Excellent Wedding DJ

DJ Johnny Walker was absolutely incredible. He covered our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Everything went off without a hitch. He incorporated many of our favorite songs into the night and our dance floor was constantly packed. I can't recommend him enough!

The best wedding DJ!!

Hiring Johnny for our wedding was the best decision we made! We had some complicated requests when it came to song choices for the aisle and parent dances but he nailed everything perfectly. Every. Single. Person. (My 85 year old grandma included!) came out the dance floor, the music couldn’t have been more perfect. His sound system was high quality, we had zero issues with any mics or speakers. He was extremely communicative and reliable as well, literally everything was perfect. You won’t regret hiring him!

Fun, Accommodating, and Kind!

We loved working with Johnny to make our day perfect! The process was easy and we completed a worksheet that had our must plays and our do not plays. He did a call with me the day before so I could express all of my crazy nerves, and he answered all of my questions. The day of he showed up early for set up, played perfect music for every part of our wedding, stayed on the timeline, and made all of the announcements we needed! Overall he was so kind and easy to work with. We highly recommend!

Amazing DJ

Hours of dancing, amazing, fun! Our wedding with DJ Johnny Walker was an absolute blast. From the moment the music started, the dance floor was never empty. The atmosphere created by DJ Johnny was energetic and lively, keeping our guests entertained all night long.

One of the positives of working with DJ Johnny Walker was their professionalism and responsiveness. Whenever we had a question or request, they were quick to reply and accommodate us, making the planning process much smoother. Their experience in handling weddings was evident, and it gave us peace of mind knowing that they had everything under control.

On the day of the wedding, the DJ seamlessly transitioned between songs, keeping the party flowing smoothly. The music selection was spot on, catering to both the older and younger guests, ensuring everyone had a great time on the dance floor. Their ability to read the crowd and adjust the playlist accordingly was impressive and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.

DJ Johnny Walker Does Not Miss

We provided John a very eclectic list of songs for the reception and dancing at our June wedding - everything from country line dancing to classic dance hits to smooth jazz and ambient. He handled last minute changes with grace, read the crowd, and far exceeded our expectations. He coordinated seamlessly with live musicians and our officiant to ensure everyone was mic’d up and that audio could be heard without issue all the way in the back row of our outdoor wedding, away from any power outlets. We enthusiastically recommend DJ Johnny Walker without hesitation.

You won't regret hiring him!!

DJ Johnny Walker was by far the easiest and friendliest vendor we have ever dealt with. From our wedding date changing to making the big change of just doing a reception, DJ Johnny was up for it all. We even changed the timeline on him the day off and during the reception we last minute recreated our father daughter/mother daughter dances, and he had no worry! He even had a way to get our songs our parents chose (not popular or on many streaming devices). I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants a DJ who knows how to get the entire party on the dance floor and keep them there! Thank you!!

Phenomenal DJ, Highly Recommend!

We could not be any happier with having DJ Johnny Walker at our wedding. Both of us have friends in the DJ industry, so we are picky...we were blown away by DJ Johnny Walker. We provided a list of songs for cocktail hour/dinner/dancing, and from there he understood the vibe we were going for and just ran with it! At one point just about everyone was on the dance floor, which I've never seen happen at a wedding! 10/10 would recommend!

DJ Johnny Walker is the best!

I am so happy that I decided to work with DJ Johnny Walker for my wedding day. He was very responsive and flexible during the planning process especially with COVID and our wedding date changing. On our wedding day, he was organized and he kept the whole night on track. He played all the songs I asked him to play and totally understood the vibe we were going for. My fear before my wedding was that no one was going to dance and DJ Johnny Walker was totally able to read the crowd and we ended up having the opposite problem - we couldn't get people off the dance floor! Overall, we had an amazing wedding day and that had a lot to due with our DJ. If you are having your wedding on the Central Coast definitely hire DJ Johnny Walker!!

