More energy than a Beyoncé concert!!!!!

My husband and I could not be more thrilled that we chose DJ Chris as our wedding music vendor. I wish anyone reading this review could have been a fly on the wall for our dance floor - the energy was off the charts and the guests did not want to leave the dance floor because of Chris’s amazing mixing and music choices!! He was extremely organized with his planning in the months leading before the wedding and found a way to hit all of our music tastes - from the oldies to EDM to hip hop - he can do it all! Chris also surprised us with an incredible video screen booth that featured photos of my husband and I and a quote from our first dance song. Chris literally thinks of it all!!! I cannot recommend him enough, we are so grateful he made our reception be even more amazing than we ever imagined!!!!!

Chris was the best! He was so personable, and made everything so easy! The up lighting package was awesome! The music was awesome! He listened to everything and helped us out so much considering we had little knowledge of what we were doing! He's easy going, and so much fun! We loved him right away and would recommend him in a heartbeat! We hope to use him again in the future for other events since he did such an amazing job at our wedding!

Chris Johnston of Love of Music was amazing to work with from the initial contact all the way through our last song of the night. He came highly recommended to us and we couldn't be happier with his work - we, along with all of our guests, had an amazing night out on the dance floor. With Chris, you get the best of both worlds with a DJ who gets through the wedding formalities effortlessly and keeps the dance floor going once the party starts!

From working with us on music selections to walking us through our ceremony and reception timelines and a custom New Year's Eve countdown, Chris/Love of Music made our wedding day a truly enjoyable experience. The most heard comment at our day after wedding brunch was that our guests had sore feet...a true testament to the awesome work of Love of Music! We would highly recommend Love of Music to anyone looking to work with a professional, fun DJ who knows how to read the crowd and keep things moving.

An absolute must have!

Love of Music is a must have at your events. Chris is great to work with and will curate the event of your dreams, as he absolutely did so with our wedding. Although our wedding was subject to the COVID dance restrictions, he did a great job making sure our guests were singing along and having a great time all night long. Plus, his firework fountains made for some of our favorite pictures of the night! A great individual and a great professional, book him!

Chris was one of the best DJ's we've experienced at any wedding. He was very thorough from planning to the day of the wedding. His organization kept the party flowing and his excellent music choices kept the dance floor packed the entire night long. I would strongly recommend him to anyone!

Chris was amazing to work with from beginning to end! From the first time we talked I knew I wanted him to be our DJ. Chris is professional, fun, high energy, and totally down to earth. Chris came highly recommended by a friend who had used his services for her wedding. She raved about his professionalism, his timely responses, and his great ability to MC a great party! I must say, Chris did not disappoint. We are so glad that Chris was part of our day. We were not local to the Albany/Troy area, so it was important to work with professionals who were flexible with meeting times. From the moment we met Chris it was clear that he was who we wanted to work with. I can not even express how wonderful he was in communicating with us in a timely fashion. The website we used to manage our music was very user friendly and Chris was always there to answer questions or to make recommendations. He communicated with us throughout the wedding planning process. On the day of our wedding, we didn't have to worry about a thing! A dream come true

DJ Chris made our night perfect! He was easy to work with from the very moment we booked him and always responsive to questions and concerns. He kept the party going all night! From the beginning of the wedding planning process Chris was amazing in implementing our vision for our wedding. He is extremely easy to work with and genuinely wants everyone to have a great time. Planning meetings were easy to coordinate and we never had to question the order of events for the night; he was great about choosing music that would fit our wedding crowd in order to keep everyone on the dance floor throughout the night. Our crowd danced longer than expected and he stayed until the last person stopped dancing! Everyone had a blast and the uplighting looked exactly as requested. Cannot say enough good things- would definitely book again!

My husband and I booked Love of Music for our wedding last August, and we were thrilled with everything from start to finish. Everyone we spoke to was professional, kind, helpful, enthusiastic, and genuine from the start. I really appreciated how detail oriented they were - reviewing pronunciation with us for names they would be announcing, etc. They also did a great job leading us through the night step-by-step, which was greatly appreciated.

We got compliments on the music the whole night - DJ Kevin definitely kept people out on the dance floor and read the room perfectly. My husband and I, and especially our guests, had an AMAZING time dancing!! He knew what was needed to keep people up and moving, and created an amazing party!

Thank you to everyone for your hard work! We highly recommend hiring Love of Music!!

Chris was the most amazing DJ ever. He had the whole wedding on the dance floor at all times . He listened to all our requests and really made us feel special. We had everyone asking for his name and wanting to book him . My uncle who is a big music guy was very impressed as were we and everyone else . The Best Wedding DJ You'll Find!

