The best in the wedding business

ilarious, professional, understanding, AMAZING are just a few words to describe John and Howie. From our first meeting with them we knew we would hire them just from their personality. They are professional but at the same time hilarious and we felt like we’ve known them our entire lives. As someone whose not comfortable in front of a camera, they made me so comfortable during our engagement shoot and our wedding portraits. On top of all that they captured every single moment during our wedding and didn’t miss a beat. As a Coptic Christian our ceremony can be confusing to people not from our religion. However, their experience with our ceremonies shined as they captured every symbolic moment. You will not go wrong hiring dreamlite as your photographer. We can’t wait to use them for future events.

    Exemplary service with priceless memories

I couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our special day in Houston! Jon and Ria made our intimate wedding celebration more beautiful than we could have imagined. They were beyond encouraging and patient when it came time for poses. My husband and I felt fluid and comfortable throughout the entire experience. We were able to stay our goofy selves throughout the day! Our entire family is beyond grateful for the gift of memories that Dreamlite as able to give to us. They were full of ideas, inspiration, and skill when it came time for candid shots of our two girls, which I am so grateful for. Jon was able to capture some really incredible moments. We would give them ten stars if we could!

    Low-key Hourly Wedding Party

I was looking for photographers that would do a more casual wedding party vs. an 8-10 hour wedding event. Dreamlite was a wonderful find! Jon was professional, kind and helpful right from the first email exchange. He was so enthusiastic about photographing our more low-key party, plus had no issue with only shooting a few hours of pictures. His hourly rate was reasonable when looking around for photographers.
We met ahead of our party date to check the venue and possible shot locations; he was just as attentive with us (only a small photo session event) as he would have been with a larger wedding day/night event - meant a lot!
The day of the wedding party went great. Quickly doing 'posed' pictures and then went right into guest pictures etc. Our photos are lovely. We're very appreciative to Jon; his beautiful pictures and his sweet, easy and professional personality!

To everyone looking for photographers to capture their big night, stop looking! These guys are the best of the best! Jon and Howie were not only professional but they're fun and became our friends throughout the whole process. They work hard to make sure you get the shots you want but at the same time give you direction and lead you the day of, so that you really have nothing to worry about. Dreamlite was a wonderful addition to our wedding. Not only did they provide the services that were expected of them, they used their general wedding expertise to walk us through seemingly minor details, like putting on a veil, drying the bouquets, getting food for us while we were doing portraits during the cocktail hour, etc. They even had things like bobby pins on hand just in case!

Jon and Howie are great! They are professional and actually scouted the area (of our session) beforehand. They are well-prepared to tackle any situation that arose during the session. They offered suggestions on what areas to capture moment as well!

We appreciate Jon and Howie's flexibility and thoughtfulness. We received the photo earlier than expected and they were perfect! We would recommend them to anyone considering any photography services.

I would highly recommend Dreamlite photography to any bride, they photographed our engagement shoot in Austin, Texas and flew out to Nicaragua to photograph our destination wedding. My husband and I are extremely happy with our photographs, and received numerous compliments from our family and friends.
Jon and Howie are very flexible to work with, they always respond promptly, pay close attention to all the little details, and great people overall.

    Dreamlite Photography's reply:

Thank you Vivian for the kind review. It was an honor to meet, work, and spend time with you + Anthony + all of your loved ones. We'll be sure to see more of you two in Miami, Austin, or anywhere else in the world!

I honestly cannot rave enough about how amazing and wonderful Howie and Jon were for our wedding. My husband's sister had used them for her wedding, and they had such a great experience that we had to have them too. From beginning to end, they were just absolutely flawless. They walked us through everything, told us everything we'd need to know and do, and worked with us every step of the way. They were so patient throughout the entire day, and they even stayed later to make sure that they didn't miss a single moment of our big day. They are the most accommodating, most easy-going, and most professional photographers I have ever seen, and they will do anything to get that perfect shot. The day after the event, they already had some teaser photos ready for us, and we were floored by how beautiful they were. They captured moments that we didn't even realized happened, and we will definitely treasure these pictures forever. Each year, when my husband and I look back at our photos, we will be able to relive this day thanks to Jon and Howie's breathtaking work.

