Amazing! Best dj ever!

I hired Disco Royale for a theme party for our Talking Heads 40th Anniversary of the film “Stop Making Sense” on Maui, Hawaii. Kevin was AMAZING to say the very least! He flew from Seattle, was on time and took care of procuring the equipment from a local vendor here on island. He got all the set up done, including a digital projector and screen for the outdoor movie (which was a challenge due to wind justs and some early rain squalls) and played music which complemented the film plus a lot of other great dance tunes. He fielded requests by many of the 50 guests and had the party going into the late hours. After the sun went down, we danced and danced under a bright full moon. Everyone had such a terrific time! Kevin's MC expertise was also helpful as I had him conduct a trivia contest, which was a big hit. Kevin was affable and knowledgable about all types of music in addition to the must-plays I gave him.
The BEST DJ I have ever hired, hands down! 5 STAR DJ, but I would love to give him more!

Best dance floor

Wow—Kevin at Disco Royale was absolutely incredible! From start to finish, he went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was unforgettable. The dance floor was packed all night with guests of all ages, and the energy was absolutely electric.

Kevin worked closely with us to fine-tune a playlist that reflected our style and included all the songs we love. His attention to detail, including doing a vendor walkthrough beforehand, showed just how professional and dedicated he is.

He didn’t just play music—he created an experience that kept everyone on their feet and made the night feel magical. We are so grateful for his talent and expertise. Thank you, Kevin, for helping make our wedding everything we dreamed it could be!

Holiday Gathering

We hosted a large holiday party that included several generations. We wanted music that everyone could enjoy. Kevin, with Disco Royale, did a fabulous job! The selection of music with dinner added to the enjoyment of our meal. Likewise, many guests commented on " the nice and festive music that was playing" as they arrived.

Everything we wanted and more

Kevin was a recommended vendor by our venue. We reached out to him not knowing what to expect and not being fans of traditional cheesy wedding DJs. Kevin blew us away in our first call. My partner is passionate about music and they vibed instantly. We also had two different styles of preferred wedding music and Kevin blended everything seamlessly. Our dance floor was packed the whole hour. No one even needed to request anything, Kevin just kept it going. 10/10 would recommend him to all my friends. WE LOVE KEVIN

Kevin is THE BEST, absolute must hire.

Kevin absolutely blew me away with his professionalism, attention to detail, and flawless execution of our vision for our wedding. We had a very specific musical taste, which required him playing almost no traditional wedding music, and he absolutely crushed it all day long. He kept the energy level at 10 the entire wedding, and we were truly blown away. His lighting set up, sound system, mixing abilities, microphone set up for the ceremony, and everything else were absolutely spot on. He even provide a detailed playlist after the wedding, and purchased countless songs for us. I can not recommend Kevin enough, he will not let you down!

Disco Royale is the best wedding DJ

We loved working with Kevin/ Disco Royale. Our wedding planner introduced us to Kevin as we were looking for someone who had experience with Jewish weddings, was within budget, and paid for all of the music he played. No streaming. This was important to us because we wanted to make sure artists are compensated for their work, and by purchasing the music this ensured there was no hiccups due to lost of connection. We highly recommend Kevin. He understood our needs, was excited about our venue, answered all questions super quick, and helped create a great edit to the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to.

Kevin has a very detailed questionnaire to help determine what type of music to play. We enjoyed this process and believe he nailed the music at our wedding.

Kevin showed up early, entertained guests throughout the night, respected the venue staff, and was able to respectfully honor our cultural traditions throughout the day. He was the perfect DJ for our wedding!

When it was asked, "would you reccomend Kevin to a friend?" I found it funny, because I already had. He is lined up to a great friend of mine's wedding. He did my wedding, and he is amazing, I could not reccomend enough and the proof is there, He is doing my friends wedding too. Kevin at Disco Royale was absolutely everything we could have asked for in a DJ for our wedding night! We found him through our photographer, who recommended Kevin as a vendor he had worked well with previously. My husband and I were on a tight budget for our wedding and the DJ was one of the last vendors we booked - and if you are planning a wedding you know that a budget can get out of hand quickly. We contemplated not evening having a DJ and letting a friend run a Spotify playlist for the night but decided to reach out to Kevin and a few other DJ's recommended by our photographer to see if any of them would be willing to work with our budget. Kevin was the only one who came back willing to work with us yet he provided everything we could have asked for and more! He was an excellent emcee and kept the night flowing smoothly - something our friend running the Spotify on an iphone would not have been able to do. We met with Kevin before the wedding and explained our vision for the evening and the music we liked. Kevin was very knowledgeable about music and genres and his worksheet that he provided us was quite extensive, allowing him to better understand our style. My husband and I both felt comfortable allowing him to use his knowledge and experience to select music that would keep the party going while staying true to our music tastes. Kevin brought his wife to help who was so friendly and personable. Our wedding guests commented throughout the night how friendly they were and even thought they might be family! We really cannot say enough good things about Kevin, he was professional throughout the whole process and really saved our wedding by allowing us to us a professional to run the sound and emcee the evening. We are thankful that we found Kevin and we would not hesitate to recommend him to our own friends and family - and to you!