Chris was our wedding DJ at Brown’s Revolution Hall and absolutely nailed it (by far the best choice we made for our wedding)! We had a couple of unique songs and events we wanted included in our day, and he sat down with us to help plan everything out. He was reassuring, professional, and his expertise was invaluable! Entertainment at our wedding was perfect. Everything flowed perfectly and he was a huge help in planning the day of logistics and order of each ceremonial event! He also kept the party going all night!

I cannot say enough nice things about Chris and working with him. He was so easy to get along with and immediately understood my musical taste and the vibe I wanted at our wedding. Not only for the reception/dancing portion but for cocktail hour and dinner music as well. My husband and I are music lovers and our taste is all over the map. From our very first meeting with Chris, my husband and I knew we had found the perfect DJ for our wedding! His personality is what originally had us hooked! We loved that Chris was so easy to talk to. It made us feel like we had hired a very good friend! Incredible DJ! Thanks Chris!

Chris was a fantastic DJ! He kept our dance floor filled all night with great music that kept pulling people in! Not only was the party great, but he helped guide everyone through whole event from the ceremony to cocktail hour to our sparkler send off at the end of the night. The night flowed so well thanks to Chris and his team! Our friends enjoyed it so much they tried to book Chris that night for their upcoming wedding!

Amazing time!

We went with DJ Karl for our wedding and we can say 100% from the bottom of our hearts that Karl was beyond what we imagined for our day. The energy and personality he brings is one of a kind, I couldn’t imagine it with anyone else. Everyone in attendance said that the originality he brought was notable and the energy was one for the ages. I know that the expectations of weddings can be quite high and still Karl was well above what we envisioned. His ability to adapt and play off the audience was remarkable. He has the best personality in every way, he puts everyone at ease. We can’t say enough great things about him !

Chris was recommended to us by one of our bridesmaids (when we first got engaged) and boy am I so glad she introduced us! I knew he would be the PERFECT dj for our wedding from the moment we first spoke on the phone, about a year ago. My husband and I were married this past weekend, on 7/14/18, and our legs are STILL sore from all of the dancing (4 days later)! Throughout the entire planning process Chris was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, honest and readily available. I often would e-mail Chris after work and only minutes later he was calling me… if that isn’t stellar communication then I don’t know what is!
Chris not only met our expectations, he EXCEEDED them and helped us to throw an epic party!! Throughout the planning process Chris was upfront and helped guide us through every decision to make sure our day would be perfect! On the day of our wedding Chris’s attention to detail was superlative, he stuck to the schedule and was flexible by allowing the guests to also guide the evening. This was apparent when the dinner music was so good that our guests filled up the dance floor before their plates could be cleared, which led to us moving back our cake cutting. The cake cutting, which was supposed to be in front of everyone, ended up being done in private because our guests were too busy dancing THE WHOLE NIGHT to be interrupted (this was suggested by Chris and our coordinator but ultimately left up to us). Chris was able to get our least expected guests out of their seats and onto the dance floor! We had the dancefloor packed for 4 straight hours, which is exactly what my husband and I asked for! I cannot say enough amazing things about Chris and his services! Chris and his team are not your average wedding entertainment… they are so much more!! We look forward to recommending Love of Music to everyone we know!

We just had a wedding at The Inn at Erlowest in Lake George. Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with. Being from NYC and constantly seeing DJs play and going to concerts...I guess you could say music is a big part of my life. I was terrified I was going to get horrible wedding music, but Chris proved me wrong. He listened to all my requests and created a playlist that perfectly matched my taste while still making my guests of all ages happy. All the guests commented on how amazing the DJ was. He even went the extra mile and video taped two songs my friends and family danced too. He was in constant communication with me both by email and phone which was so important for me since this was a destination wedding. He was the only vendor that made me feel at ease. If you are having any event in this area...this is your go to DJ. Thank you Chris!

Chris is a fabulous DJ! He made sure the bride/groom & our guests had a night to remember. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire evening. HIGHLY recommend, you will not regret it!

