Last Minute Miracles

Jim was wonderful to work with and came in last minute to our vendor group, but made miracles happen quickly! The lighting was exactly what we needed to light our venue without it being over done. Thank you!

Jim DJed at our recent outdoor wedding in Dallas, and we can't sing his praise highly enough. We knew fairly well what we wanted -- someone who could keep the dance floor busy throughout the night, coordinate with musicians who also performed during the wedding, and subtly move the schedule along. Jim did all those things, and much more. He was the consummate professional throughout the whole process: Everything from playlist development to payments was done through a simple online interface; and Jim was always available to discuss timelines, music selections, or special equipment requests. But he really outdid himself on the day of the wedding: Jim coordinated audio during our ceremony, provided sound to other musicians, and moved the entire sound operation indoors during a period of intermittent rain. Within 30 minutes, we went from outdoor live music to indoor speeches to a packed outdoor dance floor. Days later he mentioned that the logistics had been among the most challenging he'd encountered in 15 years. Of course we were blissfully unaware: Jim simply talked to the event planner, decided what needed to be done, and got it done. Hire him.

Jim was amazing! The lighting was perfect, we absolutely loved our go-bo, very crisp and fit our wedding theme perfectly. We had him DJ ceremony, cocktail hour and an hour + of our reception, then a band took over, but he played the perfect mix of music and everyone had so much fun! The best part was his new Photo Booth .. that was a HIT! It was super sleek/small and didn't take up much space but as soon as our guests knew we had that they LOVED it! Thank you for everything you did to make our event look stunning and helping our guests have a blast!

Jim was our first choice pick for our wedding DJ. He is always the most welcoming, energetic, thoughtful, and organized person. I had just a few requests, and Jim took the time to get to know my husband and I to make sure the evening fit our personalities perfectly. He accepted my requests and then offered suggestions when I wasn’t sure what song to pick or timeline to follow. My dad had a special request for a very unique father/daughter dance, which Jim gladly let him privately discuss with him to make it simply perfect, and that’s exactly how the entire night was.. PERFECT! Many brides and grooms don’t understand how important keeping on a timeline is to help the night run smoothly, but Jim not only understands this, he kindly alerted us when the next task (first dance, cake cutting, speeches, etc) was up. This made the night run extremely smoothly while not feeling rushed, yet keeping guests entertained. I would recommend Jim to anyone and everyone. Thanks for making our Wedding night the absolute best!

Jim was the best! I put off booking any kind of entertainment until the last min and Jim at Discovery saved the day! He was super responsive, flexible, and tons of fun. He helped keep us informed and on track with our event timelines. I am so happy we were referred for his DJ services - I had many compliments about the music all night long. We could not have had a better DJ. We got so many compliments about how well he was doing. He picked all the right music for our friends and family to keep the dance floor full at all times. He made the whole night flow so well. The lighting was also amazing. We requested no hip hop or rap because of parents preferences and he was the only DJ who did not question this. He also made amazing suggestions for a private last dance and it was probably one of my favorite moments from our wedding.

I've posted this review elsewhere, but I wanted to post it here too so Jim and Discovery DJ & Lighting get full credit.

Some of the best money I've ever spent. Seriously, without Jim, I don't know how we would have made this wedding work.

He wasn't just the DJ (though he was). He didn't just watch the timeline like a hawk and make sure everything ran smoothly and efficiently (though he did). He didn't just keep us informed and moving forward gently, kindly, with just the right sense of urgency (though he did that too).

He was the wedding master — SO MUCH MORE than simply playing music. I couldn't BELIEVE the value Jim brought to this experience — I was truly blown away!

I was very nervous about the wedding itself — how people would know what to do next, who would keep on eye on the clock, how people would get organized, know where to be and when to be there, but Jim was on top of it.

He's like the Batman of weddings — he's the hero you didn't know you needed, sticking in the background and melting into the flow of the wedding while still making sure everything is happening smoothly, just the way it should be. Like the secret service of weddings. I might be going a little overboard here with the analogies, but believe me when I say he was beyond perfect.

He was also incredibly professional — but most of all, he made us feel comfortable. I felt like I had nothing to worry about during the wedding because Jim was going to handle it all.

I can't thank you enough Jim for everything you did. You didn't just provide some music or move people around...

You brought us ease and peace of mind — and you can't put a price on that.

Jim is the best. He was our DJ for the entirety of our wedding night and absolutely rocked it.

