Randy at Dezember Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with for both our engagement photos and our wedding day. From the start, he made both experiences feel relaxed and low-pressure, and he truly listened to our concerns and what we wanted.
For our engagement photos, we were only expecting one location, but Randy went above and beyond and drove us up Little Cottonwood Canyon, where he captured some absolutely amazing shots. His eye for location and lighting really shows in the final photos.

Photobooth at our Wedding
We had the photo booth at our wedding, and it was an absolute hit! Our guests had so much fun taking turns posing with friends and loved ones, and they loved being able to take home printed photos right away. It added such a fun and memorable touch to our day. Great Photographer!
Randy did a great job at my son‘s wedding. He was at the ceremony and at the reception the whole time actively engaging with people, taking photos and paying attention to every detail. My wife and I were able to just enjoy the wedding and the reception, we weren’t worried about taking our own photos because we knew Randy was capturing everything. He was also very accommodating of requests for groupings. My dad asked if we could do a 3 generation shot and Randy even snapped one with my dad’s phone for him so he’s have it before the flight home. We never felt like we needed to do our own picture taking as well.Randy did a lot of group photos and a lot of photos of just the guests interacting with each other and having a great time. I highly recommend Randy He was very good to work with, he was polite, knowledgeable, efficient, and professional .

Dezember Photography- Cathedral of the Madeleine Wedding
Randy was the photographer for my son’s wedding at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, then their reception later that evening. The first thing I noticed about Randy was his attention to detail. He quietly moved in and helped get the groom’s line boutonnières pinned and my husband’s errant tie straightened. He moved discreetly and unobtrusively throughout the Cathedral to take pictures throughout the ceremony. The church allots 20 minutes after the ceremony to get pictures inside, Randy moved quickly and efficiently to get the maximum number of photos in the time we had. He was so good that he asked if there were any other groupings we needed. He was everywhere at the reception, taking pictures throughout. He moved quickly and discreetly to position himself for the best shots. He had talked with the bride and groom ahead of time to go over details about things like where they would end their dance so he could be positioned for the dip. I would easily recommend him as a photographer.

Above and Beyond in Every Way
As a Texas girl planning an out-of-state wedding in Utah, I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Randy. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond—taking the time to brainstorm with me about timing, including how long winter receptions in Utah should last since the sunlight fades so much earlier. He also captured our engagement photos before we even headed to Idaho this summer and made the entire experience so much fun. He was open, excited, and totally willing to be silly with us, which made the photos feel so genuine and us.
On the wedding day, Randy was incredibly adaptable when plans shifted, and I appreciated how he always touched base with me before directing photos. He made sure no one was missed and that everything felt smooth and stress-free. Beyond his talent, his personality truly stood out—he made everyone feel comfortable and included.
My brother couldn’t stop talking about how fun Randy was and even said he wants him to photograph his wedding someday. That alone says so much. I’m beyond grateful for Randy and would recommend him a thousand times over to anyone looking for an amazing photographer and an even better experience.

Dezember photography was recommended to us by a friend who had used them for their wedding. Randy was incredibly personable and easy to work with. He was prompt with his communication, clear, and always professional. He always knew what he wanted from locations and photos while still being willing to take suggestions or extra pictures that we wanted. He knew all of the places to go both around town and at the venue to get amazing pictures. He was fantastic during the event, getting pictures of the action without getting in the way. He also took some pictures with my grandmother's camera during family photos without being asked, which he absolutely did not need to do. Going through our photos after the wedding was so fun. He did an amazing job of getting posed pictures, pictures of big moments, and fun pictures from the reception. The pictures were wonderful, all of the interactions were great, and Randy was super personable. It is clear every couple and every event are equally important. Even months after our wedding we ran in to Randy around town and he made sure to talk to us and ask us how the honeymoon went and how everything was. Dezember photography was definitely the best vendor we hired and we would book them again in a heart beat.

Randy at Dezember Photography is incredible to work with! He's professional but fun, taking the stress out of getting pictures taken. Our engagements and wedding photos were all SO good, we had a really hard time choosing which ones to print. Randy's got a great eye to get the best pictures for every picture. The turnaround time to get our pictures back was super fast too. We've heard of it taking months to get pictures back from some photographers, but not Randy. No more than a couple weeks to view the online gallery. We enjoyed working with him so much for our wedding that now we see him every year for our family photos!

