We had the absolute pleasure of having DJ David Medina as our wedding DJ, and we cannot recommend him enough. From the very first Zoom meeting, we knew he was the perfect fit for our special day. David's personable and friendly demeanor immediately put us at ease, and we felt confident based on his many years and wedding experience that he would make our wedding a night to remember. One of the things we appreciated most about David was how easy he made the entire planning process. He was incredibly organized and communicative, and he took the time to understand our vision for the wedding. We provided him with a detailed list of songs that we wanted played, and he incorporated them seamlessly into his setlist. He also was great at making sure to have a Not Play List and stayed away from those as well, which was important to us. David was very flexible and accommodating, and he was always willing to make adjustments based on our preferences. David's ability to read the crowd and keep people on the dance floor was truly impressive. He had a great sense of timing and knew how to build the energy throughout the night. He played a mix of classic and contemporary hits that got everyone up and dancing, and he was always attentive to the guests' reactions. David was also great at making announcements and introductions throughout the night and did it in a very understated and classy way. We were so impressed with how much David listened to our input and tailored his performance to our specific needs. He was always open to suggestions and was willing to go the extra mile to ensure that our wedding day was perfect. From the cocktail hour music to the grand entrance, David's selections, in addition to our inputs, were spot on and helped to create a memorable experience for our guests. We always felt like we were listening to our favorite music. David's contribution to our wedding day was invaluable. He helped to set the tone for the evening and created a fun and festive atmosphere. We received countless compliments from our guests about the music, and everyone had a fantastic time. David was more than just a DJ; he was a valuable member of our wedding team. We are so grateful for his professionalism, talent, and dedication. Everyone at our venue, The Wythe Hotel, absolutely loves working with him time and time again. If you're looking for a DJ who will make your wedding day unforgettable, we could not recommend DJ David Medina enough!! Look no further!!!
We cannot recommend DJ Medina enough! From the very beginning, he paid attention to every single detail and made us feel completely confident that our wedding music was in great hands. He responded to emails promptly, answered all of our questions, and offered excellent suggestions that truly elevated our celebration.
Music was one of my biggest concerns because my husband and I come from different cultural backgrounds. It was so important to us that both families felt included and had a fantastic time on the dance floor. DJ Medina absolutely delivered! He seamlessly blended everything, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed all night long.
So many of our guests raved about how wonderful the wedding was, and the music played a massive role in that. One of our guests even told us the doorman at our venue said, “Oh, you guys held it down last night!” That says it all!
We are beyond pleased with everything and would without hesitation choose DJ Medina again for future celebrations. Thank you for making our night unforgettable! -

The Ideal Bilingual DJ
David was extremely nice and helpful throughout the entire process. When we were overwhelmed and behind schedule in planning he was patient and helped us get organized. During the actual wedding, he handled the setup without any issues and during the reception he communicated clearly to everyone and absolutely knocked the Hora Loca out of the park. He made the entire process feel easy. He broke down what he needed from us step by step. The dance floor was packed all night long, and our friends and family are still talking about how amazing the music and dancing were. He struck the perfect balance of reading the room while honoring our preferences, and it truly felt like he captured our vision.

We truly cannot say enough amazing things about David. From the very beginning, he took the time to meet with us, get to know us as a couple, and really understand our vision and our guests. That alone set him apart.
We had a beautifully mixed crowd — Italian, Irish, and Haitian — and finding a DJ who could seamlessly balance the music for everyone was one of our biggest concerns. David didn’t just meet the challenge… he absolutely outdid himself.
The dance floor was packed all night, and we had guest after guest coming up to us saying, “The DJ understood the assignment.” He read the room perfectly, honored every culture, and created an incredible vibe that made our wedding unforgettable.

So initially, we were sifting through three djs. David was the second of three we contacted, and also the last one. we never bothered to follow through with the third screening. David was that person "you found what you want so look no further." His entire personality was very calming, but can also get you excited when needed. Talk about accommodating! As I work overseas and was always on the road, we did so much rescheduling, or "let's push the meeting back an hour." At no time did we ever felt like we were an inconvenience to David. That's the kind of person you want to work with. A very thorough information sheet is usually given, that we didn't fully complete.. We just had to think of few songs we like and David brought everything else together in total harmony. It was like he knew us his entire life. Our guests are still asking us how the dj played all the songs that everyone loved - all I could say is " David is not a dj, he's a magician." Average age at our wedding was in the 50s, and boy did we need ice packs and joint relief creams the following days as we never left the dance floor. Thank you so much , David, for keeping our wedding alive. We did right by choosing you. We highly recommend David for your wedding. -