I thought of Jon and Howie immediately when it came time to decide on a photographer for our wedding. I had seen a lot of their work online and heard a lot of positive things from friends who had either utilized their services or had encountered them at events, so I was feeling very optimistic when meeting with them.

They did not disappoint. From the very first meeting, my now-husband and I felt extremely comfortable around them and trusted their insight and unique vision for capturing our big day. I was encouraged by their experience, but even more so, their passion for their work, and you can tell by the way they speak of their art that they want to capture those moments that you want.

They touched base frequently in the months leading up to the wedding to ensure the schedule and to collect lists of group photos that we wanted, as well as key moments that we definitely wanted them to take photos of. They welcomed all of our questions, concerns, and surprises with a professional and positive attitude that reassured us time and time again.

On the day of, they were timely, courteous, unobtrusive, and and engaging. Ever diligent, they were always snapping away. From the photo of my grandma walking down the aisle and waving to the guests, to the silly faces my husband and I make at each other, they were able to get everything just right. With a team of 2 talented photographers, I wasn't worried that anything would be missed.

I would definitely use them again for another event should another need come up, and our wedding photos came out exactly how I wanted them to - timeless, creative, and unforgettable.

Jon (at Dreamlite Photography) photographed my wedding solo and did an amazing job. With our wedding at an old Mill complex with 3 stories & tons of outdoor space, 115 of our guests were everywhere. Yet, Jon managed to keep up with them all. He was extremely professional to work with & went above and beyond his duties for the day (at one point I noticed we were running low on cupcakes... Jon took off and found the caterer to bring it to their attention). Not only is he a great photographer, he' a great person. We just received our photographs (1 month, ladies! Not many of my friends can say that) and they are beautiful! After your wedding is over and done with, all you have left is the photographs. Don't skimp out on the most important part of your day. This company is worth every penny!

Jon and Howie of Dreamlite are the perfect mixture of incredible talent, true professionalism, and just all around good guys. We had seen their work before meeting with them and were blown away by their use of perspective and space--these guys are not your average wedding photographers, they take their art seriously and don't get bogged down by the typical or trendy. We had a very long, unique wedding and the guys were high-energy throughout the whole day (and night!). They put our guests at ease to the point of people forgetting they were even there, and got to know our bridal party in order to get natural smiles out of them.

Prior to the wedding, they listened to what we wanted of our shots (perfectly captured candids with a mix of portraits), and got to know us as people beforehand. You can see how well that translated later: they caught those little moments between my husband and me perfectly. They also got to know our traditions and cultures, so we have shots of the little nuances that are unique to our heritages.

From a contact perspective, they were always there for us and responded promptly whenever we had a question or a schedule change. They were attentive throughout the entire process, and best of all: we received ALL of our photos extremely quickly.

We can't recommend these guys enough. If you're looking for talent, professionalism, and ease of interaction on your wedding day, you've hit the jackpot.

These guys know how much we love them and their work. I discovered Jon and Howie long before I even got engaged and I already knew they were the ones who will capture my special day! Of course, I got engaged in 2012 and immediately booked them! The process was easy because Jon and Howie are easy to contact via email. They are busy guys so give them at least a day or two.

Photography was one of the most important aspect in my wedding. I knew I needed the best photographers because I will be looking at these pictures for the rest of my life. The pictures will tell the story of that beautiful day! Of course, they captured everything I wanted and then some. You can see the passion and pride they have in their work.

They are NJ based but I took them to Hawaii with us! Fyi: Contract wise you do have to pay for their airfare and hotel arrangements plus the package. Honestly, I thought that was fair and comparable to the other photographers. We did an engagement shoot, the whole wedding day coverage, and a 12x12 album. All the pictures came within a month after the wedding which is generally what they promise their customers anyway. Our photo album also came within a month and yes, it was also amazing. My family and friends loved it!

They are very talented and creative guys! I love all their fun and crazy ideas! we even did some shots with sparklers, iphones, and bubbles! I get excited to see their new posts on their site or facebook every time because their work makes me smile!

