Worth All the Money

Hiring and working with Megan of Down Annie Lane was worth all of the money. Being a long-distance bride can be nerve-wracking, especially when it comes to the small details. Prior to the wedding, we had several coordination calls with Megan going over details of the wedding, such as schedule and decor
.
Megan's decor rental option was a lifesaver for us. It totally took the pressure off of having to purchase, transport, set up, and takedown. On the wedding day, Megan and her assistant Alecia rocked it! If anything went wrong, I did not know about it. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful thanks to Megan and Alecia. Weddings can be stressful but Megan was able to take so much stress off. I HIGHLY recommend Megan.

Perfect Wedding Weekend

Hiring DAL was one of the best decisions we made. Megan went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. We hired DAL for our wedding planning, decorating and our rehearsal dinner. Our venue was decorated beautifully, and we were able to enjoy both nights without worrying about anything. Megan took care of the coordination of all of my vendors and created the perfect wedding timeline. Our wedding weekend was better than I could have ever hoped for and I owe a lot of credit and thanks to Megan and her assistant.

Toni and Joy with Down Annie Lane are simply wonderful! They go above and beyond to ensure that your wedding is everything you envision. They are incredibly affordable, and they have great connections around town to keep prices reasonable. They have connections with great vendors in town but are also open to finding further options or specific vendors as desired. Toni and Joy are darling people and were my biggest ally as I planned my wedding. They truly went above and beyond in their services and treat you like family. I highly recommend them to help plan your wedding!

These ladies are the best decision that my husband and I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. We hired them over a year and a half out from our date for full services. Even with the amount of weddings they do, I never felt like I was ignored-- they really love what they do and working with the bride & groom!! Lovely ladies to work with and 100% recommend.

There are no words to describe how amazing these ladies are. Being a destination bride, I don't know how this wedding would've happened without them! They made sure everything ran smoothly, and handled all the decor, meetings, etc. It was like hanging out with family, and i'm going to miss coming down to new orleans!

I had someone make my silk flowers for my wedding and when I finally got them back (a month over due) they were absolutely unacceptable and falling apart. It was only 2 weeks before my wedding. I was in tears!!! i called My officiant who in turn contacted Miss Toni and explained the situation and the deadline. Miss Toni didn't even know me but she stepped up and not only did my flowers beautifully and finished in plenty of time, she wouldn't even let me pay her for her time or reimburse her for the additional supplies she purchased. They turned out BEAUTIFUL and I can't thank her enough!!!!!

Joy and Toni provided great recommendations for my daughter's destination wedding in New Orleans. They were great at accommodating our travel schedules and had appointments set for the days we were able to visit for venues, floral, catering... Both of these ladies were attentive to what my daughter envisioned for her wedding and made it happen. I would highly recommend their service.

Joy and Toni were fantastic wedding planners! My fiancé and I worked with them for our wedding and they went above and beyond. They helped us in every way possible, and really worked to help us enjoy the week of the wedding without stress! The day of the wedding they took care of everything, and all we had to do was enjoy the moment! My fiancée, family and I's expectations were exceeded in every way, and we would highly recommend them to other brides!

I can't not speak enough about how amazing DAL is. They were a gift to me and my now husband. They allowed us to have the most fun and amazing wedding, and also provided me with much needed venting/therapy sessions through the whole process. They are truly amazing women, and are flexible, resourceful and wonderful. I did not worry about anything on my wedding day and they managed any of my difficulties or freak outs leading up. I would not have been able to afford a wedding planner without them and I surely would have not had the wedding I had if I hadn't found them. Thank you so much Toni and Joy.

My mom, sister & I met Toni & Joy of Down Annie Lane at the Bridal Expo at the Pontchartrain Center. They were so friendly that when the time came to pick a wedding planner, we decided to go with them. They were reasonably priced and flexible to meet me when I could (given my crazy work schedule). They always had a good sense of humor to help reduce the stress of wedding planning, and they made sure we were on schedule with planning. They were a great help with running the wedding rehearsal since my venue did not have someone to do this. The day of, they made everything go smoothly & beautifully (they did the bouquets, boutonnieres & centerpieces). They also have an inventory of decorations that you can use as part of the service. Overall, they were great planners, and I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking for wedding planning help!

