Incredible Musician

Doug was an absolute treasure to have as part of our wedding experience. His own repertoire is deep, but he also learned a few specific numbers just for us that really added to the enjoyment of the day. He is a pleasure to work with and I'd hire him again without hesitation for any event, wedding or otherwise. In addition to all of the above, Doug is also a marvelous musician and entertainer. Our guests were asking about him all night and where we found him.

Wedding Ceremony & Cocktail Hour

Doug was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. He played during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. For the processional I wanted to use a certain song. He recorded his version of the song and sent it to me. It sounded great. We received so many compliments from our guests on how great he sounded. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Excellent!

Doug was absolutely incredible! We used him for our outdoor, summer wedding ceremony & cocktail hour and he did an amazing job. So easy to work with, he sent us samples when we were considering what song to use and was very responsive & professional. He did everything perfectly during the ceremony & moved smoothly into cocktail hour. Our guests have not stopped raving about him and thoroughly enjoyed his pleasant and chill vibe. Highly recommend!

Amazing Professional!

My husband and I were so thankful for Doug's flexibility when we moved our wedding time and location for weather reasons. He was so helpful and went above and beyond to help us on our day! We got so many compliments about the music and his beautiful guitar playing helped set the tone for the ceremony!

Fantastic guitarist and performer

Created a perfect atmosphere!

Doug Edgell Trio were wonderful to work with, and exceeded all of our expectations. For our ceremony, Doug played a beautiful acoustic guitar selection that was perfect for the procession and recession. For cocktail hour and the reception, the trio played a wide variety of jazz, funk, and popular hits. Our friends and family could not stop raving about how great the band was, and how much fun it was to have live music. We would highly recommend for any event!

Doug has been wonderful to work with. Not only is he a great musician, he's a great person and very customer service oriented. Skilled and profesional guitarist!

Doug was the perfect guitarist for our wedding! He played for both our ceremony and cocktail hour and both were wonderful. We received numerous comments on how much our guests enjoyed his playing. Doug arrived early and set up everything himself to make our lives super easy. He has a great catalog of songs to choose from and he plays them all wonderfully. Would definitely recommend!

Outstanding guitarist!

Doug is amazing! We hired Doug to play music during our wedding ceremony and to sing at our cocktail hour. He was excellent! In fact, my bridesmaids at first didn’t realize he was playing and thought we were playing music from online! I highly recommend Doug for any wedding services. We received so many compliments from our wedding guests. He was very easy to work which made wedding planning so much easier. Thank you, Doug!

Doug is a talented musician and a pleasure to work with. We used him for both of our daughter's weddings. Each girl had a very different style from the other- he learned some new selections on request and each service was beautifully accompanied by Doug. he is professional, kind and responsive.

Doug was amazing to work with! He was super responsive, professional, and flexible leading up to the wedding and made sure we were happy with everything. Doug played solo for our ceremony and we had the trio for our reception. Both were perfect and exactly what we were looking for! My husband and I hired Doug to play guitar during our outdoor garden ceremony. He was extremely responsive leading up to the day, and made the song selection process a breeze. He even took two special requests and executed playing them beautifully! Doug was on time/early and brought all of the equipment he needed. The music sounded beautiful, and was the perfect complement to our outdoor garden ceremony. If you're looking to add some live music to your wedding day, I highly recommend Doug!

Oh man, can they cook!

My wife and I hired Doug to play and sing during our cocktail hour this past February, and he also played at my brother's wedding last June. The entire experience of working with Doug was a pleasure! Possibly the kindest person you've ever met, and extremely attentive to all of your questions and needs. He is beyond talented and truly added a perfect element to our day! We had endless guests come up to us with wonderful things to say about his performance. Can't go wrong with Doug!

Doug Edgell was so easy to work with and he well-exceeded our expectations. We had Doug play during our ceremony and then had the band for a two-hour cocktail social following the ceremony. Despite the windy and cold conditions in West Virginia in May, they were so energetic and played wonderfully! We had many of our guests inquire if they were going to play for the whole reception because they were so great! I highly recommend Doug Edgell and the Doug Edgell band! They are wonderfully musicians, easy to work with and a fun time! We're planning on going to listen to them play when they're local at a restaurant or winery. Thank you Doug Edgell for such a memorable afternoon and putting up with the dreary weather!

