I recently had my wedding at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, in which Butter Crumb Bakery’s wedding cake is included in the package. This was a super nice addition! We loved our wedding cake. Larissa, who works for the bakery, was super responsive and helpful in setting up our cake tasting. The tasting was a lot of fun and you were able to try numerous cake combinations. The cake was delicious and all of our guests raved how good it tasted too! My husband and I particularly loved the vanilla cake with vanilla custard and lemon. Plus, the cake was decorated absolutely beautifully. Thank you for everything! -

Our reception venue, Ruffled Feathers, has a contract with Domino's, so all we had to do was make an appointment for our tasting. The staff was very friendly and helpful during the selection process. It was very easy to contact them via email if we had any questions or to discuss the cake topper. The cake was delicious! It was moist and the buttercream frosting is to die for. -

Dominos is a must for your wedding! From the cake testing to the wedding day... everything was awesome! Kathy the owner brought out several delicious samples to try and helped to decide on the final cake choice. The cake at the wedding was fresh and delicious..many of the guest commented on how delicious it was( yellow cake with canoli filling for one layer and chocolate with fudge filling for the other). Also, all the sweet table pastries and fruits were so plentiful and delicious. Get your cake/sweet table from Dominos and check that off your list..no need to worry about another detail because Kathy and staff have that covered for you!! -

My wedding was 9/26/15. We brought in a picture we found on Google and showed it to the owner. She said it would be no problem and even helped me change things to make it more ours because there were some aspects of the cake that I didn't like. The process was way less stressful than I thought it would be. At the wedding I got so many compliments on how beautiful and delicious the cake was. It was a four layer cake with alternating flavors of vanilla cake with vanilla custard and a strawberry sauce and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and a raspberry sauce. I am extremely allergic to raspberry, but my husband loves it. They made sure there would be no crossing of flavors so that i wouldn't have a reaction. This was amazing because my husband and I both got to have the flavors we love instead of compromising and it made our wedding that much more special. When my husband first saw the cake he got teary eyed because it exceeded our expectations. Everyone at Domino's was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Kathy kept in contact with me over email before I went there and she always answered promptly and answered all my questions with out a problem. When I went to our constitution they were very polite and some of the nicest people I have met. I couldn't be more happier with our beautiful and delicious cake! -

Our wedding cake was included with our Reception, but we had to visit the bakery to select it. Domino's has been around for over 60 years and it shows. Every type of cake we tasted was delicious and there were tons of options to combine different types of cake, filling and frosting. They have a binder of decorating options that so you can choose the style and decor for the cake. Everyone at the bakery is all business so it was a little intimidating at first, but after they warmed up to us, it was a great experience. The cake was beautiful when we saw it at the reception and our guests loved it. -

We got our cake through our reception hall, Hilton Indian Lakes Resort with Domino's Pastries and they did a great job! We had a different request for the cake since it was the weekend of Halloween and zombies/Walking Dead are our "thing" in a way. We had custom made (different vendor) toppers and zombies to "eat" the cake and "climb up" It was simple, not too much with a purple ribbon to separate the tiers of the cake. They did great!
I have seen some comments that they are "rude" to people. They are an old school Italian family that are straight to the point. They can come off as rude or demanding but I just find that is their way. They were friendly when we were in the store and always professional. -

We ordered our cake right through our reception hall and they get them from Domino's bakery in Chicago. The cake was excellent. We got marble cake with whip cream and raspberry filling and butter cream frosting, it was very very tasty everyone loved it. Even after being frozen for a whole year and thawing out and eating it on our one year anniversary it was still great! -

Domino's was our cake vendor through our reception vendor. We were so happy to hear that our wedding cake, as part of our package with the reception vendor was included. But we were more surprised at the QUALITY of the cake. If anyone is looking for a reception hall, I wholeheartedly recommend Meridian Banquets in Rolling Meadows, IL - as their cake vendor, Domino's Pastries in Chicago had DELICIOUS cake.
The design was BEAUTIFUL and the cake itself was tasty. My husband and I were so impressed with the presentation and very satisfied with this vendor! -

Dominos provided our cake and our sweet table. Our reception hall provided this as part of our package. We could have picked the look of our cake and type of cake at the hall but I chose to go down to Dominos. They only do tastings on Saturdays, and by appointment. Which was fine but it is good to know that. They were helpful in letting us do each layer a different flavor. The were also really good with letting me say I wanted this idea from this picture and this idea from a different picture. Cake and sweet table was really tasty. -

