The reason we initially chose Gary as our DJ for the wedding was because my aunt recommended him! He was the DJ at two of my cousins' weddings about 8 and 10 years ago! I remembered having fun and dancing at their weddings, so I gave him a call. Right from the start he was professional, yet personable as well. I mentioned my aunt, and he remembered the family and asked how everyone was doing; so nice! Gary gave us all of the information we needed, and was easy to get a hold of if we had questions. He 100% accommodated our taste in music! (I made a list of songs and gave it to him, although he also provides tons and tons of options with song lists he gives you as well). People (a mix of young and old) were dancing all night long! Many people told me how great the music was the night of the wedding. My mother also told me many people told her the same thing! Gary was a positive and energetic DJ. We were completely happy with our decision in choosing him. I am glad my aunt suggested him in the first place!

Exceptional DJ

I am a wedding photographer, I have worked and recommended Gary for over a decade. He is one of the best DJ's in the Hudson Valley. The thing I like best about his style is he doesn't "scream on the mic" (trust me you will get a headache by the end of the night with the screamers). Gary gets the crowd going and the party moving with giveaways and feeling the vibe of the crowd. Highly recommend

Gary was so awesome in every aspect. He worked with us every step of the way. He explained in great detail how things work and what to expect, gave sound advice when needed. His patience with me was golden too, as I am sometimes terrible at responding in a timely manner. We are so glad we chose Gary, he really was a huge part of making our perfect day happen! Gary gave me the best wedding ever with a great soundtrack. He was very professional and courteous. He was very good mixing up music as well as looking at our play and do not play list to see which types of music we liked.

Beyond Amazing

I can't say enough good things about Gary! He did my cousin Katrina's wedding last August and once I was engaged I knew he was the DJ I wanted. Once everyone got on the dance floor Gary made sure they did not leave. We were having such an amazing time with him we even asked him to stay for 2 extra hours! If you want a wedding where you dance the night away Gary is the DJ to go with. He was also super flexible when we had last minute changes with our announcement line up and did fantastic. I would 100% recommend him for any event, he was amazing!

Excellent DJ!

Our family has been using DJ Gary Whitaker for 20 years. With each new engaged couple in our family Gary is recommended every time and he never disappoints. He responds to emails quickly and is thorough in planning reception details and timeline. We gave him a list of songs we liked for both cocktail hour and reception and he filled in with similar songs that were spot on. The dance floor was packed the entire night with slow songs incorporated just at the right times. He was accommodating to our special dance requests and timing of the dances. We will be recommending Gary to all future brides we know!

If you want an Exceptional DJ......

This was the 3rd event that we have had Gary Whitaker DJ for us and once again he crushed it! Gary is professional, organized and offers ideas to make your special day one to remember. He has this innate ability to read the room and react to the group with an enormous selection of music that gets everyone on the floor
Highly recommend this very talented and courteous music man for any party/wedding/social event that you are hosting.

We could not have hired a better Dj for our wedding. Gary was extremely easy to work with, responded to our emails and calls very fast and answered all of our questions. At the wedding he was professional, and polite. When it came to the music selection, we had a few songs that weren't common songs but he had no problems getting anything we wanted. Except for the special dance songs we barely gave any imput on the music and my guests are raving at how wonderful the selection was and how it was a great mix and got every single person to get up and dance! If your considering Gary, my advice is to book him before it's too late!

Set us at ease!

Gary takes his time to get to know you and always asks what you want. He is incredibly flexible and is willing to listen and change if need be. We had a problem with one of our other vendors before speaking with Gary and Gary put us at ease. His level of professionalism can't be beat!

Gary was an absolute pleasure!! He always responded to emails, and was very professional!!! He called a few days before the wedding to confirm the pronunciation of all names he was announcing for the wedding party, and even double checked with us to ensure that he was calling us at a time that was convenient with our schedules. We had a vocalist sing our first dance and Gary worked with her to get the music perfect!! He had everyone up dancing all evening, and we had a very mixed crowd of ages!!! I would highly recommend Gary to anyone!!!!!

