Great DJ, kept the dance floor full all night!

We recommend Scott very highly! Being music lovers, this was a very important part of the day for us.
Scott brought beautiful sound to our ceremony, cocktail hour, and kept the partying going throughout the night at our reception.
Scott is so easy to work with. He took time to meet with us mid-workweek before the wedding at a location that was convient for us to go over music selections. He thoughtfully understood our favorite music genres and helped us curate sound combining our favorites and his knowledge of what a diverse crowd responds too. Scott is a great MC, brining much enthusiasm to the night without being an overbearing personality.
Scott was very responsive and communicative throughout the planning process.
We’ve recieved lot’s of positive feedback from family and friends who had a great time at out wedding, thanks to Scott keeping the people dancing all night!

Scott is a fantastic DJ and was wonderful to work with! He smoothly orchestrated a ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing in multiple locations at our venue - it was seamless. He has great attention to detail and sent us a Google document to fill out with our song preferences. Scott had a good read of the crowd the entire night and got people dancing immediately after dinner. The party didn’t stop as Scott played great music that kept the dance floor packed all night. We can’t recommend him highly enough - he made our wedding into the best party!

Scott is the best wedding DJ ever! We had heard him at another wedding a few years ago and had a blast so when we got engaged we knew Scott was going to be our first call. He lived up to our high expectations - the dance floor was packed! Everyone kept telling us how awesome the music and DJ was and we even got a few people who never dance to join us for a few songs. We have been guests at several weddings since and every time we wished Scott was DJing because it is just so much more fun!

Scott was super easy to work with, very professional, asked what artists and types of music we wanted to hear, and was very reasonably priced. He was relaxed and flexible so everything ran smoothly and we highly recommend him. Don't think twice - book Scott!

After many failed searches for fining a DJ, Scott was reccomended to us by some friends who had him at their wedding. At the time I thought it would be impossible to find a DJ that was both responsive and sane!
From the beginning Scott was helpful, responsive, friendly and accommodating to all of our wedding requests. His upbeat and easy going attitude was exactly what I needed as a stressed bride! He took the time to make sure that my (now) husband had his music included into our playlist, which really meant a lot to me as my husband was a little more "hands-off" with the planning than I was.
On the big day, Scott arrived prepared and with an awesome attitude that really helped calm my nerves. He exceeded our expectations in music, and facilitating the timeline for our ceremony and reception. I had a few special requests and Scott accommodated ALL of them, and made suggestions that made them even better! We could not have asked for a better DJ and my husband and I had the time of our lives thanks to him! We can't reccomend him highly enough!

Benny was very professional and definitely knew what he was doing. It was nice to not have to worry about the sound, music or MC-ing. He took the time to sit down with us beforehand to go over specifics and song selections, and made sure to double check with us when there was any ambiguity in which version of a song we wanted. He read the crowd well and kept the dance floor packed.

Scott DJ'ed our September 2016 wedding at the Sharksmouth Estate in Manchester by the Sea, MA. A couple months before the wedding he met with us on our schedule to have a meet and greet and review the details of the wedding. Before the meeting he emailed us a Google Doc that outlines a timeline of the day that we fine tuned and allowed us to start brainstorming our ideas and listing out our song choices. Scott made it clear to us that he wanted to play music that we wanted to hear during the night and that was something that was very important to us. We made a huge list of songs within the Google Doc and Scott made up a great playlist adding some songs of his own that meshed well with our list. Scott has high quality current equipment and the capability of downloading and playing any song choices you can think of. He's experienced, respectful, doesn't take up a lot of real estate, and very easy to work with. I also want to note that he made a separate visit to our venue by himself a week before the wedding to review the logistics and his equipment layout to make sure everything went smooth. As soon as we got engaged we knew Scott was going to be our guy. My fiance and I had attended several weddings where Scott was the D.J. over the past few years and we left impressed every single time. When it came time for our own wedding, Scott did not disappoint. From the beginning of our planning he was responsive and helpful without being overbearing, spent time visiting the venue with us, and alleviated any anxieties. We had Scott play during our dinner and reception and he always knew exactly what to play and when in order to keep things moving smoothly and seamlessly, despite a tight timeline. Scott adhered to our music preferences and made sure to check in with us throughout the night when he had questions or needed to pass on information. Scott is an entertaining, fun, and laid back guy who will do whatever it takes to ensure you and your guests have the time of your lives!