We are so glad we found and hired Randy as our wedding photographer. It was easy and smooth to communicate with him about what we want and look for. 6 weeks prior to the wedding, Randy took us to a spot along big cottonwood canyon where we shot many photos of us on the snow with and without skis; on the wedding day, Randy and Doug captured important moments from the beginning to the end . A few photos we picked from our wedding day and earlier "engagement session" are hanging on our wall at home that they really help us relive the awesome and monumental experience we had!

Professional, personable, creative and great with all ages.
We held a small and intimate event in the mountains prior to family moving. Our photographer arrived not only in timely manner, but prepared with all the equipment and additional staging. We had a beautiful event he captured with his photos. He easily engaged the entire family whatever the age, he made the young children feel cool. He had all of us laughing. He created authentic and personable pictures. Some were sad because they were moving and that is why we changed how this union would take place. But he was able to get some smiles and happiness by the end. Most important, that was the authentic emotions and he didn’t try too hard to change them. We want those natural feelings. It’s too easy to make everything perfect when some things are not as easy. They are happy children. Just accepting change.
I really like a photographer that feels the emotions of the group. There isn’t a venue, decorations, clothing, or anything we add to events that can capture a moment like true, honest and transparent photography can do.
I’m so thankful this group of photographers met our need for short notice. I would never expect that if it wasn’t a good reason.
I’m thankful for not just having our pictures taken to validate our event. But for the EXPERIENCE we received.
I am grateful for the timely manner in which we received our prints in email format so we could select our pictures. It was very hard since we had so many good pictures.
I’m thankful for the impressionable experience. For the small actions he took that made each person laugh, feel special, or that he cared they looked right.

Picture is worth a thousand words. Photos are the most important expense in a wedding. The decor, venue, food, etc will fade in a memory. But flowers and photography leave the impressions.

Great with kids
Randy did the photos for my daughter’s wedding. I was so impressed with how calm he was, how great he was with kids and how much time he spent to get just the right pictures that I wanted to use him to take our pictures. Again, he was so patient with the kids and so personable with all of us it was like having an old friend take our pictures. Randy was the photographer at my friend Brody’s wedding and I was super impressed by watching Randy work! He was professional and friendly and we even got the chance to use his Photo Booth and had a great time. Randy also recently did siblings photos of our kids and the results were amazing and we cried like babies looking at the pics. Just do it, hire Randy. We are so glad we did. He was on top of everything; and captured all the fun and precious moments. Many of our guests even commented about his level of excellence. He partnered with the DJ to make sure timing was right. We also had the photo booth, and asked guests to past the photos in our sign in book when added a unique element.

Bride is happy, so father of the bride is ecstatic
As the father of the beautiful bride I wanted to give her the best photographer we could afford without busting my wallet. And I have to say her photographer was worth EVERY penny. I didn't really think about it ahead of time, but the photographer was the main person in charge of basically the entire day. They arrived at our home before the ceremony for photos as she was getting ready, we did a "first look" with me seeing my beautiful daughter in her dress for the first time (and I won't confirm or deny that I cried a little), they were our main contact and coordinator basically the entire day all the way up to coordinating all of the guest outside for the sparkler send off. The entire day would have been different without their knowledge, expertise, and fun personalities (both the photographer and videographer). Well worth the cost and my daughter is happy too so that's what really matters!

So we were very nervous about our engagement photoshoot, but Randy made is so easy and super fun and the photos turned out beautiful.And on our wedding day it rained cats and dogs and Randy and team put in all their efforts to make it beautiful.
So Randy has his own vision he knows to click picture form where and how and trust me it turns out beautiful than you had thought.
We booked our wedding prior to pandemic and we had to change the dates couple of times and Dezember photography team where very flexible and accommodating. We recommend them 100 percent!!

