DJ Gomez was absolutely incredible from start to finish. He kept the dance floor packed all night, read the crowd perfectly, and created the exact vibe we wanted. The transitions were seamless, the energy was contagious, and the music selection was spot-on for all ages. He was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. Had a lot of fun. Used DJ for ceremony and Reception. It was in 2 different rooms and he was able to set up for both rooms. Was on time fast communication and great sound system. -

DJ Gomez was awesome! I cannot stress enough how flexible he was with the schedule, how awesome he was at putting together a playlist based on a few requests, and just generally how professional and friendly he was! His setup was great, the lighting was beautiful, he provided microphones to those giving speeches. I have a few more weddings coming up in my family and I have already recommended him to EVERYONE. He was absolutely amazing! -

I just want to take a moment to appreciate how great of a Job Dj Gomez did for my wedding. Considering the little time we had to plan and make this the best day possible, he made my dream come to life. My husband and I had an amazing time. Communication beforehand was pretty disappointing. I had asked for a little direction on how I could best help him understand my vision. He said he had an outline he could send me for an idea, but it never got sent despite me repeatedly asking. Then, about a month before the wedding I emailed him my own timeline with a few questions and his only response was, "got it." I didn't hear from him again, even though I still had questions, until a WEEK before the wedding where he told me he had been on vacation and would email me with any questions in a day or two. He never did. The wedding week a very busy time and I really wish we had both made time for at least a phone call to get on the same page before the big day.
BUT I think he did a good job despite all that. We had some funny requests and he made it happen. Even when the itinerary got messed up, he rolled with it (the officiant left out an announcement that set everything off balance). So I know, and he knows that things did not go as planned, but the guests were none the wiser and I think that is what made him a good dj to have.
He is fair in his pricing and his base set up was perfect for us. The mic did not work outside for the ceremony, but that turned into it's own special story for us- we were nervous talking in front of everyone anyway, so we actually didn't mind tossing it aside. And as I said, the itinerary got messed up, but he made sure he was available to me if I needed to tell him anything during the reception.
Overall, thank you Carlos. I know it could have gone better, but I'm glad you remained professional.

I took a few days to really consider how to review DJ Carlos, but these are my honest feelings and I'm extremely disappointed in the service I was provided for the price I paid and stress/anxiety I put into my wedding DJ.
First, I admit I sent the timeline and music on Nov 3 and the wedding was Nov. 7 afternoon.
Review:
I emailed and texted DJ Carlos a couple months before the wedding asking if we could meet at the venue. Assuming, he wanted to understand the space and any electrical requirements. He called me and literally said "Why do you want to meet so bad? It's not convenient for me and I will be at the venue hours before and after to set-up and teardown. You will have a lot of time to talk to me the day of."
I am naive about weddings and apologized for being needy and said no problem as he knew more than I. Again, I later sent my music list and timeline on Nov. 3.
The day of - The timeline said Ceremony started at 3:30 PM. My contract says 3:30PM, no issues and agree on this. My timeline did say start playing "seating guest music" at 3:15PM, which maybe I was wrong to assume that he would arrive before the ceremony and that you normally start music before the ceremony.
In either case, It was 2:20PM and he had not arrived. When I called him he said "You changed the ceremony time 15 minutes early and I wasn't prepared. However, I'm about to exit."
Ok, fine, but 3:30 PM ceremony time didn't change and he told me before he would be there hours before setting up.
1) He finally arrives. He was mixed up by electrical requirements of the venue. He was wearing sneakers, t-shirt, and casual jeans. He was not personable.
2) He doesn't play any seating the guest songs, but fortunately the venue played music until the DJ was set-up. He told the groom "songs are downloading."
3) He plays the processional twice and the groom discovers that DJ was missing an entire page of the timeline and didn't know what the bridal processional was.
4) I am told by guests he looked lost most of the time, walking around aimlessly, walking around tables during the reception, and was overall uncomfortable.
5) He announced bride/groom way too late during re-entry and had to be told when/what to say including song to play during reception.
6) While I didn't give a do-not-play list, fair, it was clearly a religious ceremony. DJ decided to play Colt 45 (marijuana song). I was shocked. Maybe not his fault as I didn't explicitly say not to play?
7) The time line said to "Announce time for toasts and if no toasts, announce that bride/groom would like to say thank you."
DJ Carlos said "Now bride and groom will give thank you speeches" only.
8) He played the wrong version of the father/daughter dance song. My dad was a bit disappointed at that...
9) His phone text sound went off during a dance song.
I could go on and on, really. I would not be so frustrated if I had never engaged the DJ, but I did. I wanted to meet before and he said no.
I wanted him at least an hour before like he said, he wasn't.
He gave me a template to use. I used it and copied and pasted exact youtube linked for the songs, he disregarded and was un-prepared.
He gave no lights or any ambience to the existing atmosphere, which was mentioned in the quote. He was not personable and was instead oddly quiet and unapproachable.
I also think he knew all of this which is why we hardly spoke during the wedding. He also left insanely quick, which is great because I didn't feel pressured to tip. -