He's personable (warm, has a welcoming presence), collaborative (which was important to us since we chose to not have a wedding coordinator), and perceptive (he was able to figure us out and give great feedback and suggestions--I highly suggest you leverage his input!).

The music flowed so well from ceremony to the last dance. He did a great job supplementing our song list. Guests were dancing the entire time and did not want to leave. There's even a photo of one of our guests high fiving Jim!

Jim more than DJs! He followed up with us throughout the night, helped keep our night on track, worked well with our other vendors, and made the night feel seamless. I highly recommend him. Happy planning!

My wife and I put together our wedding without the services of a wedding planner, so we ended up finding most of our vendors from weddingwire.com. As such, we weren't sure what to expect from any of our vendors. From our first meeting with Jim, we knew we'd made the right choice. Mr. Weisz is a symbol of professionalism. He came to the interview prepared, and was very forthcoming with any information we needed. He maintained constant contact throughout the planning process, and when the day came he showed up several hours early, and set up all of his equipment before most of us knew he had arrived. When guests started filing in, he made sure to have ambient music playing and was able to follow our very detailed ceremony instructions without a flaw.

As for the reception, we had a very specific playlist we wanted, and Mr. Weisz was able to supplement that playlist with songs from his own lists that went perfectly with the atmosphere and what we wanted. He allowed requests, and had any and every song that was asked for.

Throughout the reception, I'm not afraid to say that I was just a little bit nervous with all that was going on, but SEVERAL times he took a moment to pull me aside and reassure me that everything was going as planned and offered a friendly comment or two.

After the reception, we thanked him for his service and he congratulated us once more and very respectfully took his leave.

Overall, we were EXTREMELY impressed with his service and would recommend Mr. Weisz to ANYONE who had any event they needed a DJ for.

We loved Jim with discovery djs! Guests from our wedding still comment on how awesome he was and we have been asked multiple times if our playlist is on spotify - hah! He definitely helped to keep the party going and we had a blast! When we were interviewing djs our favorite question to ask was "how do you get people out on the dance floor?" His response was perfect and he demonstrated it at our wedding - he creates a musical program/timeline that does the work! (we've all been to those awkward weddings where the djs are constantly asking people our to the dance floor and we wanted to make sure to avoid this - luckily we found Jim!) Jim even accommodated us when we decided to keep the party going an extra hour than originally planned during the middle of our reception!

He was also incredibly responsive and easy to work with throughout the planning process and was very helpful in picking out different songs for bouquet toss, garter toss, last song, etc.!

We would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone getting married or even just hosting a party!

Jim at Discovery Dj was the DJ for our wedding. He also provided the music for our ceremony as well. Jim was absolutely amazing! We used him for multiple services: reception DJ, lighting, a photo slideshow and also sound for the ceremony. The ambiance in the reception room due to the amazing colored lights was spectacular . Jim at Discovery Lighting did a wonderful job of understanding what I was looking for. The lights made all the difference to set the stage for our reception. We had wireless up lights all around the room and lanterns over the dance floor. Apart from centerpieces on the table, Discovery lighting was all I needed for the decor.
As we wanted a dance party and light show at the end of the reception we hired one of Jim's engineers to stay throughout the night to ensure the light show was completely in sink with the DJ. Wow everything was fantastic thanks to Jim and his crew.

We could not be happier with our choice to use Jim and Discovery DJ & Lighting for our wedding. Right from our first meet and greet, Jim blew us away with his prompt and informative communication, great pricing, and even better planning. We had pondered the idea of doing a plug and play for our ceremony and reception, but after the first meeting with Jim, we knew that anything less would be unacceptable. Jim really took the time to get to know us and our tastes, and wasn't afraid to challenge us in ways that made our wedding better. We threw Jim a curve ball in planning by asking him to cut and edit several songs, which he did without hesitation or issue. We also asked him to help plan our grand Rock-Star entrance in a way that wasn't too goofy, and it went off without a hitch!

I have had friends and family who felt some sense of regret after seeing their DJ in action during the wedding, but I can say without hesitation that Jim not only met my expectations, but blew them out of the water. His music choice during the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing gave us and our guests the best experience we could have imagined. Our only regret is that we didn't have time for more dancing! No one wanted to leave the dance floor at the end of the night.

