Dockside at Dukes Reviews

Dockside at Dukes was a fortuitous find! The venue is simple but lovely and has a wonderful view of the lake and hills of Seattle. We worked with Danae and Katie during the planning process and they were communicative and helpful throughout the process. Costs were explained upfront and at the first venue visit we received a “sample” cost package showing current costs for food, the various options available, and all taxes, fees, etc. We were shocked at how much more reasonable the costs were than other venues we had looked into. I have to admit, I was a little nervous that there was some catch, but everything was as expected. In fact, it was far above expectations! The serving and bar staff were just awesome! Jennah was our coordinator on the day and let me tell you, that woman was just amazing. She ran things during set up, quickly realized the “look” we were aiming for, and literally made it all happen just perfectly. I could not have done what needed to be done during set up without her and the staff. Seriously worth her weight in gold. The food was fantastic and we had many people comment on how much they enjoyed it. The night went so smoothly and my daughter and son-in-law had just the most lovely and memorable evening. I just can’t say enough good things about Dockside at Dukes and I’m so happy we found them!

Communication is great. The venue looks amazing. Danae, the event manager, made sure all of our questions answered. She was very kind. Me and my fiancé would recommend this place to anyone. Everyone loved the food and if you wanted halal food they can provide! 10/10

Dockside at Dukes is a perfect venue for a wedding on the deck and buffet reception. The view is amazing. The food was delicious and the service was top notch! It is a great location, we had many guests from all over the country and they stayed in hotels close by. We also used A Amore Events and Entertainment for the DJ and planning. I recommend highly both for a perfect night!

Dockside at Dukes was great to start our wedding planning process. Danae was very helpful with information even outside of just the venue. They were responsive and flexible with tour times! Looking forward to our wedding next summer!

As a wedding and event planner, I was thrilled to work with such an experienced team at Dockside at Duke’s! It was one of their first large events after opening, and everything went off without a hitch! The food / chef experience was exceptional and planning was a breeze with Danae. Can’t wait until I get the chance to work here again!

We had our wedding at Dockside at Duke’s in 2022. There were very good and very bad parts…

Pros:
- Indoor and outdoor space: we loved having our ceremony outside and our reception inside.
- Day of staff: the staff the day of our wedding was incredible. They were prepared for everything and we appreciated them.
- Food: Wedding food isn’t something people often comment on at the wedding but we heard rave reviews from so many guests.

Cons:
- Responsiveness: we worked with Danae and Travis before our wedding to get everything lined up. It took WEEKS to get responses for basic things, even very close (~a month before) our wedding. This obviously added immense stress to an already stressful time and is the top reason I would not recommend this venue.
- Drink flexibility: something we talked to Danae about before booking was requesting specific wine/beer. When we actually decided on our bar menu, she came through with one beer that we were pretty adamant about since it’s from the brewery where we had our first date but unfortunately didn’t get the flexibility we expected.
- Decor planning: part of our contract was that we could have the Dockside team help with getting things for our event (eg special chairs) for a 20% surcharge. We requested we have the overheard string lights ($500 + surcharge) and drapery behind our sweetheart table. They forgot about the drapery until we reminded them a few weeks before and they said it was too small of an order to get delivered on its own, but they were going to find a way. They estimated a charge (including delivery) that they never adjusted nor provided an invoice/receipt for despite our asking. Given they said they couldn’t get it delivered separately but our quote included a delivery charge, I doubt we were charged accurately. Strongly suggest not going through them for any help like this.