Kevin of Disco Royale was absolutely the best we could ever have imagined. If we could give him 6 or more stars we would because that is exactly how much we valued his service. We had our wedding at our own house, and prior to the wedding day Kevin took the time to come see our space and talk with us about our song preferences. He was so open and willing to play all the songs we requested, but he was able to arrange them in an amazing sequence that immaculately fit each part of the wedding and set the proper mood for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. My wife and I were simply amazed at how wonderful it was to hear all of our requests, and we received so many compliments from friends and family about the music and Kevin, our DJ!
If you are getting married, there is no point in looking anywhere else, because Disco Royale is truly the best.
We can't thank Kevin enough for his professionalism, kind demeanor, and fun-loving spirit. He truly made our wedding a day we will never forget. Many thanks to Disco Royale!!! We appreciate it so much and will remember it in our hearts forever!

This review is long overdue, but I can't let Kevin down any longer. He slayed for us back in May 2015 on Whidbey Island. Long story short, Kevin is reasonably priced and unreasonably skilled. LOCK HIM DOWN FOR YOUR BIG DAY.

My then-fiancee and I have divergent music tastes, but Kevin saw beyond our specific requests and totally understood what kind of sound we wanted. Everything he played was a crowd-pleaser, perfectly apropos, from outdoor reception to post-last-dance wind-down. It was a ~long~ day, and Kevin was always on point.

Kevin was also extremely professional, and low-maintenance. He hit all his cues as MC, without us needing to manage him day-of. He knew the gameplan ahead of time, because he'd given us easy-to-fill forms ahead of time. And the equipment was great.

Kevin was incredibly nice, professional, and flexible. My husband and I were planning our wedding remotely, and Kevin was very flexible in agreeing to have Skype meetings instead of face-to-face meetings when we couldn't make it to Seattle, and he was full of great feedback and experience that helped make our day perfect. In fact, our very first discussion was over Skype, and Kevin was so easy to talk to, we hit it off right away. We used Disco Royale for DJ services and lighting, and Kevin also created a customized gobo for us which was absolutely STUNNING (and matched the font on our wedding invitations!!!!) and really transformed the reception space. He was very communicative throughout the music selection and other planning processes and I received great feedback from our guests about how nice and fun he was during our wedding reception. The music he picked was perfect throughout the evening and it helped get people on to the dance floor and stay out there! He also helped emcee our reception, which was a huge help in ensuring our guests didn't miss anything. In terms of value, Disco Royale is incredible - we looked at quite a few vendors before making our final decision, but the quality for the price was unbeatable. Thank you, Kevin, for making our wedding day so much fun and infinitely memorable!

Kevin was the perfect wedding dj. He was easy to work with and everything went off without a hitch. He was very accommodating in meeting with us at venue beforehand to get a feel for where everything would be located. He mic'd up myself and the officiant so we could be heard from the back. He accommodated two different setups: 1 for the ceremony, 1 for the reception area. He emceed the speeches, dances, cake cutting, etc. One of the main things we were looking for in a dj was someone who could beatmatch and mix dance music for the reception. We gave him a playlist of songs to show him what style we were looking for and then let him run with it. We couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. He brought a great sound system with him and the lights added to the good vibes. I would highly recommend Disco Royale for your event.

He had an incredibly warm and professional attitude, a great feel for what we wanted to hear, as well as what the guests wanted to dance to. Kevin was a fantastic DJ and incredibly accommodating for us. The services he provided us went above and beyond providing music on our wedding day. He joined us during our first walkthrough of the venue and during our rehearsal to make sure the sound quality at the venue would be good enough and even provided extra equipment on the big day to enhance the sound on the rooftop, where our ceremony took place.

We were very intent on getting specific songs into each part of the wedding, and Kevin was more than willing to work with our playlists. We were even able to make some very last minute changes for the ceremony music without any problems from Kevin. In fact, from our first meeting on, Kevin was responsive to emails and very fun to speak with. Our guests loved the music, and given how busy we were, we can't exactly remember all the songs that were played, but Kevin's got that covered as well - he's sending us the complete playlists.