Jim made sure that we never had a single worry about his role in our wedding, and even went the extra mile to help us organize aspects of our day that we hadn't thought of. His sound and honest advice about more than just the music made him an invaluable part to our day. I guarantee that if anyone ever asks us for a DJ recommendation, we will jump at the chance to send them to Jim. I only hope that anyone and everyone is able to use Jim and Discovery DJ & Lighting for their wedding!

Jim completely made our wedding day. We met before hand and told him that we werent going to say "dont play this or that" but we were leaving the reception in his hands. He went table to table and made all of our guests feel so engaged. We received so many compliments from friends and family on how wonderful he was. He kept the crowd dancing the entire night. I couldnt think of one bad thing to say if I tried. I booked him 13 months out and he always answered my phone calls and emails right away even though my wedding wasnt for another year. I could NOT have asked for a better DJ.

Jim is a true professional and made my daughter's wedding absolutely wonderful. He did not only the music but also the lighting for the ceremony room and reception. Jim was AWESOME! So professional and helpful with planning music, as well as the flow of the reception. We are both very indecisive people, and he was very patient and made great suggestions on music, timing, sequence of events, etc. I never once felt like there was music being played that no one liked or that there was a lull in the reception. Jim was amazing to work with and set the tone for our entire wedding! The first time I met with him I could tell he knew exactly what my vision was and he absolutely made my dream a reality. Not only was the music amazing (people were on the dance floor literally until they were asked to leave), but he served as a coordinator as well. He announced when to eat, when to dance, cake cutting, etc. I actually had a wedding planner for the day of, but Jim was much more help to us than that person was. I would highly recommend Jim for any event and would love to use him in the future for a party!

My husband and I were very pleased with the work that Jim Weisz and his team did for our spring wedding reception. We had not originally planned to have lighting at our reception, but when our DJ highly recommended Jim, whose services were reasonably priced and matched our budget, we reconsidered. That last-minute hire was a great decision. Jim immediately began working with me to develop a plan for lighting the reception room we had rented at the local Knights of Columbus hall. He responded to all of my emails quickly, and his responses were always clear and detailed. With Jim’s help, my husband and I decided on uplighting around the periphery of the room and a lighted monogram over the bridal party table. Jim even threw in an LED pinspot for my bridal portrait for free! The day of the wedding, Jim’s team arrived on time and had the hall set up by the time they had promised. As I walked into the room at the beginning of the reception, I could hardly believe my eyes. You would never have guessed we were in a plain old K of C hall! Many of our guests commented on how the lighting transformed the room. Thanks, Jim!

Jim was absolutely phenomenal! During our initial appointment Jim asked questions about us as a couple, how we met and what we pictured for our wedding. He asks what kind of music you like and what you would like to play. He has an amazing website where you can select songs that MUST be played, some you like and do not play (which I loved!! I didn't want any YMCA, chicken dance or choreographed dances). His website is also organized with first dance suggestions, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting, etc. which made it so much easier for us to pick out songs. Jim is very professional and dresses professional for the event. He is not the silly DJ who tells corny jokes or tries to teach dances, he makes a wedding an elegant event. I heard so many compliments from guests about how much they loved my DJ. He doesn't play the music so loud that you can't hear the person next to you talking and he plays a good variety, mixing it up well. I also used Jim for my uplighting and monogram light. I was floored with how well the room looked. Lighting makes ALL the difference in a space! He has a number of monogram lights to choose from and if you don't see one you like, you can look on pinterest and he can customize one. I highly recommend Jim, if you need a DJ or uplighting, look no further!!!

Jim was so fantastic to work with! From our first meeting till the wedding he was very responsive, kind and so easy to work with. He created the most perfect mood with the lighting, gobo and music. During the wedding he knew exactly what kind of music to play. We had a a crazy crowd who loved dancing and he picked the most perfect music- no one left the dance floor. The uplighting was so perfect! He also took our monogram from our invitation designer and turned it into a gobo for the wall and it was perfect and crisp. I found Jim Weisz in doing my own research after getting a ridiculous quote from Absolute Lighting. The hardest part was finding him and it was smooth sailing from there. My wedding planner did not refer him to me even though she had worked with him previously which was strange since he worked with her and kept her in the loop the entire time.

His lighting was a good value and I only needed a few emails and one quick 20 minute consult at the venue to get the perfect color that my husband and I wanted. It all ended up looking beautiful with the purple corners and blush uplighting. Now that I have received our photos back from the wedding, the lighting really made a difference. I would definitely recommend Discovery DJ & Lighting for gorgeous lighting with minimal effort.