We had DJ David Medina for our wedding, and he was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, he kept the energy perfect and knew exactly what to play to keep everyone on the dance floor. He went above and beyond, even helped create a special mixtape for my wife’s father-daughter dance, which made the moment unforgettable.
David did a great job translating everything seamlessly between English and Spanish so all of our guests felt included. The entire night had such a great vibe thanks to him. He was on point with every moment, including the garter removal, where he surprised everyone by coming out with a Spider-Man mask! It was hilarious and perfectly timed.
We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ, professional, fun, and really in tune with the crowd. Highly recommend DJ David Medina for any wedding or event! -

DJ Medina was a huge part of why our wedding night was one of the best nights of our lives!
DJ Medina was very easy to work with from the beginning of the planning process, and really took the time to learn about us and what kind of music we liked and what kind of people we are. He asked questions about our families and friends who will be at the wedding to ensure that he had the best music to play for the occasion. We had multiple meetings throughout the planning process and we were always so happy at how patient, kind, and excited DJ Medina seemed about the occasion.
During the reception he also did an excellent job of MCing by keeping things simple and flowing. Our wedding was a Guyanese/Brazilian/American wedding, so needless to say we thought this would be a tall task as there are many types of music needed, but DJ Medina effortlessly mixed in all types of music on the wedding day to keep everyone on the dance floor for the entire night! We had multiple people mention that this was the most fun wedding that they had been to, and a huge part of that was because of the music.
He also was incredibly accommodating by arriving early to play music for our ceremony and cocktail hour, while also staying late to DJ for our after party which we greatly appreciated!
We were incredibly happy with our decision to work with DJ Medina for our wedding and he was absolutely the best choice for the occasion. We highly recommend David to anyone needing DJ services as he's truly the best out there! -

David Medina was by far the best DJ we could have chosen for our wedding. From our very first Zoom meeting, we instantly knew we didn’t need to look any further — his warmth, professionalism, and confidence immediately put us at ease. In fact, we didn’t even interview anyone else!
On the day of our wedding, David was more than just a DJ — he was the perfect emcee. He kept the flow of the evening seamless, pronounced every single name correctly (which is such an underrated but HUGE win), and brought so much positive energy to every moment. He also nailed the timing of our special dances — from our first dance, to the mother/son dances, and every other big moment — ensuring each one felt natural, unhurried, and perfectly placed in the evening.
He played all the songs we loved, read the room perfectly, and kept the dance floor full from start to finish. David has this incredible ability to make an event feel both polished and personal. He knew exactly when to hype up the crowd, when to give us space for our special moments, and how to keep the energy high without overshadowing the reason we were all there. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had — and a huge part of that is because of him.
One quick tip for future couples: David’s planning questionnaire includes a “must play” song section — make sure you check those boxes! We missed a few songs we had in mind simply because we didn’t mark them, but that was completely on us (lesson learned!). Even so, David absolutely nailed the vibe and made the night unforgettable.

We went to a wedding with DJ Medina a few years ago and were so impressed by how he stormed the dance floor. It was such a fun night! Three years later, I still hadn’t forgotten him and reached out to see if he was available for our wedding. I was thrilled to hear he was!
He was incredibly easy to work with, thoughtful, communicative, and full of great questions to ensure the night reflected our style. We had originally wanted a band, too, but due to space limitations, we went with just DJ Medina, and we didn’t miss having a band for a second. He brought incredible energy and kept the dance floor packed all night.
We also had a saxophone player join him for about an hour, and it was an absolute hit. What a fun, dynamic combo. DJ Medina created a joyful, unforgettable atmosphere. We were over the moon, and so were our guests! -

David was an absolute pleasure to work with right throughout the process! From the outset, David was authentic and genuine in getting to know us - individually, and as a couple. He took the time to understand what we were looking for, and for any request we had, while also using his deep experience to shape the entertainment to something that both reflected us, but also engaged everyone that was there.
We asked him on reasonably short notice to play with two hybrid musicians, and this was no problem at all - David guided us each step of the way, and we felt like we had one less thing to worry about. David was also super responsive on the evening to any requests that we had.