Kevin was definitely one of the best finds for our wedding. We'd highly recommend Disco Royale to anybody looking for a DJ!

Working with Disco Royale was a dream! Not only was our DJ Kevin congenial with my husband and I, he also interacted incredibly well with all the guests at our wedding. He played all the music we wanted and added his own personal touch. Our cake cutting and first dance happened quicker than expected and Kevin adapted perfectly without missing a beat. Kevin is very thorough, attentive, and patient, and has a very large repertoire of music. He is also creative and rolls with the punches: we gave him a huge list of songs for our planned 60-90 minutes of dancing, but we only ended up having about 20-30 minutes for dancing, so Kevin had to choose only the best songs, which he did very well! He even sends you a CD of your wedding music afterwards, so you can relive your special day. Highly recommend!

DJ Kevin was fantastic, start to finish. He not only played excellent music, but also (and way before the dancing) created a nice mood & flow with the crowd of 90. He cared enough to ask the right questions before, during, and after, and even brought a helper at no extra charge. His idea to have 2 separate locations for audio speakers also was wise, and he made that work as well for cocktail hour to toasts. Great guy, well-priced, great service. Cheers!

We recently used Disco Royale for our wedding ceremony and reception. Kevin did an AWESOME job! He was easy to work with and very flexible (we had some last minute music choices for the ceremony). Everything went very smoothly. I was worried about the sound and of course the microphone crackling or cutting out ( I have witnessed this at numerous wedding I have been to) but we didn't have any of those problems =) He had the speakers set up in the best position so everyone could hear the speeches (Our wedding was at The Canal, which has a very interesting layout for sound). He is very professional and great when it comes to talking to large groups of people. We had numerous guest mention how great our DJ was and that they loved the music selection. I didn't get to hear to much of the music since we went to take pictures, but from what I did hear during dinner I loved it. I would highly recommend Kevin to any bride and groom. Thank you Kevin for helping make our day special =)

Kevin DJ/MC'd our wedding last month. He gave us a list of genres/artists just to get our gears turning, and was very flexible when it came to songs he did not know about. I requested songs from non-mainstream soundtracks, and he was able to hunt down and cut the songs to the exact places/lengths I wanted. He also provided us with a customization guide sheet to make sure we had the songs we wanted for key moments during the wedding. Kevin was responsive with his emails and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted, how we wanted it. When the big day came, he was spot-on with my request list and got my husband, my and my friends' music tastes so well that I had guests asking me throughout the night if I picked all the songs for the night! I barely had a chance to sit down because I couldn't get myself to sit out of any of the songs he played! The way he MC'd the evening was also perfect. Just the right amount of commentary and humor before going straight back to the course of events. When the night was winding down and only the closest friends and family remained, my guests spontaneously began circling my husband and I with candles and our send-off bubbles during the last dance. Kevin and his assistant Lauren joined right on in with the bubbles -- it was not at all necessary, but was very touching and showed me how much he cared to make our night special. Thank you, Kevin and Lauren!!

We very much enjoyed having Kevin as our DJ. He was flexible and attentive, and kept the evening running smoothly. Kevin at Disco Royale was the perfect choice for our wedding. He worked with us well in advance of the wedding to get a feeling for what we wanted, checked back in a week or so before to make sure everything was on track, and even helped us pick our father-daughter song 2 days before the wedding... and this is the key part... without giving us grief or pressure! Love his form-based system, and his geniality. He did well with our last-minute requests to work the bride's brother in as MC & music director, and blended right into the background on the Big Day (in a positive way... I forgot we even HAD a DJ because everything was going so smoothly, which majorly contributed to our ability to enjoy the friends and family who'd flown in). It was especially nice to have the owner of the business guaranteed as our actual DJ on the day-of. 10/10 would highly recommend. Thanks Kevin!

He really seemed to understand our taste, and his "music menu" helped us think of danceable songs within the genres we liked -- this was extra important for us, since we're not big hip-hop/top40 fans but still wanted to play songs our friends would like and be able to dance to (and dance they did!).

During the planning stages, we also appreciated that Kevin was very relaxed (important for stressed-out couples!) and so always professional -- never pushy, which was a vibe we'd gotten from some other DJs we'd talked to. Communication, whether by Skype, email, or in person, was a breeze because he was so responsive and friendly. We had a slightly nonstandard order of songs for the reception (we kicked things off with a hava nagila, with no real "first dance," etc.), and he was totally game to work with our plan.