Chris was absolutely incredible!!! My husband and I got married in June and we can confidently say our wedding would not have been the same without Chris as our DJ. Throughout the entire process, Chris was super easy to work with, extremely professional and responsive, and made sure our vision for the night was brought to life. His talent is unmatched, and he was also able to customize our father/daughter and mother/son songs. Our top priority was to make sure the dance floor was packed all night, and Chris did just that! We are still getting messages from our guests saying how they have never seen a dance floor so packed, all night long. He did an awesome job of mixing different genres so all of our guests could enjoy. Chris went above and beyond and even checked in with myself and my husband throughout the night to make sure we were having fun, see if we needed anything, etc. We cannot thank Chris enough for making our wedding the best night ever! DJ Chris was absolutely amazing at our Hall of Springs wedding 9/25/21! We had postponed during the pandemic but he continued to keep in touch and ensure us our wedding would be awesome. The day of the wedding he was amazing at keeping the flow going throughout the night and blended all different genres of music together perfectly! I would say at least 95% of our wedding party danced the entire night! It was absolutely amazing and the entire night flew by. I would highly recommend DJ Chris for anyone’s wedding!! Dj Chris is the best, I could not have hoped for more. Not only was he wonderful to work for he was so helpful whenever we had questions. The. Best. Night. Ever!

We had an absolute BLAST at our wedding! We had a total of 4 “must play” songs and left the rest up to Chris - and he definitely delivered. The dance floor was packed. Some guest comments included “Wow I really like this playlist”, “Your DJ is killing it”, “DJ Chris is the man” and “I knew your wedding would be fun but I didn’t think it would be THAT fun!” We can’t thank Chris and his assistant enough. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to dinner, to the reception - it was everything we had asked for and more. Incredible DJ Chris

I truly cannot say enough good things about DJ Chris! First, he is extremely responsive and made me very at ease during the planning process. We had many last minute changes because of covid, and DJ Chris was very adaptable and worked with us the entire way. The music was AMAZING… the dance floor was packed the entire night. I loved that transitions that Chris did to maximize the songs played. He was spot on with song selection! I had so many guests come up to me at the end saying that our DJ was great and kept the party going through the night! Chris also made the music personable and added a bonus slow song at the end that my fiancé and I wanted. A friend of mine in attendance, who is getting married soon, asked for his card because she loved the music so much. I could go on and on. Bottom line: if you are looking for a GREAT DJ to play songs to dance the night away to, Chris is your man!

Kept the dance floor rocking all night!!

Hiring a wedding DJ can be super stressful because in my opinion they can either make or break the night. Chris was absolutely amazing and I knew we had to hire him from the first call we had. Chris instantly understood the vibe we were going for from cocktail hour to the reception. He made suggestions to help with the flow of dancing and was not only professional but you can also just tell he cares about his clients and ensuring they are happy. I told him we were coming to dance and he kept the dance floor alive from the minute we started until the last song. He was also great at reading the room and changed things up if it seemed dancing was slowing down. Several people even came up to me to tell me that they loved him and he was great! We were also able to use the digital photobooth and it was a huge hit!

Chris did a wonderful job at our wedding. He was responsive and easy to work with. We had several special requests and he was able to execute them all flawlessly. His music kept the guests entertained during the dinner service and everyone on the dance floor during the later part of the evening. I would highly recommended him for any event.

The moment we booked Chris from Love of Music DJ as our wedding DJ we knew we made the right decision. He responded immediately and was so attentive throughout the entire planning process. He was there to give us guidance and performed more than what we could've wished for the day of. Beginning with the cocktail hour, to the reception from start to finish the dance floor was completely packed and we owe that all to Chris! We never stepped foot off of the dance floor and weeks later we still have guests raving about it! Chris also provided our uplighting for the reception and it was perfect. DJ Chris made our event so special. From our first phone call, we knew Chris got us. Miles and I have interesting musical tastes and Chris was able to flawlessly blend it all together. Chris made great suggestions to help the night flow smoothly and suggestions regarding music and when to play it. The dance floor was packed all night and Miles and I were so so so happy to hear all the music played. Chris also provided us with beautiful uplighting for the ceremony and reception. Chris was absolutely a breeze to work with. We had several planning discussions but didn't officially meet until our wedding day. However he completely understood our vision and played great music. All night long our guests came up to us and kept saying, "what a great DJ!"--we didn't want any cheesy line dances and we also didn't want rap that no one knows how to dance to. Chris knows what people will dance to, he creates a fun atmosphere and our dance floor was packed all night long. Thanks Chris!

Want an amazing party? Hire Chris.

I can't tell you how many people reached out to my wedding and told me it was the best party they'd been to -- and much of that can be attributed to DJ Chris! The dance floor was full from the moment dancing kicked off to the very end of the wedding. To paint a scene: My 89-year-old grandma was dancing to "Low" by Flo Rida with my friends from college who were more than a few shirt buttons deep.

