We planned our wedding from the other side of the country and booked the Double Eagle sight unseen! It was a leap of faith, but Brooke and her team were so accommodating in sending us videos of the property and answering every little question we could think of. The professionalism and support made us feel comfortable enough to pursue our dream of getting married in the Sierras! That support continued throughout the whole process and the wedding itself. Many of our guests stayed onsite in either cabins or lodge rooms and they all had wonderful things to say about their stay.

Brooke was an absolute dream to work with. Super attentive and responsive from the first time we met and made our wedding weekend the magical event we were dreaming of.

From the first venue visit, Double-Eagle had some coordinator turn around. They we lucky and we were lucky the Brooke came into the picture. She absolutely slayed.

The restaurant and event staff were great as well. Food was fine. Restaurant manager was a sweetheart.

Everyone I interacted with in the Spa was fantastic. Desk staff there and massage therapists were incredible.

My only real sour grapes moment was the hotel front desk staff. One of them was great, the other two weren't very welcoming or accommodating despite Brooke's best efforts. Didn't catch names.

Resort itself had a lot of character. Decor was heavily influenced by the abandoned mining town of Bodie. Is that great for wedding vibes? Not really, but look just a little bit passed that at where you actually freaking are, and all of this is forgivable. You're in the freaking Sierras. It's gorgeous and magical, and well worth anything else, and Brooke really did an amazing job.

We just got married at the Double Eagle last weekend and it was a DREAM! Truly it is one of the most beautiful settings anyone could ask for. And the venue fee is more than reasonable. Definitely worth it.

Aside from the setting, the thing that really made this such a fantastic venue was the coordinator Brooke. She went above and beyond, both before and during our wedding weekend.

While I love the Double Eagle and plan to return many times, there are a few areas they could use some improvement in. The hotel reception is nearly impossible to get in touch with. They rarely answer the phone. But luckily Brooke helped personally so it was not a major issue. Additionally, the food is not the best, I hate to say. But it is totally fine for a wedding. We didn't care at all, and neither did our guests. If you are a big foodie and looking for a gourmet experience, I would just keep that in mind. But who really cares about the food at a wedding anyway? It was good enough and the rest of the amenities more than make up for it. Lastly, the rooms are very expensive and a bit overpriced... but it seems like that is the norm for the area. I will say, the spa is perfection!

Back to Brooke though... From the moment we signed the deal, she was so helpful. She answered all of my many questions and many emails for the entire year+ of planning the wedding. She was always responsive and sweet, and helped with anything I asked. Also very flexible in terms of any special requests we had. We went for a few visits and she always made the time to meet with us. Additionally, I had first visited before she started there and noticed a huge change after the came in. She was able to get a brand new tent put in to replace the older one, which made a big difference visually. And she completely transformed the bridal suite space (called the Bodie Room). It was stunning! I really felt like we were taken care of and I trusted her completely. She understands what brides want, and she will make sure you are happy on your big day! THANK YOU BROOKE!

My best friend had her wedding reception here at the restaurant of the Double Eagle resort. It was a rocky start with responsiveness until Brooke came on board. She was an amazing addition to the team, eased all of our nerves, answered all of our questions and super responsive to the bride. She was there every step of the way and we cannot thank her enough. Would highly recommend the Double Eagle and Brooke for your special day.

Double Eagle had everything we needed on site making our small ceremony and reception breathtakingly beautiful and easy. The ceremony location has a stunning backdrop. The reception area was private and perfect for our 55 person event. Communication was excellent with Stephen being very responsive and accommodating. Service was flawless with the reception food and drink. Absolutely a dream wedding for us.

I worked with Erica at Double Eagle in October 2019, and let me tell you, it was a pleasure! This June Lake venue is quaint and picturesque. Erica took time before the wedding to show us around the entire property for photo opportunities, from open fields to aspen groves to mountain vistas – the options were endless on this property for an idyllic mountain celebration.

We were so happy to find this absolute gem of a wedding venue. From the beginning, their coordinator Erica, was wonderful. She happily and promptly responded to all our questions in the many months of planning and worked with us to make sure all our guests were taken care of. During the wedding day and the days leading up, she was so attentive and made sure we felt comfortable and confident! The setting was an absolute dream and we couldn't believe how beautiful everything was on our big day!

