Picked our wedding date based off DJ Solstice's availability!
One non-negotiable for our wedding: having DJ Solstice as our DJ. We even chose our wedding date based off his availability! We were talking to Matt at the same time we were booking our venue, and when we learned he was booked for the date we were thinking about, we pivoted immediately.
Matt really understood the vibe we were going for which was alllllllll over the place lol (Hannah Montana, E40, One Direction, Morgan Wallen, David Guetta, NOTD, Cheat Codes, Gryffin, Backstreet Boys and so much more).
He is so easy to work with and is very responsive. He is also sooo hype and really knows how to work the crowd.
Our friends were talking about how lit, hype, and fun our DJ was. Felt like we were at a music festival. Many of them asked for the playlist! Our older relatives were talking about how seamless everything was and how there was always music as they traveled from the ceremony area to the cocktail area to the reception area.
Matt offers many packages and is a one-stop shop. We love how in addition to his DJ services, we also had a cute personalized light up sign, and photobooth (DSLR quality). Although our venue didn’t allow it, he also offers sparklers, lasers and fog/smoke machines!
Matt’s setup was clean and matched the aesthetic. We really like how he offers different setup options based off the venue style or the color scheme (white vs black setup).
Highly recommend booking DJ Solstice for your wedding or next event! You will not regret it!

Dj solstice is incredible!
My spouse and I met at Coachella and Matt understood the assignment. He threw us an epic Coachella-style party for our wedding. Everyone danced all night and didn't want the party to end. He created a great environment and people of all ages we're celebrating with us on the dance floor.
We've received compliments from all our wedding guests about the fun party. Matt's DJ and MC performance was amazing that kept the energy up all night. He mixed songs flawlessly and kept people on the dance floor.
Matt is a real DJ. He is talented and professional. We highly recommend him for your wedding.

Amazing Professional DJ Matt!!!
Matt was our wedding DJ this past weekend and he was amazing! He was super professional and fun. We had some last minute change on the day of wedding and he was able to accommodate the requests with no issues. Matt's photobooth was also super fun! The best dj!
DJ Solstice was incredible! Being an older couple from Texas, we had lots of regional Texan music and freestyle songs we wanted along with Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Reggaeton. He mixed it perfectly, had the dance floor going all night (4 hours!). He met us at the venue a month out to go over setup and placement, which we admired being not from the state. Matt, Solstice really does get the wedding party going. His connection with the crowd is above and beyond what I expected at the event. I was lucky enough to call him my partner for the evening as I took over the reigns as MC whilst he delivered tune after tune, keeping the atmosphere electric as we all reached for the lasers. Photobooth was a HIT!
We hired them to provide photobooth services for my daughter's wedding - they brought a premium product with incredible-quality prints, featuring a floral wall backdrop that blended in with the decor. We TWERKED the night away!
I can’t believe it took my this long to write a review, but this time I finally did it when I got the review request! Solstice was the DJ for our wedding last Fall, and was provided by the venue after our original DJ had a conflict and couldn’t make it. We were a little nervous but they assured us we’d be in good hands. And were we ever! Super professional, handled everything smoothly, made the venue look gorgeous with uplighting and the firework things were a nice touch. He played bangers (NO CHEESY/LAME MUSIC) and we twerked the night away, it was such a blast. Thank you so much for playing such a vital role in our uber-successful special day!

Even grandpa danced!
We hired DJ Solstice for our engagement party at a golf course, and I told him that people were probably not gonna dance, but if they did then great. Well let me tell you, after all the formalities he got on the mic and got everyone to the dance floor and they stayed out there until the end of the party. Until you've seen your 80 year old grandpa drop it low to Flo Rida, you haven't truly lived HAHA. Can't wait to have Matt DJ our actual wedding later this year!

The one DJ I actually LIKED!
I want to thank DJ Solstice for making my daughters wedding fantastic. I attended 4 weddings this year and was disappointed in 3 of the DJs. In fact, at my other daughters wedding the company refunded our total fee due to their lack of preparation and execution. DJ Solstice communicated many times as pre-event planning. He was on time and fully ready on time. He executed in his role as MC perfectly and his choices during dancing met everyone’s needs.