Gracious and Kind

Because of COVID-19, my husband and I weren't able to have the big wedding we dreamed up. However, John was always so responsive, flexible with our changing date, and even sent our entire deposit back to us when we settled on a date that was already booked for him. He is professional, affordable, and a great person. Highly recommend!

Perfect DJ for Our Wedding

John was the perfect addition to our wedding. Working with him before the wedding was extremely easy - he is flexible and was our most responsive vendor. John blended perfectly into the setting, complimenting the beauty of the day. He played all our requested music and selected other songs that fit the moods we asked for during the ceremony, cocktail hour and during dancing. We highly recommend working with John!

Absolutely perfect

Johnny is fantastic. He was outgoing and fun all night. All of his transitions between songs were perfect. We filled out his song form to give him a feel of what we wanted and he got the vibe right in point. I would recommend him 100%.

Johnny Walker was great. Incredibly easy and flexible to work with leading up to our wedding. Then spot-on in helping us make our day everything we could have hoped for.

We gave Johnny a few songs we liked for each phase of the day (pre-ceremony, dinner, dancing, etc.) to give him an idea of our tastes. From there he took the ball and ran with it beautifully. No awkward transitions, just a ton of great music and a smooth flow throughout the entire evening.

Played All Our Requests

Johnny was so receptive to our requests and definitely felt the vibe of the crowd. The amazing thing he did without our even asking, was play the most appropriate music during dinner that did not interfere with the ability of guests to have a conversation. Once the dance music started, he played all of our requests without question, including some obscure songs. It was the right mix the entire night and we all had a blast on the dance floor.

Vineyard wedding/dance party

We had our ceremony in an open field in the vineyards.... I had many guests come up to me afterwards to say they can't remember the last time they went to a wedding and could hear every single word of the ceremony. Johnny Walkers sound system was amazing. Also we told him dancing was important for us and our guests.... We danced the WHOLE night away! Couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank u for making our day perfect!

Absolutely Amazing!

I would highly, highly recommend DJ John to anyone getting married on the Central Coast!!! He is so talented, really listens to what you are asking for, is very professional, and kept the flow of our day running so smoothly! We only communicated via email up until the wedding day, but it felt like he knew us as he was announcing our day and choosing songs all night. All of our guests commented on how great our DJ was, and we couldn't agree more! John took such a big piece of our wedding day and effortlessly executed it all! We can't thank him enough and hope you choose him for you wedding day!

Amazing and worry free!

Dj Johnny Walker killed it at our wedding! Made everything simple by giving us an outline to fill out before and then he played everything we wanted to here. Also took very good care of our guests with some random crazy requests. All around good guy, would recommend 11/10

John is amazing! John came recommended from a coworker of ours and we're happy we booked him. It was extremely easy to work with John. He answered all our questions over email (very quick to respond too). John also nailed the song list at our wedding. We gave him a few songs for each category and he captured our style perfectly.

DJ Johnny Walker was the best! Found him on wedding wire for our May 2018 wedding and we could not be more happy with our pick! He was easy to get in contact with right from the beginning. Laid back and just a genuine guy. We had so much fun with him at the wedding. You know how sometimes you go to weddings and the DJ just takes over and you want to unplug their mics?? THIS NEVER HAPPENED!!! We are still getting compliments on what a great choice we made, how great his music was and how nice he was. He was so accommodating and easy to get in touch with. He provided us with a great info sheet for us to do some song selections and then based what he played off of that and he nailed it. We had the best time with him!!

We've been to a lot of weddings lately. We've never seen a better DJ than Johnny Walker. And thank goodness because he provided a joyous mix of music, celebration and grace at our daughter's wedding this weekend at Still Waters Vineyard. He did not try to dominate the festivities or cajole guests into a party mode with a boisterous personality, or blast okder guests off the dance floor. He created an atmosphere of rhythm and fun for everyone! We are grateful to our daughter's wedding coordinator, Brooke Johnson, for recommending Johnny Walker. The best!!!

