Fairy tale wedding venue
We had a blast! our wedding was such a dream, we had our micro-ceremony in the Water Garden Gazebo and it was magical. Russ, the venue sales representative, was so supportive and kind. He answered every single question I had and was patient and flexible, offering us great options to make the most out of our day. Thank you to Denver Botanic Gardens for this wonderful experience. -

Perfectly romantic spot!
I had my wedding ceremony in the Water Garden Gazebo. We (bride, groom, & guests) loved it! It was a lovely location- a straight walk from the visitor center and touch up room. It was easy to spot and covered so that if it had rained, we would have been protected from the rain! We worked with the Botanic Gardens event planning team to secure our venue at the Water Garden Gazebo, which was very easy to do. We really appreciated the prompt responses to our emails and the thorough details provided to us by the event planning team as we planned our wedding from across the country! The Botanic Gardens was the perfect choice for a venue- the backdrop of our ceremony was lovely and our guests were able to enjoy the gardens while the bride and groom took their wedding portraits. It was a win-win for everyone!! -

Magical Time at the Gardens
We had another venue, but weren't very convinced. We remember seeing weddings at the Denver Botanic Gardens when we visited last year, so we decided to contact them to see what availability they had. To our surprise they did! (Mind you the wedding was less than 4 months away).
Our venue sales associate, Russ Schubert, was so thorough with the information provided to us before booking. And once booked he was very responsive, supportive, and flexible with all of our questions and visits to the garden. We decided to go with the Woodland Mosaic for our small wedding and honestly there was no better place for our wedding. Truly an unforgettable and magical time at the gardens!

Lovely Intimate Wedding
We got a lot of options for size of venue and price point, and was able to pick one that perfectly met our needs. Our Event Coordinator Russ Schubert did a great job coordinating with us, keeping us up to date with when things were due, and making sure the actual day went off without a hitch. -

Beautiful Venue and Seamless Planning
The Botanic Gardens had been our dream wedding venue for 5 years, and Kindra and everyone at DBG made it come to life! The communication, timeliness, and professionalism of the team made us feel comforted through the whole process, and both of our walkthroughs were incredibly helpful. We booked the Annuals Garden and Pavilion, which was so lovely and picturesque for us and our 80 guests at the beginning of October. The space is visible to the public on one side, but after the event we realized that neither of us thought about that and didn't notice anyone stopping or gawking. The whole day went incredibly smoothly between setting up, photos, catering (we used Serendipity who are excellent and know the Gardens well), our ceremony, and breakdown. We were surprised at how reasonably priced everything was, and ended up right at our budget. We have already recommended the Botanic Gardens to other friends to consider for their wedding or hosting work events. -

Perfect place for our small wedding!
Kindra and everyone at the Gardens was so wonderful! She helped us with any and all questions we had, got us measurements of the space, and helped make our day amazing. The botanic garden is the perfect place to have a wedding! The Solarium is tucked away and feels so private and romantic. Guests were able to walk around before the wedding and during cocktail hour to enjoy all the beautiful spaces. They provided us with a getting ready room as well, which was a great space to sit down and have a moment before the ceremony. -

Woodland Mosaic
We are so happy that we chose the Gardens for our wedding. Most of our guests had never visited before and they were just enthralled by the grounds, and the Woodland Mosaic was the perfect venue for our ceremony. Our caterer Serendipity worked seamlessly with the Gardens staff, and for what it's worth, it was very, very cool to see the gardens transform after sunset! We have nothing but gratitude to the Gardens; from planning the event to the ceremony itself, it was quite literally a perfect day. -

Highly Recommend
We had a luxury micro-wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens using the Romantic Gardens for our ceremony location and the Solarium/Woodland Mosaic for the reception. The areas were absolutely gorgeous and helped create our dream fairytale wedding! The Denver Botanic Gardens is truly a beautiful landscape and venue to hold your wedding at! I cannot imagine having my wedding anywhere else after my experience here! -

Fun and friendly venue
We host our daughter's wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens in late February and everything was beautiful. We worked with Andrew from the inquiry through the 30-day walk though, he was wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The day of we worked with Macey who was present ALL day long for us answering questions, running errands, etc. Willing to help with literally anything asked of her. Helped us make changes throughout the day as needed. And came up with some great ideas for flow and guest experience during the event. The entire DBG team was fantastic and we would highly recommend them for any event. -

Best wedding vendor by far!
We had an amazing experience working with Courtney at the Botanic Gardens. She was very responsive, organized, flexible, explained things clearly, and had great suggestions. Of all the vendors we have worked with, this was by far our favorite. -

Denver Botanic Garden Evening Wedding
Denver Botanic Garden was a magical setting for my daughter's wedding. The Solarium gave us the perfect balance of intimacy and openness. It was so beautiful, so natural, and yet sophisticated. And the staff (led by Courtney Randolph) that coordinated the event was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end; they made everything easy! -

