DJ Brian Hood is the best- I didn't leave the dance floor once!

We couldn't have asked for a better DJ on our wedding day!! I didn't leave the dance floor once during the reception- it was so much fun!! Brian did a great job at creating an exciting atmosphere- we were all singing, dancing, and having the time of our lives! Everything was absolutely perfect- I can't thank Brian enough for helping to make our wedding day spectacular and fun for everyone! Even the guests who don't like dancing were out on the dance floor and having a blast! Wonderful music all around and a fantastic person! If you are seeking DJ services, look no further- you will not be disappointed with Brian Hood! :)

20/10 recommend!

Brian was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding celebration, if not the ABSOLUTE BEST decision. He is amazing at what he does! We couldn't have asked for a better night. Our guest were so impressed and kept commenting on the playlist and Brian's work. But as much as we helped put together a list of favorites, Brian put his own spin on the music, knew how to read the crowd, and his transitions were perfection. Dancing the night away with our family and friends is something we'll cherish forever thanks to Brian!

Brian is the BEST!

I can't say enough good things about Brian - he is a FANTASTIC DJ. He nailed all of our specific requests for our wedding day, and he kept the guests on the dance floor all night. He definitely read the room of the style the group would want to hear, and his transitions in between songs were so good. We got a ton of compliments that it was one of the best weddings our guests had ever attended, I think in huge part to how good of a DJ he was. Leading up to our day I was most worried about people dancing through the night, so I couldn't be more happy with how working with Brian turned out - we would do it all over again!

WOW Couldn't be better

A good DJ was so important to my husband and I while planning our wedding, and we got everything we wanted with Brian! With COVID we had many unplanned changes to our venue, dance floor size, all of it, and he was flexible and helpful with everything. He was so easy to work with for song requests, made perfect announcements that were clear for our guests, and just handled everything really well. We had people on the dance floor before we even finished taking our couples pictures! Brian was great about playing a variety of songs for all ages and preferences that we had there-we've gotten sooooo many compliments on this part alone. Thanks for being a big part of our perfect day!

Best DJ ever!

Brian was the best DJ we could have asked for! He was extremely responsive leading up to wedding day and so personable and fun on wedding day! All our guests loved him and his music cueing was perfect. He kept the dance floor hot all night which was amazing! Thanks for everything, Brian — it was truly the best night ever!

Hire Brian ASAP!

Brian is amazing - you won't be disappointed! He was super helpful and answered all our questions. We made a trip to Wilmington for our food tasting and met him for brunch. He answered our questions and even let my parents take a peek inside our venue. Our wedding plans changed several times due to COVID and Brian was flexible and helpful. You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful DJ!

Brian was wonderful to work with leading up to our wedding -- very laid back and flexible, and he did an awesome job with our reception music. Our dance floor was a huge hit!! Zero complaints at all about him! He came highly recommended, and I understand why! Do not hesitate to book him for any DJ needs you might have!!

Best Wedding DJ

DJ Brian Hood did the sound for our ceremony and the reception - and he did an amazing job. From the first phone call we had with Brian he was easy to get in touch with, kind and accommodating. Brian is very easy going and flexible in when to get him music for your wedding as that was something at the end we were having trouble deciding on, we sent him our final music list the week of our wedding. He was also very helpful and sent us suggested song lists for some of the things we were unsure of and it helped us narrow down our choices, which is very helpful in the last week or so of wedding planning, the less choices and decisions the better! Our wedding was SO fun and Brian was such a big part of that. Our friends and family raved about how incredible the vibe was at our wedding and how much fun they had and Brian was huge part of that. He definitely did a great job of reading the crowd and keeping the party going. Our crowd had to be told to leave because the party could have kept going all night long! We had such an amazing and fun wedding day and we have to thank DJ Brian for being such a large contributor to that!!

Absolutely wonderful!

Responsive, helpful, and kept EVERYONE dancing!!!

