  Truly a WOW wedding

  I just can't thank the private events manager, Logan, enough. She was so absolutely fantastic while planning my wedding. We chose to have it in the Interpretive Gallery/Butterfly exhibit with 100 guests. It was perfect size. The servers and bartenders were fantastic- so kind and helpful and our plated dinner went flawless! And OMG- the food is actually amazing!! We did the chicken marsala and filet- the filet is AWESOME. My guests were so ecstatic and could not stop talking about it. The zoo offered tons of napkins options. Set up for my event went flawless. They just remodeled the gallery with new bathrooms and HVAC which was also so nice. My wedding went literally perfect. Logan is amazing. Trust me, the reactions you get from people when you tell them you're having your wedding at the Detroit Zoo is worth it alone!! :)

  The Detroit Zoo was amazing at putting everything together! I couldn't be happier with the staff and how we were taken care of with every detail. Brigette was our planner and her communication, detail orientation and personality were great! Thank you for a wonderful time!

  If you are looking for an unique wedding venue, I highly recommend the Detroit Zoo. My husband and I decided to get married in under a month, and had it not been for the helpful staff at the Zoo, we wouldn't have been able to do it all. Brigette, the main coordinator, was amazing. She provided helpful tips along the way and made certain that the wedding went off without any issues. The staff was great and we received many compliments from guests about the courtesy of the staff, from the security professionals to the caterers.
  
  The venue itself is gorgeous. The ceremony was in the butterfly garden, and after showing pictures to people, they thought we went to a tropical island to get married! The reception area is classic.
  
  Lastly, the food was amazing. Again, we received several compliments about the food.

  If you are looking for an unique wedding venue, I highly recommend the Detroit Zoo. I felt like a princess. I thank everyone at the Detroit Zoo (guests and employees alike) who congratulated me along the way and especially Brigette G. (our Venue Coordinator) who worked with me from day one. She helped me plan my initial visit, to my wedding day and everything in between. Truly a miracle worker!!! :) The pictures that I have are so spectacular and amazing, I whole-hearted recommend. My reception was held inside the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery and the ceremony was held within the Butterfly garden. It was the perfect place. If you're looking for a truly magical day with amazing service, food, and an unforgettable evening, this is the venue for you. Request Brigette!!! :)

  We had our wedding inside the polar bear exhibit at the Detroit Zoo. The staff at the zoo are amazing! They helped me with soo many details for the planning and set-up. The staff had great hints for every detail of the wedding. I still receive compliments on how wonderful, fun and unique my wedding was.

  All i can say is wow. We had originally been working with a different event person, she was nice enough, but a month or so before the ceremony i attempted to make contact with her and found her email address was no longer valid...i had a little "oh no" moment. But it turned out for the best. We got to work with Ruth Muir, and i feel lucky that things worked out the way they did. She was a real professional and really went above and beyond when helping with my ceremony. When we were facing time constraints with the photos, she did not approach me with the issue, she spoke directly with the photographer. Although i was aware it was happening i was so pleased that i didn't have to deal with it!
  Thank you so much Ruth! You are a special person!

  Bridgette was incredible. We didn't know what we were doing planning our event, and she helped us immensely. The venue was beautiful, our guests loved the food and atmosphere. Any time we wanted to see the venue or bring anyone helping with the event we were able to arrange it. Once we did not remember to call ahead and had no real problem getting in. Everyone was friendly and organized. The venue really shocked/impressed our guests (I suppose that goes along with the zoo), but it was beautiful, very easy for us to navigate, and everyone was incredibly helpful with the planning which was necessary given my husband and I are both working on doctorates.

  We had our ceremony in the butterfly garden and reception in the wildlife interpretive gallery. The day of everything was perfect, beautiful, and beyond special. Keep in mind only the bride and groom can bring in closers to the butterfly noise and speakers and some lights aren't allowed. It was still worth it but I wish I was made aware of these nuances prior to booking for planning sake. Our original coordinator left in the middle of planning and was replaced by Joanna. She was very helpful and responsive but very stringent in restrictions the zoo has which was understandable but sometimes tricky. Many of our guests told us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and I biasedly agree. If you're looking for something unique, we absolutely recommend the Zoo! On a very important ending note: the food is spectacular!