Dream come true!
I don't even know how to put into words how incredible Randy has been! Starting with our engagements and ending with the final photos from our wedding day!
Short version: (for those you who don't want to listen to me go on and on and on) Randy was consistent and very communicative. He made us comfortable and calm through the entire process. The price seemed a little on the high side when we first started looking, but when we compared what his package offered verse what photographers that were slightly less offered, there was no choice! Our engagement photos came out beautiful and we got endless compliments on them from our invitations. The day of the wedding, he was the first vendor to arrive and helped in every way you could think of. He not only documented the event, but he also practically ran it. When the day comes that someone asks me to recommend a photographer, I will beg them to choose Dezember photography, because our wedding would, without a doubt, have been more stressful and less special without Randy!
Longer version: We reached out to a few photographers and within a few days had heard back from most. From the ones we heard back from he was by far the most professional and the only one who brought up the "Covid Factor" and made us feel comfortable. We set a time and he came up with the place (because we were hopeless and hadn't even thought of location) for our engagements during our first conversation with him. We met him up at Big Cottonwood Canyon towards the end of fall and I (the bride) immediately felt comfortable with him. I'm an anxious person and had kind of over prepared. I told him I had an extra outfit and had a hat that I wanted to wear but was worried it would be too much. He immediately was like, "You two look amazing! I love the look you have on, but if you want to change at some point, that's no problem! Also, you rock that hat, but we will take it off periodically, so you have options." We also brought our cat, because I was well on my way to becoming a crazy cat lady until I met my husband! (*In fact, my cat just crawled onto my lap.... I think she knew I was talking about her!) Randy was totally supportive and raved about how beautiful she is, which of course I already know ;), but always love to hear. At the end of the day, he was very patient and understanding as I ranted about my concerns with some of our more complicated family dynamics and he did a great job putting my mind at ease and suggesting some ideas to honor my late mother.
On the wedding day, where my dad may have been my rock, Randy was my MVP. The two of them hit it off right away and between the two of them, dealt with every single detail. Both communicating with the venue staff about scheduling and with each other about what they knew we wanted and what was important to us. Randy was so attentive he even mentioned to my makeup artist to make sure to cover up the zit that was barely noticeable on my chest and I was too embarrassed to ask for! As the day went on, he was the first person I turned to with every question I had, and he always had the answer. When the reception began, even though the venue staff did a great job, he basically ran the event. He told them when it was time to do the toasts and cut the cake. He even herded the guests out front when it was time to do the farewell.
In the end he got every possible shot I could have asked for and made us both feel like we made a dear friend!

Randy was such a pleasure to work with. He was available to answer all my questions from day one. He helped me out in the beginning of my planning process by giving me recommendations for all of his favorite vendors. Flexible and fun team
My husband and I are not a typical Utah couple and it was not easy to find a photography studio that could break out of the box. We were so lucky to find Dezember, where the team was willing and able to customize a photography package that met our unique needs. The studio's flexibility became even more valuable when Covid-19 turned our plans upside down and we needed to reconfigure our event and photography needs. We had a blast with owner-photographer Randy and were grateful for his fun, relaxed attitude, which made for great pictures. And don't underestimate the quiet Doug, whose camera and drone captured everything for an excellent wedding video.

I first came in contact with Dezember Photography about three years ago at a bridal expo where I was attending as a bridesmaid. I was really impressed with their booth and the photographs they displayed. Because of that experience and their incredible value, picking this studio to shoot my own wedding was a no-brainer. Randy was the best photographer. He was super thorough with us even from the beginning to make sure everything we wanted was captured. Both my husband and I are super awkward in front of cameras, but Randy made it really easy for us to be natural, especially in our engagement and bridal photos. Exceptional Experience!
Nearly every one of our plans were forced to change for our 2020 wedding. However, the one constant was the Dezember Photography team. This team was willing to accommodate our ever-changing needs to ensure we were still able to get incredible photos at our wedding. Everyone we worked with was thoughtful, patient, wonderfully communicative, and just a joy to be around leading up to and during our wedding.
Months later, our families are still raving about how much they loved Randy and the quality of photos we received.

Seriously Amazing!
Randy and his team were so responsive through the entire planning process and very communicative. We had an unconventional wedding (to say the least) in a desolate location but Randy was up for the challenge - no questions asked. His work is seriously amazing! The photos are everything we hoped for and more. We are so happy that we hired Dezember to document our special day.

Excellent! Took great pride in their work
Randy was awesome, super professional, and easy to work with. Our wedding was in a remote location and far from traditional, he jumped at the chance to do something different. Highly recommend!!

The entire process with Dezember was a breeze! We knew from our initial meeting that Randy would make our wedding day so easy and he delivered! We were nervous for our engagement session and Randy put us at ease right away and got the best natural photos of us. Our wedding family photos could have gone chaotic but Randy expertly gathered our huge family and captured every photo we could imagine in record time! We received over 1000(!) photos and love each one! Thank you Dezember Photo!!

We LOVE Dezember Photography!
Being a destination wedding (we live in NYC) we researched a ton and read hundreds of reviews and we are SOOO glad we decided to go with Dezember! They took a huge weight off of our shoulders and made the entire planning process so much easier than it was before we found them. We did both photography and videography through them and couldn’t be happier!!