Double Eagle was an absolute dream wedding venue! The location is awe inspiring and there are views in every direction. Our wedding coordinator, Erica, was perfect and made everything so easy for us. Weeks later family and friends are still talking about what a perfect location it is.

Our experience was unbelievably easy and you cannot beat the views and customer service throughout. Erica (our on-site coordinator) was amazing at executing all our wishes.

Our day was simply a fairytale and we couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect!! Erica kept us all calm, cool & collected as she orchestrated the entire evening and we can’t thank her enough!

My wedding turned out beautifully despite the day turning chilly and rainy. The wedding coordinator Athina was able to accommodate my dream ceremony location with the most spectacular views anyone could ever ask for. She also kept my reception on track which was a big help. We were able to work well together fixing any minor issues that arose with quick thinking.

The Double Eagle Resort has a beautiful setting for both the ceremony and reception. Quaint resort rooms and cabins also made the destination wedding worth it for all of our guests. Athina and Darla provide exceptional friendly service. They are happy to accommodate your needs to make your dream wedding come true!

I can't say enough great things about Double Eagle!! I had my wedding there this past weekend and we were blown away with how smooth everything went! We stayed in a cabin and it was HUGE! Full kitchen, comfy beds, living room, nice bathroom, large patio, everything was amazing. The staff was always friendly and professional.

And then there's Athina and Darla (the wedding coordinators)...where do I begin with their amazingness?! From the start to finish my husband and I received nothing but the best service from them both. Our main point of contact was Athina. She is one of the reasons we booked the venue without even seeing it in person first! After my very first email to Athina inquiring about this venue, I knew this was the one. She was fast in her response, didn't hesitate to send me any extra pictures I needed, and answered all of our questions thoroughly. On the day of the rehearsal and wedding, Athina was cool, calm and collected the entire time. Never getting flustered, never showing any ounce of stress. My family and guests loved her! Her calm demeanor made everyone around her feel at ease and stress-free.

This venue is hands down the most beautiful venue I've seen. The views of the lakes, Carson's Peak, the mountains, the deer roaming freely around the resort, the relaxing spa, the family atmosphere and everything in between is the reason why my family and I will be coming to this resort for years to come.

We had our wedding here on August 8, 2015. With every wedding there is stress and anxiety, because every bride wants their wedding to be perfect. All I can say is Allie and her team did an amazing job. The venue was beautiful, the food was great and all of the staff was extremely professional and ensured that our day went as smooth as possible. Allie ran the show, and her hard work paid off. We couldn't have asked for a more amazing day! Thank you Thank you Thank you! Also this venue is extremely affordable, and they work with you, and your budget!

We got married here on August 22, 2015. We chose this venue because of its location and its beautiful scenery in the mountains. My now husband and I had been in the area a month prior and when we got engaged, we started looking for wedding venues. Then we stumbled upon the Double Eagle. While it is true that there was a change in management/wedding coordinators during the planning, the change was good. The wedding coordinators Allie Marenco and Darla Ross are some of the nicest people to deal with. Brides have tons of questions and both Allie and Darla quickly responded to emails, which I appreciated. All brides are nervous about how their wedding will come together and play out, but these two really helped make me less nervous about everything. Our wedding turned out to be amazing. All of our guests told us that it was a beautiful wedding and that they had a great time. A few guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to (besides their own of course :)). They loved the venue and the food. Jake Wallace is the head chef and he did a great job with the food/drinks. The rooms at the Double Eagle are nice too. Allie and Darla took care of everything on the day of the wedding and I did not have to worry about anything. I would highly recommend the Double Eagle to anyone that is wanting to get married in the mountains. You won't regret it.

I got married here on July 4th 2015. As the wedding planning started it was all going great. The original wedding planning went to work somewhere else. I felt like I was left in the dark. No one to talk to about wedding details. Finally double eagle found a new wedding planner thank god. At first I wasn't to sure about her but ally turned out to be amazing. I could not have ask for anything better. Even after all the confusion it turn at amazing. Beautiful location. All my guest loved the location. The day of the wedding Ally did it all. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I would highly recommend this location to anyone that is wanting to get married in the mountains.. Thank you double eagle and a special thank you to ALLY...