We can't thank them enough for all their hardwork, patience, and professionalism! We definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for great work! They already know this but we're definitely fans for life and if there's even such thing, they would be our lifetime photographers :D after all, they also do family photoshoots :) thank you again, Jon and Howie!

I contacted Dreamlite Photography to help take pictures of my engagement. My plan was to take my gf on a sailboat around Manhattan and then propose near the Brooklyn Bridge. Jon was extremely helpful from the beginning. Being that this was my engagement, I wanted to make sure that Jon would be able to get pictures out of it. I bombarded Jon with questions and he patiently answered every single one of them. It became very obvious that Jon knew his craft; he even helped me plan the engagement so that we could get the best pictures. Once plans were finalized, Jon took a trip to the site even though he isn't local to the area. This put me at ease because I knew that he wouldn't be looking at the site for the first time on the day of my engagement. Jon is extremely responsive to email and attentive to details; he will not take on a job where he feels like the quality will be compromised. On the day of the engagement, Jon made sure that he didn't add any more pressure to my proposal. We coordinated via text and basically I was able to just "set it and forget it" and trust that Jon would be there and able to take the pictures. As our sailboat curved around lower Manhattan and we approached the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, Jon was ready with his assistant taking pictures as we made our approach. Initially, I was concerned that a photographer wouldn't be able to capture the proposal because the lighting can be tricky and the sailboat is pretty far from land. However, when we got our pictures back from Jon, he was able to capture it all! We had wonderful pictures of our boat with NYC in the backdrop, but most of all Jon was able to capture the moment that my gf agreed to be my fiancee! I would recommend Jon to anyone who wants to have their proposal captured on film. He has a lot of experience and knowledge to help you plan your proposal so that it goes smoothly. His professionalism, skill, and attention to detail will ensure that your pictures turn out great!

Jon and Howie were more than accomodating and made our wedding a dream come true. They were:
    1) honest
    2) agreed with everything
    3) sincerely cared about how we looked
    4) knew lots of photo secrets that would make us look better
    5) spent overtime with us without charging us
    6) met up with us just to see how we were doing

please use them, you will not be dissapointed!

Jon and Howie were such a pleasure to work with the entire day. They came early, stayed late, and even had some pictures ready by the reception. They were great at organizing everyone during the group pictures as well, and made the entire day much smoother. The pictures we have seen so far look stunning. And because there's two of them, they really do capture everything. They are worth every penny.

Jon is a fabulous – and stress-free(!) – photographer. Here are a few things we appreciated in working with him:

    A. We were very happy with all the pictures Jon took on our day- they told the story and they were creative and beautiful. (If we were photographers, we would give technical comments about the lighting and angles but, since we are not photographers, suffice it to say that the pictures were simply amazing.) We’ve also been getting a lot of compliments on the pictures from family and friends.

    B. We had a culturally mixed wedding and Jon showed a great amount of sensitivity and respect in dealing with everyone. (He totally got it when we asked him not to post pictures of us kissing on our website…even though we smooched a lot for the camera! )

    C. He’s completely un-obtrusive while taking pictures, which was important to us especially during the ceremony, and he didn’t miss a single detail.

    D. Jon was prompt and organized in communicating with us via e-mail, skype, and phone to go through the photography details for our wedding day.

    E. He sent us a number of our "highlight" photographs the day after our wedding and was prompt in sending us our final pictures.

    F. He arrived early for all our wedding events and scouted out our ceremony and reception sites beforehand.

    G. He was totally calm and flexible throughout the day.

    H. He was very professional in dealing with us, but he was also very warm and friendly. We especially appreciated how he even learned the names of guests throughout the wedding weekend! The babies and the grandmas loved him.

Dreamlite Photography was amazing to work with. They were timely, professional, easy going, and their photos look so great! I was apprehensive about hiring photographers initially but quickly realized just how worthwhile they were. The day flies by so fast, you'll be glad to have beautiful photographs to relive the day through.