Oh my gosh was this cake delicious!! They have done many wedding cakes in their time being that they have been a family business for 50+ years. The tasting was amazing. We came with a picture drawn up of what we wanted our cake to look like. They gave a few suggestions and we walked out very happy customers. We will definitely be ordering another cake from Dominos again. -

My Matron of Honor used Domino's for her wedding & I pretty much knew at that point that I wanted to use them as well.
I had zero issue with responsiveness either on the phone or by email. If I had a question or request, it was handled almost immediately.
Our tasting was amazing...they had a number of samples to choose from and each one of them was wonderful. They were so affordable and the cake was both beautiful and delicious! Guests were eating gobs of cake at the end of the night, they couldn't even wait to get it home! One guest told me he "wasn't a cake guy" but was already on his 3rd piece and loving it! So glad we went with Domino's! -

Domino's Bakery is used by the Seville, which was my reception hall. My Cake was included in the cost of my reception, which was awesome. The Seville had a bunch of books with cakes to pick out. I saw more than a few cakes that I absolutely loved. I finally picked out my cake, and it came out even better than I imagined. It was beautifully decorated, and what was even better is the taste. I've had a lot of bad tasting wedding cake, and ours tasted incredible. -

This place is amazing. My hall Chateau Ritz uses them so I don't know how much they pay for the cake since the price is included with the hall.I asked if i could see the bakery to pick my cake since i was sure with flavors and if they could mix. My husband loves choclate and I love vanilla. So we asked if we could do different flavors with different layers. We ended up with a few layers of choclate cake with vanilla pudding and stawberry jelly and vanilla cake with choclate pudding. The top layer our layer was marble cake with vanilla pudding (unfortunaley we never go to try it because we forgot to put in the freezer so when we got back from our honeymoon a month later well you know what happened). I brought in a picture of a cake I fell in love with when I was younger it had water fountains and bridal party on bridges. When I got to my hall my cake was better then the picture. The bridal party people were the same color as my bridal party lilac it was truly a master piece. The hall said they had not seen a wedding cake that big in over ten years. I would recommend them 100%. I hope to use them again in the future. -

Dominos was actually part of our Meridian Banquets package, but when we went there for our cake tasting, we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't want a cake out of their book, so we were able to pick different tiers that we liked from certain cakes and create our own design. It not only tasted great, but it looked absolutely beautiful the day of. Highly recommend! -

We used Domino’s Pastries for our March 9th wedding. We had our wedding at Ruffled Feathers in Lemont and Domino’s was their preferred bakery. With the package that we purchased, a cake from Domino’s was included.
Before our tasting, we printed out several pictures of cakes that we liked. At our tasting, we brought the pictures and asked their opinion. The cake that we liked had a fondant appliqué. However, fondant was an up charge since our package did not include fondant. But, the bakery was flexible and showed us a butter cream option that looked completely similar to what we were going for.
The cake turned out beautifully and exactly what we had hoped for. Also, it tasted great! At our tasting, which was included in the package, we were able to sample several popular flavors. We chose 2 layers to have red velvet with vanilla butter cream and 2 layers with yellow & chocolate marble with chocolate mousse and a raspberry preserve. The cake was moist and fresh.
In addition, if you choose this bakery, be sure to stop by and try some of their pastries. I swear, they have the best cannolis that I have ever had and they make them fresh to order.
Overall, we were very pleased with the services that Domino’s Pastries provided us and would recommend them to any bride and groom.

AUTHENTIC LITTLE ITALIAN BAKERY (ON HARLEM) SO CUTE AND FRIENDLY AND HOMEY!! PRICE IS 0 BECAUSE IT WAS INCLUDED IN RECEPTION VENUE'S COST PER PERSON. I GOT A CHOICE OF CAKE FLAVOR AND FILLING, HOW MANY TIERS I WANTED, ETC. FOR THE DESIGN ON THE OUTSIDE I GAVE THEM AN IDEA OF WHAT EMBROIDERY WAS ON MY DRES AND THEY NAILED IT. IT WAS DELICIOUS CAKE WHEN WE WENT FOR THE TESTING AND FOR THE ACTUAL DAY. WE EVEN GOT SOME PASTRIES THE DAY WE WENT FOR TASTE TEST WHICH WERE ALSO DELICIOUS!! I HAVEN'T BEEN BACK BUT I DEFINITELY WANT TO. THEY DID DIFFERENT FLAVORS ON DIFFERENT TIERS. CAKE WAS HEART-SHAPED. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS EXPERIENCE!
ONLY MINOR NEGATIVE WAS THEY WERE SO POPULAR AND BUSY THAT WE WERE A LITTLE RUSHED DURING THE TASTE TESTING/PLANNING SESSION - BUT NOT SO MUCH THAT I FELT UNIMPORTANT OR UNAPPRECIATED. -