A snow-filled magic wedding!
We had a great experience with Matt! He was very professional and easy to work with. he answered calls and emails promptly and was super organized with our music requests. They showed up!
We found DJ Solstice last minute when our wedding dj fell through and let me tell you they SHOWED UP! From the first phone call to booking him to our actual wedding day, we had the most seamless and professional experience! The options that they offer to make sure your big day is going to go off with a bang! We had an intimate backyard wedding and wanted the DJ to capture the essence of good music with all our love ones and they did just that plus more! The backyard got transformed into the most beautiful venue and the setup they brought along exceeded our expectations! From the Ceremony to the Reception we had such an amazing flow as he emceed the whole event. To top it off surprised the heck out of us with these sparkler machine going off when the music got to its peek! I’m so grateful that I found them and how amazing they ended up being. DJ Solstice and his crew were incredible. They allow you to choose different packages and we went with a full production (light towers, sound crew, lasers, fog, etc). Everyone was talking about the dance party for weeks to come. I didn't need to give DJ Solstice and his team very much direction. They were professional and great at MC'ing (different over talk) and precise on all the deliverables. Their sound system was crisp and clear for all the speeches and ceremony. They set up equipment in 3 different areas with ease and showed up early to make sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend working with DJ Solstice.

Such an amazing night of music!
We hired DJ Solstice to DJ our socially distanced, fully masked, small intimate wedding last Fall on a private property in a county where numbers were low. He informed us early on that he was high-risk and may have his DJ business partner perform instead. He assured us we'd be in good hands and well, we most definitely were! Josh was such an amazing DJ, MC, and host - everyone stayed dancing (6 ft apart) the whole time and there were no awkward dead moments. OMG MY WEDDING WAS THE BEST! Matt (DJ Solstice) played such good music we had a full on dance party during the cocktail hour! We had very specific requests for what we wanted to hear during the dancing (no rap, top 40 pop) and he followed it perfectly, while still keeping the dance floor packed for the whole evening. DJ Solstice was the DJ for my wedding this past month, and I can honestly say nothing but the absolute BEST about him and his performance/skills! He was so easy to communicate with and plan everything out, and I felt comfortable leaving the event in his hands (we didn't have a coordinator and Matt and his assistant stepped up and tackled that). Absolutely rocked it!
We found DJ Solstice on YouTube actually and loved the way he read the crowd and played a variety of music to keep everyone on the dance floor, as well as his really cool lighting and shooting sparkler machines! It was the most memorable first dance with those firing in the background, and all our guests had their jaws on the floor with how beautiful it looked. His setup is top notch, and DJ booth is very pretty in pictures, unlike some other DJs we've seen with cables and mess everywhere.
Had everyone dancing all night, and our guests aren't normally big on dancing! So many compliments and people asking for his info after the wedding. Couldn't be happier with how my perfect day went. Thanks Matt!

One heck of a party!
Wow! There aren't enough good things I could say about DJ Solstice without making this a novel, so I'll just touch on a few. He is BY FAR, the BEST DJ you could ever ask for. He was extremely professional, easy to work with, personable, always super quick to respond and make any last minute changes, and played awesome music. The dance floor was packed the whole night. I had so many guests come up to us after the event and say how much they loved the wedding and more specifically the music. He also has some really cool lighting that helped set a great ambiance and vibe, and during dancing it was high-energy and went with the music.
What was also great, was just how easy it was to get him any must-plays or do-not-plays, as he sends this excellent pointed email to get everything he needs and our wants. No forms or separate apps to download. Thanks again!!! You made our wedding day perfect :)