Brian was a true professional. He has obviously done many weddings before and was very organized and helpful not only in the planning but day of! We sent him a handful of songs we wanted and he used that to make a full playlist. There wasn't one song that I didn't like or any moments when the dance floor was empty!

For the planning, he went through the whole wedding timeline and discussed how we'd like the music to be. He also had lots of recommendations for particular songs (intro/exit/welcome) and for how to set the mood.

The biggest complement I received was from a music snob friend who told me they would be making a full playlist for their wedding asking me later in the night for his contact to use him!

Highly recommend!

Brian was everything we could have asked for and more! He showed up early the morning of our wedding and was set up and ready to roll. I gave him a list of song requests from friends and family and he played every single one. Not one song off our do not play list was played. He was able to read the room and picked songs based on the vibes he was getting. It was just the best night we could have imagined and he did an amazing job with every aspect of it. He is affordable and comes highly recommended!

Fun and easy to work with

Brian did a wonderful job DJing our wedding. He made everything I wanted come true. He was very entertaining and was also a great MC to our reception. He had great ideas for games that I wanted to incorporate. He even came to my ceremony rehearsal to ensure he got my entry song timed correctly for when I walked in. It was great working with him.

Highly Recommended!

We met Brian while he was actually setting up for someone else’s wedding! Our event manager was going over various vendors and when we said we needed a DJ, Brian came right to her mind. She introduced us and we were so glad to meet him! He set up and appointment for us to chat in person and start setting up details. He was an excellent communicator and kept in touch via email as the whole planning process went on. The day of, Brian made sure to touch base with us as our timeline progressed to make sure he was playing what we wanted & when we wanted it. He made everything go so smoothly and executed our timeline perfectly! He even helped me and my dad with a surprise song change for our father/daughter dance. As the night went on, I could tell he made sure we were all enjoying the music choices and wanted to see us having fun. Brian is a spectacular guy; we are so grateful he was a part of our special day!

The dancefloor was NEVER empty

There are not enough adjectives to describe just how AMAZING Brian is! I feel so lucky and grateful to have had him as our DJ! Brian knows how to transition the crowd- which was something I was worried about, having our ceremony outside, dinner inside, then outside again for the dancing. He took the time to meet with my husband and I twice before the wedding! The first time he gave us great tips and a list of things to consider when picking out songs. Other than the first dance songs, we told him we wanted 90's, 2000's and Today's hits, but ultimately gave him the freedom to read the crowd and play what he thought would keep the party going. He did just that!

He was very attentive to everyone and the small details of the night. From re-looping and timing the song I walked down the isle to- to noticing my husband's "look" when he was ready to end the mother/ son dance; he noticed it all. He took reasonable request from our guests and played all of our favorite songs!

We are very grateful for everything Brian did!

Our guests said it was a top 5 best wedding!

Our guests couldn’t express enough how much fun they had and how great our DJ was! Brian was awesome! He knew exactly what to do and how to keep the party going. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding. He was there for our beach ceremony in high winds and indoor reception. I would absolutely recommend Brian for your wedding!

Life of the party!

AMAZING! Everything you could want in a DJ. Personable, timely, responsive, reasonable fees, professional, and the life of the party! He provided seamless entertainment and music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner which entailed a beach setup and both an indoor and outdoor setup at the reception venue. He gauged the crowd perfectly, avoided your typical cheesy wedding music (though said he would play it per request of the bride & groom), and had the dance floor going up until last call because the music was too good to leave! Would highly recommend!!

Great dj!

When me and my husband first met with Brian to talk about being our DJ for one of the most important days of our lives we instantly clicked with him and hired him pretty much on the spot. He was very easy going and very compromising the entire time, planning our music and layout of the wedding with his was truly a breeze. He gave us so many recommendations on music to choose if we were uncertain, and steered us in the right direction for what our vision was for our wedding. I could not recommend Brian enough!! Truly amazing!