Beautiful Fall Wedding! Perfect lighting & intimate setting
The Woodland Mosaic area of the Denver Botanic Gardens was the perfect intimate setting for our Halloween morning wedding. The fall leaves were colorful, and the morning light filtered perfectly through the green solarium windows. We were able to have our ceremony in the solarium, then mingle for cocktail hour in the space outside while our caterers flipped the solarium space for our lunch reception. Macey was great to work with! I would definitely recommend the Gardens to any bride.-

Denver Botanic Gardens ruled
We were so thrilled with the Woodland Mosaic location at the Denver Botanic Gardens for our small wedding. We used the space for both ceremony and reception and were thrilled. You can decorate a lot or a little since it's predecorated with the amazing florals growing all around and in the venue -

Absolutely fantastic
We were looking to have a small outdoor wedding, and were looking at all the possibilities Colorado has to offer, and frankly there are a lot. The botanic gardens appealed to us for a lot of reasons. There are clear and clean paths to and from the ceremony point so people with disabilities were easily able to attend, you don't need to bring in a florist because nothing could compete with the gardens themselves, and we wanted a small gathering that wasn't overwhelmed by the size of the venue. The botanic gardens has several options on where to hold the event so you can pick by size. We love the water gardens and that accommodates 30 people, so it was perfect. We also only wanted to do the ceremony there with the reception at a nearby restaurant, and the gardens had plenty of options on how long the ceremony could be and price breaks to reflect that. On the day they had a room for the bride to set up and get ready in, chairs and a table for our unity candle was provided, and signs pointing out guests where to go. Everything went prefectly, and afterwards we were able to take wedding pictures throughout the gardens, which all turned out lovely. This venue was top notch, A+, 10/10, and I would recommend it to everyone. -

Beautiful venue, easy planning
We had our ceremony in the Romantic Gardens and it was incredibly beautiful! Danae was so great to work with and helped us with all of the details leading up to the day. The space is perfect as it is, which makes decor so much easier. I would definitely recommend the Botanic Gardens for weddings or any event! -

The most beautiful garden wedding!
We had the most beautiful, dreamy, etherial wedding in the Woodland Mosaic Solarium at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It felt so romantic and peaceful and perfect for our 40 person wedding. Danae was so great with helping us with details and worked with our vendors. This was the absolute wedding of my dreams and wouldn't change a thing. Everyone loved having cocktail hour there and bring able to walk around the grounds. We got the most beautiful photos around the grounds. I have always loved the Denver Botanic Gardens but now it really hold a special place in our hearts.-

Woodland Mosaic
Our wedding ceremony and reception were at the woodland mosaic in the Gardens. It was small and intimate, and absolutely magical. It was the most beautiful place! We loved getting married here. An added bonus was the ability to be able to use the entire DBG to take photos in. It made for some stunning pics! Highly recommend this space!-

Beautiful and impressive venue
Our experience with this venue was nothing but positive. We worked mainly with Danae, she and everyone else we met on the staff were always easy to get in touch with and helpful. Danae actually recommended our (wonderful) wedding planner as well, and they worked closely through the whole process. Between the two of them they easily handled every detail of the ceremony, reception, catering, and every little thing in between that I didn’t even realize we would have to consider.
We came from out of state, and only had a couple of opportunities to actually see/visit the Gardens before the wedding, but Danae was always flexible and we were able to do a lot over email and video calls which was great.
Our actual wedding day went very smoothly, and I was impressed with how private it felt given we were at a public garden. The areas where we had the ceremony and reception were completely ours, which made the event even more enjoyable.
There are some requirements to be mindful of with regards to sound in the outdoor areas, given that it is a public location in the middle of a city, but Danae was very helpful with explaining the requirements and our options, so we didn’t run into any issues there.
Overall a stunning venue with a very skilled and friendly staff who gave us a great experience, can’t recommend them highly enough!

This venue is incredible! I am SO excited to have my wedding reception here. There are 24 acres of gorgeous space and guests get access to the Botanic Gardens the entire day of your event. You get to bring in outside alcohol so it is much cheaper than other venues. The staff is wonderful and so, so friendly. -

Great experience
We were married at the Botanic Gardens at York Street, and had a ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner all outdoors. Everything went without a hitch - and we loved working with Thomas who helped coordinate the timing and many of the small details we wouldn't have known to think about. Our guests continue to rave about the venue, the beautiful sunset and the weather which thankfully was not too hot with some cloud cover. Although there were other guests around (and we had some difficulty finding privacy for a first look), the gardens are big enough to where you can find spots throughout the day and evening to sneak away if you want more pictures without others in the background. Highly recommend! -

Most AMAZING place ever! Chris and Mary were the nicest ladies to work with. The venue is just absolutely beautiful. My family and friends from out of town were ready to get a moving a van and move to Colorado after seeing this place. The venue came with an inside and outside option, since you never know what the weather out here is going to be like, so I had no worries the day of my wedding. I would book every party I have here! -