There are so many wonderful things I can say about David. My husband is a musician and is very particular about music. When my wife and I were searching for a wedding DJ for our big day, we had a lot of different options to wade through, especially living in New York City where there were plenty of DJ's advertising their skills. Trying to find a perfect fit for our imagined wedding day definitely wasn't easy but we knew we found a diamond when we first talked with David. We had a specific type of wedding dance floor vibes that we were looking for, but beyond a couple buzz words didn't know how to describe it. David did, and perfectly helped us hone our intended dance floor vibes. We thought we knew the general things a DJ would help us with, but David showed us different areas he could help facilitate the day.
With strong communication skills, professional demeanor, and wealth of experience we decided to go with David and haven't regretted it a moment since. Not only did we have an amazing ceremony and reception (all sound services staffed by David), but every single one of our guests we spoke to reported having an awesome time (which we largely attribute to David's skills at reading the room and playing the music that would keep people dancing). David was our DJ for our wedding at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn. We immediately clicked with David from our very first call. We loved his energy and his kindness, and it was clear he was very experienced. David has a super calm demeanor and he's so easy to talk to; although we'd spoken to multiple DJs, we actually knew right away that we wanted to work with David after our first call with him. It also helped that he had worked at our venue many times before, so he knew the drill. He was always very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly and clearly. He was very thoughtful and enthusiastic in learning about us as a couple, and he did a great job of not only playing our music, but also serving as an emcee. We had a lot of emcee instructions (including a marriage license signing, wedding games, and intros for eight speeches!) and he followed them all to a tee. He got all of the pronunciations right for our speakers, and he remained engaged throughout the entire night. We also had an electric violinist and he helped hook him up to the system; we didn't have any issues all night. He played many of the songs that we'd included in our list for him — including '80s songs that some of the older guests enjoyed, and songs like "Wagon Wheel" that appealed to our Southern families. The only thing we'd recommend to couples is be very specific about any types of songs you don't want to be played (not just specific songs or artists, but vibes or topics). We'd mentioned during our first call that we didn't want any raunchy songs since it'd be awkward for our families, but we failed to mention that during our final call with David (our fault), so we ended up having to dance to "Sexyback" and "It's Getting Hot in Here" in front of our parents lol. It wasn't a big deal, but just something to keep in mind! Overall, we highly recommend David and think he is an excellent DJ and emcee. -

My wife and I came across DJ Medina via “The Knot” and we are incredibly grateful that we did. For those reading this – I’m sure you will feel the same that trying to find the right DJ is tough because it’s essentially gambling that the DJ will know how to mix and has the experience. If I can do anything for you – please place your trust in this man.
He is incredibly easy and flexible in his work. We met DJ Medina on zoom for the initial review and it’s hard to explain; but my wife and I were comfortable and put to ease. We come from different backgrounds and wanted to incorporate the differences our music culture and overall preferences; which he fully understood.
One of the things that was helpful for us is that he provided a template. The template for any of you Type A individuals was a guiding tool for us to put any and all of our song preferences for the wedding (The must plays vs the absolutely do not play). It also helped us identify areas where music needed to be played that we quite honestly forgot about (ie. The song to play right when the ceremony ends).
On the day of the wedding – DJ Medina was super punctual and ready with all of his equipment. NOW – this is a major plus to any readers. He has his own equipment; so you ultimately save on rentals. Just make sure you have an outlet and a food plate. It’s not required, but it’s very proper to feed your event team.
Another major highlight – DJ Medina helped us with putting our wedding song together. My wife is European and I’m Spanish; so our first dance song was intricate. DJ Medina was able to piece it together to make sense; which ultimately helped our dancing instructor choreograph the steps even easier since we knew the timing. PRO TIP – provide this idea early on as we did this late in the game, but DJ Medina was again flexible and expedient with getting us our piece.
Last pro tip – give DJ Medina creative rights. What do you mean? Earlier above – I mentioned the template for music preferences. One of the scary things (for me at least) is asking myself – will my guest like the music I picked? I like Daft punk and rock music, but I wouldn’t want my guests dancing to Slayer. What you want to focus on is enjoying your day with your partner; while you leave the music to the DJ. DJ Medina did an incredible job with reading the room and keeping the flowing of the dancing going.
I can go on and on, but I strongly suggest choosing this man as your DJ. I hope this post put your nerves at ease. OH – one of the most important things – he is also very affordable!!

Simply Good Times
We worked with DJ Medina for our August 2023 wedding ceremony in Brooklyn. It was beyond fantastic!
From initial meeting to night of, David was personable, accessible, really focused on understanding our needs and wants, and delightful. We had a significant mix of musical needs/styles that we wanted at our event due to our Trinidad, Jamaica, Southern US, West Coast, and NY attendees. Plus, as the bride, I am a HUGE fan of dancing for hours, as are most of my undergrad and grad crews, so downtime on the dance floor was not an option. DJ Medina helped achieve that goal.
He also did a great job in helping us keep the evening flowing with the schedule laid out, without coming across as pushy or invasive. Very good balancing skills.
My husband and I had a blast, our guests had so much fun, and I was beyond thrilled with the night. I would definitely recommend David Medina. We thank him for being a key part of our night's success. -

