They made our tent beautiful
DesignLight made my summer wedding vision come to life. From the minute I contacted them they hopped on many calls and jumped on email chains to help me realize the look I wanted to achieve, answered my many questions and worked with my budget. They turned the outdoor tent at Granite Links into a total dream with drapery and gold light fixtures. Between the twinkle lights that are there and the Boston skyline backdrop their additions made the night magical. Our wedding planner recommended DesignLight as our lighting vendor and we couldn't have been happier with the recommendation. They worked with us on the best use of the space and where lighting should go, how bright, etc. They provided options for some beautiful lighting fixtures that worked perfectly within the space and also partnered with our florist on design and execution, which was no easy feat given time constraints and ceiling/beam heights. Stunning lighting at BPL wedding
Design Light Co did an extraordinary job with lighting for our wedding at the BPL. Due to the BPL being a public library, we were unable to start setting up for the wedding until after 5PM when the library closed - thus, our ceremony was not until 7PM (for an October wedding where the sun set at 630ish!). Even though the sky was dark, Design Light knew exactly how to light up the courtyard for the ceremony. We were equally as impressed with their work in the Guastavino room and Abbey room for dinner and dancing following the ceremony. We would absolutely recommend working with Design Light Co for your Boston area wedding!

DesignLight enhanced The Harvard Club's hall with warm amber lights for our fall wedding, perfectly coordinating the look in the historic room. Elevated our tent!
DesignLight was amazing to work with! Originally we booked them to put up bistro lights at our first venue in 2020. However, due to covid we had to rebook our 2021 venue at a new space just 50 days before the wedding. DesignLight was super quick at coming up with suggestions and lighting needs for our new tent. They installed lanterns lighting the pathway to our tent and had absolutely gorgeous chandeliers that tied our whole vibe together. They were the easiest vendor to work with!

DesignLight is great to work with and their work is top notch. During the planning process, Sandy helped us figure out a lighting plan that checked all our boxes yet stayed within our budget. She even gave us some DIY tips for a few accents that we wanted, but couldn’t afford to do through DesignLight. What’s more, when COVID forced us to push our wedding back a few months, DesignLight shifted to our new date without batting an eye. They also proactively modified our lighting plan to reflect our new much smaller guest count, which saved us a lot of money. When the big day arrived, the installers from DesignLight were professional, courteous, and did a great job of setting up while making accommodations for the other vendors that were working around the tent. Overall, we couldn’t be happier.

We loved working with DesignLight! We did projected gobo lighting for our tent, uplighting for an outdoor pavilion space, and tree / pathway lighting. They were professional and easy to work with. They also knew our venue (Museum of Science Boston) very well, so were able to make recommendations on lighting enhancements to ensure the night was perfect. We also found them to be comparatively affordable and able to work within a budget to find the options that were best for our event.

When we first contacted the DesignLight team, we didn't know anything about the different lighting options, what was a "must have" versus a "nice to have", etc. I knew from the start that I wanted bistro lights strung across the room at the reception, but beyond that it was actually quite overwhelming trying to decipher the different options and determine what was most important in creating the look and feel that we wanted at the State Room. Sandy was super helpful walking us through all of the various options, and she really understood our vision for what we wanted the room to look like. We ended up doing the bistro lights and uplighting around the room, and the finished product was STUNNING. The way the uplights changed colors throughout the night was awesome - it wasn't distracting at all but helped keep the feel of the room exciting and fresh throughout the entire reception. The bistro lights were everything I could have hoped for. The State Room has very high ceilings and we didn't want it to feel cavernous - the bistro lights were amazing in helping the room feel cozy and warm (and they look unbelievable in all of our photos from the night!). I would highly recommend the DesignLight team!

A dream ballroom

Chandeliers in a tent!
Design Light did the lighting for our daughter's wedding last August. The lighting transformed what was already a beautiful tent, into an elegant and magical space. Sandy and her staff were very professional and wonderful to work with. They also provided lighting for the walkways and property perimeter which was also extraordinary . I would use them again without hesitation.

