    June Wedding

    Sean was our DJ for the night and he was fantastic. He was ready well before ceremony, had everything we needed and provided a great night by aiding in the timeline of events and having fun with the crowd. Great job!

    Dj and photobooth fun

    My DJ originally was with Lake Erie Events but in the processing of planning to move out of state. I was still able to reserve the photobooth despite the DJ being separated. Danny Shields was a great DJ and everyone loved the photo booth. It was more of a ring light with digital camera, where you could select filters. I would have prefered props but I did have boas!

    Have you even hired a professional so good at their job it instantly ruled out all competitors for a lifetime?

    For we newlyweds, Josh Bennett and Lake Erie Events just made that list.

    Leading up, he was fast to respond, easy to work with (their website is extremely intuitive) and incredibly knowledgeable as to what’s required from a wedding DJ.

    Day of, in between his perfect song choices successfully meant to keep the dance floor lit, he spoke to a ballroom full of strangers as though each and every one of them were a lifelong friend.

    A Master of Ceremonies can make or break a wedding reception. Josh is exceptional at his craft.

    Best wedding DJ!

    We used Lake Erie Events for our wedding in Conneaut Lake, PA, on September 12 and we are SO glad we did! I couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding. Josh Bennett was an absolute pleasure to work with and was very professional throughout the entire experience & evening. Everything went perfectly! Everyone I talked to at the wedding was so impressed with how great he was and how awesome the songs were that he played. I would recommend Lake Erie Events to ANYONE looking for the best wedding DJ!!!

    Lake Erie Events DJ

    We truly couldn’t have asked for a better DJ service. He was prompt from the very start being involved and getting to know us as a couple to fit in at the wedding. He certainly knew how to get and keep the party going. We chose the complete package with up lighting, photo booth, monograms, tv screen and projection. We were more than satisfied with our experience and recommend DJ Josh Bennett to anyone looking for a good time.

    Amazing experience

    Sean Kress from Lake Erie Events was a great DJ. They had a timeline and everything planned. It ran so smooth. He played a variety of music. Several people came up during the reception asking about him for future events. He surprised us with an ending dance to our song with people holding phone lights around us. It was actually the best moment of the night! Thank you guys so much! I would definitely recommend you to everyone!

    Great for your wedding planning needs

    We worked with Deana to plan our ceremony on the beach in Presque Isle. She was wonderful through the whole process and flexible around my busy schedule. The price was affordable and Deana made sure everything was perfect. We would definitely recommend Lake Erie Events for your wedding planning needs 😊

    DJ Josh did our outside wedding. Even though it rained he made sure the rain wasn't going to stop us or our guest from having a good time! He is very kind, professional, fun, and entertaining. He was very helpful and great to work with. DJ Josh is one of the best out there. My guest loved him and so do we. I recommend him to anyone and would definitely want him for our up coming events.     Best dj ever!

    We used Lake Erie Events- DJ Josh Bennett with his assistant Sean and they were ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! We booked them a year in advance after researching many DJs and are very HAPPY with our decision! Josh kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT long! We received so many compliments about them and how Josh was the best DJ ever!! From the song choices, to the uplighting, to the monogram, everything was AMAZING. Josh was very professional but yet fun at the same time. Would highly highly highly recommend Lake Erie Events!!

    Josh did an amazing job at our daughter reception. He was not one of those DJs who talk just to hear himself talk. Not tacky signs or self promotion. I will admit that I was a little nervous about how the day would go because of some problems with communication during the process. My fears were quickly laid to rest once we got to the venue. He made sure everything flowed smoothly and I had no worries for the rest of the night. He is flexible as far as adding time if you feel you need or want it. The guests really enjoyed the "shoe" game