Scott is an unbelievable DJ! After many co-workers had used him for their weddings and gave rave reviews I decided to book him for myself and I’m so happy I did. He gave me and my husband a Google doc the minute we booked his services so we could begin to write down songs we liked which is great, since many DJ’s we spoke with make you sign a contract and don’t speak to you until it’s time for your wedding, but Scott was available and engaged the entire time leading up to our big day. I had a last minute location addition and he was extremely accommodating. When it was time to sit down with him and go through our playlists he was amazing with suggestions, downloaded songs I was very particular about on the spot to ensure he had the correct version and made sure every song fit ‘our personalities and themes’. Our guests LOVED the vibe and music choices Scott made and had everyone up on their feet for the entire night. He was a blast! Scott is very professional and an all-around great guy. Thanks for making our wedding so memorable!

Scott was fantastic! Our dance floor was packed all night and we were so happy with the music played! He worked with us ahead of time to make sure he knew what we wanted and provided helpful suggestions on what he has seen work at other weddings. He was well prepared for our introductions and kept us on track timing wise. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ and got many compliments at the wedding on the music/DJ. Scott was amazing! The fact that he loves all kinds of music really allows him to be a great DJ. We met with him before the wedding to go over everything we wanted. When I dreamed of my wedding day, the thing I wanted most was a night full of dancing. Thanks to Scott, my dreams came true. My husband and I actually picked our wedding venue (Sandy Island Family Camp) because the reception did not have to end at a certain time. So now we had the challenge of finding a dj who would be up for staying a little bit longer than one day, but wouldn't break our budget. Scott was the perfect man for the job. In the months leading up to the wedding, Scott met with us to get a feel for the type of music we like. I loved how we would suggest a song and then he would come back with a few other songs that we hadn't even thought of. Scott came up for the rehearsal BBQ on Friday night, set up his speakers and played a playlist of our favorite songs. He has multiple sets of speakers so he was able to do the music during the ceremony, have music set up for the cocktail hour, and a system ready in the lodge where we had the dancing. Once the dancing started I don't think I left the dance floor once! Scott did a fantastic job of balancing requests. He knew our taste in music so well, he would kindly tell guests if their request didn't fit with the bride and groom's playlist. After the wedding, most people commented about how great the dj was and how much fun they had dancing. We couldn't agree more!

Finding the right band or DJ for your event can make or break the evening. Which is why my husband and I looked long and hard before selecting Scott to DJ our wedding. He actually worked a three-day wedding event we attended just the weekend before, and we were blown away by how much fun everyone had and how awesome the music was--I don't think he repeated a single song over the course of the entire weekend.

One of the things that is so fantastic about Scott is that the playlist is tailored specifically to you as a couple. We spent an evening with Scott mapping out the perfect playlist for our night, and I was amazed at how well the music represented who we are as a couple and reflected our individual tastes. Scott also had some great ideas on the flow of the evening--he is clearly a seasoned pro and was dead on in all of his suggestions. In the ten weddings we've been to this summer, I haven't seen more people out on a dance floor--my aunt actually hurt her hip dancing so hard! People were raving about our music weeks after the event and asking us where we found such an awesome DJ.

Scott, in a word, was a fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop looking elsewhere for DJs--you've found your guy.

I recently got married and we had Scott as our DJ, and couldn't be happier. If there is anything you take away from this review, let it be this: DJ Scott Benowicz MADE our wedding day.

In a time where bravado, fog machines and amped up emcees overpower the dance floor—my husband and I were very nervous about going with a DJ. That is...until we discovered Scott. He is a diamond in the rough; a talented, kind, people-person who leads with his talents yet stays in the background so that the night is about you, the music and your guests.