DJ Medina is very professional, knowledgeable of different cultures and provides guidance to couples like ourselves that were planning our own wedding.
From the beginning, DJ Medina was thorough yet easy going in terms of his interactions with us, making sure we had everything covered (speeches, dances, songs, announcements). He made us feel extremely at ease - we were in the right hands.
While we picked the majority of the songs, he made sure to sequence them and add some songs here and there based on our needs wherever we had gaps. His experience working with multiple cultures (e.g., Latino, Indian, and European, as select examples) meant that he knew all of the "hits" that would make people dance, and all of the "classics" of all the cultures at our wedding, that made all generations attending feel included.
We asked DJ Medina to cover the cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party (our ceremony was at a Church). We had a blast at the wedding reception and received so many compliments throughout the night because of the atmosphere he helped create.

When we secured our venue The Box House Hotel, David Medina was consistently recommended as a DJ for our event. We set up an introductory phone call and found out that he has a lot of experience there, knows the staff, is familiar with the layout, and is experienced with the equipment and weddings in general. The biggest things that stood out to us during our call was his professionalism and wide range of familiarity with different music genres and artists. He was also super nice, patient, and understanding of our musical preferences and the vibe we wanted to create for our event. After the call, we felt confident that he was the one for us. We went on to fill out a document of songs/artists to play and not play, and then had another call near the event date to discuss our plan for our ceremony, entrance, and first dance. My husband and I met at a 3-day wedding celebration dancing through the streets of New Orleans. He’s from Bensonhurst (the streets where Travolta struts in Saturday Night Fever), my Cuban-Italian family hails from Miami. Needless to say, the music at our Brooklyn waterfront wedding had to be DANCE CENTRIC from start to finish. But no hokey New Jersey Sweet 16 playlists featuring Journey piano send-off’s or “Tonight’s gonna be a good night…” And no music too hardcore or niche to give any of our multi-generational guests a reason to take a boogey break unless they HAD to. Ya know, we all gotta eat. We interviewed many DJ’s. Elite Miami club staples, highly-recommendedNYC celebration experts. All lovely. But none of them, not one, compared to DJDave Medina. We’re thrilled to tell you why: From the jump, DJ Dave was warm and welcoming. In our initial phone interview and every time we spoke leading up to our big day, you could tell he was invested in our guests having the musical experience we envisioned: a dance party to remember. He listened to us unpack our musical tastes, approximated all the genres we were open to, parsed out our do-not-plays (bye,Journey), and offered us the most reasonable quote we’d come across. Dave’s a family man, a Brooklynite himself; it was clear he wasn’t trying to gouge us.He’s also Dominican-American and ran a Cuban salsa show years back (bring it back, Dave!), so he understood the cultural importance of weaving in different kinds of Latin music to pay homage to our respective heritages. He didn’t bat an eye when we asked about additional live percussion to amp up the island feel, and offered his incredible percussionist Nestor at, again, a SUPER reasonable price. We didn’t want a ton of needless introductions or MC-ing to the nines; Dave totally understood why. Anything to strip down an all-too cookie cutter event to its purest joy—getting everyone, young and old, shakin their tail feathers. We also had a crazy idea to dance from our waterfront park wedding to the hotel reception celebration, much like a New Orleans second line. Dave made our dreams come true, and Nestor drummed us and our guests from our I Do’s straight into a beautiful, bumpin cocktail hour that everyone is STILL talking about. They say your wedding day will be a blur. Truly, it was. But the most memorable part of that blur, the part we hold on to to this day and that others continue to echo is what a gorgeous ride our musical experience was. One hot feel-good jam after another, over and over, all reception long. Early 90's hip hop, oldies, funk, soul, disco, the good stuff. Thanks to Dave, our parents’ LONG musical father-daughter and mother/son dance selections were finessed to a socially-acceptable clip. Every announcement was energetic, warm and real. Every shift in genre and mood was expertly handled. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect night of get-down. Oh and Nestor? Played alongside Dave till they finally popped the lights on. It was a dream start to finish. One more anecdote if you’re not already sold on DJ Dave: Days before our wedding our reception venue called to inform us an inter-borough bike tour was making it’s way in front of our venue the morning of our wedding, potentially stalling all of our vendors’ set-ups. Everyone rolled with it the best they could, but the vendor who put us the most at ease was Dave. He offered to come THE NIGHT BEFORE AND DIDN’T CHARGE US FOR THE ADDITIONAL TIME. A champion, a gentleman, and honestly, the only DJ we’ll ever hire in NYC. Hire him, hire him, HIRE HIM. You’re signing on for pure magic, and true soul. -

His calm and collected nature paired with his upbeat attitude and genuine love for music made him our perfect person to work with.