DJ Johnny Walker was PERFECT! He worked with us prior to the wedding to ensure he understood our musical taste and played all our favorite music. We've been to a number of weddings where the DJ tries to own the show and narrate everything, which I personally am not a fan of. DJ Johnny Walker, was the perfect MC when needed and kept the guests out on the dance floor with an awesome mix of music. Definitely recommend him!

John was so great for our wedding! He was easy to work with. And helped make all my ideas for music a reality! Including a last minute "silent disco"! A week before the wedding we decided to book a silent disco from a local vendor and he was more than willing to work with them to help it go off without a hitch! Best decision ever!

John was an awesome DJ. He allowed our singers to hook up to his equipment as well as recorded the audio for our videographer. He collaborated very well with us on the music for our ceremony as well as the reception. I highly recommend DJ Johnny Walker!

Johnny was the perfect choice for our wedding! We had some interesting song requests, tricky sound maneuvers, and he handled all our needs seamlessly. DJ Johnny Walker was awesome to work with, even considering I contacted him relatively last-minute. He was very accommodating and chill to work with. My husband and I wanted a stress free, easy, but gorgeous wedding, and we got exactly that. The DJ is super important to the reception and DJ Johnny Walker came through. My wedding was perfect and not stressing about the music or DJ contributed to that. Two thumbs up and 5-stars!

Yes, book this DJ. It is really that simple. We had a fairly long vetting process when choosing our DJ and we couldn't have had a better outcome. I am not sure what I appreciated the most because John was so great. The music was exactly what we wanted at each point of the wedding, I can't imagine it being better. Our wedding venue had some odd restrictions when it came to amplified music but John did a great job and I never really felt those restrictions on the day of. When it came to planning, John was also great there. Every question was answered timely, and really clearly which I really appreciated when I was communicating with several vendors at once. Overall for the wedding there are a couple things I would do different, but I was stick with our DJ over and over again.

If you want a DJ that listen's to what you want? Book him. He helped keep the cocktail to speeches to dance party and everything in between perfectly timed without us even knowing what was going on. If you want a DJ that is great on the mic? Book him. He was perfect, not to much and not to little! He helped set the vibe for the whole evening! If you want a DJ that is crazy easy to work with that has zero ego? Book him....from the 1st call to the last dance Johnny was nothing but helpful. He helped with timing, music thoughts and wonderful with email/call back timing. He took the stress off of everything. When he was hired we got to just check it off the list and it was taken care of! If you want a DJ that plays the JAMS? BOOK HIM! From the 1st dance to the last the dance the floor was FULL and not just the crazy kids that love to dance. My aunts and uncles and grand parents were living it up like it was the night of their lives. DJ Johnny made everyone relaxed and focused on the joy and love of the night. Plain and simple...BOOK HIM!

Johnny was awesome! He kept everybody on the dance floor and made sure the energy was high. Our guests loved the playlist and all wished we had more time to dance that night. He knew the perfect moment to transition to the chair dance and Tarantella. Basically whatever you can dream up, Johnny can deliver!

From the very beginning Johnny was beyond exceptional. He was available for any questions, responsive and attentive. His job performance at our wedding was perfect. His timing, was flawless, music selection was perfect and shining personality beamed from him.
It goes without saying that a couple's wedding day is their most important. But it really comes down to the vendors that that couple chooses. How well THEY perform their job has so much to do with the success of a wedding. I can with all of my heart say that Johnny had a lot to do with the overwhelming success of mine and Mona's wedding. We are forever in gratitude to those who worked so hard to make this the best day of our lives. And Johnny was a huge contributor to this.
I very highly recommend DJ johnny for your event.