Immediately after having met with Scott is was clear to see he had a passion for music and an ability to really get to know his clients so that he provides a high-end, personalized experience. He met with us a week before the wedding to go over our preference sheet and to provide some feedback on songs that we may want to consider based on our music choices. Needless to say, we discovered some incredible new musicians that we couldn't wait to hear on our wedding day and felt confident in knowing that our reception's musical-ambiance was in his hands. While we hand selected a majority of the songs, we did leave the tempo of the evening up to Scott. And, in turn, we were delighted to see that Scott had an ability to really select music and read the dance floor so that it never emptied while making sure it kept in line with our style.

Following our wedding day, Scott shared our wedding music playlist with us on Spotify which we continue to listen to most every day; a cherished memory of a great night had because of his talents.

We wish Scott continued success and highly recommend him to anyone looking to host an event or a wedding in the Boston-area.

Scott exceeded all expectations as our wedding DJ from start to finish!
From the very beginning after meeting with Scott he immediately followed up with a simple and straight forward document to track our music selections and shared playlist making it easy to exchange our songs. He is extremely organized as well as responsive. He always made himself available for questions or a face to face meeting to discuss the big day. Scott went above and beyond to ensure that he achieved the end result we were looking for - that was clearly proved when by the end of the night we had our family and friends coming up to us to let us know just how much they loved the DJ and the music. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Scott. He played the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. From the beginning of the wedding planning process he was extremely helpful in answering all questions and helping to lead us in the right direction for music choices. Scott was extremely accommodating as a few things changed throughout the night. He was extremely knowledgable, helpful, kind, and professional.

As soon as dinner was finished the dance floor was filled with guests the entire evening. We are still hearing guests rave about Scott. There were even wedding crashers, I saw the group of women inside the venue at the bar on my way out and they told me they couldn't help but jump in for a few songs because "the music was too good"!
I think it is safe to say that Scott knows not only how to get a party started but how to keep it going. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of a DJ for their upcoming wedding!

Scott came highly recommended from friends that have previously used him. He made sure our wedding reception was AMAZING and so much fun. We provided a list of songs that we wanted to hear and gave him free reign for everything else. I must say, once the dance floor was opened up, nobody wanted to leave. He was very accommodating and willing to go above and beyond, we had a Belly dancer that he coordinated with to ensure he had all her music ahead of time and that things went off without a hitch.

Scott was wonderful to work with. He worked around our band for Ceremony sound, a 2 hour Wedding set after the band and after hours set. He was prompt and on top of all requirements we needed for an incredible value. He found solutions to unique logistics issues and then simply rocked the house. The transition from band to DJ was so seamless that people legitimately didn't notice until a few songs in.

To top it off, Scott looked the part. In sharp contrast to the rumpled black suits of most wedding vendors, Scott's gorgeous gear was a great added touch of style that made him look the part.

Could not recommend Scott more strongly.

