One of the best aspects of our wedding!

I'll be honest, I thought other reviewers were exaggerating a bit about their guests commenting on Donelson's food but I kid you not, at least a dozen people went out of their way to tell us how amazing the food was at our wedding. The rosemary chicken was outstanding, and the veggies were cooked perfectly. I also highly recommend the crostinis! One guest said wedding food tends to be bleh at best, definitely not memorable, but they were blown away by how fresh and flavorful everything was. Huge thank you to Donelson's and Kimberly from our new family!

I had a Graduation Luncheon. The service was excellent, the food was delicious! I would recommend this catering business .

Our guests are still raving about the food!

The food was amazing! We got married October 21, 2022, and our guests are still talking about how great the food was! It was a pleasure working with Donelson’s as they were very responsive & extremely professional! They were able to accommodate us perfectly. Even with us living out of town, they were able to make arrangements for us to have our tasting when we’re able to get to Memphis. There are not enough words thank them for making our day even more special than it already was!

Best caterer!

We used Donelson’s Catering for our daughter’s wedding reception. Kim was extremely helpful and accommodating. The food was exceptional! Kim and her staff were wonderful. We received so many compliments on the food. The presentation was beautiful also.

If I could give Donelson's Catering more then 5 stars, I most definitely would. I just got married in December 2021 and hands down A++++ from the tasting all the way up to the wedding. They are very responsive and they become like family. I seriously miss working with them. Their food is off the charts. Almost 2 months later, my guest still talk about how amazing the food was at the wedding. One of the comments were "I've never had food like this at a wedding." I can not recommend them enough. I'm so glad I found them and hope to use them again soon at another event. Don't walk but run to book them for any upcoming event. You will not regret it.

Just perfect

JUST PERFECT!!! If there were 10 stars, I would mark all 10!!! Donelson's Catering provided excellent food and service for our daughter's wedding in April. The guests loved the food choices. They are still telling us how much they enjoyed the cocktail hour and the dinner meal. We were so pleased with the entire experience. I can assure you that the Donelsons will be asked to cater many more events for our family. Professional service at its best!!!

Great Communication and HOT FOOD !!

Ms. Kim was great to work with and personable .
I worked with her the ENTIRE wedding process in regards to food. Our guest loved the fact the food was NOT only good to taste but HOT !!!!

All Around Fo To for Catering

We have used Donelson’s many times for work functions with great success. Big and small events. I recently contact for a small private luncheon. Everyone was pleased with the menu choices, the herb roasted chicken was juicy and flavorful, au gratin potatoes were excellent, and the green been broccoli medley cooked perfectly. Awesome job, awesome service!

Donelsons Catering

If you have not experienced the new Curbside Menu service from Donelsons Catering, you owe it to yourself and those who're dining with you.
This pandemic season has changed a lot of things but Wendell and Kim have remained committed to offering excellent cuisine and superior service.
We added Blackened Salmon and Balsamic Glazed Lollipop Lamb Chops to our Father's Day menu. It was a wonderful treat that was thoroughly enjoyed. No matter how large or small your setting may be they're prepared to exceed your expectations.

Exquisite, personal, and delicious!

We simply could not have been happier with Donelson's and highly recommend them. Excellent food, beautiful set-up, professional staff, flexible planning, and exquisite attention to detail. Our event was a very special one for my husband who has terminal cancer, and Donelson's made everything easy, beautiful and delicious for out 150 guests at the Metal Museum. I am incredibly grateful for their service and help.

PERFECT! Very professional!

Donelson’s catering was AMAZING!!! I asked and they DELIVERED!!! Everything I wanted on my menu for my wedding they made it! They were so easy to work with and so understanding! The communication was so professional and consistent! After having a bad experience with another vendor they stepped in and picked up the pieces with no questions asked! Delicious. Awesome Taste. Awesome Service.

I sought out to find an awesome caterer for my Mom’s “Living Her Best Life Birthday Party”. I asked around and was referred to Donaldson’s on more than one occasion. My last call was to a chef who educated other chefs and he said hands down Chef Donaldson. That’s all I needed to seal the deal. We scheduled a tasting which validated his endorsement. The tasting was conducted very professionally and the food was fantastic however the tasting was no comparison to the food prepared for the party. The guests were so impressed with the professional service - the passed hors d'oeuvres (crab cakes). The shrimp and grits were to die for-our guests are still talking about it! Food was presented beautifully on platters and dishes like art! Last but not least, the staff incorporated our animal print theme in their attire that night. I can go on and on about how awesome this caterer was but I hope my review thus far describes the delicious food and awesome service we received from Donelson’s!

