestions and changes. Job well done by he and his staff!
The venue was gorgeous. We are so happy we chose this venue and setting. The weather was perfect. The clubhouse was perfect and the location of the ceremony under the oaks is a must. We had oaks, hanging moss and water in the background. You get everything you want in this location.
Appetizers and drinks were trey passed. The food was excellent and the guests raved about the food. Shrimp and grits, to bacon wrapped scallops to crab cakes and chicken and waffles. It all tasted excellent.
The wedding inside on the top floor was great. Beautiful lighting. Great bar. Jason and staff kept everything on schedule.
It was just a beautiful night. We wish that we could do it all over again. Great setting. Great staff. Great food. I highly recommend this venue. We will stop back by this site in a year and will walk around and remember this special day.
Of all the places, if you want an outdoor wedding, this can't be beat. Jason will lead you in the right direction. Very accommodating. Friendly

Jason and the staff were amazing! So professional and polite. They were on top of their game of knowing when to coordinate times/transitioning into the next part of the event. They have a great off peak season deal that we used for our February wedding. We also loved that they offer everything without having to go to a rental company so it lessens the amount of vendors you have to worry about when planning your own wedding. They set up and break down all of their own chairs and tables, have full bar service on both floors of the club house (which is huge and so beautiful), plenty of room to get ready for bride and groom, located right on the creek for awesome sunset photos with oak trees in the background. So glad we chose them to host our event, and can't say enough good things about them!

Dunes West is absolutely amazing! Everything from the venue to the staff to the food was truly a dream!! Jason and his staff made everything run so smoothly and stress free. Jason took the time to meet with us to talk about details on numerous occasions. He is a serious pro when it comes to running a wedding!!! The venue is beautiful from top to bottom, inside and outside! We did not try the food prior to the wedding, but there is no need to. Everything tasted great and our guests loved it too!! If you are looking for an amazing, affordable and beautiful venue then I would highly recommend Dunes West!

Jason Hanson was hands down the best event planner! The venue was gorgeous and couldnt ask for a better site! Everyone was professional and made the night run smoothly. Look no where else but Dunes West!

I cannot say enough about the excellent decision to have your wedding at Dunes West. Jason Hanson, the event coordinator, and his staff (especially Harry), made my wedding run as smoothly as a well oiled wheel. Who can say they had no glitches? Nothing they wished they had done differently? Nothing that didn’t go as planned? I CAN! And that's all thanks to Jason and the staff at Dunes West. Our ceremony under the oak tree at sunset was gorgeous, our dinner was laid out beautifully, the layout of the reception venue was logical and easy, and the customer service is beyond rating. We booked the venue about a year in advance (and there were others already booked in our same month!) and Jason was always available to answer any question, and even make suggestions, that we may have. I was never worried about the venue - Jason made us so comfortable that everything was under control. The food was absolutely delicious. Our guests still compliment the food to this day. I really loved that our venue, caterer (including chairs, tables, dance floor, etc) were all found in one place, with one point person. It definitely made our life easier! And sometimes in these cases, the venue may be beautiful but the "required in house caterer" isn’t go great... not in this case. I cannot say enough about the food! Delicious! I would highly recommend Dunes West for a gorgeous outdoor wedding/indoor reception!

The absolute best wedding venue! Jason is amazing, always follows up with you and really professional! The venue is the most beautiful venue ever and I still can't believe I was blessed enough to have a wedding there. They are flexible as far as pricing so don't discredit them if you are on a budget! I am so happy I had my wedding here and enjoyed the pure beauty of the location. From our ceremony at sunset by the water to the beautiful reception inside. The staff were all absolutely helpful! Thank you Dune's West! Made my wedding day dreams come true!

Jason and his team are exactly what you should look for when booking a venue. They run everything like a well oiled machine and are incredibly accommodating. We truly felt like we were their sole priority on the night of our wedding, which made the experience even better. Because they can provide so much (ceremony setup/breakdown, cleanup, food, beer/wine/liquor, tables w/ linens, etc.) it made planning the wedding so much less stressful than it could have been. They generally set up weddings around sunset so that you get a beautiful marsh sunset as the backdrop to your pictures. I cannot recommend Jason and his team enough, they were fantastic and helped make our day truly special.