Scott was a phenomenal DJ. We made a great decision choosing him. Scott was great with helping plan the music and was very flexible in how much input we wanted on song choices. He was always friendly and professional in all interactions and was a pleasure to deal with overall. When it came time to do the ceremony itself, Scott was very important in making sure everyone was mic'ed properly and everyone could be heard. At the reception, Scott kept the party going. Everything we asked for was played, and he had a great flow from one song to the next. Announcements and speeches were handled smoothly and with ease. We are still getting comments from our guests on how much fun the reception was, no small part of which was Scott. My wife and I are very happy that Scott was with us on our big day. Scott is simply amazing. He was our wedding DJ and couldn't have done a better job. We have actually had several of our friends ask for his info for their weddings! We chose to only pick out a few special songs and let him do his thing for the rest of it - and I'm so happy we did! He had the crowd up and dancing the whole night. Scott is the best at what he does period. We hired Scott to DJ our wedding and he surpassed all our expectations. He is a true professional. If you want to nail the music on your special day and not even have to worry about keeping the guests up on the floor, hire Scott. He makes it incredibly easy with "what to play", and more importantly "what not to play". His timing was perfect and his playlist was exceptional. My husband and I worked with Scott for our recent wedding and could not say enough great things about him. His overall attitude, helpfulness and eagerness to make our day perfect completely exceeded our expectation for a Dj.
From the first meeting we had we knew our day would be in good hands. Scott not only bridged the gap of COMPLETELY different music taste for me and my husband, but had amazingly helpful suggestions for logistics, agenda and fine details. We were in contact frequently, and I always felt like Scott was genuinely happy to answer any questions or share useful tips with me. Not only does he have a fabulous sense of how to have the music set the tone for your whole day- but has the ability to cut/chop and blend music together so well. Once of my favorite aspects of the day was our entrance to the ballroom, where Scott was able to take one of our favorite songs (which otherwise wouldn’t be appropriate for such an occasion ) and loop the intro so it played continuously upon us walking in. it was perfect.
The best part of working with Scott is the shared google doc he uses throughout the planning process. It allowed both of us to go in, add, delete and brainstorm songs together for months which is much easier than doing it diligently in a few sittings. Anytime I thought of a song I would simply add it to the document, which was always available for me and him to access. What was also great about Scott were the meetings we had, 3 total, leading up the day. He was more than happy to meet us wherever it was convenient, have a beer with us and talk openly about our likes and dislikes for music and weddings in general. When planning, you have so many “stuffy,” serious meetings and these were not like that at all. Always fun, always a pleasure and always leaving us beyond happy that Scott was our “ringleader” for our special day.

Scott is a consummate professional and a great DJ. Having been a DJ myself for 20+ years, I had high expectations on my big day. I had performed shows with Scott in the past and knowing that his taste, execution, and skills are second to none, he was my first and only choice for our wedding. Scott worked closely with us to find just the right vibe for every aspect of our day from the ceremony, to the reception, and everything in between. He worked well with the musical ideas we provided and built off of them to set a perfect tone. We have nothing but phenomenal things to say about our amazing wedding DJ, Scott! He literally kept the dance floor packed all night long and played every single one of our favorite songs. Not only was the music amazing but he was truly fantastic to work with! Scott is a fun-loving, down to earth and incredibly organized guy. Scott is a human Pandora. I think what sets him apart is the work he does before the wedding to really understand your tastes and preferences. We had a complicated set up where he played music back to back in 3 locations (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) sharing the venue with another wedding staggered an hour apart. Scott put us at ease about all the logistics, worked directly with the venue and everything went flawlessly. He kept the dance floor packed all night. Lastly, Scott is simply a personable and reliable guy. It was a pleasure to work with him.

Scott was luckily referred to us by a co-worker. We had a great long phone conversation regarding mood and level of interaction we were looking for. He was very attentive to every detail and the music was absolutely perfect from beginning to end! Very professional and responds very quickly to emails. Scott was our wedding DJ and did an amazing job. Soooo many told us what a fun wedding it was and what a great job he did. The DJ is such an important part of the day and he really made sure everyone had a good time. He was unobtrusive, but engaged and kept the dance floor full the ENTIRE night. He was super easy to work with in the planning stage. He helped us develop a list of must-hear songs but had a great sense of what we were looking for so he easily filled in the rest with songs that were right in line with our crowd. He was very responsive and reliable, he got there early and coordinated with the site before hand to ensure everything would go as planned. I would HIGHLY recommend Scott for your wedding DJ!

Scott DJ'ed our wedding on June 28th at Zukas Hilltop Barn. He was unbelievable! We met a few months before the wedding and went over the general feel of the wedding so he could get some ideas.

From there we put a lot of music we really wanted to hear and he got a great grasp of the mood. He was very very easy to work with and seemed to have a really great time. I would highly recommend. Scott!

We actually heard of Scott through a friend and after their wedding, we couldn't wait until ours! Scott does a great job of keeping the party going and making sure everyone is having a good time. He also makes sure that he's playing music we like and reflects our style/personality.

We also used Scott for our ceremony, which was outdoors. Everything came through clearly so all our guests could hear and our voices weren't muffled by the wind/elements.

I would strongly recommend Scott!