We gave Chris little guidance in terms of songs, but he ran with it and had the very best playlist all evening. He was super responsive, super social, and just an all-around amazing partner for our wedding. I can't thank him enough and I encourage everyone to work with DJ Chris!

We could not have asked for a better experience with DJ Chris! From start to finish he was organized, professional, fun, and made us feel so prepared for our big day!

There isn't a single thing I can think of that Chris didn't do perfectly. He was exactly what we were looking for in a DJ: really easy to work with (especially when we lived out of state); listened to - and *remembered* - what we wanted (and didn't want!); and kept the energy high without ever being over the top, flashy or corny. He really exceeded all expectations!

We spoke with Chris over the phone and booked before we actually got a chance to meet him. I was a little hesitant about doing that, but he offered to meet for another conversation after we signed the contract and when we did all concerns vanished. He was laid back but very professional and has an impressive knowledge of music. We were interested in songs from numerous genres and Chris picked up our styles right away.

For our cocktail hour he prepared a playlist of crooners and upbeat songs from the 50s and 60s - perfect background music for our setting. The rest of the night was highlighted with our favorite rock, jazz and dance songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s - he remembered all our favorites from the conversation months prior.

From the second the traditional dances ended to the very end of the night our dance floor was PACKED. Thanks to Chris, we have amazing memories of our wedding, dancing to and belting out our favorite songs with all of our favorite people!

Christopher Johnston- Love of Music was an absolute joy to work with! From the very beginning, he was attentive to our style and really focused on what we were looking for in our reception. Chris made MULTIPLE mixes for my father/daughter dance to match exactly what we were looking for. He did all of this with such a positive and fun attitude. The night of the reception was one of the most amazing nights of our lives! Even our 91 year old grandmother was on the dance floor. Everyone commented how great our DJ was and the energy was UNREAL. I don’t think I left the dance floor once. Chris has the most positive attitude, is the sweetest guy, and really is a pleasure to work with. He is so professional and really made us feel at ease as he had EVERYTHING taken care of. He is really detailed and makes sure everything is done to your liking. I could not recommend him enough! Where do I even begin?! Chris was amazing! He was so easy to work with, professional, flexible, and kept the dance floor packed all night long! From the very beginning I knew he would be the perfect fit for our wedding day. He was detail oriented, easy to talk to, he made sure the order of our events flowed together smoothly, and his online planning system was so great and easy to use! Every generation of our family was dancing when he got the party started after dinner. Even my 85 year old grandfather (who I have NEVER seen dance at a wedding) was dancing all night long! Chris really knows how to read a crowd, and his song selections could not have been more perfect for us. Our night could not have been more perfect. I cannot recommend Chris enough - THANK YOU!

We can't thank Chris enough for making our wedding day one of the best in our lives. He was super accommodating, responsive and professional. He met with us on a couple of occasions to discuss the style of music we wanted in order to make sure it was what we wanted. He took the time to get to know us, in order to better understand our style of music. We had a few special request that he accommodated graciously. We also gave hime strict instructions not to play any choreographed dance song (ie. chicken dance, Macarena, etc.) which he did not play thank god. He also had everyone dancing the entire night, people who haven't danced in over 30 years were dancing. I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you choose Chris to be your DJ!!!! We can't express enough our appreciation and hope you decide to make him part of the time of your life!!!

I cannot say enough positive things about Chris. He was originally referred to me by his partner Vinny, and I am incredibly grateful for his suggestion. Chris gave me more than just hours of his time, which there were many. He gave me reassurance that he had everything under control. He understood exactly how important the music at our wedding was to us and went above and beyond to provide an AWESOME time!
My husband didn't meet him until the day of the wedding due to work/schedule restrictions and he was very impressed at how professional Chris was and how he guided us seamlessly through the night. After just one meeting with Chris I trusted him and his taste, he took the time to get to know exactly what I was expecting and he did not disappoint! To give a point of reference, I have a large hispanic family and my husbands family/friends are huge country fans, he was able to play music form multiple different genres and keep everybody partying! He even played longer than he was scheduled for! I would recommend him to anyone, and only wish I had more events to use him for!

There are not enough words to describe what a fantastic job Chris did for our wedding. As most, when searching for a DJ we had several concerns, will he be too over the top? too cheesy? not understand our vision? I can promise that when you hire Chris you won't have to worry about any of that. After my first phone call with Chris I knew right away he would be great. He was very good about understanding what we were looking for and customized the entire experience. Before the ceremony he helped us organize the order of events, choose our song list, and plan how our night would unfold. During the night he was in complete control, helped things run perfectly smooth, and read the crowd. LOVE DJ CHRIS! If there was ONE this we wanted from our wedding, it was for the night to be the most fun dance party of our lives… well, CHECK! And we’re not the only ones who felt that way - so many of our guests have come back to us expressing how much fun they had, from the grandparents to the teenagers and everybody in between. The way Chris mixes songs keeps everyone on the dance floor… my sore calves the next day were proof!