    Disappointing and unprofessional

    My wife and I hired Lake Erie Events to provide audio for our outdoor wedding ceremony and reception in August 2021. We experienced a lot of let downs and many negative things leading up to, throughout our wedding day, and even afterwards in our interactions with Josh. Perhaps the worst thing was the level of certainty and assuredness that Josh gave us during our initial phone calls, which turned out too good to be true. From the day I submitted payment, he began not responding to any of my texts and the Lake Erie Events phone system only put me through to the message machine, followed by no returned phone calls. This happened for a matter of weeks leading up to two weeks before the wedding when I was finally able to set up a meeting through the customer portal. I couldn’t reach anyone at Lake Erie Events for weeks on end, and that was extremely stressful and discouraging because there were important details that we needed to discuss. Additionally, he promised to call us two days before the wedding to go over final details and he never did that either. The next thing to let us down was his equipment, which failed within the first 5 minutes of our wedding ceremony due to an apparent heat induced fail safe because of the sun. After the processional and music, we were left without microphones for the entire remainder of the ceremony. He had music back on for our exit, but we lost a lot which was very important to us, and we never even received as much as an apology. The worst part is that I had seen his audio fail at a previous wedding, so I asked him in advance if he could provide me some assurance it wouldn’t happen, and of course he did. I realize things happen that are unexpected, and I understand that equipment can fail, but considering he is a professional, my wife and I expected a great deal more empathy from Josh, or at least an acknowledgement that things went wrong. We were upset. The next thing to happen was just before we walked into the reception, Josh was reviewing the final details with us and kept talking over my wife. He would cut her off mid-sentence, and this happened multiple times until I had to speak up and say what she was trying to say because he wouldn’t let her. It was not a chaotic atmosphere when this happened either, as everyone in the bridal party for the most part was being attentive and listening to Josh so I know that he heard my wife speaking before cutting her off. Also due to us not being able to talk to him in our final meeting (because he didn’t call as promised), and him closing off our access to the online form early, we had details about song choices that we had to try to relay to him on the day of the wedding. Right before our big entrance to the reception, we found out that a lot of Josh’s other notes about the reception events were incorrect. Details we made a point to discuss in our most recent video call 4 weeks prior to the wedding. If we hadn’t straightened things out in those final moments, things would have gone totally out of order. Josh was totally unprepared in that regard. Furthermore, our bridesmaids had special plans prepared for their toasts and needed particular music, but had great difficulties communicating with Josh for weeks leading up to the wedding. After they were finally able to get ahold of him, the day of the wedding we learned that Josh had never downloaded the music requested by the bridesmaids, and we had to push the events of the reception back waiting for him to download the music for the toasts. We set up a phone call with Josh a couple weeks after the wedding as part of a survey he asked us to complete. During that phone call, we had the opportunity to express our frustrations and most importantly, our disappointment in losing the ceremony audio. He was understanding and reasonable with us on the phone, and said he wanted to make it right with us by giving us a partial refund for the ceremony audio and possibly some money back to make up for his lack of professionalism and the difficulties we had with communications. I did not want to write this review and put all this negativity on his business, because everyone deserves a chance to make things right, and he appreciated that and we had a good conversation where I provided him with constructive criticism and he seemed to be glad to have it. We spoke on a Friday, and he promised to get back in touch with me the following Tuesday to let me know what he was planning to do for the refund and making things right with me. But instead of a text or a phone call, I was ghosted and haven’t heard from him since. Just the icing on the cake, for one broken promise after the next with Lake Erie Events and its owner, Josh.