Personally I love the styles of each photographer; Jon's careful attention to detail and ability to capture the unexpected things really speaks though his photos. Its as if you can gleam a story from each moment he catches on film. Howie's high energy and easy going attitude really helps to make portrait sessions relaxing and fun! (especially for the camera shy) His photographs tend more toward the artful perspective and are beautifully composed. They're photos are creative and one of a kind. (unlike other photographers who set up the same shots at every wedding) I am so happy to receive photos of such high stylistic quality from such talented and awesome photographers.

The nitty gritty: They were fast and responsive (same day email replies). They were flexible and adapted to whatever was needed, They're photos are beautiful (not just mine, their whole portfolio!) and totally worth it. They held up on every guarantee they made, including posting edited teaser photos within 24 hours. -- Definitely book them!

(I apologize for the huge block of text. It won't allow proper paragraphing!)

As I stated in my own personal vows, I was never quite ready to be a bride even though I was definitely ready to be a wife. Though my high school years were filled with hours spent online looking at bouquets and favors and mentally making lists of the things I liked, when it came down to actually doing it 10 years later, I wasn't interested. All of the items on my "I-really-want-to-have-these-things-for-my-wedding" became a short "I-only-NEED-3-things" list. Those things included the following: (1) a simple dress that didn't require an entourage for me to do basic tasks, (2) a church and a reception venue that had natural lighting and no frou-frou qualities, and lastly (3) a duo of great photographers. I just wanted to be married and not deal with all the intricacies of wedding planning for our day in May 2012. I didn't know where to start when it came to the photography, so I posted on my Facebook wall and asked for suggestions. We got links to photographers that had more of a "couture" and runway style and photographers that cost an arm, a leg, and quite possibly a few internal organs. It wasn't until one of my church friends recommended Dreamlite that the search for this particular vendor was over in my mind. I sent the link to my guy, Howard, and he agreed that they had the exact look and style we wanted. We wanted pictures that captured the candid moments of our wedding as well as those posed shots that wouldn't look stiff and rigid. Contacting Dreamlite was the next step, and it only confirmed that we had found our photographers. From that email onward, Dreamlite became Jon and Howie for us. It was no longer just a photography vendor but two guys that we soon grew to know more personally. Their patience for us was astounding! I initially contacted them in July of 2010, and we didn't officially sign any contracts until August of 2011! During that year, we exchanged many emails about their photo packages and constantly changing dates. We also asked them for recommendations about other vendors. Jon and Howie were willing to answer any questions about wedding planning even if it had nothing to do with photography. We really appreciated their honesty and genuine opinions about all the details of the industry. A year after that initial email, we met with Jon and Howie at my local Panera. I was grateful that they were willing to come in from New Jersey to Staten Island. Howard and I showed up earlier than the meet time, and we sat in the car for a little bit because I was nervous! I admit that I don't like meeting new people and dealing with new situations, but eventually, we went in and found that they were already there set up! My first thought was a positive one because I too am a stickler for not just punctuality but being earlier than the designated time! The meeting flowed as I asked them what I thought were silly questions. Jon and Howie answered everything with such professionalism and humility that Howard and I felt relieved that they had wanted to meet with us. We never felt pressured, and they were the ones that actually encouraged us to think more about whether they would fit into our wedding day and to look over the contract to ask them anything else. At that point, we really didn't have many more questions since they had shown us sample albums and gone through the minutiae of the contract. Before the wedding, we discussed via email the schedule for the day and any specific shots that we wanted. They told us that if we came up with anything else, we should let them know. I sent them a few strange requests (ex. I wanted pictures with the chairs at the venue because they were my favorite!) and a picture that we wanted to recreate. They kept a list of everything as well as the photo on their phones so that I didn't have to worry about anything on the day of. It was a relief having responsible people on our "team" for our wedding. I thought that it'd be awkward having photographers take pictures of us all day long. We didn't have a chance to go through our engagement session before the wedding because we were too busy, but it ended up not being an issue at all. Jon was scheduled to be at my house in SI, and Howie went to Howard's house in Brooklyn. My bridesmaids and I literally just went about our day getting ready as Jon took pictures of our hair and makeup along with some shots of my cousins making their breakfast and my eating it. I really enjoyed seeing those pictures of everything we did. Jon then went around and took pictures of details in my parents' house, including my mom's calendar with our wedding date on it and scattered wedding things we had around. My mom was surprised that he was taking my shoes out on the balcony since the wood was rather worn and weathered, but Jon made it work! During that hour or two of preparation, I had a few ideas pop into my head as well. It was very easy to tell Jon what else I wanted, that I wanted pictures of my Build-A-Bear from Howard (yes, I am 27 with my own teddy bear) and I wanted him to capture my putting my vows together on cardstock since I'm interested in papercrafting. I never felt any awkwardness even though I thought it'd be odd having people I didn't know very well in the house, but it just never crossed