Chandelier Brilliance!
As both the floral professional and the mother of the groom, I was fortunate to see both the vendor and client side of Design Light. They were recommended to us by The Mansion on Turner Hill . Sandy offered suggestions to illuminate the large tent taking into consideration the placement and dark colors of the flowers. She worked tirelessly guiding us and quoting our revisions.
Arriving on-site early on wedding day, I was pleased to get a chance to meet the electrical team just after they installed Design Lights' beautiful new chandelier. The final product was everything we dreamed of. I highly recommend Design Light for your lighting needs

I hired Design Light to provide lighting for my daughters wedding in October. From the beginning of planning Sandy and Meredith were responsive and helpful in the design and look desired for the tent at the reception. I surprised my daughter with chandeliers to accompany the string lights and it brought tears to her eyes when she first saw it. The staff involved in the set up were professional and pleasant to work with. I have not received official photos yet but can include a couple to give an idea of how beautiful it was.

Lighting Transformed The Room
Design Light did an amazing job at my wedding on June 30th 2018. It was hard for me to envision what lighting I wanted in the reception room on my wedding day, but they were very patient with me. I'm sure they could have handled it on their own, but knew I wanted to be involved, so they went through every color and blend they had so that I could pick my favorite. They lighting set the ambiance and mood of the room that made it look so magical. I had someone come up to me after my wedding saying that my lighting was incredible. Design Light was extremely accommodating and made the room look even more beautiful then it already looks. I wouldn't pick any other vendor for the job!

Our daughter's wedding was held at a unique venue, the JFK Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. While the Pavilion space itself is breathtaking (where the ceremony and cocktail hour were held), the Smith Ballroom (where dinner and dancing were held) is frequently used for educational purposes (lectures, corporate functions). We knew we needed an experienced, highly creative team to help us transform the ballroom into the elegant, black tie, event space we were seeking. DesignLight outdid themselves. Sandy was a pleasure to work with and met with us several times to hear our vision and talk through the options. From the draperies, to the 7 chandeliers, to the up lighting (which changed from amber during dinner to a variety of complimentary colors when dancing started), to the spot lighting, to the chupah lighting and the initials which were projected until the "I do's" and then changed to the bride and groom's monogram, to the lanterns that lined the stairway down which the bride and groom descended, each element was carefully planned and executed. I would highly recommend DesignLight whether you need expert lighting services only or you are starting with more of a blank canvas and need design strategy along with execution. You won't be disappointed!

I was lucky enough to come across Design Light while searching for chandeliers for my upcoming wedding. When I viewed their website and saw what else they were able to provide I knew I had to schedule a meeting with them right away. From our very first conversation I instantly loved their vision for draping, lighting, and even covering tent poles with fabric. I was so excited to see the final result. When I walked out to the tent the day before our wedding I was absolutely blown away with how elegant and enchanted our wedding space had become. It was even more magical than I had envisioned from our conversations. And magical is the best way to describe the final product. DesignLight installed twig balls that hung from the ceiling at the venue where I got married and they looked absolutely gorgeous! The venue itself is beautiful, but the lighting installation made the venue look magical. And, they added a special flare to all of our wedding pictures (attached). Brides - do not underestimate what lighting can do for your wedding reception. Uplighting is trendy, but you can do so much more than paint your reception one color. You can make it soft, romantic and really transform a space. DesignLight is full of talented professionals who do large scale events and elaborate projects. For the purposes of my wedding, I wanted to add bistro lighting to our reception area and it looked magical. Would highly recommend talking to them before another vendor tells you to add uplighting to a pacakge. They'll work within your budget and help create the ambiance you're going for on your wedding day.