Kimberly and her staff were so professional and kind to all my guests. The food was amazing and presentation was perfect. They accommodated all my requests to work with my style. On behalf of my daughter, her fiance, his family, and our family, I want to say that every guest raved about the delicious wedding fare and the gorgeous buffet presentation prepared and provided by Chef Donelson and his staff! They said it was the best "wedding food" they ever had! Kim Donelson was professional, accomodating, and knowledgeable about every step of the process of hiring a caterer for a wedding. She treated my daughter and fiance like family from the moment she met with them, and assured the highest quality of service throughout the reception. Donelson's Catering is by far one of the best decisions we made as we formed our vendor team for our daughter's wedding. Everything was perfect, and they are some of the nicest and most fun people to work with ever!!! There is no greater gift for a hostess than to hear rave reviews about the meal at a wedding as she walks around to greet guests. I used Donelson’s Catering for my wife’s surprise birthday celebration and the service from start to finish was excellent. The owners made special accommodations for the venue I used and the food was absolutely great. All of my guests commented on how top notch the servers were as well as the food. I would definitely use Donelson’s Catering again and would recommend them. The service, food, and experience was well worth the price.

The Donelson's are simply amazing! The best catering service in Memphis hands down. Not only is their food fantastic but their customer service is outstanding. Our wedding went from 100 people to 300 and they were so helpful with planning and making sure that our day was memorable and delicious. My guests are still talking about the food and the service that they provided. It is also rare that you meet the chef, but we were able to meet with both Kim and Wendell one-on-one. My husband and I highly recommend them for any event, whether big or small. They can handle whatever you need with both professionalism and taste. Donelson's Catering is the way to go! You have to have them for your wedding! CALL THEM!

I would just like to note that Donelson's Catering is Top Rated. I did not expect to see Mrs. Donelson, personally, serving at my 30th Anniversary Party but she was. I was totally impressed because a lot of caterers send staff members to service events. For me that speaks volume in commitment, dedication, and most of all CUSTOMER SERVICE. I appreciated Donelson's Catering helping to make my 30th Anniversay Party more enjoyable and memorable than my wedding.

The Donelson's are great to work with. The food choices are plenty but they can help get the right menu put together for your event. The food for my wedding was loved by EVERYONE. I plan to use them again one day.

Donelson’s was so awesome to work with! We were initially looking at them and one other company to cater our wedding, and they by far exceeded our expectations with responsiveness, professionalism, and helpfulness. They accommodated my mom, the groom, and I for a tasting that allowed us to experience their culinary excellence and really choose the menu that our guests would enjoy. They went above and beyond to serve us well in advance of and at the wedding. Kimberly was one of the first people I saw when I got to the venue, and she was so warm and welcoming! The food was really delicious, and as we greeted guests we saw clean plates and received many compliments on the food from both the guests and the wedding party. The carved roast beef was tender and cooked to perfection, and the honey dijon chicken paired really well with the honey carrots. We also got many compliments that our food was not the “typical wedding food”. Their servers took great care of us at the head table and made sure we had everything that we needed. Catering is a major part of the wedding day, and we appreciate Donelson’s making such a critical part of the wedding something that we did not have to stress over at all!

We hosted a networking event with a theme and Donelson's worked with us to flesh out the presentation. Our guests enjoyed themselves and appreciated the friendly and professional service from Donelson's staff. Our staff appreciated Donelson's attention to detail and help in developing a menu that complimented our theme.

Donelson's food is always delicious. They prepare each meal as if you were part of their family. The Augratin potatoes and macaroni and cheese my favorites side dishes.

You can't go wrong with any of their meat choices. The peach mango punch is addictive.

When dealing with businesses in the service industry, you want.... service. Donelson's Catering has been the epitome of this since its conception. The product is key and with this it is the food. Exceptional seasoning, hot and more than enough servings were made available.

If you are looking for great food and a friendly and courteous staff, Donelson's Catering is the way to go.

I've had catering from Drapers, Simply Delicious, and Central. They've all been professional, beautiful setups with plenty of food for 50 people. Donelsons was nothing like that. There was no effort put into the presentation, and certainly not enough food for 50 people. They gave me one pastry per person (with fruit, juice, and coffee). Who eats just one pastry for breakfast? I had to supplement breakfast with leftovers from Drapers, who we ordered on the previous day - and who provided a much, much higher quantity of food for the same price. For $8.00 a head, I expect more than one pastry per person. The pastries provided were obviously just Svenhorn and Otis Spunkmyer pastries from Sams Club - I know because I shop there. I could have easily just unpackaged the same pastries and plopped them haphazardly on two trays for like $1 per person. When I expressed this concern to them, they kept exclaiming "But you had leftovers, so clearly it was enough!" - without acknowledging the fact that we supplemented the breakfast with leftovers (which more people ate, because they were higher quality and better tasting items). The lack of food was so shocking to me that I had to call in and request more items for lunch (they were also catering lunch). Which brings me to the lunch provided. I ordered the burger bar for 50 people (upped to 75 due to lack of food provided). I'm not sure if Donelsons has ever actually had one of their hamburgers before, because they are absolutely awful. I had several complaints on the quality of the food provided that day, which is embarrassing for me as someone who is running a conference for professionals. The owner of the business argued with me non-stop for 10 minutes, but eventually agreed to discount the price of the extra hamburgers - but it was a huge hassle, and I do not feel at all that I got what I paid for. Steer clear of Donelsons. There are so many other caterers in Memphis that deserver your business.