Scott did a fantastic job at our wedding! A few months prior to our wedding Scott came up to our house to go over playlist ideas. We really wanted a playlist that would not only make us happy, but one that would also satisfy most of our guests. Scott exceeded all expectations! The website for our wedding was called mainedanceparty.com. Needless to say - the wedding party music was very important. Scott did not disappoint. We had really positive feedback about the weekend in its entirety. We tried really hard to keep things fun and low key and Scott was the perfect vendor for that. He was SUPER responsive through the whole process. Even though he literally had his sweet baby girl 3 weeks beforehand. Scott was great.

Scott was the DJ for our wedding back in June, and he did a fantastic job. He was very communicative, friendly, and helpful in the months and weeks leading up to our wedding, and he handled the day of perfectly. He managed to find/play everything that we had asked for, and everyone who attended loved both the music, and how it was handled. Scott did a wonderful job, and I would definitely recommend him for a wedding (or any DJ-able event, really) in the future.

Scott was awesome, I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a great DJ. Scott met with me and my, now, husband ahead of time to go over our play lists. He brought a lot to the table and has a great demeanor and taste in music. The day of the event he showed up in great spirits and played all the songs on our list plus so many more that blended perfectly. Scott checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy and enjoying the music. It's true what everyone says, you don't remember much from the night. I don't remember spending a majority of my time with any one person but I do remember chatting with Scott. He added a nice, calm, fun, in-control element to an otherwise insane and emotional day for a bride. I was referred to Scott by an old friend it was the easiest and best referral I had. Scott even let me grab a pic behind his DJ stand with the headphones, it was one of my favorites. Book Scott for your wedding or event, you will not be disappointed!

Scott played a very large part in making our wedding a huge success. First, leading up to the wedding he was very easy and fun to work with. We met a few times to discuss our taste and our style in music. He was able to take our suggestions and then build upon that to capture the style we really wanted. The reception itself was a blast and many of our friends and family specifically cite the DJ as being one of the best they've ever heard and a large reason why the wedding was so much fun. The dance floor was packed non-stop right up until the end. I would highly recommend Scott for anyone looking for DJ services.

Scott came highly recommended from friends that had worked with him, and we are so happy that we took their advice. In the lead up to the wedding we had three meetings to discuss our setup and playlists. Each one was easy, productive, and even fun, as he is such a great guy. Our wedding was on Nantucket, so we assumed that he would have to use a small/portable set up, but he insisted that he could bring his full table system. He worked directly with our venue to wire in to their house sound for the reception, arrived early to test it, and then was ready with a portable system for our outdoor cocktail reception. After that, our announcements were perfect, and we wanted a sort of open mic for toasts during dinner. Scott made it all happen flawlessly. For the actual dancing, the music was incredible, weaving from our requests to his own suggestions based off of our tastes. It felt as if everyone at the wedding was on the floor, and stayed there for the duration. It was without question the greatest party that we've ever been to, due in large part to the energy that Scott provided. We could not recommend him more.

Scott was AMAZING! My husband and I got married on July 14 in upstate NY, and Scott was nice enough to travel to DJ our wedding. We had seen him DJ our friends' wedding in 2010, and knew we had to have him.

He was so easy to work with. We communicated by email at first (really throughout our entire engagement), and he was always prompt and helpful with his replies. As the wedding got closer, we had a phone meeting where we discussed our likes/dislikes and ideas. When we got off the phone with him, my husband and I both knew we had nothing to worry about as far as Scott was concerned (which was really nice given the stress level a month out from the wedding). He seemed to sincerely get what we wanted and did not want, and it really showed at our wedding.

The day of our wedding, he arrived early, and was setting up when I arrived at the venue 2 hours before the ceremony! I was extra impressed since he was coming from so far away. Throughout the night, he adapted what he played based on crowd response, and his music was seamless and definitely crowd pleasing! At the reception, my husband made some obscure requests that were played almost instantly.

We've been to a lot of weddings, and have never experienced a DJ better than Scott. We didn't want a lot of funny business (inflatable saxophones etc), just a professional, skilled DJ and that's exactly what Scott delivered. We couldn't recommend him enough!