Incredible DJ
We chose DJ Solstice because my fiancé had been to a wedding where he played and remembered that he was great. During our wedding he was absolutely amazing, everyone kept talking about how incredible the music was. One of our wedding attendees actually hired him the next day! His transitions were perfect, music choices were spectacular which can be difficult keeping the different generations on the dance floor. EVERYONE was dancing, it was so fun. What a party!
Matt (DJ Solstice) was the DJ for our wedding of around 300 people back in the Spring, and let me tell you, he was everything we could have asked for and more! From first contact to the days leading up to the wedding, he was quick to answer all of our questions and was extremely flexible with our many many last minute changes. He even sent out his assistant with wireless mic and speaker for our rehearsal dinner at no extra charge :) These are just things you don't find when hiring from a big DJ company like our friends made the mistake of when they went with Kramer :P
The wedding went smoothly, the ceremony was beautiful and everyone loved that they could hear our vows clearly. The dance party was just that - A BIG PARTY! He played everything from classic 80s hits to today's hits to amazing dance music (which we requested!) He played it in such a way as to make sure nobody left the dance floor. A beautiful wedding
DJ Solstice was the DJ for my wedding earlier this month. I can't say enough good things about him! But here's a few:
He's incredibly professional, from communication to setup to equipment. Top of the line stuff he uses! Our venue looked BEAUTIFUL with his uplighting and his light show was amazing during dancing! Threw in a free ANIMATED monogram as well.
He's very flexible and easy to work with - no having to log into some portal to make song selections, no hard deadlines, nothing that other DJs made our friends do for their wedding. He just knows how to make the event run smoothly with his experience.
As a DJ/MC, he's the best we've ever heard, and our guests shared similar opinions. He doesn't play any of those corny wedding songs we've heard at other weddings, only the stuff to get people dancing and keep them there! Excellent at reading the crowd and keeping guests engaged and hyped. Played some great remixes and was awesome on the mic as well. We had so many compliments on the music and lights.

An amazing DJ!
We got so lucky to have DJ Solstice as our wedding DJ. He did an amazing job, music selection was incredible and he played Spanish music to accommodate our relatives. Best Wedding Dancefloor ever!
DJ Solstice did an amazing job for us. We’ve been to a ton of weddings over the past few years and have never seen a better dance floor than this one! Every person we talked to after the wedding was extremely complimentary about the music and vibe of the dance floor and Matt was really communicative and easy to work with prior. Would 100% recommend him to DJ your wedding!

Amazing DJ! Awesome Lighting and Music!
My organization hired DJ Solstice for our 'Italian Wedding' themed party, which is kind of a wedding? Either way, I felt it necessary to write him a glowing review due to how amazing of an experience it was.
To start, he was very professional and responsive throughout the entire booking process, and really well priced! He answered all my questions quickly and acknowledged our playlists and requests both ahead of time and the night of. Speaking of the night of, it was AWESOME! His lighting setup was HUGE and lit the place up, reacted to the music (slow movements when slow music/buildup and strobing & quick color change when faster tempo), and was like nothing we've ever experienced. Blew our socks off.
The music was perfect and exactly what we were looking for, he had everyone dancing the whole night. Definitely much better than any other DJ we've had in the past. I had a bunch of compliments from our organization and guests about how great of a DJ he was.
Hire him and you won't be disappointed!

Wow, he went above and beyond!
DJ Solstice was better than we expected. He went above and beyond during the whole wedding. He has CO2 cannons, and lazers that will blow you away. He even helped out in areas that were not his responsibility at all. Every where I turned Matt was there to help out. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. He is true professional with a great music choice.

Packed dance floor
DJ Solstice (Matt) blew us away. He was prompt in his responses and easy to talk to. He asked us a few of our preferences, and then we opted to let him have a lot of freedom when it came to the music selection. And boy am I glad that we did. It was one thing off my plate, and he did not disappoint. Not only was he an amazing MC, but he was an even better DJ. He had everyone up dancing all night long...including the staff! Great selection of music. My only regret was there wasn't more time to dance! That part of the wedding flew by, but it sure was fun while it lasted. Thank you for a job well done!

DJ Solstice (Matt) was the DJ for our Friday wedding this past weekend. They say two things can make or break a wedding - food and music. The food was good, but the music was absolutely AWESOME! I was recommended Matt by a friend of mine who went to a wedding he DJed, and I’m glad she told me about him, because he is by far the best DJ I’ve ever heard. The dance floor was absolutely packed all night, and he played everything from hip-hop to dance music to throwbacks and more. We gave him a list of requests and he smoothly integrated those. His mixing was on point and songs just flowed into each other with no awkward pauses or abuse of the microphone.
On top of all that, I must speak about his lighting package. I’ve never seen anything like it. All the lights react to the music and strobe when it gets crazy and change colors to the beat. They slowed down during slow dances as well. So cool!
I had the wedding of my dreams thanks to DJ Solstice, and I had numerous guests come up to me and say just how much fun they were having dancing to his music. 10/10 RECOMMEND!