Awesome Service and Amazing Experience

Brian was absolutely amazing. We had so many compliments the night of our wedding and even the days following on how great the DJ was. We gave him a few songs that we definitely wanted to hear and he went off that and made our night one to remember. He kept people on the dance floor and enjoying themselves. Brian is an awesome dj, he accommodated all of our needs and knew exactly what we wanted for our ceremony and reception. All of our guests loved him and he kept the dance floor packed the entire night. His prices were very affordable, he even provided lapel mics, and a large speaker for our beach ceremony so the guests can hear everything.

Brian was the DJ for our wedding and he was outstanding. He kept everyone on the dance floor all night! I got so many compliments after the wedding on how amazing my DJ was. Everything I wanted in a reception he executed perfectly. He even got there early and set up a sound system for our ceremony! He is very professional and easy to work with. I wasn't planning on using a DJ for my wedding, but I am SO GLAD I went with Brian! He was great! He also did music for my ceremony since the wedding and reception were in the same place. He kept the reception moving and played the music that I wanted! I gave him a list of a few songs and he did the rest based on that! He could read the crowd and knew when to slow it down or when to play everyone's favorite line dances. I would highly recommend Brian!

I can't express just how absolutely amazing Brian was! He was extremely accommodating and is overall just an awesome person. We had a pretty good age range among our guests, but Brian played songs that catered to everyone and kept the dance floor packed the entire night!

He made our wedding so much fun, and we received sooooo many compliments on his behalf! Not only was he an awesome MC and DJ, but he also helped me pull off a surprise bridesmaids dance flawlessly. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ, and would recommend Brian to any-and-everyone!

Hands down the best DJ I have ever been around! When we first met with Brian Hood, he told us that he takes offense when people do not dance. Well, at our wedding, no ever stopped dancing! The music was amazing, the energy each song gave kept our guest on their feet and the party going! There is no greater way of celebrating your wedding day than dancing with your friends and family! Thank you for giving us the best party!! In addition to making our reception a party, Brian helped Jamie and I when deciding on ceremony music. After describing the vision we had for our wedding, Brian gave the best suggestions and they were PERFECT! The best recommendation my husband and I can give you, is choosing Brian Hood for your wedding or event!

Brian was absolutely awesome! My husband and I live in Raleigh and planned our wedding in Wilmington. Brian made it SO EASY to chat and plan and do everything over the phone. Up until we walked into our reception, we had not met, and yet he still managed to do a phenomenal job. What can I possibly say about Brian that would do him justice?! He was AMAZING! He was so easy to work with, extremely responsive and kept the party going the whole night! He took the list of songs we sent him as "must plays" and made sure each one was heard. He was also able to go off our likes and dislikes in order to play the perfect songs all night! He even took requests from our guests (which I had no clue was a thing) and did his best to play each of those songs. He was so much fun and so easy going throughout the whole night (my husband and I forgot to request to cut our special dances short; he paid attention and was so attentive to us and our guests). You will have the most incredible night of your life as long as Brian is your DJ!!

I can't even begin to express how amazing Brian was! He truly was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire experience. He made time for us whenever we requested and truly helped me prepare for our wedding day.

He played music for our ceremony and reception and it was FLAWLESS. We wanted the reception to basically be a dance party and he nailed it, nearly all of our guests were on the dance floor all night. He was so great at gauging the crowd and playing an awesome variety of music throughout the evening to play something for everyone's. I had so many comments from my guests on how amazing he was. I would HIGHLY suggest Brian, he is the best in Wilmington without a doubt.

What can I say... Brian was one of the easiest vendors to work with! He made the process simple and was more than accommodating! Since this was a destination wedding for us, Brian made time to meet with us while we were in town a few months prior to the big day.