Hands down our best vendor!
Randy and the Dezember Photography team are some of the best people I've ever worked with. Randy did our engagements as well, so I knew going in that he would have a good idea of what we wanted captured on our day! He didn't disappoint. Getting married in 2020 was definitely challenging and nothing really went as planned, but having Randy and his team by our side made everything so much easier. They went above and beyond when plans changed to make sure we were on the right track and still getting what we wanted. They were hands down our best vendor and I am so grateful they were part of our day! Our pictures and our video turned out beautifully!

Dezember was a team to REMEMBER! Randy was the absolute best! He felt like family. He knew what photos what wanted to take & made sure we got them done in a timely manner. He knew how to move people around to get ready for the next set of group photos. We really had a blast!!! I told my husband that all I wanted was amazing photos to look back on our special day and Randy did not let us down what so ever! He was absolutely amazing and Everyone commented on how he made it fun yet organized while doing photos after the ceremony and was just amazing all around. During the reception he captured every moment of all our guest and the party and even joined in on the fun! We will definitely recommend and we found our forever photographer!

Dezember photo has such a talented team! They are all professional, talented, flexible, and friendly! They captured my wedding day so beautifully. Also, so much is included with the package as you get prints to display at your wedding and you get a flash drive of all your photos after to have forever. I did some research of other photographers in the Salt Lake area and Dezember offers a fair price plus so many more bonuses. So happy I chose them!

Not a worry!
We went with Dezember Photography, because it was one of the top 2 recommended photographers in the Salt Lake area. This was our first daughter’s wedding, and we wanted everything to be perfect. Stacy was our photographer for both the Bridal shoot, and the day of the wedding. The Bridal shoot was AMAZING! She took the time to ask questions, in great detail about the wedding, venue, theme, and wanted pictures of her dress so she could choose the right location to capture the grace, beauty, and feel my daughter was hoping for. The day of the wedding was extraordinary, with Stacey there every step of the way. She did not monopolize the time with too many Formal photos, it was just perfect! The detail and moments that were caught of our family, friends, and my daughter with her new husband are truly memorable. We received gorgeous canvas portraits, canvas photos, and a thumb drive with every picture taken well over 1000 and an amazing wedding album that will be around for a lifetime. The personal detail with the editing, and meetings with Austyn have been wonderful. I have 1 more daughter, that will soon be getting married, and we are using Dezember and Stacy again without a hesitation! Thank you for making our daughter’s wedding pictures priceless!

I would highly recommend!
Dezember was awesome to work with! We have so many amazing pictures from our wedding, we love them and so do our families. Randy did our engagements and wedding photos and was able to get every shot we asked for. He kept our wedding day running very smoothly which we so appreciated. I really like how they allow you to switch out things in your package. For example, we did not want to do bridals or a first look shoot so instead we got a photo album. They really cater to you and what you want and they're very quick with responding to emails and calls.

I would Highly Recommend working with Dezember Photography. It was an absolute blast working with Randy and his team. They are very professional and are always willing to work with you and make sure you get the pictures that you want. I usually do not have the best patience when it comes to taking a lot of pictures, but Randy was so easy to work with and always kept things fun. Randy handled both our Engagements and Wedding photos and he went above and beyond in meeting our expectations. They truly made our Wedding more special and we are so happy we have hundreds of pictures to look back on. My wife and I have nothing but GREAT things to say about Dezember Photography.

Incredible Pictures!!
Dezember Photography photographed our wedding this summer. Wow! They did an incredible job not only with our formal photos done a few weeks before the wedding, but also during our special day. Candace captured all the right moments, the mood, vibe, love, and fun that encapsulated our wedding. She helped make sure our even ran smooth and constantly communicated to ensure our needs were met. Amazing experience from the beginning to end
Dezember was so great to work with on every shoot. Randy was flexible and made life easy while with planning a wedding from out of state and they took care of every photo/video need that occurred. They allowed us to schedule photo sessions when it worked for us and our travel plans. There were so many beautiful pictures to choose from after each session! The printed pictures and canvases were absolutely stunning! The videography/photography was fantastic. They captured all of the important moments from the ceremony to the reception and were a pleasure to have around us and our guests. Everyone loved the fun photobooth and props that were provided and I loved that we received a copy of each photo strip. So happy with the decision to choose Dezember for such an important role in our wedding!

Photo Perfection
Perfect!! Randy did all the photos for our wedding and reception (over 1000 pictures). The pictures are gorgeous and he captured every possible moment. Austyn held our phone to capture the entire wedding on Facebook live for those friends and family members that weren't able to attend in person. We are absolutely thrilled with the results. We love the photo's and love the live video. With a click of a button we can relive the entire day any time we want. Professional, highest quality, friendly, and quick to deliver. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.