Jim did an absolutely amazing job for our wedding! He provided DJ and lighting services. Our room was lit beautifully and the music was amazing! This is the only wedding I have seen where the DJ got booed for ending the night; everyone was on the dance floor the entire time!! Jim is also very professional and easy to work with. His website used for selecting songs is a breeze to work and made our lives much easier. We were also able to find everything we looked for, even if it was a recently released song. I will be recommending Jim to everyone!

Jim was awesome to work with from the start. He asked some very interesting questions during our initial meet & greet and also during our pre-wedding planning session. He was dressed professionally during the reception. He was basically my wedding planner the day of my wedding and helped our entire reception flow smoothly. People were on the dance floor the ENTIRE TIME. Jim was worried we had too much time built-in for dancing but the mix of his talent and our attendees was like fire and gasoline. There are two things you don't skimp on for a wedding: a DJ and a photographer. I did not skimp on either of these and I don't regret a penny of it. Pick Discovery DJ if you are in the North Texas area and want your wedding to be a blast!

Jim was so helpful when I reached out to him in search of a wedding DJ and Lighting for my big day! Even though he was booked for DJ, he was extremely helpful to refer a reliable DJ who did an amazing job as well! Jim and I met to look at the space and to look at the color options, pin spots, etc.

When I arrived to the venue on the day of the wedding, I was amazed at his attention to detail because the room was breath taking! I kept sneaking out of the back just to look at the room before the ceremony! I couldn't take my eyes off how amazing he made our ceremony and reception look! It really added a romantic feel to the bid day!

I highly recommend Jim to anyone!! I recently did a wedding with Jim since I'm in the wedding industry and he did an amazing job to keep everyone on schedule and the music he chose made the guests dance until the end. AMAZING! The overall wedding planning process is so much easier when you are able to find vendors who are simply wonderful to work with! Jim was AWESOME! Planning with him was excellent - and the final product - WEDDING DAY - was truly perfect! Everyone had so much fun! He really "got us" and what we were looking for in music - everyone danced all night! His lighting services were also an added bonus! Between the music and the lighting the mood throughout the entire night was excellent!

I really can't say enough wonderful things about Discovery DJ's! Final comment - Jim himself was really great at communicating throughout the night! He checked in with us when needed - however we just let him make the calls because he knows what he's doing!

What can we say about Jim except that he helped our wedding be the best ever! He was awesome! SO many guests commented that it was one of the most fun weddings they'd been to in a long time, and they all commented on how the DJ was so great. He worked with us to detail the flow of events throughout the night, and he worked with the wedding coordinator to keep the flow of the reception going. We had him do music for the ceremony & reception. He also added some lights (his suggestion) for the dance floor and a pin light on the cake. He provides me and my husband (then fiance) with log-in information to go online and choose songs for everything. It was a very easy process (just make sure you save your input on the website! :) ). His work at our wedding was above and beyond what we expected from a DJ, and we are SO thankful we ended up going with him. We HIGHLY recommend Jim for your wedding DJ! If we had to do it all again, we would absolutely pick him without question.

I mainly had contact with Jim and he was amazingly prompt and professional. He met us at our venue a few months before our wedding and did a demo of different colors for us. Our venue was surrounded by glass and the uplighting looked amazing in the room! We had a controller that allowed the DJ to change the colors throughout the night. It added such an amazing touch and aura to the night. Their prices were the best of any place I had asked and they don't compromise quality one bit. I would recommend them to anyone!

As the Mother of the Bride, and for the most part the Wedding Planner, I was so pleased with Jim and the job he did at my daughter's wedding. We wanted a variety of music that appealed to all ages so everyone would be enthusiastic about getting up and dancing and we succeeded! The dance floor was full all night, even until the end of the reception. Jim was great at "reading" the crowd and he knew exactly what to play to keep everyone engaged. Jim was fantastic!! My husband and I would not have changed a thing!

We live in San Antonio but had our reception in Dallas. Jim did a wonderful job setting up meetings with us through Skype and walking us through each step throughout the planning process. We loved how he took our ideas and made them work perfectly for our big night. During the reception, Jim would find my husband and I to check in. He was such a huge help keeping us on track throughout the night, as the time seemed to fly by! Like I said, we loved having Jim at our reception. He did a great job reading our guests and finding the appropriate music the entire night. All of my guests raved at how much fun they had dancing at our reception, it was perfect!