That in itself would have been good enough for us… but what separates Chris is the way he guides you through the night. From seamlessly maneuvering the ceremony music, to the professionalism with which he handles the crowd, to checking in with us at various points of the reception. He never once was disruptive, but always tactful in his timing. We just can’t say enough good things about our experience working with DJ Chris!

Chris was incredible to work with, very organized, professional, and courteous. Chris did an amazing job of providing a mix of music everyone would love. Our guest were dancing the whole night! At the end of the night we have a family tradition and asked him to play a specific song, which he did and then closed the night out with our college fight song! Love of Music was a huge reason why our wedding was the best day of our lives.
We researched a ton of potential wedding DJs and knew we found the right person after speaking to Chris. He made everything very easy for us. He uses a fantastic online tool that allowed us to upload our requests and preferences. This made planning pain free and allowed for us to be on the same page regarding last minute changes. Chris also did our music during the ceremony and the up-lighting. Both of these services were amazing and the guests raved about them. The lighting made the room look so amazing. His speakers are also amazing and provided very high quality sound.
I highly recommend that you speak with Chris by phone and talk to him about your event. He is down to earth and does not sell you. It was clear that he wanted to provide us a great day and that meant a lot to us both.

A Step Above Your Ordinary DJ

Our team of vendors was incredible, but it may have been Chris who got the most compliments from our guests! Though this review is long overdue, people are still letting us know what a great time they had at our reception, singling out how great they thought Chris was and how much fun they had.
Leading up to the big day, Chris meets with you several times to discuss your musical tastes and is incredible at coordinating requests from both the bride and the groom. If you have a band or song you like, Chris knows how to work it into the lineup and his knowledge and experience of how to please a crowd should not be overlooked.
At our reception, once Chris took over the mic, we were immediately at ease and his professional and affable demeanor set the right tone for the rest of the night.
He has a knack for taking the temperature of the room and easily adapts to any situation, making sure the dance floor is packed the entire time. This is not a guy who sets up a predetermined playlist and checks out, but instead, he remains engaged they entire time, mixing and matching, changing the pace and overall ensuring everyone is having a great time. No matter what your music taste or what you are looking for in a reception, we are confident Chris will be an excellent choice. Chris, thanks again for making our reception absolutely awesome.

Over and above!

We worked with Chris for our June 2019 wedding in Lake George, NY. From our first call with him, Chris, showed that he is not only a talented and experienced DJ but also a consummate professional. He went to great lengths to explain all the details of the day, and to reach out to us to make sure he was planning to take care of everything we needed (including providing a mic for our ceremony) and play exactly the music we were looking for. What set Chris apart for us was that he took the time to offer advice on so many other aspects of our day (working with musicians and other vendors, how to make sure we kept speeches and dinner moving so we could get to dancing, etc.) which we didn’t expect but made us feel at ease and like we were working with someone who truly knew his stuff.

Most importantly, he kept his promise to keep the dance floor packed all night. During and after the wedding, we had many friends and family come up to us and say how much they enjoyed our DJ, and how fun the wedding reception was.

Of all the components of our wedding, hiring Chris was one of our best decisions. We can’t recommend him enough.

We hired Chris for our wedding on 1/20 at the Inn At Erlowest and we were thrilled to work with him! The uplighting look amazing and Chris kept us informed about the events throughout the night. I got sooo many compliments on the music from everyone; people in their 20s to people in their 70s loved the music! It was so good that we were dancing in our seats during dinner because we wanted to dance so much! He had an awesome mix and played all my favorites. The older crowd was even on the dance floor dancing to old AND current music because it was that good! We are so happy we chose Chris at Love of Music for our special day!!

If you are looking to have the most happening wedding, search no further than Chris! He was nothing short of amazing! He had our dance floor packed the whole night and knew how to read the crowd. All of our guess were commenting on how awesome the selection of music was...which I left mainly up to his discretion! From our first phone conversation I felt an instant connection and felt like I had known him for years. Unlike most wedding vendors, he replied to emails and phone calls instantaneously and you never felt rushed. He even did us a huge favor and played an extra 15 minutes at the end of our reception so we could have music for our fireworks display. He even took a video of our fireworks display and surprised us with the video the next morning. Chris has a genuine love for music that comes out in every conversation you have with him, he also has a real talent for mixing and song selection along with an uncanny ability to keep a crowd going all night. But what really impressed me about Chris is that he is not only an amazing DJ but that he is also a true professional with an unparalleled level of customer service.