In preparation for the big day, Brian was responsive to all the emails for bride/son and groom/mother song requests and the multiple changes in the timeline. Through it all, Brian reassured us all would go well. Since we did not provide a song by song playlist for the night (we only provided a select few songs we wanted played), Brian's selection was absolutely perfect to suit the variety we were looking for (English and Spanish). Brian was amazing! He is seriously worth every penny. I was so worried about people not dancing since I had a small wedding but the dance floor was packed all night long!!! Brian was excellent! I was very nervous about the reception music as I'm....let's say a little particular about my music and a DJ can make or break a party. Wow did Brian make the party! Brian did an incredible job as our wedding DJ -- our guests were commenting all night on how good the music was. Music makes the event. No matter what vibe you are going for, Brian Hood can deliver. We used Brian Hood for our wedding recently, and he read the crowd perfectly, making sure he incorporated the songs we requested but also made sure it kept the party going. He meets with you before the event and gets an idea of what type of music you like and what you don't like. I was amazed after such a short time getting to know us, he knew exactly what songs to play at our wedding. Everyone had a blast dancing and I attribute that to an excellent DJ.

Brian was fantastic. We had a lot of different, special requests, and he did an amazing job making sure all were fulfilled. We also had several changes to our needs throughout the course of planning, and he adjusted as needed with no worries. He worked with us right up to second the ceremony started, making last minute changes that we needed. Brian was a phenomenal DJ. A great DJ can make or break a reception, and our guests (and we) were thrilled with him. Our reception was outside in August, and it was more than toasty. Brian braved the heat and kept our guests dancing until the very end despite it all. He took care to pronounce everyone's names correctly when emceeing, did not play some of the tired / cliche wedding reception songs, played a good mix to keep all the guests (and us) happy, took all of our requests seriously, and knew exactly when to cut the songs to prevent the awkward 3 minute / too long dances. I would definitely recommend him, and we loved working with him.

Brian was amazing! We were planning our wedding from California, and although we're a pretty chill couple, the music at the wedding was very important to us! We had a few calls with him before the date. We wanted to make sure the all guests were dancing. We sent Brian a short playlist, and then a list of artists we like and the general note that we love 90s pop music. He ran with that, and people were going crazy. The dance floor was packed (especially when he played Spice Girls)!! He did a great job of mixing music that the young and older people would enjoy, so everyone was cutting a rug! We used DJ Brian Hood‘s service for our beach wedding this past November in Topsail, North Carolina. Brian was extremely personable and friendly. Planning our wedding from a different state, I had a lot of questions and Brian was extremely accommodating.

Our DJ was AMAZING on Saturday! He was so professional, and so flexible. The best man tried to change a few things at the last second and the DJ just rolled with the punches. I think there were maybe two songs that the dance floor wasn't packed during and that was right at the beginning while people were still mingling. While I did give some general guidelines and suggestions on what we did and did not want played, the DJ was extremely courteous and sought us out to ask before a song was played that may have been outside of our guidelines. We had quite a few older folks so we were grateful that he was so respectful of our wishes. Additionally, the DJ stayed an extra hour even though he had another commitment after our wedding.

All in all, I would highly rate this vendor. Pre-wedding, Brian was very informative, courteous and timely in responding. Our DJ at the wedding was very professional, had a great mix of music, and did an amazing job at reading the crowd. The price was extremely reasonable. This is a great company and I would recommend their services for any event.

Due to the weather, we had to change the start time of the wedding the day before. On top of that, we made a few changes to the songs right before as well. Brian got the party started and people were dancing even before the cake was cut, and stayed on the dance floor the whole night. Our dance floor wasn't big enough for the party at our wedding! He had lights and that helped set the mood. Definitely had a really FUN time with Brian!