Both my husband and I highly recommend Jim if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or next event. Jim was professional, energetic, and such a joy to have at our wedding.

Jim Weisz was awesome! I am so glad I found him and could not have asked for a better DJ. He ran the show! Throughout the reception I had people commenting on how awesome the wedding and the music was. He is very personable, professional, and does not do anything you do not want! Jim was AMAZING!!
We were very particular with our music, that it would flow through all of the decades and be fun for our guests of all ages. We also wanted to keep requests under control. We had been to too many weddings where the music was not entertaining to the entire crowd and the requests took over the entire reception.
Jim was very receptive to our concerns and explained how it would go. During the wedding, he would even come find me, the bride, and ask if something was okay, or when he was thinking of doing an activity like the bouquet and garter toss. He verified requests and who asked for them. Instead of having a set play list to go off of (which he did play our must haves), he read the room and found appropriate music for each element of the wedding. It was perfect.
I highly recommend Jim if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or next event.

Jim was a dream to work with and provided top-notch DJ and lighting services for our recent wedding. Jim was professional and was exactly spot on for everything we wanted to achieve for our wedding where music is such a critical component of making your overall plan a reality.

He was extremely knowledgeable and was able to make great recommendations as well as take our genres of music and make them work perfectly for every segment of our big day. He even has an online song planning system that makes planning a breeze!

More importantly, Jim was extremely flexible when we were forced to switch to a last minute "Plan B", changing locations within the venue due to weather conditions. He never missed a beat (no pun!) and made it all work seamlessly.

ALL of our guests raved about what a great "party" we had and loved the reception and music.

Jim was never obtrusive, but rather tee'd everything up exactly and kept the feel of the entire evening on schedule and perfectly running.

I HIGHLY recommend Jim for any event where you require a DJ/lighting services - couldn't do any better!!

Jim is the BEST!! I decided to have uplights and pinspotting lights at my wedding last minute. I called around and got a few quotes from other companies and Jim's prices and service was so much better than the others!!! I quickly signed a contract with him and we scheduled a time to meet at our site. I got to see the lights in the actual room of our wedding and picked a custom color. I knew it would be perfect when Jim explained to me that he doesn't put a price per uplight, he just makes the room look the absolute best, no matter how many lights he uses. Jim was amazing! I had called around and talked to a lot of DJs, but Jim was the first one I actually wanted to meet. And after talking to him for an hour, we knew we had found the right guy. He was so down to earth, and laid back, but I could tell he really knew what he was doing. We had a unique situation, because some of my family was going to perform a few songs at the reception, but the rest of the time, we would need a DJ. Jim was so helpful and willing to work with the band. He was even willing to set up a day early, provided some microphones and let the band tap into his sound system. And the music for the whole reception was perfect!! We had a day wedding, but everyone was up and dancing the whole time. He was always on top of things, really responsive to anything I needed, and always did it with a smile on his face. I would highly recommend working with Jim!!

As you can imagine, a DJ can make or break your wedding, but you will definitely not be disappointed with Jim Weisz and Discovery DJs. From my first meeting with Jim, I knew he would work hard to make sure my wedding was all that I envisioned. He took the time to understand the types of music my husband and I liked, the way that we wanted to set up our reception, and the demographics of our guest list, all of which provided me peace of mind. Jim did a great job of moving our reception along without trying to be the "star of the show." He went to great lengths to make sure that we didn't have to worry about a single thing on the day of the wedding - even taking the initiative to reach out to our ceremony musicians to make sure we had the right amplification at the ceremony. In addition, he worked magic with our playlist, saving us when we picked too many snoozy songs but still keeping with the spirit of our wishes -- so much so that several of our guests have commented that we had "the best wedding music" they had ever heard, "the best playlist" and in general "the best wedding they'd ever been to."

Jim was very professional and flexible with our wedding reception party. He was able to receive 350 photos and generate a slideshow for us, using his own projector screen. It was a really nice touch for the event, and it was as easy as it could be. I emailed him the photos and that was it.

He took time to Skype with my wife and me because we were out of town, and he generated a fun mix of dance music that had our crowd entertained for the entire night.

He was flexible with how our event progressed. At one point, it was clear that the majority of the guests were socializing and talking with us. He lowered the music to accommodate that dynamic. It was a perfect, seamless event for us.