Doug was absolutely wonderful. Reasonably priced, responsive, kind and willing to learn three new songs for us with no issues at all for a very low rate. We LOVED working with him and would urge anyone else to do so. We could not have asked for a better ceremony guitarist.

My partner and I had an outdoor venue-- Doug made the day all that special. He was accommodating to our music requests; paring that with his musical talent made the day perfect! His communication and professionalism was a major plus for us... and he is FUN! Once we heard his selections on You tube- we where sold !! We where so pleased with the his guitar talent, that we had to use his band for our reception the next day-- Those at the reception where commenting constatntly on their selections and how fun the group was have to have there-- They had people singing and dancing- we had a few there who had seen Doug played before and where excited that he was actually at our venue --

I knew Doug was the right guitarist when we saw his playlist. Our only disappointment was the rain which forced the cocktail hour inside. I still wish we could have heard Doug's voice and guitar fill the air outside Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall. He did sound great inside, however, and played all the favorites we requested. He was charming and professional. The crowd greatly enjoyed his performance during the cocktail hour. The volume was just right to fill the room without discouraging conversation. Many gathered in front of him just to enjoy his music. Thank you Doug! Yours was the best music of the evening.

This review is WAY overdue. I would highly recommend Doug. I live in Fort Worth, TX and found Doug on YouTube. He was playing the guitar of Marry Me by Train. I wanted to walk down the isle to this song but the lady we hired to play at our ceremony wasn't skilled enough to do it so Doug recorded and sent me a short version to walk down the isle to. I still love it to this day and hope he records a full version ;). Either way - I'd highly recommend hiring him locally or from a far. He is VERY talented and was SO awesome to create this for our special day!

Doug was absolutely AMAZING to work with! He always took time to answer all of our questions and provide suggestions for music when we needed help. Doug (and the two musicians that comprise his Trio) were wonderful! They are incredibly talented, so easy to work with, and completely elevated the employee function that I planned for 300+ to a whole new level. The range of music that they covered was huge. They arrived early, stayed late, and played almost constantly throughout the evening, taking just one very brief break. They are beyond professional, and yet also entirely approachable and friendly. I will definitely request their time and talents again!

I heard so many good comments about Doug and his guitar-playing during the wedding and in the days after! He is truly talented and made for one awesome ceremony and cocktail hour. He played a nice mix of newer pop hits and classic oldies and it could not have been more perfect!

Doug was so quick to get back to us from our original inquiry to book the band as well as throughout any questions we had from the time we booked them to the date of our event. They we able to work with any changes we needed which really took away a lot of stress in planning the event. The band looked great and played amazing. We typically get a DJ, but we wanted to change it up a bit this year, and we are so glad we did. Having them perform at our event really made the night extra special and everyone had a great time. We would definitely recommend them as well as book them again for our event next year!

We found Doug Edgell while he was performing at Narcissi Winery. Instantly, we fell in love with is music and had to book him for our daughter's wedding ceremony. Doug was extremely flexible during the week of the wedding since the ceremony eventually had to be moved due to weather. He also saved the day by performing during our cocktail hour (since our dj couldn't set up yet due to the change over of the ballroom). What a fantastic man to have!!!!

This band is absolutely a joy to work with. They are talented, professional and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They performed at our large non-profit gala and we received wonderful responses from our guests. We have also used them previously for holiday parties for our staff. Again, nothing but positive things to say.

Doug is the quintessential artist. His flexibility in adverse situations (especially with inclement weather) made my event perfect. His fellow artist compliment him well and their personalities and processionalism are unmatched. There is a reason he is booked weeks in advance so plan accordingly.

The Doug Edgell Band is a favorite - and it's not just me who thinks so! At our last event on 8/30/14, no fewer than four guests (that's 10% of the attendance) asked me for their name and "the lowdown," because they were enjoying the music so much. It's one thing to attend an event with music; it's quite another to track down the host to get contact info for the band because they're so good.