I absolutely adored Toni and Joy, they kept me sane and happy for many months!! My wedding turned out beautiful and exactly the way I pictured it!!! They did all of the decorations, we used all of their vendors, and most of all they kept me in my budget!!!

Toni and Joy are great!! I was already too far into planning my wedding myself to need a planner but what I did need was a decorator for the day of. These ladies really came through for me. The decor was beautiful as were all of the bouqets! I was extremely happy and got so many compliments. I can not say enough about these ladies and what a joy they are to work with!

Toni and Joy were such a God send. I was an out of town bride on a budget, and they were able to provide amazing vendors for a great price. They were always available to take calls and put my anxiety at ease. The decor they provided was SO helpful as well as absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend this duo to any bride who wants to stay on budget. Our guests thought our wedding cost about twice the actual cost and that was all because of Toni and Joy. Thanks ladies!

We hired Down Annie Lane at the very last minute to handle day of wedding coordinating and to tie up a few loose ends/help me develop a wedding day timeline for our vendors and very large, out of town, wedding party.
OMG, did they do so much more than that! From our first conversation which went something like “If I understand you correctly, your wedding is in 2 weeks…” Joy and Toni hit the ground running. Both ladies were at my house the next evening for a meeting, where they got to work saving me money and literally taking work, like our DIY second line hankies, off of my dining room table and home to do.
Although all of our vendors were paid in full by the time we hired Down Annie Lane, Joy and Toni were still able to save us approximately $1,800 by streamlining our day-of timeline in a way that made some of our planned expenses, such as additional hotel rooms, unnecessary. The savings more than made up for their modest coordinating fees, but that wasn’t the point of the changes. Joy and Toni simply have the experience and skills to coordinate the logistics that made my wedding day run smoothly, and eliminate costs that would not have added value for us.
Joy and Toni are so modest. Besides jumping right in and taking over all wedding logistics in the last couple weeks, they were will help with anything!
Down Annie Lane was formed in honor of Toni’s daughter, who was a beautiful and smart bride-to-be. The work these two best friends do is a real tribute to her. By your wedding day, they will feel like family, as if you have 2 extra moms in the room (if your mom was a professional wedding coordinator)! Our real moms (and everyone else who encountered them from vendors to wedding party) loved them too!

Joy and Toni are amazing!!! At first I was more interested in day of planning, but decided to go a little further. By the time I decided to go with them, I already had my venues reserved and picked a photographer on my own. I had big things out of the way and wasn't sure how much help I would need.... but I was wrong. They ended up keeping me on track and making sure I had everything taken care of that I needed. It's great to have people with experience helping out. Joy and Toni always made me feel so comfortable, almost like family. Everything went perfect the day of the wedding! I am really going to miss meeting up with them to go over details :(

Our wedding plans took a leap from San Antonio, Texas to New Orleans, Louisiana, as we decided to make our day even more memorable. We had the daunting task of coordinating over the Texas state line, everything from venue, decorations, permits, and even our prized second line. Our matron of honor connected us to various wedding coordinators, but one stood out to us: Down Annie Lane. Upon visiting their website, and reading their story, we felt even more compelled to give them a call to see how we could work together. From the moment we spoke on the phone to Toni and Joy, it was as if the planets aligned; they really are very modest when they say they ‘take care of everything and anything’, and yes, they excel at helping brides on a budget. Not only were they attentive and found ways to maximize our budget, they devoted so much time to our every questions, concerns, and inquiries. It really felt as if we were the only couple they had on their books, constantly keeping and open line of communication and being thorough and precise with their information. We arrived a month before our wedding to apply for our wedding license, and finally had the opportunity to meet Toni and Joy face to face. Per their request, we brought the majority of our decorations, wedding favors, cake toppers, etc,, and they willing took ownership of them to have them ready day of. Fast forward to our big day, Toni and Joy were magnificent, being our Wedding fairies, making sure all our wedding party, guests, and families were taken care of; attending to all details for our ceremony, reception, and second line; not to mention they made sure all our personal decorations were packaged safely. All we can say about Down Annie Lane is that anyone who is planning on having a wedding in NOLA should stop what they’re doing right now, and reach out to Toni and Joy. Toni & Joy were an absolute Godsend for our wedding!! I was really only interested in day of event coordination at first and didn't like the idea of wedding planners- boy was I wrong!!! They are the best thing that happened to my wedding (besides my husband!) and I am convinced I would have called the whole thing off and eloped without them. I could list all kinds of examples of how detailed, thoughtful and effective Down Annie Lane was when working out our wedding details and vendors- but the best things about them are harder to describe. They treat you like family and make you feel so important. My fiance and I commented a lot on how focused and dedicated they are, we often felt like we were the only wedding they were planning even though they had many other brides at the time, I believe even a wedding the weekend after ours! They went out of their way to include my mom who lives out of state, and were always candid with me. And our bridal party loved them too! Down Annie Lane planned my party to the last detail. The transformation of my home was awesome! Everything was planned uniquely for us. Lots of little details added to the success of the party. I highly recommend them.