We wanted to transform our nautical sailcloth tent into something more elegant. The crystal chandeliers and bee in voile lights we chose were perfect. Sandy and the whole DesignLight team made our wedding day come to life and I can't speak highly enough about the team there. From the start, Sandy was a joy to work with -- very prompt to respond, incredibly warm, professional, fun, accommodating, and also super detail oriented. She was always thinking 10 steps ahead regarding how our light fixtures would integrate with everything -- our venue, the band's setup, the tent layout, the florist (I wanted greens hanging from the DesignLight chandeliers). What I particularly appreciated about Sandy and the DesignLight team was how they really took the time to listen and understand what I was trying to achieve from an aesthetic perspective for my wedding. How many times have you heard... "the lighting makes the event"?! Just short of the bride and the groom themselves, it's true! Right after our first conversation with Sandy, she was over at our venue, checking out the different lighting options based on the constraints of the space, consulted with our venue coordinator and florist and then presented us with a few different options for the space. After that, we knew we needed to work with DesignLight for our wedding and they definitely did not disappoint! Sandy and the DesignLight team took the time to find exactly the correct hues of amber/gold and sent a technician to ensure the selected lights worked in the setting sun of our September evening. We got so many compliments on the lighting both in the ballroom and in the cocktail hour space and it really helped to pull the whole room together. Based on Sandy’s suggestion, we added a technician to stay throughout the reception and change the lights in the family of colors we had already selected as the songs/mood changed throughout the dancing which was a great addition. We are so happy that we worked with DesignLight and highly recommend them!

My daughter got married last May, I did not think I needed lighting. But how glad I am we picked Design Light. We heard about them through wedding wire and another website. Contacted them and another company. Sandy from Design light, got in touch with me right away. Never heard from the other company. It was for the best. We got great advise from Sandy and really the room was transformed! Sandy was very helpful and available for consultation pretty much any time. Would highly recommend Design Light!!!

Sandy and Len were an absolute delight to work with in terms of bringing my lighting visions to life! They were highly responsive and organized. We had several meetings leading up to the the wedding. The ceremony was highlighted in shades of purple uplighting, adding tremendous drama to the flowers and gorgeous architecture of the ballroom. For the reception, they did a fantastic job pin-spotting the centerpieces while introducing other shades of blues and purples in the uplighting. The lighting was perfectly complimentary to the large floral arrangements and all the stunning decor in the hotel. i was blown away walking down the aisle. it was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. I can't say enough kind things about Sandy and Len. Frankly, I wish we could do June 4th again. HOW IS IT ALREADY OVER!!!

The bride wanted fabric swaths and hanging paper lanterns as decor for her reception inside a spacious tent at Misselwood (Beverly MA). I was skeptical, but contacted DesignLight to explore the concept. Without any sales pressure, Sandy sent pictures of what the venue might look like and we eventually contracted with them. She handled the arrangements with grace and professionalism, along with suggestions in response to my questions, and I am so glad we went in this direction! The reception looked so romantic and fairy-tale like, with the lights punctuating the decor and complementing the floral arrangements - it was a truly beautiful atmosphere. They had the lighting all set up well ahead of the ceremony and took care of the dismantling afterward - we never had to worry about a thing. We simply sat back and enjoyed the results along with our admiring guests. I was amazed at the difference the decor made, and so grateful that we found DesignLight!!

DesignLight provided bee string lights and white voile fabric for the tent at Misselwood. I am so happy we chose to add lights at the last minute instead of upgrading to chiavari chairs! DesignLight could not have been more accommodating or easy to work with and are obviously on Misselwood's preferred vendor list for a reason. Our guests raved about how gorgeous the tent looked with all the lights! To top it off, DesignLight offered us the best price of 5-6 companies and even our DJ suggested we choose them.

They listened intently to our vision and created a plan for us including a custom lighting package and fabric draping to create the warm, candlelit "feeling" we were going for in our reception! They designed and lit the room to perfection. We also used them for pipe and drape in the kids reception room. They are professional, knowledgeable, and experienced! Lighting and design are so important in an event! It is something that creates a gorgeous ambiance when it's there, and people miss it when it's absent. DesignLight made our reception a beautiful, romantic place where our love could be beautifully showcased. The team at DesignLight are wonderful. They truly made our event space stand out. Sandy and the rest of the team always responded in a timely fashion to inquiries and were wonderful in helping us find a vision for the design for our wedding. Many people commented on how beautiful the lighting was. Sandy even went above and beyond, suggesting that we add an exterior lighting treatment without being charged extra, and our guests definitely noticed the difference that it made. We even had employees at our venue commenting that they wished that the lights always looked so beautiful at their events! Lighting can truly change the look and feel of an event and it was well worth the price to add DesignLight's services to our wedding.