On the day of, Kevin was gracious and flexible when dinner ran a little late and was able to wrap things up beautifully when our many east coast guests started to get sleepy. Most importantly, though, it was a great party, and friends of ours that we never expected to see on the dance floor were out there having fun. We had a bunch of weird requests, and Kevin was a total pro with all of them... Not everyone can make "Age of Consent" fit as a wedding reception song, but, somehow, he totally pulled it off. There was an impromptu soul train, a twist contest, and everybody went home tired and happy -- we danced all night!

Kevin from Disco Royale was so amazing! He met with us in person to chat and then was in constant e-mail contact. We got married on an island, so he was really flexible with bringing all of the supplies across the ferry. At the wedding he played all of the songs I had asked for and did a great job MC-ing. His extra song selections were all perfect for the crowd, people were dancing like crazy all night long! He was sick and yet still seemed high energy. Overall, I felt really cared for and would recommend this company to anyone! You also get a lot of 'bang for your buck', he was more affordable than some other DJs- and provided his own uplighting which was a great touch to the venue! Wonderful experience.

We met with a few other DJs first who just seemed really arrogant and expensive, but yet had very generic playlists and didnt seem to know much about music. Kevin from Disco Royale was a breath of fresh air and we were very relieved that we found him! From our first correspondence with him we knew that he was very professional and would be great to work with. He was very interested to hear about the types of music we liked and the vibe that we wanted for our big day. My fiance is really into a lot of different types of music and Kevin was very familiar with all of the names that my fiance threw at him and had a good sense of exactly what we were looking for. He definitely knows his stuff!
Kevin was also very prompt to respond to any emails I sent with questions or concerns. He sent song suggestions and had ideas for how to have ceremony and reception flow smoothly. He played all of the songs that we requested at some point throughout the night, and he had all of the right versions that we had requested. He made any announcements that we asked him to, but did so in a perfectly unobtrusive and professional manner. Kevin is very personable, easy-going, fun, and cool, and has a great attitude!
The dance floor was packed for most of the night and Kevin was extremely flexible and threw in a second "last" song since the groom missed the original last song. My only regret is that I was too busy running around for the first part of the evening to be able to truly enjoy the music and atmosphere that Kevin helped to create. But he has generously offered to create us a wedding CD with all of the songs on it from the day so we can relive it! It was a lovely event and we are extremely grateful that we had Kevin be a part of it!

DJ Kevin was absolutely in sync with the party. He is friendly, professional, and rather a dapper fellow, in person. We really enjoyed meeting him personally beforehand, and he geeked out over music with my fiancé. His music selections were thoughtfully organized, to help "prompt" folks who needed a little help finding the right direction. But truly, Kevin's genius lies in the party itself. I have never seen so many people beeline to the dance floor.
He found our totally obscure processional song (1800s northern swedish composer) without blinking. My husband is *still* talking about the version Virgina Plain (Roxy Music) Kevin played while everyone was on the dance floor. In chatting with folks about our wedding, everyone has brought up the "great music".
Kevin's skill to bring groups together was just awesome. Everyone was so comfortable and happy with the music, which can be hard to accomplish when you consider the actual lyrics of many popular dance songs.
Kevin ranks an A+ in our book, and if we ever have the pleasure of hosting another large event, he is our "go-to" man, hands down.
We can't recommend him highly enough.

Kevin with Disco Royale was professional and very accommodating during my wedding at the Seattle Yacht Club. We were pleased with his services and would definitely recommend him for weddings, parties, and other events. He is dependable and works really hard to satisfy his client. When we met with Kevin, we were immediately drawn to his easy going personality and knowledge of music! He instantly understood the vibe we wanted for our wedding - a party! He was flexible to the space and made sure he had all the equipment to provide music for our cocktail hour (which was in an alley behind the venue) all the way through dinner and throughout the evening to keep people dancing until late at night! We gave him a list of songs and artists we liked and he filled in the holes to provide music throughout the entire night. We had several compliments from our guests on the music and would recommend him to anyone!

Kevin from Disco Royale was great! My husband and I are both full time students and so we were trying to do our wedding on a budget, Kevin worked with our budget and gave us a great deal. He did above and beyond in helping to make our day perfect. He even edited our favorite songs so that we could use them in our ceremony to make it even more personal. Our wedding was intimate and casual, but Kevin put all his efforts in and helped make it a day we will never forget. Since our wedding was non-traditional there were a lot of things we wanted done differently, Kevin took everything we wanted and the outcome was perfect, we couldn't have asked for better. As we were planning our wedding from across the state, Kevin kept in touch and made sure everything was taken care of before the big day.
Having Disco Royale at your event is a decision you will not regret, we sure didn't!