My bride and I were juggling between the idea of a DJ and a live band and we couldn't be happier with our decision...DJ Brian Hood was fantastic! Before our big day, we had a planning meeting and laid out exactly what vibe we were going for and our likings (and dislikings) in music. He jotted down notes and did wonderfully at our reception. He played the right stuff at the right times and only engaged the crowd when necessary (for cake-cutting, toasts, etc), and even gave a shout-out to an up-and-coming singer/songwriter we had in attendance and played her new single. DJ Brian Hood is the BEST! He can read the crowd like no other DJ I've worked with. As a wedding professional myself, I appreciate his willingness to take some requests from our guests when it wasn't necessarily his style. Our guests were blown away by the energy on the dance floor and I know it's because of Brian's talents. Brian is the nicest guy and he's great at what he does. We met with him before the wedding and he went over every little detail with us to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted. The night of the wedding he kept checking in with us to make sure we were happy. My husband and I planned our wedding from the West Coast, which can be very stressful and overall difficult. Brian was always very quick to respond to us (which was always via phone or email) and made scheduling conference calls easy. Not only is Brian super talented he is one of the nicest guys to work with! He made our wedding night one that will never be forgotten! I do not think that there was one person who did not make it onto the dance floor! The music selection was perfect and his equipment was top of the line! He set everything up well before his deadline and was prompt to respond to any questions that we had for him. My parents have already said that they want to book him for their 50th anniversary or any party that they will be throwing in the future! I would highly recommend booking Brian Hood for any event, you will not be sorry!

Brian was absolutely fantastic. He worked well with songs we asked to be played and filled in with songs that matched our tastes in music perfectly. Everyone at our wedding stayed on the dance floor all night and had a blast. There is not another DJ in town that will match Brian's skill. Need a DJ....go with Brian Hood! He rocked our socks and dance floor ALL NIGHT LONG at our recent wedding! DJ Brian Hood was the best dj I could have imagined for our special day. He took our requested list of songs and created the most wonderful flow of music for our wedding reception! The service Brian provided for our wedding was professional and exceptional. I met Brian at a wedding event called Courtyards & Cobblestones in downtown Wilmington earlier this year, as I was just beginning my wedding planning. I had decided to put him on my list of DJ's to contact, and he quickly became my number one pick after meeting with several other vendors (wedding venue coordinator, photographer, officiant) who also recommended him as a top pick. Brian was prompt to reply with pricing and worked with us for both our wedding ceremony and our reception (we had no other music vendor). My fiance and I only had a few songs that were "must plays," and we were open to Brian's suggestions on ceremony and reception music based on our tastes. He was spot-on with with taking our information from our meeting and coming up with the music and playlist that we loved (he even found and downloaded the groom/mother of groom dance song for us and chose my entrance song). Whether you have specific songs and a layout you want him to follow, or whether you're looking for some guidance for your event, Brian is a perfect choice. Beyond his talent for picking great music to suit our event, he was always on time and dressed professionally. A big help to me on our wedding day was that he was familiar with and had worked with the venue coordinator and officiant numerous times before and the communication was seamless. My fiance and I think our wedding music was the best ever, and I had numerous family and friends compliment us on our choice of DJ. Thank you, Brian, I would recommend you to anyone, for any type of event!

Brian was really great to work with! He answered any and all questions in the time leading up to the wedding. He did both our ceremony and reception music. Brian played music that got people of all ages on the dance floor having an awesome time. He was willing to cater his music to our specific requests, and did an awesome job of really making it a fun and memorable event. Brian did a great job helping us choose our music for the ceremony and reception, was very responsive on email and reasonably priced. The music he played at the reception kept the party going and people on the dance floor - he even transitioned perfectly when we had a request to play some music for our older guests. From our initial meeting with Brian, we knew that he was perfect for our wedding. We let him know that we were going for the fun party vibe as opposed to the traditional wedding music and Brian did not disappoint in any way. We had the music flowing across all genres from an eclectic ceremony to a soulful dinner to a dance party reception. Brian was also able to make our first dance dreams come true with a mash up of a slow song and an old school classic. He kept the party going and there was never a moment where the dance floor was empty taking my song list and vision and making it a truly memorable experience for all guests. I wanted a party for my reception...and that is what I got thanks to Brian. Everyone still talks about how much fun they had and I am so happy that it was the celebration that I always wanted. My guests stayed on the dance floor until we were getting ready to leave! Also, I must mention, Brian was able to pull all that off even after having an "accident" the night before. No one could tell he wasn't a 100%. He did such a good job my mother is using him for her wedding in July 2012! Thank Brian!!!!