Thank you Jim for all of your work. It was perfectly memorable!

I highly recommend Discovery DJ and Lighting. Jim was a fantastic Master of Ceremony for our wedding. He was very professional and made everyone feel comfortable. He took the time to get to know my husband and I, and made sure he put together a playlist that fit the theme we were looking for, and to keep the reception lively and fun for our guests. Everyone raved about how fun the wedding was. We had a packed dance floor.

Jim also fully prepared the Fathers before their speeches, letting them know how they would be introduced, where to stand and how to hold the mic. Everything was perfect.

His lighting completely transformed the ballroom -- it was awash in beautiful colors and made everything feel so warm and elegant.

Jim was SOOOOO great!! He was completely professional from beginning to end and truly put us at ease. We married in Texas but we live in New York, so we did not have the opportunity to meet Jim in person until our wedding day. We never worried that he would not show up.

The venue was mostly outdoors and a HUGE thunderstorm hit during the middle of our event. Jim sprung into action and adjusted accordingly - without any prompting. He just handled whatever came up. At one point one speaker went out because water poured into the back of it! Jim quickly responded and we had music again within 5 minutes.

Honestly, it was a fabulous wedding experience and and Jim deserves much of the credit for that - for setting the tone, suggesting good music, keeping the flow of evening set in song, etc. He helped our magical affair stay classy! THANKS JIM!!!!

Jim was patient, professional, and helpful from the first time we met with him until the very end of our event. He always responded via email in a timely manner through out the planning process and really knows what it takes to make a wedding successful.
We had a Spanish/English wedding and I was originally concerned about him being able to meet the expectations for both groups, but he showed us his website, which allowed us to select songs from his already huge selection of Spanish music as well as request new songs that were important to us that he didn't already own. Everything was flawless from the beginning of the ceremony, through cocktail hour and an amazingly fun night of dancing until he directed everyone out for our send off.
He is also very attentive to the way guests are responding to the noise level and song selection. He worked in conjunction with our other vendors to help coordinate when things like toasts, bouquet tosses, cake cutting, etc. should happen and politely cued us to make sure everything flowed perfectly. We highly recommend Discovery DJ!!!

Jim was FANTASTIC! We had people up and dancing the entire night! He was so kind and professional. He met with us at a coffee shop near my house and got a feel for what we were looking for. He talked just enough to keep the wedding reception going seamlessly but was not obnoxious like some DJs. He took requests for songs but also had a "do not play" list from us to make sure nothing offensive was played. We had a wonderful night! For our wedding in May of 2013, we hired Jim and his team to provide the lighting for both our ceremony and our reception. Jim was very understanding and willing to work with me on the two events being held at the same venue. The best part was his team was reliable, proficient and never saw them the day of!! Didn't have worry about them at all the team was there prepared and did EXACTLY as was discussed and contracted. Amazing!! Would highly recommend!

Jim is awesome. He has the best website where you can plan your entire reception out, and it makes everything so easy! He had a "do not play" list, where you could tell him any song and he seriously would not play it! He was not a cheesy DJ either, very much a "master of ceremonies" that helped the night run smoothly! I would recommend him to anyone!!! Thanks so much Jim for all of your hard work!

Jim was wonderful. We didn't realize we needed lighting until the week before the wedding and he was able to provide lighting for our event. The ability of our DJ to change the lighting to suit the mood of our guests was perfect and really added to the night. If we ever need lighting again I would use Discovery Lighting.

Working with Discovery DJs was an awesome experience!!! From our first meeting we were truly confident that everything would be taken care of at the reception exactly the why we wanted it! Jim was extremely organized and on top of every issue from the moment we first met with him. He always responded to emails on the same day. He allowed us to fully customize what songs we wanted played for both our ceremony and reception. About a month before the wedding, he worked directly with us to come up with a timeline of events for the reception, and he worked directly with our other vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly. At the same time, he made sure to not steal away any spotlight from the bride and groom. Extremely professional throughout the entire process, and definitely worth the price.

Jim provided DJ services at my wedding. He was able to handle the music for the ceremony and reception. He edited songs for us, gave us copies, and reassured us that he made multiple backups and copies. He did a great job at listening to our likes and dislikes while also accommodating our guests. Jim did a great job at getting our guests involved and excited in everything that was happening. His organizational skills and professionalism is what originally blew us away and we are so glad that we stuck with him. We had a great time and are very pleased with our decision to hire him. I would recommend his services to anybody!

