  I used Design 1 Salon on Plainfield for my bridal hair and makeup, and they did a fantastic job! I did not have a preview of the hair or the makeup, since I did not want to pay for those separately, but even without the preview, my hair dresser (Kristine) was extremely easy to work with and understood exactly what I wanted from the pictures I brought. She did an amazing job, and it held up beautifully! She even made sure that my maid of honor knew how to take the veil in and out without messing up the rest of my hair.   We used Design One in Grandville. Zoey did my hair and she was amazing! (She always is!) I was happy with my makeup; though make sure you do a trail run, because the trial run didn't look so hot. More David Bowie glam rock/Rocky Horror. But for the wedding everyone looked great. Also I wore my slippers there and they got wet in the rain, Melissa went out and got me a new set! (Thank you so much!)

All of the girls had up-do's, I had short hair so mine was just down. And the mother's left theirs down too. But everyone looked really nice. And it really helped for the pictures.

  Though I was a little disappointed in my own hairstyle, they did a great job with my bridal party's hair and accommodated all 11 of us at once on a Saturday morning (me +moms +8 bridesmaids). You can't beat that! I also got my makeup done there and it looked great!

  I had my bridal hair & makeup done at the Grandville location. My maid of honor and I had a fantastic time. I loved how each stylist was willing to listen to our ideas, and provide their own suggestions. I appreciated the attention to detail. We were both pleased with how everything turned out.

  Design 1 Salon Cascade was fantastic for my wedding party! Iona did my bridal hair and matched the picture I provided perfectly. I did a down romantic loose curl style. Jerry Kragt was absolutely amazing at doing the make up! He did a natural look that had a romantic glow!! I had many compliments. Especially about how great my eyes looked! Thanks Iona and Jerry!

  Mackenzie did my hair and Irene (both are at Design 1 in Grandville) did my make up. Both really fun and make me look perfect for our big day. I highly recommend both of them.

  I had my hair and make-up done at Design one in Kentwood. Make-up was done by Dana, she did a fabulous job. It was exactly how I wanted it! Courtney did my hair and also did an awesome job, it looked perfect! She helped me design a hair piece to match my dress and it looked absolutely amazing! I love Design one!!

  This was a wonderful place to start my daughter's wedding day. We had reserved in Feb. for August wedding so all 5 bridesmaids, bride, and 2 Moms all were able to have our hair and makeup done in a comfortable time frame. It was also good to reserve ahead because we were able to use the Solarium room for a casual breakfast area for the girls. Excellent work, very professional place. I hardly recognized myself when they had finished with me! But what a special feeling to look my best on my daughter's day.

  Everyone was so helpful and my hair and makeup turned out perfect. My bridesmaids loved their "do's" as well! They had a little room in the back so we could enjoy breakfast as we waited for everyone to get done. They did great!

  We were able to take champagne & OJ to make mimosas in the salon that morning, and they mailed me a print out of all the ladies in my wedding party, their stylists & appointment times. I was also contacted a few days before to make sure there were no changes.
  
  Be careful - if you have someone back out of having their hair or makeup done, the salon requires a 24-hour notice! If they are not given a notice (which happened in my case, I didn't know my step-MIL wasn't going to be there & she had an appt!) they will charge you for the service regardless! Otherwise, the day started off very well!

  I love Design One. Ashley is my stylist and she took the time to work on several different versions of what would become my wedding hair style. I recieved many compliments and now some of my friends go to the salon for haircuts/color. Chris applied my make-up and even though it was more that I normally wear (which is nothing), it looked amazing and turned out prefectly in my pictures. My maid of honor had her hair done and it was beautiful. The best of all- the hair styles lasted all night!

  Design One did an excellent job on both my daughters' hair for their weddings as well as all the attendants we sent there. They were easy to work with and all the ladies looked beautiful. I haven't priced many salons and I thought they were a little pricey even when a full up do was not done, but again, I haven't been to many salons. We used Design One for three weddings and were very pleased. I would highly recommend them.

  Design 1 did a great job accommodating my wedding party. Mandy did a fabulous job on my hair. I explained in a few words what I was looking for and she was able to read my mind and do my hair exactly how I had imaged it. The only reason I gave 3 stars for quality is because I only wear eye make-up, and I told them this, and I asked to not look like I was wearing make-up, and I don't think it was very noticeable that I was wearing it, but my freckles were covered up, and I didn't want that, but maybe it was just me noticing that I had make-up on. It looked really nice, but that is the only reason.

They responded very well when my mom decided during her makeup appointment that she didn't like her hair. They redid it with a second stylist and then did her makeup even though I'm sure it messed up their schedule. They also gave me a free pair of fake eyelashes when I wasn't able to clean the ones from my trial well.

So on the wedding day I made sure Jessica did the exact same hair style only with more bobby pins and hair spray. It turned out perfect and lasted all day! My bridesmaids also all had their hair done. A couple of them weren't thrilled with their updo, claiming it wasn't quite what they had described to their stylist. Overall though I thought they all looked beautiful though! The prices are a bit high, but the salon/spa is very nice and trendy. They also let us bring in breakfast food and mimosas which was nice. I had my makeup done by one of their "Aura Skincare" beauticians and I was very happy with the results!