The first time I talked to Chris we spoke for awhile about favorite artists and tracks across a wide range of music including 90s hip hop, 80's pop and R&B from the 60s and 70s. He was enthusiastic and honest talking about what has worked well for him in his extensive experience while also listening to the vision we had for our wedding. Through a series of conversations and email he helped my wife and I refine a style and mood for each piece of our wedding and reception. The best part was he made it fun, he's a very easy going person and quite funny and found a way to take a lot of stress out of the planning and decision making process.

Chris is also creative, when we told him we wanted to recreate the dance-line from Soul Train at our reception he jumped right on it finding songs that would make it work, Chris even helped us out with a last minute wedding song remix. The day of the event, Chris had everything in hand and brought a very welcome calming presence to the ceremony and then as the party got going, he produced and amazing show that had every guest dancing for hours.

If you're going to have a fun wedding where people will occasionally dance and talk, Chris will do a great job. But if you want a reception that is also one of the greatest dance parties you've ever been to and is more fun than your family and friends have ever had at a wedding than you absolutely NEED DJ Chris Johnston.

Wonderful wedding DJ!

Chris was so wonderful to work with! Our wedding changed drastically due to Covid, but Chris was able to provide us with a full afternoon of music that really catered to the few important guests we had in attendance. Chris is really great at understanding the music you and your guests are looking to hear. If we had been able to have a full night of dancing, I know Chris would have made it an absolute blast! We definitely highly recommend Love of Music!

Ultimate Dance Party

Chris was the perfect choice as our Wedding DJ! He kept the dance floor filled all night long for the ultimate dance party. He's easy to work with and tailors the playlist to exactly the music you request. He read the crowd well and includes many styles of music to keep the different generations of guests nonstop dancing. I highly recommend Love of Music for your wedding or special event.

When it came to the choice of a DJ for our wedding my fiancé and I truly did our research. One thing I knew from being in so many weddings is that a DJ can make or break the wedding, from the cocktail hour until the end the DJ not only plays music but he MC's the night and keeps the party going. There were absolutely no flaws in my night.

Tim and I were married on New Years Eve and with the massive amount of anticipation leading up to the wedding I begged Chris to please not let me down. Most people would say I am hard to please but when it came to Chris on my wedding night he exceed all expectations.

I recommend everyone do a sit down meeting with Chris, it truly gave him a good feel for what both Tim and I liked and how were saw our night going! Chris also included a special mix for our countdown that people are still asking to have a copy of! Honestly looking back Chris was monumental in our wedding from the flow all the way to maintaining a packed dance floor! Thank you Chris- Tim and Alison

Chris, did a wonderful job following up with us in pre-wedding meetings and accommodating our out of state residency. During the reception he was very involved with getting the guests up and was respectful of our original requests and was always checking with us about any changes. He was flexible when we brought in a set of bagpipes and organized with them when they would play during the reception. i would highly recommend Love of Music for your event!

Chris is the best DJ we could have asked for! He played the best music, including all of the songs that we specifically asked to have played. We had heard about him from a family member of one of my husband's friends and we just had to have him! I actually didn't notice this during the ceremony, but apparently there was some hammering or banging going on in the venue and Chris went running to make sure that the noise stopped! I was totally unaware of any of this until after the ceremony, my husband told me he saw Chris go flying as soon as the noise started. Talk about wanting to make sure the ceremony was PERFECT! We also got compliments from family members saying that the music during cocktail hour was perfect, and one of my friends said that she could not have chosen a better list of songs to play! Thank you so much, Chris!!

Christopher was an awesome DJ! He had a great online tool to create playlists and helped make the entire day run smoothly! He was so flexible allowing us to make changes right up to the day before the wedding! So many people approached me after our wedding to tell us how awesome our DJ was, how it was the best party ever, and that his mixing skills were amazing. I couldn't agree more!!! Everyone was dancing, he accommodated all of our song requests and even helped the best man pull off a musical surprise during his speech. Chris was amazing!! He did such a great job listening to what we envisioned and keeping the dance floor packed all night! We got so many compliments on our DJ from everyone - our friends, our parents friends - and he is such a professional when it comes to handling sticky situations. He met with us prior to the wedding to get a feel for what we wanted, how we wanted to be introduced, and the vibe of the night. We were so happy we went with him - even when we weren't able to be out on the dance floor all night he kept the party going til the very end. He came recommended by a family friend and I would recommend him over and over again. Even guests in the wedding industry were asking for his card! You can't go wrong with Chris!!