From the moment we saw Dunes West we knew this was the perfect venue and place to celebrate our big day. The sunset and all the views this venue has to offer are breathtaking and the oak trees with the spainish moss give the venue a plantation feel. The event coordinator, Jason and his staff were on both personable and professional adapting to our every need during the entire process. Jason was welcoming and helpful from the first meeting. He always had time to meet with me or answer questions through email with a timely response. He has the logistics of the big day already mapped out and can tell you when and where you'll need to be to stay on track. I didn't even need to hire a day of coordinator because he was so organized and on top of the details. The menu options were so delicious and had everyone going back for seconds both at the rehearsal and at the reception. From the service Jason and his staff provide to the great value, you won't be disappointed! I'll recommend Dunes West to everyone!

Dunes West is the hidden Gem of Charleston, SC. Everyone who wants to get married in Charleston are quick to look at all the popular spots and settle for the hard work or expensive prices it takes to make those venues work for weddings. I was an out of town bride so I was looking for the Charleston feel as well as a place that had it all. And boy, does Dunes West have it all. First off, Jason is amazing. Dunes West was our last location we looked at before booking a place and Jason had as sold the moment we walked in. He sat us down and ran through all the details to the point where I was already picturing our wedding day! And on our actual wedding day, he was so professional, fun, and ran everything on schedule!! We loved him so much. Also, Dunes West has everything. Food, bartenders, linens, tables, you honestly do not have to rent anything!! And the food is AMAZING. All our guests were blown away with how good it was. No detail was left unattended. Lastly, it is a breathtakingly beautiful venue. The building itself is gorgeous but the grounds around it takes the cake. The trees with the spanish moss, the marshes around, the sunset is amazing!! I am so happy with our choice in venue, it really made our day that much more special. I highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a beautiful place that is also beautifully run. Jason will truly make your day the best day ever!!

Incredible Venue
Our guests couldn't stop telling us how much they loved our venue - gorgeous oak trees on the water, great layout, INCREDIBLE food, and a very professional and attentive staff. We loved working with Jason and he made it an easy process. We can't say enough great things about this wonderful venue!

Amazing! A dream come true!
My husband and I went to tour a few venues in the Charleston area and as soon as we drove up to Dunes West, I knew it would be the place we got married. Jason was responsive, attentive, and efficient. The staff executed the wedding Flawlessly the day of. Prior to the wedding, Jason answered all of my questions and I had a lot of them. We got married under the big oak tree and it was absolutely stunning. The sunset, the Spanish moss, everything. Highly recommend!!

So when Jason told us that Dunes West Golf & River Club has 51 weddings on their books for this year, I was amazed! That says everything! Who would not want to have their wedding ceremony and/or reception at this very special venue?
Jason, the Food & Beverage Director, is a hands on planner...he is very attentive and ensures that your every wish and detail meets your expectations. Jason and his staff went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Such an example...during the planning of the wedding/reception we talked about a 'plan B' if it should rain...our ceremony was planned for outdoors under a gorgeous oak overlooking the marsh. I certainly thought nothing about plan B, after that discussion...but as I was walking down the clubhouse staircase, the skies darkened and just before my brother escorted me outside, the sky opened up! Guests were making their way back indoors as the staff were providing large golf umbrellas to get them back inside as dry as possible.
So, without hesitation, Jason told me we'd implement plan B...as the staff was setting up for the ceremony indoors, the bar was opened for our guests...and we proceeded in a matter of minutes holding the ceremony on the veranda. We were on the marsh side of the clubhouse, so we were still looking out towards the marsh. It was perfect! You know they say that if it rains on your wedding day, it is good luck...we also had a rainbow! And when the rain passed, the sunset was breathtaking.
Jason and staff made sure that from the beginning of our wedding day (I had a bridal luncheon and dressed at the club as well) that everything went without a hitch. I cannot say enough about the exceptional wedding and reception experience that we had with Jason at Dunes est Golf & River Club!

Jason and Harry provided great service on the day of the wedding. My husband and I very much appreciated how it was part of the timeline to allow us to eat before any other guests arrived for dinner which gave us a few minutes to take it all in and enjoy each other in that moment and spend the rest of the time for dinner to speak with guests.

Love Dunes!
Dunes West was the perfect venue for our May 2019 wedding! Jason was incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process. He quickly responded to all of my emails over the past year and provided great options for the dinner service that fit within our budget. Jason was very thorough during our final walk through and worked well with our wedding planner the entire time. Dunes was absolutely stunning on our wedding day and the ceremony time Jason suggested was PERFECT for sunset pictures. All of the food was excellent. Our guests are still raving about the food and venue. We cannot thank Jason and the Dunes staff enough for helping us bring our fairy tale wedding to life!