Kevin is so awesome! He did both the sound for our ceremony and DJ-ed our reception. I've been working with Kevin for over 10 years on a variety of parties so when it came time for my partner and I to get married there was really no question that Kevin would be a big part of making our wedding special. And true to form, Kevin was absolutely incredible at our wedding.

But the planning stage was super fun too. We talked about what kind of vibe we wanted, we talked about music that we liked in general... Truth be told we only gave Kevin a rough idea of the type of music we wanted during different parts of the event and he just rolled with it. That's because he doesn't need everything figured out ahead of time, just a sense of what you're looking for. Then he reads the room and plays stuff that he thinks people will jam on and they always do! That leaves room for fun surprises, like songs you haven't heard in a zillion years but love.

And he's got lights too to go with the huge music library!

If we could have we all would have danced all night long. And Kevin would have been right there leading the way. So much fun!

Kevin (Disco Royale) was the DJ at our Studio 54 Disco Anniversary Party this past September. I can just tell you that the whole experience went very, very well. Kevin and I sat down a few weeks before the party to discuss our philosophy on music - likes, don't likes, etc - and he gave me tons of autonomy when it came to selecting a playlist. In the end, I was comfortable enough with his knowledge of music, and my desires, that I let him roll whatever he felt would match the party. Boy, did he. We rocked for about four hours of straight disco, and the floor was hopping the whole time. Great party, and I was relieved that I had hired the right guy to keep the room entertained. Thanks, very much, Kevin. You were great!

Kevin was extremely well rounded! He was incredibly accommodating in helping us on short notice after our other DJ fell through. He worked with our budget, and even put extra effort in to edit our first dance songs. Kevin (Disco Royale) was highly recommended to us by a friend and we were thrilled with his service. Kevin went out of his way to meet with us in person, understand our musical tastes and get a sense of the kind of wedding we wanted to have. He was highly organized and flexible with structuring the contract. He was willing to work with our timeline and our budget, and even put in some extra time that wasn't specified in the contract. Kevin kept to our music suggestions but he was also able to read the crowd and keep the party going on the dance floor. There was never a lull in participation. He's also versatile and did some impromptu emceeing that helped our wedding reception move smoothly. For the Seattle area, Kevin's rates are very affordable and given his high level of service, his rates are actually a steal.

Kevin is wonderful! I am so glad he was part of our wedding! After first meeting him, it was a no-brainer for us to book him. We had him at both our ceremony and reception (2 different venues, reception right after the ceremony), and he and his assistant handled the 2 different venues marvelously. The sound was excellent - for our ceremony, we were in a wide open park next to a busy road and no one had any trouble hearing it. The sound and lighting at our reception was also great - I'm particularly glad we had him do dance floor lighting. Kevin seemed to have a really good sense of the crowd - our dance floor was packed all evening! (and we thought we had a reserved, mostly non-dancing crowd!)

During the planning process, Kevin had no problems finding the special songs we wanted, and gave us very helpful advice. He went above and beyond in a number of ways, and we received a number of compliments on what a great job he did.

Lastly, Kevin was the perfect MC for the night. He was able to be informative, yet unobtrusive, which was exactly what we were hoping for. There were several announcements we wanted him to make throughout the evening, and he made them all as we'd requested.

Bottom line - if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or special event, call Kevin! I can't recommend him enough!

Kevin at Disco Royale recently provided sound reinforcement for our wedding ceremony and DJ services for our reception. Kevin was a great MC - he kept everything rolling smoothly, but what was most appreciated was his ability to read the crowd. He kept everyone dancing non stop for our whole event. Kevin was a great addition to our wedding. We were pretty picky about music and he worked with us through several in person meetings as well as emails. The songs we wanted that he didn't have he downloaded for us ahead of time. Pricing was very reasonable. After the wedding, he even provided us with a CD with the MP3s of all the songs played at the wedding - a nice touch.

I would give Kevin 6 stars in all these categories if I could. To start, our goal was to find a cool, friendly DJ who would help us throw a great party. No chicken dance for us, no cheesy "emcee cracking inappropriate jokes" kind of situation- just great music for a great celebration. We also wanted a good value. Kevin was ALL of those and more.

From our first phone conversation I was impressed by his background and knowledge of all the technology, and I never worried for a second that he wouldn't have a song we wanted. He met with my husband-to-be when we were in town (planned our wedding from 3000 miles away) and we knew we had struck gold.