He's the best! He read the crowd perfectly and the dance floor was packed. Everyone loved it and commented on how great the music was. I had an amazing time and I am picky when it comes to music :) I had a slightly complicated father daughter dance routine and some special requests and he did a great job with all of it. We had a great experience we DJ Johnny Walker! He quickly responded to our inquiry and we had a FaceTime chat since we were planning our Paso Robles wedding from Los Angeles. When we came to visit closer to our wedding date Johnny was kind enough to meet us face to face for coffee on a Sunday morning. We brought Johnny on as one of our vendors because we loved his laid back vibe, professionalism, and happy demeanor. And he didn't disappoint! DJ Johnny Walker was fantastic! He made sure to play the songs we requested for specific activities, as well as for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, of course! He also made accurate selections for additional music based the info we provided. The events were a little behind schedule, but he did a great job filling in music and helping to make all the necessary announcements to accommodate that. DJ Johnny Walker was the perfect wedding DJ. We interviewed a few DJs and chose him after reading the online reviews and meeting him in person. He is very communicative and exactly what you need in a vendor, a calming force in a chaotic day...a good example is me changing our entrance song during the cocktail hour. He was right on point with the timing, announcements and cadence, but in no way stole the show like some DJs and was as invisible as possible. Most importantly, he crushed the song list and we had an awesome dance party--and it looked like he was having as much fun as our guests! Pick DJ Johnny Walker as your DJ with confidence.

John was amazing from the start. Since we've attended some events/weddings that he DJ'd we already knew we were in good hands. BUT it being a NYE wedding, he had the pressure to really bring it. His battery powered system for our ceremony was key since there was no power around and rocked the house (tent) for the reception. Our main goal for our wedding was for our guests to dance their butts off and there wasn't a single song when the dance floor wasn't packed. His timing was perfect and as a fellow wedding vendor, this was hugely important to me. We would HIGHLY recommend DJ Johnny Walker!

DJ Johnny Walker is THE BEST. He was the very best vendor at our wedding and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. He made sure all the sound was perfect at our windy, complicated outdoor wedding. He coordinated speeches and tables to get food. He made sure our live performances were heard and played just at the right times. His music choices were excellent, even for our 30-something hipster friends and he guided us smoothly from sleek soiree to mad dance party within two songs.

I couldn't be happier having chose DJ Johnny Walker for my wedding. Where to begin...!! Upon first looking into Johnny, he was extremely responsive and suggested we do a FaceTime chat so he could get to know our style and hopes for the wedding. I gave him some specific songs as well as our style and he fit it perfectly! I originally thought we would need 6 hours of his time and he happily obliged, letting me know that any change in timing could easily be accommodated even after the contract was in place. We eventually chose an acoustic guitarist for the ceremony/cocktail hour so we only needed Johnny's time for the reception (4 hours) and he was at the site plenty early to set up and make sure the sound checks were in place without anyone hearing him during the ceremony.

The music was perfectly on point for the reception; I gave him a specific list of songs for dinner time and I was so happy to get to hear each one of them while I shoveled food as quickly as possible! The father/daughter and mother/son dances were perfect; I never thought that a 3 minute song that we chose would feel too long, but as soon as I started to think "Man, this song is getting a little long" he smoothly transitioned into the next dance. He kept the flow of dancing songs at an all-time high; everyone raved about how insanely fun the reception was and I'm sure most of it had to do with his song lineup! The best part was when we played "the serious dance", where you have to dance without smiling/laughing and try to get everyone else to smile by dancing crazily. He let us grab the mic and call people out if they smiled and started a pretty epic dance-off at the very end.

I strongly recommend DJ Johnny Walker to anyone who wants to have an amazing wedding experience!!

Johnny is the consummate professional! He is a pleasure to work with and his prices are to kick ass! He understood the music mixes I wanted and provided such without a skip or a beat! His spinning got everyone grooving... EVERYONE! People were dancing so intensely that they were sweating and howling! He is also on time, and was helpful with our Western Cowboy Ho-down on a 6-acre ranch the night before the wedding! DJ Johnny Walker was a true professional and really helped make our wedding a special event. He took time to talk with us to get to know us a little when we were looking for who to hire, and we got a good feeling about his style from him (as well as the other reviews). He made it easy for us in that he practically needed no direction from us besides the cues in the timeline and our major song requests. I felt like I could trust him to do his job and focus on other aspects of the wedding, which helped quite a bit.