Jessica and the Double Eagle were a fantastic place to have our September 27 wedding. It rained that day, and though we had planned on an outside ceremony and rehearsal, everybody did a wonderful job moving everything inside. I didn't have a single worry the whole day, and was able to enjoy myself. Our rehearsal dinner was in the restaurant the night before, and everyone had such a good time we must have spent a good four hours there. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for something a little out of the way and rustic .

Most amazing place ever!! Absolutely perfect and their event planner, Jessica Horn, was the glue that held everything together. She's amazing and great to work with! =] The spa is incredible and highly recommend that anyone planning an event at the resort, book spa services asap! The only mild concern I would have is a few of the room charges to guests were incorrect, but were corrected immediately upon calling the resort. Great service!

We had the absolute pleasure of getting to see our wedding vision come true at the Double Eagle Spa in June Lake, CA. Everything from our amazing wedding coordinator, Jessica Horne; to the exquisite 5 star dinner that Chef Robert prepared for us, was nothing short of perfection. This venue gave myself as a bride to truly make my vision come to life. The ceremony space is breathtaking, perfect for our photos. The accommodations were endless to us, it was like we were treated like royalty for our special weekend! Anything we needed, Jessica and her team were right on it. They will be recommended not only by myself, but all 85 guests that attended. I can not say how many times someone came up to me and told me, " I have been to plenty of weddings in my lifetime, and nothing compares to this one!" As a bride I knew my day went perfect for myself and my husband, but for a guest to travel from all over the country to enjoy there time on our special day, really made everything worth while! Thank you Double Eagle Resort and Spa, you are amazing!

Jessica is everything a bride wants in an event coordinator. Organized, flexible and sweet as pie. We had so many details to contend with and she handled them all with flying colors and a huge smile on her face. Anything I needed that weekend, she personally took care of. It took all the stress off of me. Such a joy to work with her! Everything went smoothly, beautifully and according to my vision. I am very lucky that Double Eagle has Jessica!
She also arranged my flowers for me. We bought from an online wholesaler and as if she didn't have enough on her plate, she was happy to do all the floral work for the wedding as well. Also done beautifully. She has a real eye for design and is a very talented women. A left and right brainer, which is exactly what you need in a wedding coordinator!!!!!! XOXO JESS!

Where do I begin to review Double Eagle Resort & Spa? First of all the venue location itself... please - it's gorgeous! You are surrounded by such green lush natural landscaping up against these majestic mountains. The drive into June Lake alone is truly the most picturesque! Like a postcard come to life. The ceremony next to Ron's Pond, then a cocktail hour next to a babbling brook, and a romantic reception under a tent! It truly was the most amazing venue for my daughter's wedding and exceeded all of my expectations!

Double Eagle's grounds and buildings are the perfect blend of rustic chic. So much inspiration can be drawn from just being there. We used several pieces of furniture and props they had to enhance the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception areas.

Jessica Horn and her amazing staff were more than accommodating, generous, skillful, and professional. They worked tirelessly to help bring our vision to life... and then they cleaned it all up for me! I am a very detail oriented person, and we had a very specific vision in mind... and it was truly a joy to work one on one with Jessica to make the most romantic and magical wedding event for my daughter.

Let me also please just mention the food. Holy smokes! We chose three entrees: Filet mignon, Duck, and Halibut. Quite frankly the best filet mignon and duck I've ever tasted! My daughter and her husband are quite the "foodies" and were very specific about the food. Everyone was treated to a delicious meal... and so many guests raved about how good it was. Their chef is just beyond amazing!

We also had a continental breakfast the next morning- which was a really great way to meet back up with everyone and chat about the wedding and say our goodbyes. I cannot tell you how many of the guests told me how beautiful and perfect the venue was, and what an epic wedding weekend it was. I truly want to give a huge shout out to Jessica for being incredible at her job!

This is a magical venue! The people and service really make the difference! Athina is hard working and executed an amazing wedding for us; she brought many important details to our attention along the way and is always happy, sweet and polite. The Double Eagle is flexible on so many things and our event felt very personal.