I couldn't have been happier with Scott! My husband and I got married this past year and from the very first moment of talking to him, we knew we had our guy! He was very professional, yet personable enough for us to feel very comfortable with him and in letting him know what we wanted. Not only did he provide us with great feedback, he provided us with great suggestions for music, all of which we used. In addition to creating really great flow to our evening, fast forward to our wedding day 10/15/11, the entire wedding was up on their feet dancing all night-enough said! We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend him to anyone!

It's pretty hard to top all of the positive reviews already given to Scott. I'm sitting here writing it thinking I genuinely want to "out recommend" everyone else as some sort of additional payment for him doing such an exceptional job. Scott was fantastic from start to finish. Fortunately for my new bride and I this was our first (and last) go around but I can't imagine the sailing being any smoother than it was with the entire process. Scott met with us twice in person prior to the wedding, which was in Newport, RI, to get insight into what type wedding we were envisioning. At our last meeting he came to our home, which is roughly an hour away from his, and sat with us compiling a tentative play list. He made suggestions, played songs, gave advice, and listened. he came up with excellent ideas and was very receptive to ours.

The end result was perfection. Every suggestion he made was the right one. My wife and I spent most of the dinner walking around mingling and thanking people while being constantly reminded of our history together because of the music that was playing. We had an upbeat and peppy cocktail hour, a very cool and mellow, but fun dinner, and the dancing couldn't have been more fun for everyone involved. Scott was attentive, respectful, professional, and is simply a nice guy.

We had the honor and pleasure of having Scott as our DJ and would, without any hesitation or doubt, bet that you can't do better than him

My husband and I got married in Boston at the Seaport Hotel in October 2011. I knew Scott from my previous place of employment, as soon as I got engaged I knew he was the one I wanted to DJ my wedding. Scott is easy to work with, reliable and presents himself with total class. I knew from the beginning that I wouldn't be disappointed. My husband is a musician and knew exactly what he wanted for music... he was nervous about hiring a DJ who might play songs he didn't want to hear. I told him hands down then... Scott was his guy! When we met with Scott to discuss the style of music we wanted to play he instantly started putting together the perfect playlist for us.... even songs and artists we hadn't thought of! My husband loved him and was confident that Scott would play the soundtrack he wanted to hear. Scott put up with me emailing him songs daily at times and he even put together a document for us to update whenever we wanted to. The night of the wedding the dance floor was never empty and always full of energy. Guests came up to me all night asking me who my DJ was because the music was so great. Even after the wedding they are still asking who it was! Scott definitely is going to give you the reception YOU want... my husband even danced all night... which is unheard of! Scott helped make my wedding the most amazing night ever! I would recommend Scott to anyone in a heartbeat there is no question! He made our wedding night so memorable, I can't thank him enough. I met Scott through mutual friends who hired him for their wedding in Pennsylvania in 2010. The dance floor at that wedding was so full of energy the entire night that my fiance and I decided that he was the exact kind of DJ that we wanted at our wedding. When I contacted Scott through email, he was so easy to talk to and gave me all the information that I needed up front. Considering that my wedding would be held in Northampton, MA and Scott was based in Boston (2.5 hours away), I assumed that I would have to pay extra fees for him to travel. I was pleasantly surprised that Scott did not charge for this, nor for set-up time! I was sold. In the following year, Scott would gladly accept my obsessive emails, each time I head a song I had to have at the reception. He was professional throughout the whole process, and offered great advice about music selection and general flow. On the wedding day, Scott was on-time, dressed very nice, and to all you neat freaks out there; he kept his equipment extremely tidy and hidden (which I hoped for!) There is nothing worse than a million speaker wires and stuff in all your pictures!
During the night, Scott played EXACTLY what I asked him to. There were so many people dancing who "never dance" and they were tearing up the dance floor. In the wedding photos, you can tell how much of a good time people were having by the expressions on their faces...pictures don't lie! Scott kept the party going, so much so, that my friends have been talking about the dance floor and the music since. Thanks Scott for making my wedding exactly what I wanted!