A few specific points of praise: he was very enthusiastic about helping us create our own special vibe, like introducing us to the Star Wars theme song and playing the Star Wars Cantina music during our cocktail hour, and incorporating the many song requests that we had put together. He also was very careful with the volume, as my parents were pretty sensitive about the volume level and complain that most DJ's are way too loud. My dad- multiple times during the reception- commented on what a great job Kevin did and commended him at the end of the night. Kevin was also fantastic at working within my budget. I wanted to add some lighting and he had a lot of great ideas to make our budget go a long way.

My friends and family loved the personal touches that he had incorporated for Robert and I- like playing the Cantina music throughout our dinner, we got a lot of fun feedback about that- and appreciated him accommodating their song requests throughout the evening.

He is a true gem in the wedding music industry, and I would recommend him to anyone who wants personal service, a knowledgeable and professional DJ and of course a fantastic celebration.

Kevin was absolutely incredible at our wedding: I saw the rave reviews on this site & instantly knew that he was the DJ for us.

Not only was Kevin incredible AT the wedding (I'll get to that in a bit!) He was also incredible beforehand! We met for coffee & chatted about what we'd like: He showed us examples of the playlists he had made for other couples & checked in to see what kinds of "extras" we were interested in. We had some interesting plans & he rolled with our unusual music choices without hesitation!
One thing I'm going to mention: Going far above & beyond: He edited down music for us so that the Father/Daughter dance didn't go too long. (The song was the Hokey Pokey & lasts about 4 minutes!) -- He got it down to a really fantastic length & the plan went off without a hitch.

Our theme was a black & white wedding & one of my big dreams was to have some sort of stage lighting to change the colors of everyone's outfits (think to the horse of a different color from the Wizard of Oz) -- He was immediately on the same page & helped that dream come true with a rotating color palette of LED lights (really gentle rotation: not night club-- though I'm sure it COULD be like that if you wanted!)

He had the entire crowd going the entire night-- And, again, was extremely flexible as the night progressed: There ended up being a more set-dinner time (where I wasn't expecting one-- and the guests ALL decided to eat!), he catered to the photographer's events (photobooth downstairs), and even provided us with microphones for musicians, toasts, & other surprises!

We had a couple of things: like an Irish Dance flash mob that he coordinated with my Matron of Honor, Guided an extremely successful anniversary dance, and took on the fly direction from me when I remembered (very last minute!) that I needed things to be added/etc.

One of the most amazing shows of character with Kevin, though, was before the ceremony: We had planned to have the guys walk onto the stage to "Hang on Little Tomato - Pink Martini", and the file ended up being corrupt. Immediately seeing the problem, he checked in with me, checked in with the groom, & worked out the solution to playing "Little Green Bag" (one of our absolute favorite songs) -- I almost gave away my hiding spot: I laughed out loud at the surprise!

One last thing-- We had planned for toasts to be "on the fly" by family members (if they wanted to) throughout the evening. Kevin saw that it was starting to get late & set out the microphone for toasts. He definitely knows how to get everything into the time allotted & give the visual & audio cues that are necessary to keep the party going.

I could go on forever gushing about the preparation & the actual event that Kevin created for us: But I'm going to end it here (before I go on with a play-by-play of the evening!) with a simple Thank You to Kevin: And we are absolutely recommending you to every friend who has a DJ need--whether wedding or anything else!

I was very impressed with Kevin from the moment he responded to my email. He was able to meet with me that same week. He blew me away when he offered to meet me, instead of me driving out of my way to meet him. Kevin sold me on his experience, his professionalism, and the fact that he said he was a perfectionist. He was flexible on his price and since he had dj'd at my venue before, put me at ease with the timing and set-up of my event. We met one more time to go over all of the music and made sure we had all of the details were covered. Kevin let me make last minute music changes up until the day of my wedding. The ceremony music was great and was timed perfectly. Kevin even came up with a back-up plan for the rain that happened during the cocktail hour. He played the list of music that I provided, as well as took requests and added songs as they fit for certain moments. Our wedding ended at mid-night. Kevin kept the dance floor full and the dance party going. I would highly recommend Kevin for any event. You would be lucky to have him!