I am 30 days out from our wedding, and I could not have made it without Joy and Toni. Toni is very pragmatic and straight forward which is very helpful with so much of a wedding based on emotions. Joy scrapes me off the ceiling when I'm having a stressful moment. These two together are the perfect team. I am from Louisiana, but planning from DC where I live now. They picked us up from the airport and took us to every appointment we had while we were there for four days. That's service! I can't say enough great things about them. I purchased the full package from Down Annie Lane approximately 9 months before my wedding. They were awesome in the beginning and scheduled meetings often to make sure I was on track. I did most of the work myself in terms of searching for the venue, DJ, officiant, hair, wedding attire, etc. They were very helpful in providing makeup, second line and photo booth contacts. On the day of the wedding I was very disappointed in Down Annie Lane. For the prior months I was communicating with 2 of the planners and only 1 showed up on the wedding day. We discussed decor for months but they did not decorate the venue with what we discussed. In fact, there were no decorations at all in my ceremony room. My jaw dropped when I was walking down the aisle to no aisle runner..or even a single decoration flower in the room. The only thing they put was a backdrop and wrinkled chair covers (they didn't even iron or steam them). We discussed them putting flower arrangements, decoration pillars, candles in the aisle....there was none of that. Before I walked down the aisle I had to direct the bridal party order of entry into the ceremony as if the planner was not there at rehearsal the night before. I had to grab one of my friends so she could basically take over as the wedding planner throughout the event. There was a mixup with the makeup artist where the planners told me they would do my makeup 1 hour later than the artist was told. The list goes on and on of how disappointed I was. Despite the laundry list of issues, my wedding guests enjoyed the wedding.
Since the wedding I have been trying to get in touch with Toni about a vendor and she refuses to respond to my text messages. Overall, I was disappointed in their services. My suggestion to other future brides is that you check up after them to make sure they follow through on decor and that they know your program. Make sure you see all of the decorations they say they have.

If I can help one bride not go through this…

It has taken me over a year to write this review as I wanted time to write an honest review free from emotion or fresh anger.

Megan was incredibly rude and disorganized throughout the entire process. I felt like I had to tiptoe around her. So rude that I had vendors commenting on it and apologizing on her behalf.

I didn’t ask for anything custom and was going with the flow of what was available yet somehow we were several tens of thousands over a budget she set (an already healthy budget).

Anything beyond the most basic items (flooring, chairs, decor) was simply “not available” with no attempt from Megan to search for the items. This left me to find the vendors for items I wanted. These vendors were not hard to find and a simple google search found the items I was looking for with other New Orleans vendors. The ladies at the Elms Mansion were so helpful and kind to me even though I did not have our wedding with them (I just needed someone to guide me in any direction).

Brides who unfortunately are in the same situation, you are not crazy, you are not the only one. Other reviews buried on wedding websites also show similar experiences.

I write this in hopes that your special day isn’t tainted by a terrible attitude from your wedding planner. When spending so much time and money on one day you will be thankful you did a little more research and picked an established company with a good portfolio who will treat you well with kindness and do the job you paid them to do during such a stressful time. They really do make or break your wedding.

I have emails, texts, and pictures to prove what a disaster this process was. All which prove organization and a positive attitude would have changed the outcome. My husband and I are able to laugh about it now because at the end of the day what is important was our union surrounded by family but if I can help one bride not go through what we went through I’m happy to speak up.