Scott came recommended by others who raved about his services. In the weeks since the wedding, we too have been raving. Scott was extremely easy to work with from the very beginning. It was clear that his top priority was understanding what type of wedding WE wanted and where our comfort level was. We were looking for something that was low on gimmicks and "games" and high on great music, which is what Scott does best. Once he had a handle on the type of music we were looking for, he did a great job of applying his experience and amazing knowledge of all types of music, while ensuring that we felt like we were in the driver's seat. I could go on and on about how fantastic Scott is as a DJ and why you should hire him but you're probably skimming through reviews, so just know this: During the reception, in between congratulations, everyone raved about the music. I can't tell you how often I'd see someone with their phone in the air, Shazaam'ing the song, usually while dancing to it. Even afterwards, people requested/demanded the playlist. Scott is awesome.

My wife and I got married at the Red Inn in Provincetown on June 4th, 2011. We met with Scott several times to go through our ideas for pre-wedding tunes, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We had a pretty specific idea about the kind of music we wanted, and had even considered creating our own playlists in lieu of a DJ. After working with Scott, I can definitely say we made the right decision! Scott made numerous suggestions, based on our music preferences, which turned out to be the hits of the reception. He was also a great help setting up the microphone for the ceremony, coordinating speeches, dinner, keeping the reception moving, etc. He was very amenable to adding any song that we wanted to his collection, at no extra charge to us. My mother made a special request for the Electric Slide, which Scott honored, even though he admitted he was proud that he had to go out and get the song. At the end of the reception, the crowd chanted, "Scott, Scott, Scott!" in hopes that he would play one last song as an encore, and even though the reception was technically over, he gave the people what they wanted. It was a great way to end a great evening, and we can't thank Scott enough for everything he did to help make our celebration so memorable!

I would happily and highly recommend Scott Benowicz as a talented, professional, and extremely knowledgeable wedding DJ. My husband and I were married in June of 2010, and were delighted with our experience working with Scott! I was actually approached by several wedding guests praising the music, some even going as far as to suggest that we publish the playlist online (we have yet to do this, but are thinking about it!)

My wedding was in my backyard which initially made me question the logistics of sound and speakers, but he was prepared with all the necessary equipment; all the musical cues/songs (both during the ceremony and reception) went off without a hitch. My father and father-in-law had also prepared a song to sing (as a surprise!) during the reception, and Scott was able to coordinate the new timeline very professionally and on short notice. My husband and I were also adamant about our DJ not screaming into the microphone, playing centerpiece games, or handing out inflatable props... believe me, Scott's your man. He plays great music and wouldn't dream of busting out any tackiness!

Scott is very personable and easy to work with, and was intent on making our wedding music a direct reflection of us. He is very talented in viewing your "must-have" songs and gauging which additional songs will make for a complete, classy, and fun celebration - a skill that my husband and I were very impressed with. The dinner music transitioned seamlessly into party music, entertaining our guests until the wee hours, and leaving me happily satisfied that fun was had by all. I, myself, honestly feel like I spent half the night going, "Yes! I love this song!"

My husband and I were thrilled with Scott. He really listened to us, capturing the vibe of our wedding and helping to create the best day of our lives. We would recommend him to anyone :)

Scott was the DJ for my November 2010 wedding reception, and my husband and I could not have been happier with his work. Our reception was dinner and dancing for about 130 people in a formal club setting with a small dance floor. Overall, Scott provided a fun atmosphere and once the dancing started, he kept the dance floor moving. Here are the DJ highlights from our experience working with Scott:

1. Scott was very professional throughout the whole process, from planning our event to being part of a great evening. Communicating with Scott was easy and straightforward, especially because he made himself available for several planning meetings prior to the wedding. He was honest, totally reliable, and he presented himself with complete class at our reception. Also, he coordinated with our venue staff and other vendors independently and effectively. On our wedding day there was a small (unforeseeable) issue with the sound system at our venue, which was entirely outside Scott’s responsibilities, but Scott took the initiative to fix everything so my husband and I never even really knew what the problem was! Working with wedding vendors that you trust makes everything much less stressful and much more fun!