Our wedding cake was included with our package at White Pines Golf Club. The Domino's staff was helpful and created exact cake replicas after I provided the images . They created a surprise groom's cake, which was a pyramid symbolizes my husband's fraternity. It turned out beautifully. I love how we were able to customize our cake however we wanted and they provided suggestions. The flavors were unique and out guests really enjoyed them. Thank you! -

This bakery was included with our package at the reception hall. Our cake was gorgeous - we got a lot of compliments on it. It was a little different than what we had discussed, but it turned out so beautiful that I cannot complain. I think there may have been some confusion since we first decided we wanted the layers stacked straight, then changed our minds and wanted the layers to be offset. They were straight on, but we also got one more layer than expected, so I’d just make sure you are very clear with what you want. The cake tasted good, I had about one bite of it, and it looked stunning.
I wish they would’ve told us they were putting cardboard on the layers of our cake, however. We didn’t know that, and had some trouble cutting our cake. Luckily our photographer noticed our struggle and pointed it out :) So watch out for that!

We went to Domino's for our wedding cake because it was included with out banquet hall. We made an appointment and went in on Saturday when they do cake tastings. Everything tasted great to me, so I let my fiance pick the cake flavor since I already knew exactly what it would look like. I brought in a magazine photo of an all ivory cake with a flower in the center and cascading petals down the side. The man we worked with brought out petal samples and did everything I asked. He was a no nonsense kind of guy who never smiled but in some ways I admired that because he was good at what he did. I added a thin ribbon of rhinestone ribbon to each round tier that was also on my bouquet handle. I wish I could add a photo to this review, the cake was perfect- exactly what I asked for! -

We got our wedding cake and sweet table thru Domino's Bakery (guaranteed through our package with the Cotillion). Our weddin cake was beautiful and BIGGER than we expected. Although we didn't get to taste a FULL piece of cake- we were told the cake was very good.
They were very nice to coordinate with us to have a fondant bow cascading down the cake with crystal brooches that I had bought and provided to them.
Our only issue was with the sweet table- I was told that the quality of the sweets were lacking and that people were not happy with the desserts on the table. I'm not sure if this was with every piece of dessert, but it was drawn to my attention that the sweet table was not that great.
However, thank you for a beautful wedding cake!! -

My cake was beautiful and tasty! I am anxiously awaiting the ceremonial eating of the top layer. The baker was very in tune with what we wanted and didn't question us about colors (brown and cream) or shape (square). Delivery was done on time and there were no issues with the cake such as it leaning or not having a finished look. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. -

Our venue used this bakery to provide the cake. The cake looks awesome from the picture that I picked out from the venue. The cake tasted great and every layer of the cake was different. -

Dominos is what my receptions hall uses for their packages. We went down to Dominos for the tasting. We were a little dissapointed in the size of the taste pieces. I know its just a taste but you need more then a tiny tiny sliver to actually get the taste of something. Nothing stuck out to us..my husband is huge into chocolate and he didnt even like the chocolate filling...we ended up going with half chocolate half vanilla cake with vanilla custard filling...we kinda just picked at the end cause we had to pick something. The cake was beautiful and the did it just how we wanted it..only think I would have to complain about is how thick the frosting was...way too much to enjoy a slice of cake. -

This vendor was one of two options we had that came with our reception vendor. The cake testing was not as fun as I thought it would be, the options seemed to be minimal. I took a picture of what I wanted our cake to look like and they did a great job of replicating the cake without using fondant. On top of that it was delicious. We are very happy with look and taste! -

I picked Dominos based on a family recommendation. There were lots of cake flavors to pick from. I was suprised when I saw the cake for the first time at the wedding as it was not what I ordered! All of the details on the cake should have been in green but were done in white. At first I was upset but then realized that it probably turned out prettier in white then it would have in green. I was only able to have about two bites of the cake but it was delicious. So all in all it was fine. They also did a White Sox grooms cake for my that turned out very nice. -