We highly recommend booking your wedding ceremony and reception at the Double Eagle! The venue is absolutely beautiful and all of the staff were a pleasure to work with! We can't wait to come back and visit soon.

The place was very romantic and I couldn't of been happier with the venue.

Although everyone was very nice and I felt they truly cared to make the experience wonderful on the day of my wedding, I often found it frustrating to get a hold of anyone in a timely manner prior to the wedding. I would call and leave messages via phone and email and would never get a response, until I just kept calling and got a hold of someone. Often, I realized the front desk did not forward my messages. In addition, there was a young gentleman at the front desk with a beard that every time I spoke to him was short tempered and unprofessional. I also overheard him being rude and unaccommodating to other clients while waiting my turn. These clients all walked away frustrated and angry. I am a very patient and even tempered person, but even I thought they way he acted was not necessary to the most simplest requests, including when a client asked about why her wifi in the room didn't work - he replied - "I don't know what you want me to do about it." Everyone else at the front desk was very professional and kind.

The rooms were very clean and enjoyable to stay in. Service at the spa and restaurant was exceptional.

Overall, I was very happy and the staff did a wonderful job.

We had our wedding at Double Eagle, using the grounds, spa, hotel rooms, and restaurant while we were there for the weekend. Along with us, most of our guests stayed at the resort and had generally good experiences with the hotel. Our ceremony and a cocktail hour was outside on the lawn, and our reception was in the Eagle’s Landing Restaurant. Overall we had a great experience with the resort, but there are some things that would be useful to know for other couples considering this venue:

PROS:
-The setting is unforgettable and dramatic.
- The food is delicious
- They have a lot of event supplies on site
- The staff is accommodating and friendly
- Allie, their wedding coordinator, was responsive, accommodating, and organized.
- It is possible to have people stay at the resort and walk to your events
- The spa is a beautiful place to get ready, and for your guests to relax

CONS:
- They’ve had a lot of turnover in event coordinator staffing, so when we first started planning our wedding (a year in advance) it was really hard to get anyone on the phone, and the people we did talk to were not very interested in hearing what we had to say. However, after we had a great conversation with one of their managers, we were convinced we could make it work, and once Allie got on the job, things went much smoother.
- All of Mono County has a 10 pm noise curfew, so plan to wrap up the party early
- There is a lot of wildlife in the area, which can come as a shock. Some of my party encountered a bear roaming around in the dark.
- It is expensive to rent out rooms here, so some of your younger guests may want to stay elsewhere. We solved this by having our friends jointly rent a cabin and split costs.
- You are unlikely to rent out the whole resort, so there will be others roaming around

That being said, these small hiccups could in no way dampen the joy, beauty, or fun of the event and the people with the Double Eagle were lovely and friendly.

I really enjoyed the venue and was very impressed with the quality of linens and things. My guests enjoyed the menu and I'm very happy with how everything turned out. I did feel that communication was hard to come by at times, but I know that this venue is incredibly busy and it's basically organized by a single person - so I understand her business. She's very sweet and caring and I'm very happy to have worked with her.

We chose this venue, for our wedding, for it´s sheer beauty and natural surroundings. It is a beautiful spot for any event. It was our dream mountain wedding! Our rooms were well kept and nice.
During the time since booking and our wedding: management changed twice, the wedding coordinator was let go and a new one was not hired for a while. Once management and coordinator were in place I felt much better. They agreed with all of our accommodations which were promised by the previous management and coordinator.
However, they double booked the venue, cancelled some of our rooms, lost some of our room reservations, and were unprofessional about their mistakes. Each person I spoke with blamed someone else for the fault.
On the day of the wedding they were rude, passive aggresive, not dressed professionally, lost track of time or telling us what was next, forgot to bring food to the bride and groom during photos, and overall very unhelpful and unsettling.
We did have our perfect mountain wedding, it just came with a lot of unnecessary stress when in fact they should be taking the stress off of the bride and groom!

I got married at the Double Eagle Resort & Spa in September, 2016. We chose the DE because of the beautiful location, opportunity for most of our guests to stay on site, and the fact that they offered an "all inclusive" package with an on-site wedding coordinator.

First, let me say that at the end of the day our wedding was incredible and we loved every minute of it. The setting was gorgeous, 90% of our guests stayed on site, and we had an absolutely magical time.