2. Scott made our music and DJ preferences a priority. At his suggestion, we used our favorite songs for dinner music (instead of the classic, Sinatra-heavy wedding playlist). Also, he had no problem handing off the microphone when we requested that my mom and uncle give the reception welcome speech and introduce our toasters (although, I’ve no doubt that Scott would have done an amazing job with the MC work too). These details made our wedding more personal, and Scott encouraged us to work such independent ideas into our event.

3. Best of all, Scott made sure our smallish dance floor was packed the whole night! After getting a rough idea of the dance music we like, Scott put together a great set for the wedding. We mostly left the dance playlist to his discretion, and we were really pleased with the results. It was so great to see the crazy mix of all our friends and family dancing together; even my 80-something year old grandparents spent a lot of time out on the dance floor.

4. So many of our guests have complimented us on Scott’s work!

Scott was terrific to work with, and he did a fantastic job. We highly recommend him to any bride or groom to be!!!

Scott was the perfect DJ for our wedding at the Downtown Harvard Club in Boston. He met with my fiance and me prior to the wedding to go over the songs and playlist for the reception, and his song list was very extensive. He also was receptive to the international songs we wanted played (my husband is Turkish) and downloaded them so they could be played that night. We did not want any hokey wedding songs played (i.e. chicken dance), and he stuck to the most current dance music that the crowd loved. He came to the venue very early to ensure that the set up was smooth and to ensure he had all the outlets that he needed....we appreciated that. He was not one of those DJs who tries to take the spotlight. He introduced the wedding party but otherwise let the great music speak for itself all night. And, he is very reasonable for the quality of work he does.

My husband and I had a small wedding a couple of years back. We were both extremely focused on every element representing a part of who we are as individuals and as a couple. We wanted this to especially come through in the decor, food, libations and most importantly music! We both love to dance and have seriously diverse tastes. Scott embraced this challenge and dedicated himself to deliver this message. He was extremely knowledgeable of all the types of music and specific artists we threw at him. Scott's professionalism and patience shined throughout the process of working out the details of one of the most important elements of our special day. He was incredibly reasonable with the cost for his services, flexible and helpful every time we met. Our overall experience with Scott was amazing and truly considered him to be an additional guest at our wedding with really good taste in music ;). I was very blessed in that I don't have one bad review for any of my vendors, but I really lucked out when it came to getting the DJ. DJ Scott Benowicz is a club DJ who happens to do weddings. I have been to quite a few weddings with the "cheesy wedding DJ" or just a really bad DJ who wants to make himself the center of attention and that was the last thing I wanted for my wedding. ALL of my family and friends love to dance, especially my husband, so the DJ was crucial.

My brother knew of Scott so we contacted and met with him. Not only an amazing DJ, but a great person! He met with us about three times before the wedding to make sure he understood exactly what we were looking for. My husband is originally from India so we needed help with playing some Hindi music that would not drive everyone else off the dance floor. He blended the songs in beautifully. Everyone had a blast going from disco, soul, funk, hindi and back again. It was so much fun! It was like being at the best dance club with just your closest friends and family. He had amazing suggestions for songs and was not afraid to spend the time BEFORE the wedding to make sure everything went smoothly on the big day.

The DJ really does make or break the reception. If the DJ is great, everyone will have the best time. If not, it's a long, long night. I cannot recommend DJ Scott Benowicz enough!

Scott DJ'd our wedding at the Hyatt in Boston and did a fantastic job. We had to meet and communicate via FaceTime or email since we lived in NYC and had trouble collaborating our schedules, but we made it work and Scott made it really convenient for us. We were a little picky about the music and had a long list of songs we wanted him to play, and we made a playlist with Scott on Google Drive that we could all edit to our liking. He was helpful in getting an idea of what we liked and had great recommendations. On our big day, he played a few various songs that we had never heard of (we weren't exactly up to date on current top 40) and the crowd loved it. He really took control and figured out what got the crowd dancing which is exactly what we wanted! I would definitely recommend him as a DJ to people in the area.