Our cake was included with our banquet hall but i couldn't be happier. THe cake, I hear because i never got to taste it, was delicious. At the cake tasting i remember being very impressed by it and really enjoying every sample they gave us. we went with the marble cake it was most and amazing. The lady who took care of us was great. She was comfortable with small talk and showed us pictures of her daughters wedding. The only reason it isn't a perfect 5 is because of how they handled circumstances out of their control. The appointment before us was 30 minutes late and we were 15 minutes early we ended up having to stand around for almost 30 minutes. The appointment after us came in 30 minutes early! perfect storm for disaster. We wanted to step out and maybe go to the BBK across the street but they convinced us to wait and scavenged for chairs. the next couple they told them to come back in 30 minutes. By the time they came back we were wrapping up our appointment. -

I was pleasantly how well our cake turned out and it looked beautiful! It was simple and elegant and looked EXACTLY like the picture we had brought in for our meeting. While I only got a bite, I thought it was fantastic and super delicious. We had marble cake with chocolate mousse filling and raspberry spread. It was just the perfect amount of sweetness and not overboard. My only constructive criticism would be to have Domino's come into the new century with email or more information and pictures added to their website. While I did receive calls back, it would have worked out better for me if I was able to email and have things more in writing. Other than that, their product was great! -

The cake was part of a package deal through my caterer, otherwise I would've gone somewhere else. Service and flexibility were decent. The taste and variety of flavors was nothing to die for or worth gaining a couple pounds for either. I did tastings but didn't really care to eat any at my wedding. -

The cake tasted good and it arrived on time, however they did not decorate the cake as we had requested. When I contacted the manager after the wedding they denied not decorating the cake correctly even though I had an itemized receipt describing the decor. They don't take credit cards either. They allow check for wedding cakes however cash for all other pastries. Not modern. Very old fashioned. -

Dominos is the bakery that was included with our wedding reception package. At the reception tasting they only provided two premade cake samples, both containing chocolate which my husband is allergic to, and both were terrible dry and bland. We had to drive an hour to visit their bakery for another tasting. It took me over a week to set up an appointment, plus they only do tasings on Saturdays from 10-4. The bakery is VERY small, not in a great neighborhood, has almost no parking, and is very tacky looking. Most of the samples they had in the window looked straight out of the 70s/80s. The staff was not welcoming or friendly at all; we were not greeted at all. When we went up to the counter to tell them we had an appointment for a tasting, they just told us "sit down and we'll bring out a book" someone came over, slapped some books down for us to browse, and then left. There was another couple picking out their cake and the staff was very rude to them also. Finally a different employee came over and asked us if we had anything in mind. I said yes, that I had a picture, and he groaned. The entire time they made us feel like we were a terrible inconvenience to them. He brought out some cake samples with filling and frosting already on them. It would have been nice to have cake, frosting and filling separate so we could make our own combos, but instead we had to scrape off frosting to try different combinations. All but one type of cake was extremely bland, and dry. We practically had to beg for different flavors. He said they had all kinds of other flavors, and when I asked what flavors, he said "what kind are you looking for?" I said "peach", and he replied, "I have apricot" (guess they don't have "all kinds" of flavors huh?). The entire process took over an hour because they kept walking away and leaving us for long periods of time. Every customer who walked in (it is a regular bakery, not just wedding cakes) was treated very rudely. Finally we agreed on the flavors, design, and colors and we left. The best part of working w/ Domino was that since the reception site included the cake, we didn't have to deal with these rude people after the tasting; the reception site did.
The day of the wedding our cake was beautiful, exactly what we asked for. Unfortunately they had left a very large cardboard base on the middle layer, so we could not cut into the bottom layer for our cake cutting. When we tried cutting under the cardboard the cake became a mangled mess and all we were left with was a chunk or two of cake, and globs of frosting. It took about 5 minutes to "cut the cake" all the while our guests were snickering because they couldn't see the real problem and just thought we were morons who can't cut cake; it was furstrating and humiliating. I only got to try one bite, but it seemed good, and a few guests told me it was good.
The top layer (the one you save) was the size of a regular round cake, and so now it is taking up about 1/4 of our freezer. We tasted the frosting before wrapping and it was awful; just like shortening and powdered sugar. I don't think we'll be eating much of it on our one year anniversary.
I definitely would not use Domino had they not been the bakery included with our reception package. If you're looking for poor customer service, boring cake flavors, dry, bland cake, and a disasterous cake cutting; in other words and all around bad experience, Dominos is the place for you. -