Kevin was fantastic! We had a pretty diverse crowd (age, ethnicity) and everyone had a great time. He played all the songs we asked for and played them in a way that kept the dance floor full the entire night. In fact, it's been a month since the wedding and we still get great comments on how much fun people had at the reception. Finally, Kevin did a wonderful job of managing the toast time (something I was worried about). He made people feel welcome to participate without adding the "cheese factor." Kevin did a fantastic job with the music at our wedding. Not only did he play perfect and appropriate tracks for the moment (jazz and standards during the meal and lots of good dance variety for the dancing) he was a well-spoken, polite and entertaining MC without being over the top with talk. Kevin was just great! He was the DJ at our wedding reception and did a FABULOUS job! During dinner, he played a lot of beautiful songs that I definitely recognized - they weren't too old-school and weren't too trendy or tacky. He played all of the songs we requested when we requested them to be played. He played tasteful music when the older crowd was still around, and songs for our friends in our 20s once the older crowd went to bed. Everyone was out dancing the entire night on the dance floor. Everyone had an amazing time, and it didn't end till the cut-off time with the venue!! I would definitely recommend him to friends and family!

Kevin from Disco Royale was amazing! He completely exceeded our expectations as a DJ and MC for our wedding. He paid close attention to details, took careful note of our preferences, and knew exactly how to read the crowd. We were initially drawn to Disco Royale because the price was much more reasonable than most of the other DJ's we'd looked into, so we were extra excited that he was able to help make the best day of our lives even better. We received SO many compliments from friends and family about the wedding music and professionalism of the DJ that we would HIGHLY recommend Disco Royale to anyone planning to have a fun wedding.

What can we say about Kevin Olson and Disco Royale that hasn't already been said? After meeting with other local area DJ's we were beginning to lose faith in the profession...and then we met Kevin. From our initial meeting to the post-wedding follow-up thank you, Kevin was extremely professional, sincere, and upbeat. During the process he catered to our every musical whim, responded to the bride's multiple frantic emails desperately seeking advise and guidance, and went the extra mile to find the bride's song sans lyrics - making the bride's dream come true. In a nutshell, the man is amazing, knowledgeable and easy going. He had nothing but patience for this procrastinating couple. If we weren't in love we would totally use him for our second weddings! We would totally recommend him for any occasion. Kevin - you rock!

Kevin was great! He had everyone at our wedding dancing. He's super organzied when getting an idea of what type of music you'd like played at an event. It was so nice working with him because I didn't have to worry about a single thing. He found all the songs we requested and then some. He knows music and spun a great mix. The only regret I heard from wedding guests is that they wished they could have taken him to the after party.

Kevin was great! He had every song we requested and was really helpful in suggesting songs by learning from us what kinds of music we like. My (now) husband and I have very different tastes in music and he kept us both happy AND kept the flow of the reception feeling organic. He was also an EXCELLENT Emcee. He was able to direct the evening without our guests feeling bossed around! Ke kept up with the schedule for us. In planning he was great! He had a lot of "forms" that helped us think through how the evening would progress and what kinds of music we wanted. I have had nothing but positive comments from our guests about him! I absolutely recommend Kevin/Disco Royale for any event and will use him again in the future if I have another opportunity to plan a party.

Hello brides and grooms! If you're looking for an awesome DJ, Disco Royale and Kevin Olson is the way to go! I just got married three weeks ago, and my husband and I were more than impressed with Kevin's professionalism, skills (he was our DJ and our MC) and style. It was a pleasure working with him! Kevin did a great job at our wedding last weekend as our DJ. From the beginning he has been professional and has listened to our requests while offering great suggestions. On the day of the wedding Kevin also helped make things smoothly by being a great emcee (also helped us by asking questions we either didn't think of or forgot about prior to the wedding), and was on top of any last minute requests and schedule changes. Towards the end of the night Kevin was having some serious competition with the beautiful weather at our outdoor venue but he reeled people back in with the music. I'm so happy our wedding ended with a dance party.

Kevin's prices are extremely reasonable and competitive with other DJs I researched while wedding planning. Kevin has always been nothing but professional, flexible and accommodating, and even mixed tracks to get the perfect music for special songs. My husband and I would highly recommend Kevin for your event.

We are so happy we hired Kevin at Disco Royale. We planned our wedding while living abroad, so we had to do a small handful of phone/Skype interviews and just trust our feelings about vendors based on reviews.
Here's what we liked: He was very personable, friendly, professional and responsive to emails. We actually didn't even meet him until he showed up at the wedding. He also took over as DJ after we had a little band play through cocktails into dinner and he seamlessly handled the transition. My husband and I left early from the wedding, but my guests stayed until midnight all dancing away with the great music. They said nothing but good things about the music.