Gary Whitaker was one of the most outstanding parts of our entire wedding. We have nothing but good things to say about Gary, and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a DJ. What really set him apart was that he provided us with a catalog of top songs going back for over 50 years and asked us to select ones that we liked. This allowed him to tailor a music selection for our wedding what was truly ours. Other DJs we interviewed wanted to know "what types" or "what genres" of music we liked, but Gary got us down to specific songs and took it from there. His DJ performance was truly outstanding - everyone young and old was up dancing throughout the evening, and he served as an excellent emcee for dinner and the other events during the evening. On top of that, he had a confetti cannon included in his performance, and was able to coordinate getting us a Gobo and Uplighting as well. We would strongly urge anyone seeking a wedding or party DJ to book Gary Whitaker and rest assured they're in good hands!

I can't recommend Gary enough. He was professional, animated, flexible, approachable, and extremely easy to work with. He was very affordable, offered excellent advice, and took all of our needs and wants into consideration. He kept the energy high, and our guests were extremely receptive. I honestly have no complaints about Gary at all, book him with confidence!!!

Gary did our wedding 19 years ago and just did our Sweet 16 party for our daughter. I can only say great things about his services. He gave us a large song list to choose from and provided the kids with giveaways that they clearly enjoyed. He was quick to answer emails and phone calls and made sure every detail of the party was what we planned. We will enlist his services again and again!

Gary is a truly amazing DJ. From he beginning meeting until the end of our reception Gary was there every step of the way answering any questions we had. Gary did our ceremony music which was beautiful and just what we wanted. For the cocktail hour and dinner music Gary took some artist suggestions and cake up with the most perfect music for the ambiance we were going for.

When it came to the rest of the reception music, it was a perfect mixture of songs that got the whole place up and dancing for hours. Everyone commented on how great the DJ was! He truly made our wedding day the best that we could have ever imagined.

I highly recommend Gary for any party needs, especially weddings.

Gary was a fantastic DJ for our wedding. He responded right away and offered to come out to our house to meet with us. He was very organized and answered all of our questions. We were provided with very extensive lists of songs to choose from but he also let us provide him with a list of songs that were special to us and wanted played at the wedding. He followed up with us every once in a while to see if there was anything we needed from him and he even came out the day before the wedding to check out the venue so that he would know how and where to set up. We had an outdoor wedding on our family farm and unfortunately it ended up pouring that day. The field was muddy and on a hill and not the easiest to get to but Gary got there and was able to get his equipment there too without complaint and he made it a great time for us. Everyone commented on how good the music was and what a great time they had. Gary was great to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone planning their wedding.

Gary was hired for my daughters wedding and I recommend him to everyone! Everything was FANTASTIC! I appreciate everything he did to make the day perfect. Gary was great, he really understood who we were and what we wanted for our wedding. He was very professional, on time, well prepared and extremely reasonably priced. He was the first DJ that spoke to us like an adult. My husband and I have both previously been involved in weddings with nightmare DJ stories, but Gary put us as ease from the first time we talked to him and he proved to us that going with him, a self employed professional, was much better than going with a big entertainment company where you don’t know who is going to show up. We would highly recommend him to anyone.

Gary was amazing! He got our guests on the floor right away and the dance floor was full all night. So many people told us that our wedding was one of the best ones they have gone to and Gary helped make our party one to remember.

We had a blast!

Hiring Gary was one of the best things we could of done for our wedding. He was recommended though a friend of his my parents had met at a wedding expo. He was so helpful and flexible since we were planning our wedding from Florida and we'd get married in NY. He was so helpful with making our playlist and really listened to what we wanted. He had great party favors that everyone loved! He even helped my Husband do a surprise song for me at the wedding. Gary was amazing and really gave life to our wedding!