This is for Domino's Pastries located at 1745 N Harlem Ave, Chicago, IL.
I found Domino's Pastries via Yelp and realized that I drive by it everyday to and from work. Reading the pretty positive reviews, I decided to go and check it out since my fiance and I have been searching for a bakery to make our wedding cake.
Once we scheduled the cake tasting appointment, I thought I'd drop by to buy and sample some of their regular pastries. My fiance and I tried an eclair, tiramisu cake, and a cannoli. The lady who took care of us was very nice. Anyway, the pastries were okay--nothing to die for, but we decided to stick with our appointment anyway since wedding cakes are different than regular pastries.
When we went, we were taken care of by an elderly lady who is, I presume, one of the ladies in the wedding cake department of the business. (I think this because when I called a couple times for wedding cake inquiries, I was always transferred to her.) She was nice; she gave us a few binders to look at, gave us some samples to taste, and took down some information in the case we decided to go with them. The cake dough was okay; most of them were very light and tasted very standard; my fiance and I liked the chocolate frosting the best, but again, the other frosting flavors were very standard and nothing out of the ordinary. The lady quoted us a price--which was very affordable!--and told us to give her a call and that she'd take care of us. (We were relieved because we read Matt B.'s negative review about the rude customer service he received. Another customer who was there for a cake tasting appointment was being taken care of by a man, and she was treated very rudely!)
My fiance and I decided to go with Domino's, so I gave them a call on the Wednesday before Easter. (They're not open on Monday, and though they're there on Tuesday, I was told that they're not open for business that day.) The lady who answered the phone put me on hold so that I could speak with the wedding cake lady, but she came back on and said, "She asked if you could call back next week because it's the week of Easter, and she is very busy." Okay, sure, understandable.
When I called exactly a week after, the same thing happened. The lady was busy and would need for me to call back later. I guess the lady on the phone sensed my hesitation when she asked if I could call back again; I told her that I was told the same thing last week and that I would like to place an order since all the details had already been worked out. The baker woman finally got on the phone and sounded so annoyed. I told her that I'd like to go ahead and place the order. She kept asking me what I was saying, what my name was, where I'm having the wedding--basically everything she had already written down on her sheet of paper. She finally found my information, and when I told her that I'd like to go ahead with the order, she told me that I'd have to schedule ANOTHER appointment to confirm the order. I asked her if I could just place the order and come pay the balance in full, but she was resolute in me coming back; I agreed and asked her when I could make an appointment. She said I'd have to come back in JUNE. (I called the Wednesday after Easter--still April!) I asked her if I could just drop in since she already had my order and I pass by the bakery all the time, but she said I'd have to wait until JUNE since she was booked.
Needless to say, my fiance and I have found another bakery that is just as affordable and a whole lot nicer! I'm not one who is easily turned off by bad customer service, especially since people can have bad days, but this was just unacceptable. No matter how great the cake could have turned out, the customer service was quite atrocious, and I am not willing to drop hundreds of dollars if this is the kind of service we can expect even BEFORE the actual day of the wedding... I'd be afraid of what could happen on the actual week or day of the wedding!
No thanks! -

BEWARE!!!!!! Do not go here!! The owner/manager Theresa is so incredibly rude and put off to even talk to you.
We came in on an extremely rainy Saturday afternoon to just browse and look around. Mind you, the bakery was completely empty. Our banquet hall has this bakery as one to choose from for our wedding cake; however, I wanted to upgrade to fondant frosting so that was extra. I had a picture of the cake I wanted, so I simply wanted a price for this picture. I did not want to try the cake; I just wanted a price along with a brochure. Well, the woman there, Theresa, did not want to accommodate us whatsoever. She insisted I needed an appointment to get any information. This was odd to me since the bakery was completely empty and I explained that we had just traveled an hour away in the pouring rain to come here. She did not care.
This woman's demeanor and actions were very condescending and disrespectful. She just stared at me like I was an idiot and did not want to answer any of my questions. (Which were quite basic questions). I ended up walking out of the bakery because she was that disrespectful. I refused to give someone this ignorant my business.
After reading all the reviews, it seems like many people have had issues with customer service at this bakery. Customer service should be a number one priority; however, this place does not seem to think so.