Jim is an incredible dj he did such an amazing job at my wedding I couldn't have asked for any better I Recieved what I wanted for the music for my wedding he did it so perfect even the music level you were still able to have a conversation with someone without screaming which my family really appreciated also he mixed the music up sense there was different ages at the wedding did oldies new songs and line dances that everyone knew which made it a blast he is the best dj out there so if your looking to throw a good party I would go with him he does amazing job and made my wedding party incredible I had so much fun.

Jim did the lighting for my sister's wedding reception and ceremony. I was the maid of honor and was so lucky to find Jim through an internet search to do her lighting. Jim was so easy to work with, responded to my emails quickly and went above and beyond what we had discussed in our contract to make sure that everything would turn out great . The lighting was absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family in the future !

Jim did an outstanding job at our wedding which was held at the Ritz Carlton in Dallas. We've had a number of guests comment on both the lighting and the music at our wedding and couldn't have been happier. Our venue had some unique requirements (colored lighting on cherry blossom trees, pin spotting, altar lighting, etc) which Jim handled with perfection. Jim was well organized, professional, performed all songs we requested with precision and an absolute pleasure to work with it truly made our whole wedding experience more enjoyable. Thank you for an excellent performance and job well done!! This is the best wedding DJ and lighting services company in Texas!

Working with Jim was an absolute pleasure! Every interaction we had with him left us feeling excited and relieved, as we knew our wedding was in good hands. We did not realize how vital of a role the DJ played in a wedding, until it all came together. Jim completely transformed the banquet room and turned it into a magical environment. Jim used some of the best equipment available on the market; everything was wireless and discreet. Jim was very tactful and openly communicated with us during the reception, and ensured everything was going the way we had imagined it. If we had to do it all over, we would have come to Jim sooner, as he gives great tips and advice in all aspects of the wedding planning.

Completely run by Jim Weisz, Dicovery DJs did an AMAZING job DJing our wedding. The dance floor was always packed and he knew exactly what to play and when to play it to keep people up and moving and also to give them a slow song here and there to catch their breath. He was amazing and kept the mood up the entire night. We have received so many compliments about how awesome Jim was!

Jim was very professional and was always very quick to get back to us and he was very accommodating and flexible.

HIGHLY recommended. :)

Jim did an incredible job as our DJ/MC! I still remember halfway through our first meeting with Jim saying, "I love you, where do we sign?" haha. Jim has a way of putting you at ease...he has a wealth of experience and good tips, a laid back personality, and he immediately won us over. Not to mention, he does so much to customize the wedding to the bride/groom's wishes--he wanted it to be what we wanted...to help make our vision for the music, toasts, dances, etc., come to life. He was organized, in regular contact with us and so responsive to our questions and requests.

On the day of the event, he kept things flowing, checked in with us, and was willing to make changes on a dime if I asked him to kill a song or to play something out of the blue. He adapted well to our group, and for a day wedding, we had a pretty impressive dance floor!

You will not work with a nicer vendor during your wedding process--he is accommodating, professional and delivers a quality product. We could not recommend him more to other brides/grooms in DFW!!

Jim was absolutely fabulous to work with! My biggest fear was finding the right wedding entertainment, as the dj determines how the night is going to go. After meeting with Jim, my fears were quickly laid to rest. He is by far the most professional vendor I have ever worked with. His song list is extensive, he is always prompt and lends valuable advice as to the schedule of events. With Jim, I (honestly) had not one worry!

I was really on the fence about whether we could fit uplighting into our budget or not, but Jim was very helpful and informative in our deicision process and I am so glad that we did! Everything was set up beautifull and we had a light go out (that I didn't even notice) and our DJ called Jim and he came up there himself to replace it and stayed for a while to make sure it was good! That is over the top service!