The quality of his sound system seemed great and the acoustics worked really well for our event. I was concerned before the event that people might not dance, but I think he created a really good flow for the event that encouraged people to get out there and have some fun. Guests at the wedding kept letting me know that they loved the playlist that he put on, and he managed to play songs that guests of all ages could enjoy. We had a fantastic time at our wedding and are very happy with our choice in going with DJ Johnny Walker.

DJ Johnny Walker did a stellar job at our wedding. He wasn't cheesy. He didn't talk to much or make really lame jokes. He did exactly what we asked, on time. Johnny Walker went above and beyond. I (groom) did not think to pick out a mother/son dance song... So, Just before I was walking out on the dance floor with my mother I looked at him and said, I need you to pick a song for me. With total composure he just smiled and said no problem. I liked this. He simply took the reigns and took care of the problem without a bunch of questions. My mom told me how sweet I was for picking such a great song:)
He was courteous, Well groomed, current and not the least bit obnoxious.

John Walker was decent. I was a little disappointed because I had read amazing reviews on Wedding Wire and expected him to be incredible. We did have a difficult venue where he was hooked up to a generator but I still felt like there were mistakes throughout the whole night that he made. First, we asked if he was going to come to the rehearsal and he said no. Totally fine however, it would have been nice to go over everything on the music list we provided him. Second, he didn't play any music when the groom, parents and grandparents were walking down the isle. We provided a song for the wedding party to go down to and I don't know if he thought that only meant bridesmaids, but we thought he would realize that he should play music while everyone in the wedding walked down the isle. Third, after they pronounced us husband and wife, he started playing our song but then it STOPPED playing right as we were halfway through. The crowd cheered us on so it was fine but it just kind of sucked not having the song we took so long to pick out play as we walked down. Lastly, he took a long time to start playing the cocktail hour music. It should have been ready right after the ceremony. John did stay for an extra hour to play for us which was AWESOME so I am giving him more stars then I would have. I hate giving a slightly negative review but I think brides should know how everything happened at my wedding to avoid these things happening at theirs.

Finding a DJ was the last item on our wedding planning list. We should have spent more time on it, but I was honestly burnt out. DJ Johnny Walker was responsive and seemed attentive at the beginning when we first started communicating. He was also recommended so I thought, why not. . .? His pricing is very reasonable and perhaps the most reasonable in the area. However, with that being said, I assembled all of the playlists on Spottify and sent them to him. He then told me that he wanted specifically for me to fill out his word document ... with the songs on the playlist I had already sent him digitally. He wanted me to actually print it out and fill it out by hand. Who has the time for that nowadays? I had sent him playlists with an overage of songs so that as a DJ, he could do his own kind of mix amongst the songs I had selected and according to the mood of the day. He complained that there were too many and that I should go in again and filter it. I sent him a song for the groomsmen entrance that kind of had a long introduction, but I just wanted him to play the chorus. He said he didn't do editing, and that any songs I sent him would be played "as is." We had kind of an open mic portion of the reception that didn't really pan out as expected (not his fault), but he suggested I buy a pick up for our acoustic guitar that didn't plug into an amp. It cost me $80 and we didn't even end up using it. Why? I'm not sure. He decided last minute that we didn't need it. . . I wasn't around most of the night to hear the music that he did play, although the little I heard I think I heard some repeats. Perhaps the most disappointing part of the night was that he messed up our first dance song, by starting it too late, so it messed up our choreography, and we weren't facing in the right direction for the photographers, videographer, and the majority of the guests. This was incredibly disappointing because we had been working on this dance for 10 months.