The Doug Edgell Band is a class act from start to finish! We have hired them on 3 separate occasions and they have impressed and inspired at each. I was lucky enough to find Doug on the internet by searching for a wedding guitarist in Pittsburgh. I listened to his recordings on YouTube and decided I was willing to take a chance. I cannot tell you how glad I am that I did! Even weeks after our wedding, I keep hearing how amazing our ceremony music was, and everyone is right. Doug made my day with his beautiful music.

They were so perfect. My guests and I enjoyed the evening listening to quality music, not the typical terrible "wedding music." He was friendly, flexible, worked with me easily, I can't say enough about Doug. I want to plan another event just so I can book them again!

Doug was so easy to work with. He was very prompt to respond to all of my emails. I asked him to learn the Forrest Gump Theme song for my walk down the isle and it turned out perfect! He even emailed me a recording of him playing the song prior to the wedding.

After seeing Doug and Kelly play at various venues, we were delighted to learn that they were available for our wedding. The experience exceeded our already high expectations. From the initial contact everything was seamless and easy. Doug's guitar work lent a wonderful background to our ceremony. He was good enough to learn "our song" for the reception set list, and the performance was perfect. Doug and Kelly are excellent musicians and perform a wide range of musical styles. They added a great deal to our wedding and helped make it a successful and memorable day.

Doug is talented and professional. He was very easy to work with - in fact, all we had to do was pick the music - he did the rest!

Doug Edgell is a very talented guitarist. He was very easy to work with, even just by communicating through email. He let me know exactly what he needed from me, and provided me with a list of his song choices. I asked Doug to prepare a special requested song to walk down the aisle to, and he did. The music was perfect for our outdoor ceremony and indoor/outdoor cocktail hour. It was perfect!

My husband and I had Doug Edgell as our guitarist for our wedding ceremony. He played before, during, and right after the ceremony as well. After finding Doug online and listening to some of his work we were very pleased! He has a wonderful selection of songs to pick from that he will play. Doug was very attentive through our planning process, always responding quickly to any questions that we had. Doug even went as far as making and providing me with sample recordings to practice with at our rehearsal after I had asked. He showed up hours before the starting time of our ceremony to make sure that he was setup and ready for our guests. The only regret that I have is not being able to hear more of his wonderful music on the day of my wedding, since I was of course in hiding before walking down the aisle! Doug was very easy to work with and I would most definitely recommend him if you're looking for a guitarist for your event!

I have had Doug work several of my company events and each time he and Kelly have been wonderful. I would highly recommend them and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful job they do, very entertaining. I cannot speak highly enough of them. They made my event(s). Doug provided amplified acoustic guitar music during our ceremony and cocktail hour and did an excellent job. He arrived early to setup his equipment and endured a lack a of shade during our sunny outdoor ceremony before moving for the cocktail hour. During the ceremony his music really lent to the overall mood we were looking for. Unfortunately I didn't get to listen much during the cocktail hour as I was getting pictures and attending to guests, but I liked what I did hear. Doug was friendly and professional both before and during the wedding, and he helped to make it a success. He is easy-going, flexible, and organized, reasonably priced and highly recommended.

So you are getting married and seeking the right person to perform the music for your ceremony. Stop looking and book Doug. Depending on where you are in the planning stages you are going to, or already have encountered the many different types of vendors that will provide a service for your big day. Some of these vendors will be a thorn in your side from the moment you book them, others will provide you an excellent service at a reasonable price. Doug is the later, he was simple to deal with, didn’t overcharge us because it was our wedding (lots of vendors will up the fee just because it’s your big day) and he provide an excellent service. So stop looking and shot Doug an email… you will not be disappointed.

Great music

This is a tough review to write because overall I was so happy with my experience. Doug and his band are amazing talents and my guests really enjoyed their music it was perfect for our brunch wedding. Doug also went out of his way to assist our officiant with her mic and was timely in communication and easy to work with. Be sure to confirm There was a mix up in the order of the songs that I walked down to which honestly was not a big deal to me but might be to others. Then on our first dance they started to play the wrong song when We questioned he insisted he had an text from me changing the song which made it awkward in front of my guests. After an awkward exchange we continued on with the song we wanted. And after he did apologize profusely as it was different bride that had texted him and he had confused them.