We kept the whole affair very low key and didn't have a lot planned with the DJ, we really just wanted someone to play great music and any special requests. It's the DJs job to pick the music, not ours, right? For the Father/Daughter dance, we literally just asked him to select some great salsa dance tunes; dad and I shook it on the dance floor, totally unrehearsed and having a ball. Same for the bouquet toss and cake cutting. He had asked for the types and genres of music we like and was spot on with a great sound. He is, of course, happy to play whatever you request, but we only had one specific song request which he played at a great time and was a big hit. He also didn’t use the mic for anything other than pre-determined announcements and didn’t ever say anything cheesy on the microphone. He was also super flexible when we changed a few things at the last minute during the party (such as moving the cake cutting up by an hour). I really trusted my vendors to do their jobs and do them well. Disco Royale did not disappoint.

Kevin was more on the pricey side, but he was the best there was for the cost that you could guarantee who your DJ would be - I was a nervous about having an agency assign a DJ for me. I needed someone who would be personally responsive to my requests from the very beginning (even if we didn't have many). Plus, Disco Royale played a lot of cool, non-standard songs, which we was really interested in. Some of the other DJ seemed a bit generic.

Overall, a great experience with Disco Royale, I’m very happy to write a positive review for them.

Disco Royale is highly recommended!

Kevin Olson (of Disco Royale) demonstrated a sincere professionalism and interest in our wedding being great.

His communication was ideally responsive to us and our enitre wedding planner operation. He was willing to work with the officiant and videographer and provide a sound set-up that made their jobs easier.

Quality of service is not rated a perfect score due to a very minor early start of the music for the processional. This did not 'ruin' anything or distract us from the magnificence of the day.

Value is not rated a perfect score only for the fact that there are cheaper DJ's available, however of dubious quality. Disco Royale's price was worth what we paid considering the extra attention and communication we had before the event.

Disco Royale is highly recommended!

Kevin was both the DJ and the emcee at our wedding. It was obvious from his professionalism as well as his knack for always picking the appropriate music that he knows what he is doing!! A huge part of the success of our wedding came from the great timing of his emceeing as well.
When we first met him, he brought along an introductory package with some paperwork for us to fill out. Talk about thorough! With pages of music genres and some fill in the blanks, Kevin walks you through the process of picking music and makes the experience enjoyable and easy. Even if you don't know what kind of music you want, Kevin will create a perfect ambiance for every step of your wedding from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to speeches to dancing! Thank you Kevin for helping to create such a great day for us!

Kevin was the DJ for our wedding back in May! He was very professional, he worked with our budget and provided plenty of entertainment for our guests! If we ever needed a DJ again, we would definitely give him a call!

For the most part Disco Royale was good. The dj followed our playlist for the most part and brought appropriate lighting for our venue.
But... when it came to the most important songs (our first dance, father/daughter dance, and mother/son dance) our dj FORGOT to cut the music! ON ALL THREE SONGS!!! I had specifically asked each song to be faded at a certain time because they were all too long. At one point I had to stop dancing and physically nod for him to cut the song. In our e-mail communications I was told it wouldn't be a problem. I even offered to fade the songs myself.
My husband and I felt our dj was not very lively or interactive. He did not try to get people involved and he was not as upbeat as we would have hoped.
I do have to say that Disco Royale is a pretty decent value for the price. He was very flexible and worked to find a rate I was comfortable with. His communication and flexibility were great. Plus he worked to find us the perfect processional song which we greatly appreciated. We could've overlooked the lack of liveliness if he had only remembered to cut our songs.

Kevin was referred to me by another couple I trusted who had hired him for their wedding - unfortunately, Kevin did not deliver for my wedding. He showed up late and my husband (and some groomsmen) had to rush to help him set-up his equipment. He missed quite a few of the verbal cues he was responsible for (announcing that champagne was available at the beverage table, announcing that the toasts were to begin, etc.). He did announce that we were beginning the buffet but then didn't release the tables as he had said he would in our contract so people were very confused as to when to get up eventually causing a very long line of hungry people. He chose to wear a Hawaiian shirt...I realize this is a celebration but it's not a party, it wasn't an informal wedding and a few guests commented on his lack of professional attire. He played the song we requested as our last song of the night randomly during the middle of the reception - a song that is traditionally played as the last song at all of the weddings in our group of friends...it has significance so it was sad to see that he decided to go against our requests. Annnnd...the biggest and honestly most hurtful part of the wedding - he announced us for our first dance and called me by the WRONG NAME. Everyone gasped and it was honestly pretty humiliating to be called a different name when I'm being announced to have my first dance with my new husband. Overall, I would not recommend his services and I would definitely advise brides to think twice before booking him - he was by far the vendor that I was most disappointed in at my wedding. Feel free to read my other reviews, I loved my other vendors...it's sad that his mistakes took away from our day.