We worked with DJ Karl M and he was great!! We had a nice conversation over zoom before the wedding and discussed our song choices and "vibe" that we wanted with the type of music for the reception. Karl understood what we were going for and played exactly what we wanted. He was very responsive to email. The planning form online was user friendly. He helped us understand exactly what would happen starting with introductions until the end of the night! Highly recommend. Thanks Karl!

Chris is a great DJ. He keeps the party rockin’. He feels out the crowd first then starts playing. I was on that dance floor for the whole time that music was going. We were having so much fun that the photographer had to pull us away for pictures. Chris’ planning tool online gave me the opportunity to find the songs I wanted to be played and I was able to change them up until the night before the wedding which was great!! Chris also did a fantastic job on our monogram which was rotating on the ceiling. If you want your wedding to be a hit with great music and entertainment, hire Chris. You will not regret it!!!!

Chris did an amazing job at reading the crowd and seeing what music would really make them dance. He also had an amazing sound system. We had a guest say that it was one of the only weddings they went to where there were people on the dance floor the entire night.

Chris was absolutely amazing to work with! I was planning my wedding from a distance, and Chris always responded quickly whenever I had questions. I picked him based on his personality and his experience as a club DJ, and he definitely delivered! I was already getting compliments on how great the music was during dinner. The dance floor was packed all night with people from all age groups. Chris is a true professional who knows how to keep the energy up and the party going. You can not have a wedding without Chris. I asked for one thing- for him to PACK the dance floor all night long and he did exactly that. We had a very large wedding (220 guests) and he handled it like it was nothing! The amount of compliments we’ve gotten about our music & Chris is unreal. I wanted to dance the night away at my wedding and me and everyone else did just that- even people that never leave their chairs at weddings were dancing! Chris was my must have vendor. I couldn’t have imagined my wedding without him!

Blown away! DJ Chris is the absolute best at what he does. His personality, commitment to the event, attention to detail and patience with us, far exceeded our expectations. Christopher Johnston of Love of Music sets the bar high for DJ's! From the first time we met with him, we knew right away that he was the right choice for us. Personally, he is fun and charismatic. Professionally, he is experienced, informative and helpful every step of the way. Chris provided us with all the information we needed and an idea of how our timeline would go early on and was so timely and organized with all of our planning. We did not have to worry about a thing because of him. From playing perfect music at great sound and quality from his sound system at our ceremony, to recommending songs and picking a wide range of music that everyone of all ages enjoyed at our reception - our experience with our DJ was exceptional. Absolute must have!

I first saw Chris at a wedding I attended and he had the MOST PACKED dance floor I'd ever seen at a wedding so it was a NO BRAINER that when it was my turn to hire a DJ that Chris was a MUST HAVE! From start to finish, Chris is a true PROFESSIONAL and one of a kind. You feel like you're talking to an understanding friend!!! He's seen it all and STILL makes your wedding feel completely unique and personalized to the style you want. The guy can read a room with his eyes closed!!!! We had a mix of crowds and to be completely honest, our taste in music is all over the place but somehow Chris managed to satisfy EVERYONES musical needs at our wedding. He kept the party going ALL NIGHT LONG and guests have not stopped asking us about him/his services! If you need a DJ and want a party that people will never forget- you NEED to hire Chris. My easiest wedding decision was hiring Chris.

I knew I wanted Chris as our DJ before my husband had even proposed! I had worked with Chris on many past weddings and I knew that no one else could be our DJ. Of course, he was a great MC and played great music, but he did an incredible job of reading the room and playing to the crowd. At one point my new MIL came up to me on the dance floor and proclaimed "this is the best DJ ever!". Could not recommend him enough!

Unforgettable Night

My husband and I got married in June 2021 and we are so incredibly grateful that we had Chris as our DJ for our special day. Chris made our wedding unforgettable- We danced for 4 hours straight! Our friends and family continue to tell us they have never experienced a DJ like Chris. The way he read the crowd, played the best jams, and mixed songs- Chris is the best in the business. Christopher Johnston was easy to work with. Got him as a referral. Phone calls, emails and meeting to go over the formalities couldn't have been easier. I was worried about song selections, but all guests said the DJ was amazing. I would use Christopher Johnston all over again!