my mind. Jon knew exactly how to handle all situations, and he was extremely polite and respectful to my parents who were just meeting him for the first time. My parents warmed up to him very quickly as did my bridesmaids. I was loving the way my morning was going! Jon got some last few shots before heading to the church. We had discussed earlier whether or not they'd be in the limo with us, but they preferred driving to and from the venues on their own. It worked out better that way because they were there to get arrival shots. It was also nice to have some moments in the limo with my parents and my 2 bridesmaids. Jon and Howie also communicated with each other to make sure that Howard was in the church where he couldn't see me before the ceremony. They literally made things easier on us and took charge of a lot of the things I would normally feel I had to handle myself. The benefit of having two photographers working together is that not only did we have separate "getting ready" photos, we also got two different views during the ceremony. One stayed at the front, and one stayed at the back when I was walking down the aisle so we didn't feel like anything was missing when we got our pictures. They caught the sentimental moments, the glances and faces Howard and I made to each other, and even the funny ones, like when our best man handed us the wrong rings! They really captured the moments, which was important especially since we didn't have an official videographer. When the ceremony was over, we had to take group photos at the front of the sanctuary. This was a little stressful for me because both of our families are rather large. Plus, everyone and their grandmother had a camera, which meant we were standing there with the same people for longer than needed! I was getting a little impatient because I wanted to get to our venue at Snug Harbor to take pictures with our bridal party. If Jon and Howie felt any of the impatience that we were feeling, they didn't show it at all. What was great was that they took a picture of the huge group taking pictures of us! It definitely was a memory that we might not have wanted to have at the moment, but it's funny to see it now when the wedding is in the past! Eventually we left the church and took the limo to the location of our reception. We dropped off our belongings in the bridal suite and then headed out on the grounds to take photos. Jon and Howie worked very well as a team, coming up with ideas for spots to take photos, testing the lighting, and doing all the technical stuff that I didn't understand at all. I just really enjoyed the fact that I could trust them with the photos and not worry about anything. After some great shots with our bridal party, Jon and Howie sent them back to eat during the cocktail hour so that Howard and I could have a more private session for just the two of us. This was suggested to us by Dreamlite, and we couldn't have been happier about it! We didn't really think much about it earlier, but if they hadn't encouraged us to set that time aside, we would've lost out on the majority of the pictures Howard and I really love! They helped us out, giving us pointers in how to pose since before this point, Howard and I were all about those one-handed shots! We also told them during our Panera meeting that it was a little strange for us to be kissing in front of others, so they were very mindful of that fact. It worked out extremely well that we didn't have an audience during our session! It was just a lot more personal and private, which we really enjoyed! When we returned for the reception, things moved very quickly. I didn't see Jon and Howie as often since I was so consumed with everyone that was around, but in reality, they were everywhere because we got pictures of everything! I wanted pictures of the food; they got it. I wanted pictures of all my DIY touches; they got them. The two-person team really works because one of them was always around to capture moments while the other could photograph details. At one point, they asked for our rings and got some creative shots that Howard and I both love! Howard and I had to go through the long process of taking pictures with every table. It was a lot of "Oh, he just went to the bathroom" or "I don't know; she was just here," and I was wanting it all to be over with faster. Howie followed us around without any problems, and I apologized numerous times for how long it was taking, but it didn't bother him at all. I guess Jon and Howie have seen and experienced it all! While we were dealing with those necessary but "boring" photos, Howie got a great shot of the table photo in the screen of someone's iPhone! I liked how even in the more typical rounds of photographs, the two of them could still see other creative opportunities. When the dancing finally picked up during the last hour, Jon and Howie caught so many of the hilarious moments. They weren't afraid to literally get down on the floor to get the right shots. Those were some of my favorites as well because everyone was just having fun, and they caught their laughter and enjoyment on camera. At the end of reception, we said goodbye to our guests and were about to say goodbye to Jon and Howie. Thankfully, they had kept in mind my request for photos with THE chair, so they set up a little area for a quick photo shoot. I'm so glad that they remembered my list of must have photos so that it didn't have to cross my mind. I was so relieved that the day was over, but I was also extremely glad that Dreamlite had made the day go by so smoothly! What made the whole experience working with Dreamlite even better was that they posted teaser photos on their website the very next day! Even though we got to see some pictures from our friends on Facebook, it was amazing to get a glimpse of what our professional photos would look like! Then instead of having to wait months and months like I know others have had to do, we got our two wedding CDs within a month! Would we recommend choosing Dreamlite? You betcha! Will we personally find a way to use them again? Definitely! Even though it's still way too early for this (we've been married for less than 3 months; I don't know why people are asking ...), Howard and I have already discussed how fun it'll be to get some family shots once we begin having kids.