DJ Solstice is a fantastic DJ. His price range was great (best in the SLO/Pismo area), super easy to communicate with, great choice in music. He stepped up when he most certainly did not have to and became our officiant at our wedding because ours was incompetent. He was able to play some traditional Hungarian music. The lighting was on point! We had a blast and recommend DJ Solstice for any type of event.

Matt was AMAZING for our wedding! Everything from the ceremony to the reception was perfect! He was spot on with the timing for the processional and bridal party entrance! We got extra lucky that Matt wanted to get some footage for his website, so he included a few CO2 cannons for our grand entrance! It was super cool and unique :) We had a friend sing our first dance song and he was able to plug in easily to Matt's system, ensuring everything went smoothly. Matt did an incredible job at our wedding for the ceremony and reception. We and our guests had a blast! There were some mic issues during the ceremony where it cut out during certain parts, but it was also windy and that could've contributed to it. Honestly not a big deal for us. Matt played exactly what we wanted and also didn't play any of the cheesy wedding songs like I had requested. He was quick to respond to any emails, which can honestly be such a challenge when contacting wedding vendors. Thank you so much!! I highly recommend him if you're looking for a DJ!

Matt was AMAZING! We told him exactly what we wanted... Popular songs with a good mix of Country (for me) and Tropical House (for my groom). He made it happen! He also had uplighting for the reception area that was perfect for our venue. Timing was perfect for the ceremony and he had a great mix for the cocktail hour into the reception. Once the dancing got started everyone was on their feet for the whole time! From the first email DJ Solstice was prompt with responses, really got to know us as a couple, made us feel like he cared, and made us feel like he wanted our wedding to be better than we could imagine. I found him through Facebook in one of the group's. He was recommended 35 out of the 40 recommendations we received. Our wedding and reception would not have been as special and memorable had we chosen anyone else. He is professional, courteous, punctual, and the sweetest person we now know! If ever we need a DJ in the future he will be our only contact. He will work with any budget. Even though we couldn't afford much he provided top quality sound, music, and made us feel like we spent thousands of dollars. We cannot express how much that meant to us. We have been to several wedding where they paid double what we did and the sound quality and professionalism was no where near what DJ Solstice provided. You will be sorry if you pass this talented young man up!

I feel like we were high maintenance when it came to booking at DJ. We had random requests and lots to pack in a short amount of time. DJ Solstice got the party going and kept the party going. It was great working with Matt in the months leading up to our wedding and on the day of. Matt was very responsive to all of our emails, and flexible with all of our requests. On the day of our wedding, he had everything ready to go with no issues, and played great music to keep the party going all night! We had asked him to play the classic wedding songs, a little country, hip hop, and rock - basically top 40 stuff. We wanted to make sure that all of our guests would be happy with the music selection and Matt executed that request perfectly. I had multiple guests come up to me stating they had never been to a wedding where the dance floor was full for the entire evening. My husband and I highly recommend him!

Matt (DJ Solstice) was awesome to work with! Initially, we had planned for the whole wedding to take place outside the barn. We then decided the night before the big day, that it would just be too cold, so we notified Matt who said it wouldn't be an issue and he could change his setup. It ended up looking absolutely beautiful and the lighting setup was top notch. He killed it during the dancing portion of the night and kept the dance floor packed from beginning to end. I had many of our guests saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to!
Matt was great on the microphone with introducing the wedding party and keeping the event running smoothly. This was impressive as we didn't have any sort of coordinator and relied on him to take care of most of it. Overall I highly recommend DJ Solstice to anyone! Thanks Matt!

He mixed a perfect playlist for our cocktail hour, dinner and dancing for our reception. From background, unobstrusive music to partying on the dance floor. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding. From start to finishing, Matt was extremely professional and easy to work with. He worked closely with me to develop our playlists--making music suggestions but also ensuring our wishes were met. Matt did a great job MC'ing and kept the night flowing for us. When our wedding timeline was off track he helped me get us back on schedule and was generally attentive throughout the whole event. The lighting that Matt chose and set up was fantastic. The room in which dancing took place looked beautiful, and everyone had a great time dancing with his music choices. He was super attentive to what specific songs I wanted. During the reception, I told him exactly what time to start each song and he nailed it. We had the best wedding we could have ever asked for and matt was one of the biggest parts about it! He got everybody up and dancing from ages 8-80 literally. Thanks for making the night so memorable matt!!