    Reconsider

    I strongly advise everyone looking into this DJ service to reconsider. I have given it two months since my wedding to have Josh reach back out to me and really think about the review that I give his business. Honestly, I give it a solid 1 out of 5 stars. I chose his company because I went to other weddings he was the DJ at and he did a fantastic job, mixed music, kept everyone on the dance floor and very entertaining. So that’s why I chose him. Granted it was 4 years ago I saw his work but was very pleased. I contacted him and booked with him with his promise he would be the DJ at our wedding. He is expensive, but I thought he was worth it. Prior to the wedding about a month or two in advanced he has an automated email that gets sent out to schedule a time with him to make final decisions and get the timeline ready to go. Day of the meeting he sends out a message he couldn’t talk to me because of some excuse. So I was very understanding at this time. I rescheduled the meeting. 5 minutes before the rescheduled meeting he texts that he is sick. Again, very understanding on my behalf. I rescheduled for the THIRD TIME. The Sunday before my wedding, 6 days before go time. I’m waiting by the phone. Absolutely no contact from this man. I give him 30 minutes, still nothing. I send an email and text. Still nothing. It’s an hour passed the meeting I start panicking. Phone calls, voicemails left, I have 6 days before my wedding and I haven’t heard from the DJ whether is will be in attendance or not. He is completely paid in full as well, has been for a year. A lot of money down the drain to have your VERY EXPENSIVE entertainer not have the audacity to reach out. I do end up getting a text message apologizing because he’s in another time zone and here is his new general manager Sean’s number, Josh himself will not be in he DJ as he took another position out of state. I’m beyond angry but have to let it go because at this point what am I supposed to do.
    Wedding day. Sean is the DJ. The ceremony was completely messed up music wasn’t played when it was supposed to. The reception Sean was barely at the DJ booth. Walking away to be on his phone. Started the reception late. Absolutely no mixes were played, friends and family had to request songs just to try to keep the night going. I had to go up to him to tell him to announce the cake cutting. The timeline was not followed. I give it a 1 out of 5, because I suppose there was music played. But it is unfortunate the amount of money I paid and the product I received were not at all comparable. I got a Spotify playlist for a whole lot of money.
    I reach out to Josh, after another automated email gets sent out after the wedding to leave POSITIVE reviews on specific websites, but if unhappy please reach out to Josh. He says he will be in contact with me but he was in “meetings” that day. Two weeks go by and now my husband reaches out. Josh replies that he will give money back but he is waiting for Sean to give the song playlist back from that day before doing so. We send another message and absolutely no reply back from Josh. I see he has even increased his prices even more to have the client fly him to and from and his hotel stay. Do with your money as you will, however, I personally think you should REALLY reconsider. He is very unprofessional, and my personal opinion is he shouldn’t run a business in Erie Pennsylvania when he lives in another state. Give up your company.

    Horrible Experience

    If you’re looking for a DJ that will ghost you for months, give no explanation for doing so, give you attitude for questioning why, and proudly pocket your hard earned money for no work, you’ve found your guy in Josh Bennett!

    Stay away!

    I have never left a bad review anywhere before, but I just want to warn future brides because I wish someone would have warned me...

    Getting any type of communication back was a nightmare. I would leave numerous emails and voicemails to get a call back weeks later... Our DJ did not get in touch with us until one week before the wedding to iron out all of the details...

    I went over the details two different times with our DJ, Sean. I gave him the order in which we wanted the bridal party announced. He did it out of order. We wanted our speeches to go first, then our first dance. He did not listen and did our first dance at the beginning of our reception before all of the speeches. During the reception, the microphone cut out for all of the speeches, making it difficult to hear at some points. He did not play any slow songs other than the ones we requested. When we spoke with the owner, he said that Lake Erie Events ends the reception on a unique note with a beautiful song, that did not happen. Lastly, Sean did not play half of our songs that we listed when they asked us specifically to write these down for him.

    I would highly recommend not booking Lake Erie Events.

    Complete Disappointment

    My son and his wife used this DJ for their August wedding. There were several problems. The microphone for the speeches cut out continuously with no response from the DJ. The requested order of the bridal party introductions was not followed. The timing and order of special dances was not followed. Many songs requested by the couple were never played. After raising their concerns, they were promised a partial refund. It has never materialized and now he will not respond to text messages, voice mail messages, etc. Completely incompetent and unprofessional. This experience has marred their memories of the most special of days.