However, our wonderful experience at the wedding itself is in direct contrast with the planning experience. We booked our date exactly one year in advance, and the planning process was an absolute nightmare. To give you an idea:

• The coordinator who gave us a tour of the venue was fired several months after we signed our contract and we were not notified.
• The new coordinator, Athina, does not return phone calls and regularly took up to two weeks to return emails.
• Athina seems to be very disorganized and could not remember even basic details from conversation to conversation. If she could not remember the "big" things (like the time our ceremony was going to start, or that we had a band instead of a DJ) how could I trust her to remember the little things?
• The Double Eagle is very sloppy when it comes to paperwork. All of our order forms were wrong, head counts were wrong – everything they sent to us needed to be double checked for accuracy.

Ultimately we ended up hiring another vendor to take over the final details for the wedding. When the Double Eagle Coordinator didn't show for our rehearsal, the other vendor was there. When the Double Eagle staff set the ceremony chairs up in the wrong formation (surprise!) the other vendor made sure they got fixed.

So, all in all – the Double Eagle is a beautiful place, but their planning / management are incredibly unorganized and will drive you nuts. If you go this route, hire an external coordinator!

It was absolutely a beautiful venue and the food was good but I would definitely not recommend it unless there are some major changes with some staff and how they present themselves professionally.

I live in eastern sierra area and I knew I wanted my wedding in June. My parents met and got engaged at June Lake and it was a way to incorporate my dad who is no longer with us.

I am just going to get to the chase, I am so disappointed with how my wedding was handled. The wedding coordinator Brooke had terrible communication throughout my time working with her and unorganized. She would send me things with different prices then what we agreed upon in the beginning. She also put something in the contract about getting our own keg which not possible due to liquor license laws that she should have known. I contacted her multiple times to meet with her to make sure everything went smoothly. It never seemed like she recorded the information we talked about. The set up somehow changed the day before the wedding. She barely helped during the rehearsal, she just sat there while my officiant took charge since he noticed she wasn’t doing her job. Brooke also stated they would help with the game set up and didn’t and told my guests to. Honestly I’m so confused why I had to pay 600 for a wedding coordinator fee.

The service staff was unprofessional and I felt super disrespectful. The bar tender looked like she didn’t want to be there The servers and bar tender ate my appetizers in front of guests( and we paid per piece!). The bar tender drank the beer during the reception which was not only disrespectful, unprofessional, it is illegal in the state of California.
My wedding should have been the easiest simplest wedding for them with under 50 people. I also had people at the wedding who have worked for the company as a wedding coordinator and as a general manager of their sister property. My guests were appalled of the behavior they witnessed and so am I. My guests even cleared her own plates in front of the staff while they just stood there.

We did get a small refund but not enough in my mind that made the shit show acceptable. The GM knew about what happened and never approached us to apologize or try to make things right. I ended up calling him and he said he was investigating it but was more focused talking to one of my guests (the gm of snow creek) then to make it right with me or my mom who spent a good amount of money.
I feel horrible choosing this place and having paid them and then have them treat the wedding this way. Honestly I could not recommend this place to anyone with a good conscience unless major things change. The GM should have been aware of what was happening and the wedding coordinator should have been aware of her staff and made sure her staff knew how to be professional.

I hope my experience was a fluke. However, talking to other people in the area made it seem as though it might not be. I contacted this venue in July 2017 and received a response in JANUARY 2018. My husband and I had our hearts SET on getting married at the double eagle and quickly found out that their turn over rate of wedding coordinators is unheard of. When we finally heard a response, a new coordinator contacted me as if no time had passed at all. I don't know what they're doing up there, but it is very obvious that something is not right and needs to change. Some of our local vendors confirmed that working with the Double Eagle is not always a pleasant experience. I'm glad other people have had great experiences with the Double Eagle, but we did not.

In the time that we put into researching this venue, we found out a few things that made us move on for good. First, there is a noise curfew of 10pm. Second, this venue is much more costly than June Mountain Ski Area, which has a noise curfew of 12am. Third, you will not have the place to yourself (could be obvious to some, but it wasn't to us at first). Hope this info helps in choosing your best venue.