Matt did an outstanding job! He got everyone up dancing and kept the party going. A few of my son's friends said, " He was the best DJ of all the events they attended." Very pleased overall and would definitely use him again in the future.

DJ Solstice/Matt was amazing. Every single person I have talked to said that was the best reception they have ever been to and I contribute much of it to Matt. He met with me to get a flavor of they type of music my husband and I enjoyed and really used that to create a play list that was exactly perfect for us. The dance floor was packed all evening and of people of all ages from my 5 year old cousin to my 82 year old great uncle. He was also very accommodating to the last minute changes in the schedule. We changed how the first few dances would be literally minutes before the dancing started and he said no problem I can totally do that for you. He was professional, fun, courteous, very easy to get along with and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is getting married in the San Luis Obispo area. He made my wedding the funnest wedding not only I have been to but all of my friends and family as well. He has a really cool lighting setup as well!

He DJ'd the end of the year celebration for the UCSB athletic department, and he was awesome! He kept the bowling alley fun and lively with 3 hours of throwbacks, pop-hits, edm and all sorts of music. Definitely would use DJ Solstice again!

He did more than expected! Hiring a DJ is always a hit and miss, but this was an absolute success. Our guests were dancing the entire time and the dance floor was never empty. I booked him for three more events after our initial one because everyone had an unforgettable night dancing to this professional DJ. The other events went amazingly as well.

DJ Solstice was the DJ/MC for our wedding earlier this year. I’m glad there is finally a place where I can share with the world just how amazing he was! I was referred to him by a friend of mine who’s daughter attended a high school dance he DJed. From the beginning, he was very accommodating, flexible, and super easy to work with. In the initial consultation, he took the time to get to know us, what we expected, and the type of experience we wanted our guests to have. The whole process was very smooth and he was quick to answer all of our emails. From the time of the booking until the event, we had a few check-ins and phone calls to go over details which helped assure me everything would go smoothly come the big day.
And boy did it! Matt showed up on time and efficiently unloaded and set up his equipment. He has quite the setup! It is very professional and neat, and pleasing to the eye. The speakers had such clarity, and everyone could hear the toasts and music clearly. The bass was pretty nice too :) Overall it just sounded great! And looked great too! The lighting package he tailored for our event included uplighting, strobe lights, and dance floor disco lights. He controlled it all with a separate computer and it went along with the music and really got the guests pumped!
Throughout the event, Matt served as the MC, introducing the bridal party, announcing dinner, etc…He is great on the mic. He did a phenomenal job of reading the crowd and keeping people dancing, with current hits, hip hop, and classic wedding songs. He even led the guests in a line dance or two that got everyone out of their seats, even my grandparents!
All our guests loved the wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with how our special day turned out, in large part thanks to DJ Solstice. I highly recommend him! You will not be disappointed!

"A" list, experienced DJ for the central coast and southern California with 6+ years under his belt. Caters to any crowd, from the small and intimate to an audience of thousands with a wide knowledge of various genres, including today's pop, country, and dance tracks. Very accommodating to the venue, top of the line equipment, and even has experience with his own event planning. Not a detail is overlooked. If you want a full service DJ, look no further. Your attendees will know the difference.

DJ Solstice was the DJ for our school's prom a couple weekends ago. He absolutely killed it! I've been to all the dances this year and the other DJs played just ehh music and had a couple lights. Nothing special. DJ Solstice came with a HUGE setup with awesome lights, lasers and booming sound! And best of all, the music and his mixing was on fleek. It was turnt. Everyone was dancing the entire night and he played great mix of popular songs and classics. I'm so happy our ASB class found him we will definitely be using him for all our dances in the future:) You won't go wrong hiring this amazing DJ!

DJ Solstice was great to work with throughout our whole wedding process. He communicated quickly and professionally. He was very prepared. We've had a ton of friends rave about the music selection and how fun the dancing at our wedding was!

The service we got from Josh at our wedding was absolutely fantastic. Incredibly personable and friendly, Josh went out of his way to make sure that the music matched the vibe and mood of our Halloween/Harry Potter themed wedding. We could not have hoped for a better fit for our wedding and reception.

Matt (DJ Solstice) was so accommodating as changes were made the day of the wedding and kept the jive alive all through the day. We were so happy to have him DJ our wedding and he was such a huge help in following the timeline we set for the day! We were so happy to have him there!