Was very impressed with Jim from start to finish! He is very organized and really makes it easy with his online planning forms to get every last detail to him that he needs (I love organization like this)! He not only met but exceeded the expectations that my now husband and I had in a DJ for our wedding. Not only that but was so glad to heard many of our wedding guests raving about what a great DJ he is. He also provided us with lighting for our reception and very pleased! I could not wait to get back from my honeymoon and rave about Jim!! He made my day beyond special and went above and beyond his job title to make everything run smooth at my reception. Another vendor I had used fail to plan appropriately for my send off and he took it under his wing to fix without even addressing me about it. He played all the songs I had asked but played them at the perfect time! He is great about reading the guests moods to each song. We had guests upon guests come up to us and tell us how much fun they had at our reception and how much fun they had dancing. One of my guests even went up and got his business card right then and there. A few days before the wedding, a couple changes were made that were out of our control and Jim rolled with the punches and adjusted everything. He is extremely flexible, easy to work with, and extremely friendly! Overall amazing experience and I cannot rave about him enough!!! Choosing him as your DJ will make your life easier planning your wedding :)

From the 1st meeting to the wedding reception, Jim was buttoned up! He is organized and professional and kept the evening moving. He is easy to work with and willing to adapt to what is needed. Jim was so great! My whole family is still bragging about him...seriously. Jim is responsive, organized, and just provided a great overall service. I had vendors calling me throughout the day, which caused me a lot of stress. When I got to the reception, Jim quickly showed me he would take care of everything, and I had the best night, just enjoying being in the moment. At first I was hesitant to get lighting for our wedding...but I am soooooo glad I did!!! It turned out wonderful!! The room was completely different and looked so amazing. Jim was so easy to work with and was there every step of the way. I would recommend this company to anybody. Trust me, lighting makes a hugeeee difference and your guests will love it.

Jim was very helpful with music selections and felt the crowd wonderfully. He also kept the reception flowing and there was never a dull moment. All of my guests said that our wedding was the most fun they had been to, and a huge factor was Jim. The dance floor was always full and everyone had a wonderful time.

The up lighting from Discovery DJs transformed my entire ballroom for my wedding! Jim Weisz was very prompt on getting back to me with any questions I had. It was even his idea to meet me at my venue prior to my wedding to ensure I would have the exact color I wanted. I would definitely recommend Discovery DJs! I was 100% satisfied with their service!

I wish I could give Jim and Discovery DJ more than five stars! Throughout the planning process Jim was very helpful and his online resources and planning tools are amazing. Jim did our ceremony and reception music and lighting for our reception. In such a unique space like the Cotton Mill, lighting really put the look above and beyond what we could have expected. At our reception, Jim was great with his timeline. He kept us on point and organized so that we were able to do everything we needed to but still felt as though we didnt miss a moment of the wedding. Also he was very respectful of our wedding music choices and he did a great job building on the momentum of the event to a great climax to the night. Discovery DJ was wonderful, couldn't have asked for more!

According to NUMEROUS wedding guests, this was the best DJ anyone has heard. It was the greatest music selection that one could ask for. He kept the dance floor packed with over 100 people most of the night because of his collection and order for music. Plus, he had great ideas for making the most of our night (music, timing and keeping us on track). I would not want my friends to consider anyone else if Discovery DJ's has availability.

We had Jim Weisz as the DJ for my daughter's wedding and he was fantastic! He played all the songs that we wanted and also played requests from the crowd. He watched which songs the crowd danced to, and made sure that he played more of that type of music. Everyone danced all night until the end of the reception. My daughter was having so much fun that she didn't want to stop the dancing to throw her bouquet! Everyone said that it was the best reception that they had ever attended. He made it a wonderful evening!

It was such a pleaseure to work with Discovery DJs! Jim did an excellent job of translating our more casual, eclectic style into a very fun reception, while still maintaining the formalities and pleasing my more conservative family. My wife and I were extremely lucky to have found Discovery when searching for the perfect DJ. This was the ONLY company we interviewed. We were that impressed. We not only used Discovery for the reception, but also for the ceremony music. I honestly believe that selecting the correct DJ is one of the top 3 single decisions when it comes to making or breaking a wedding. Jim was absolutely the best to work with during the pre-wedding planning phase. He brought up things we hadn't even thought of, helping us make decisions based on his vast experience. During the reception, he is able to instantly read the mood of the group and adapt accordingly. We chose the full package including the uplighting which made a world of difference. Because of the festive nature of the wedding being on St. Patricks Day, this only made the environment that much more special. Jim is an absolutely professional, offering up service above and beyond what is expected at a great value. If you are in search of that perfect DJ, whether Discovery is your first or one of the last companies you are interviewing, it should be the one you choose.

Jim is EXCELLENT. He is extremely organized. We wanted a DJ that wouldn't try to steal the show with awful jokes and he didn't.