Dreamlite photography was absolutely amazing!!! I was so stressed out because my husband had an emergency back surgery a month before our wedding. I informed John about the situation and he was able to work around our tight schedule. John took time out to assist me with picking out a gorgeous area for our engagment photos. He was very patient with my husband's back condition and took extra time to accommodate our situation.
We hired John and Howie for our 4/7/12 wedding and we highly recommend them for weddings, special events, parties, etc. John and Howie went beyond my needs by capturing the special moments of my incredible wedding. We had a morning wedding, John came extra early just to take pictures of the bride getting ready. It was very thoughtful of him. While Howie was taking pictures on the groom side, my husband and his friends are very playful and gave Howie a hard time, but it was all in fun and Howie was able to capture the silly side of my husband. The side I haven't seen in a few months due to his back surgery. It was incredible to see the smile and laughter on my husband and his groomens.
There was another moment when we were saying our "I dos" and the priest mentioned my passing sister, mother and father and a breeze flew by us and the crown, it brought tears to my eyes and know that my family was with us. And seeing it on pictures was priceless. Theres no words that can express that moment for us.
I work with children with autism and invited a few families to join me on my special day. I had two students that was very dear to my heart and wanted to slow dance with them, John and Howie was able to capture all the find details in his photos. I was so emotional while dancing with my students. The families truly appreciate it and it means the world to me when I was to share these photos with the families.

We loved Dreamlite! They did both our engagement and wedding photos and we had a great time working with them. For people like us that aren't born model material, Dreamlite helped us feel comfortable and look natural. When we had concerns, they were very responsive and willing to work with us.

Don't worry if you're from out of state, halfway through my wedding planning process, I had to move to Illinois. Dreamlite was easy to get in touch with and communicate with. When we got back our wedding pics, there was just so much energy and fun that they were able to capture. They made ordinary things look extraordinary. We were very pleased.

I love Dreamlite's style: clear, crisp storytelling that captured our wedding day just the way we wanted it to. Jon & Howie listened to our vision/thoughts, had fun with us, and produced great photos for us. I really appreciated the quick turnover; we had our wedding photos much sooner than I thought we would!

Their photography is honest and sincere -- no filters, no grainy shots, no vignettes, nothing that looks like sophisticated Instagramming. The photos are not edited with a heavy hand and provide a photo-journalistic view to your wedding day. We have had many compliments on our wedding photos and I'm still grateful to Dreamlite Photography for capturing our wedding day.

These guys are great. Great communication, catering to your needs and requests. I have seen them working at other weddings besides my own too, so I have a good idea of what they're like in action. They work tirelessly, and you can tell they are devoted to their passion and art.