The creative team of DesignLight came up with a plan to transform a plain dining hall into an elegant/classy space by using satin draping on the ceiling and up-lighting on the wooden columns throughout the room to give it a magical glow. Screens would be used to hide certain areas. They knew just what to do and they worked within our budget to give us just what we wanted. The day of the wedding, the production crew made it a reality. They were professional, efficient and managed to solve some last minute glitches (i.e. using extra draping to cover a picture behind the bridal table that couldn't be removed and would have been seen in every wedding picture.) Our guests were amazed at how beautifully the room had been transformed. A wonderful experience from start to finish!

Working with DesignLight was pleasure! Sandy was responsive and professional. She gave suggestions based on the look I was going for and also gave a discount based on shared services with the couple getting married at the venue the previous night which was great. We got married at the Mass Horticultural Society and the carriage house there has high ceilings and metal beams. We had lights going across the beams and also mini lanterns hanging down to look like vines as well as amber uplighting. The end result was stunning! I was so pleased with the results and would highly recommend this vendor.

I first met Len and Sandy while they were setting up another event at a venue I was visiting at the time. I was immediately attracted to their aesthetic. After I chose my wedding venue (Taj Hotel, Boston), they were my first call for lighting (they were also a preferred vendor at the Taj). I emailed with Sandy a few times, explained the look and atmosphere I wanted, and they more than delivered in their execution. I was blown away - as were all of our guests! They will work with you every step of the way and offer their consultation on different ideas that might work with your space. I never had to check in on the status of anything, they showed up to the venue early, and had everything set up hours before the start of the event. I cannot express enough how beautiful and magical the room looked! They also custom designed our monogram that projected onto the dance floor - and that was also incredibly executed. I highly, highly recommend DesignLight - they are experts at what they do! Thank you, Len and Sandy, for the work you and your team put in!

I'd give DesignLight 10 stars if I could!! My husband and I got married at the Ocean Gateway Terminal, which is beautiful, but cavernous. We brought in DesignLight to do fabric and light treatments to fill the space. The treatments were surprisingly affordable, and dramatically transformed an already beautiful venue. DesignLight are absolute professionals - they have their own equipment and trucks which meant we did not have to pay any rental fees. They worked with us to create the perfect design in our price point and all emails and phone calls received prompt responses. There were other vendors out there, and having compared pictures of my day with others, DesignLight absolutely stood out as the best! Many thanks to Sandy, Tony and the rest of the team!

Everything was perfect, both what people could see, such as the warm amber lighting and leaf patterns that camouflaged the surrounding panels during the evening reception, and what people did not notice, such as the "augmented" natural light that washed over the room during the afternoon ceremony. Len really did his magic, just as Sandy promised he would, and the result was everything and more than we could have anticipated.

I was having a tough time finding tent decor companies in Rhode Island who understood my aesthetic as well as worked in my budget but then came along DesignLight. I worked with Sandy who was beyond fantastic, friendly, and super helpful. I never felt pressure into a decision and after a few emails I knew I wanted to work with them. DesignLight worked on my wedding tent in Bristol, RI. They provided me with beautiful crystal chandeliers, fabric tent swags, my sweetheart table backdrop draping and sweetheart table spotlighting. I am still getting compliments on how beautiful the tent looked. There was this incredible amber glow the whole evening. The swags were elegant and so Gastby and the 3 chandeliers added the perfect glam touch. I would be more than happy to work with DesignLight again! When I first booked the space I wanted to find a way to make it more intimate because it was located in a big atrium within the hotel I had my wedding at. DesignLight's team knew exactly how to make the space feel more intimate by draping tons of beelights from the railings. It literally changed the room! I felt as if I was married under the stars! We hired DesignLight for our wedding reception at the New England Aquarium. We worked directly with Sandy to plan the lighting and decor and she was amazing. What can I say about DesignLight? They made my wedding look incredible. My reception was a shared vision between my ideas and the sound advice of Sandy and Len of DesignLight. Together we were able to come up with a lighting and decor plan that was both elegant and whimsical. The silk was beautiful, the lighting was warm, the natural branch chandeliers were gorgeous, and they were more than willing to work with props that I purchased myself (vintage parasols to hang above the dance floor). They are the preferred lighting/decor vendor at Elm Bank in Wellesley, but they should be the preferred vendor for every venue in MA.