I have never written an online review in my life, but I feel compelled to write one for Chris. He was simply awesome. He responded to all of our questions and concerns immediately and went so far out of his way to make our wedding special and enjoyable. He is remarkable! Chris completely tailored the music, structure and tempo of the event to our specification and he was such a joy to work with. The music he played was always perfectly suited to whatever stage of the evening we were in. He eventually got EVERYONE up on the dance floor, quite a feet for a family like mine!

Anyone contemplating a wedding in his area would be lucky to have him. It was so nice that we didn't have to deal with a company with multiple DJs. We got received such meticulous attention from Chris that it was a real pleasure to deal with. He is kind, caring, and professional. So much of the wedding industry feel so "corporate" and Chris provided us with a warm and friendly human touch coupled with outstanding service. Again, I give Chris my highest and most unequivocal recommendation. This guy is totally awesome.

From start to finish DJ Chris Johnston was perhaps the most professional and attentive vendor we had booked for our wedding. We initially booked DJ Chris based on the outstanding reviews he had received on various wedding websites. We were so impressed by what others had thought of his services that we booked him immediately after an initial phone consultation (we did not actually meet him prior to the wedding.) Chris was funny, had a great sense of humor and after speaking with him he knew exactly the type of music we had wanted for our wedding.

In the months leading up to our wedding if we ever had a question for DJ Chris he would respond in a freakishly short period of time in a manner that was respectful and professional. There was never a dumb question for DJ Chris and this is when we truly started to feel comfortable that we were in good hands.

As for the wedding itself, we had roughly 75 people at our reception and there was never a shortage of people dancing. DJ Chris kept his word and kept the dance floor bumping the whole night. After having gone through it, I understand the stress there is when it comes to planning a wedding but let me by clear that booking DJ Chris will most likely be the easiest choice you will have to make.

DJ Karl - Wedding 9/14/19

Booking Love of Music was one of the best wedding-decisions we made. We went with DJ Karl, who was fantastic to work with leading up to the wedding; super responsive by email or text whenever we had questions, accommodating in having Group FaceTime meetings to plan out our day, and generous in giving advice based upon his wealth of experience.

Our wedding was not the norm in that we not only had DJ Karl as our MC and entertainment for the dance party part of the night, but also a band that we love for cocktail hour and dinner. Karl was able to interact with this band seamlessly and really made our vision for the night come to life perfectly.

Once the dancing started, it didn’t stop, and Karl lived up to billing as Love of Music specializes in keeping people (even a group as eclectic as our wedding guests) on the dance floor all night. Cross your fingers that they have your date available and give Love of Music a call!

Chris was excellent, and I highly recommend him. He was so organized, and his forms helped us in planning not just the reception, but the entire ceremony as well. We felt completely confident and comfortable that things would him would go seamlessly, and as expected, they did. He always promptly responded, offered several suggestions and ideas, played all the songs we requested, and was a lot of fun to work with!!

Love of Music/Chris Johnston was AMAZING! Seriously, if you are looking for a DJ for your capital/Saratoga region wedding you should choose him. In the planning stages he asked us pointed questions and had an easy-to-use website for us to fill out our ceremony and reception details. He provided great advice on how to structure the evening and what songs/types of music would keep the crowd moving. Our package included the ceremony, reception and uplighting (looked beautiful). At the event he was beyond professional and the night flowed seamlessly. And the dance floor...it was packed the entire night! There was never a quiet moment - Chris kept the energy high all night long. No one wanted to leave! We could have easily stayed for hours more to keep the party rocking (a good tip if you are considering our venue, the Canfield Casino). We love Chris!

Honestly, it doesn’t get better than him! He was AMAZING and the dance floor was completely packed the entire night. We had SO many guests asking about him and saying that he was the best DJ they’ve ever heard. He was very helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process and even kept checking in with us on the day of the wedding. If you are looking to party and dance all night long… hire him!!!... you won’t regret it!

Chris is by far the best DJ! I have been to many weddings were DJs played awful music or tried to be game show hosts or "the entertainment" and thank god Chris did neither of these. He is professional, caring, and prompt. Chris worked with us before the wedding to select music that would reflect our tastes as a couple and keep our diverse guests in both age and culture moving on the dance floor... and let me tell you literally all 80 guests were on the dance floor all night, even my 90 year old aunt! Chris was such an integral part in the success of our wedding. He went above and beyond what normal DJs do including helping my husband and I deal with a major timing issue during our wedding by offering suggestions as to what we could do to resolve it. We took his advice and it worked! He really is creative and adaptive which puts him above other DJs... and the fact that he is so caring and sincere! Even my mom and dad won't stop talking about him.