This venue was absolutly BEAUTIFUL! It was my favorite part of the wedding (besides the actual getting married part of course!). Beautiful place for a Wedding
We were married in September of 2025. We were generally happy with the Botanical Gardens. The coordinator change months before the wedding. Beth was knowledgeable and responded quickly to our questions. We were told that we would have the wedding room for only an hour before our wedding and that didn't feel great. Although the day of the wedding we were able to have it for the time of our event. This was incredibly helpful. Pictures in this location couldn't of been better. -

Gorgeous and Private Venue!
My husband and I have been visiting the Botanic Gardens for years and it was the only venue we wanted for our wedding day. The wedding day was everything we had hoped for and many of our guests commented afterward how beautiful it was.
We also knew ahead of time that we wanted an intimate wedding and the Woodland Mosaic and Solarium as our location. The weather was fairly warm on our date but our guests didn't feel it because the venue has lots of shade with the solarium and trees. It also felt like a more secluded space, which is something that we wanted. Our wedding date was a very popular Saturday in June, and I believe 5 other weddings were taking place at the same time! Because our location felt so private, we hardly noticed. The only exception being the "golden hour" for photography, where we were taking photos in the Japanese garden and carefully maneuvering around other couples also taking photos. If you want to be the only bride in sight, keep this in mind. We didn't care though.
Because we had such a small wedding (~40 people), we chose not to have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. I would recommend one for this venue if you have a larger group or if you don't have a lot of helping hands. We had a lot of help from our families on the day of the event - helping set up things like the gifts/card table and brining in liquor in coolers. We also carried out a lot of items ourselves at the end of the night. This isn't a complaint from our end, as we expected to do some of the coordination ourselves. Just keep in mind that if you don't want to have to do anything on your wedding day, be sure to hire someone for that role.
Emily was great at coordinating from the Botanic Gardens side. She gave us helpful information when needed, responded quickly, and we also met her about a month in advance to walk through the site, going over details on things like chairs and tables. In addition, you get an hour walkthrough during the day before your event. On the day of, I booked a touch-up room (included in the price).
They have a limited catering list and we were happy to use Serendipity Catering for our food, bartenders, service staff, desserts and floral, which made coordinating everything a lot easier! I highly recommend working with Brie and Raven. Another perk of booking this venue is that you can bring in your own alcohol, which can save money. Negatively, it was a bit of work for our families to haul all of this in and out while in formalwear.
Depending on which space you book, you are also only able to have acoustic music. We wanted (and hired) a string quartet, so this worked for us. However, if you want to dance the night away with a DJ, you would need to book elsewhere for the reception or book their indoor ballroom.
The best surprise for us was a free couples membership for a year to the Botanic Gardens. We are so excited to have the opportunity to spend more time here, enjoying their many event offerings throughout the year. We can't wait to return year after year! -

Beautiful day, Beautiful location
Our ceremony at the Woodland Mosaic and Solarium at the Botanic gardens was more than we could’ve imagined. They set up and tore down the space for us and the location was so beautiful on its own, we didn’t need any decorations so the day was very low stress. There was a room for the girls to get ready in on site which was very convenient. The lighting in our photos from the solarium is incredible! Highly recommend this venue. -

Beautiful premium venues!
The Gardens have a very special personal meaning to my husband and I, so we were very excited to host our wedding here in May 2020. COVID made travel impossible for many of our guests at the time, but the Gardens staff and our venue manager Danae were extremely flexible and helpful with making accommodations as the date changed and situation evolved. We were upgraded for free to a larger (even more gorgeous) venue to allow for social distancing with our 40 guests, and the Gardens staff was exceptionally helpful, and professional for the whole process. This is not an inexpensive place to host your big day, but it's worth it for the care you will receive and to have one of the most beautiful wedding days Colorado can offer!
A word of caution - the Gardens limits which preferred vendors you can use for catering/bartending due to the sensitive environments in the park, so be prepared to self-cater (which we did), pay an extra fee to use a non-preferred caterer, or pay top dollar for one of the preferred vendors!-

The Gardens were the perfect place to have our wedding. You can't do a a lot of outside decorating, but really you don't need to at all. The only things that would have made it better would be the ability to have a longer time for the reception and a better room to get ready in. That said, though, everything was super beautiful and set up perfectly. I didn't have a single change to make day-of. -

We loved our venue. They did a wonderful job of making sure that everything went how it was supposed to go. The staff was great. It's a beautiful place to have your wedding/reception at. The only thing that bothered me was, there was no mention that they have quite a bit of misquitos. So we did not prepare for it. Which was terrible. -

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! The perfect site for our ceremony at a great price. They don't allow alcohol in the garden grounds, but it was a warm day so we loved our chilled Martinelli's cider toast! You also can not have amplified music, but our little orchestra was loud enough. We had our reception at the Grant Humphries Mansion. -

Incredible venue for our wedding ceremony
The Denver Botanic Gardens is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind setting for a wedding. We would highly recommend the Annual Gardens for a wedding ceremony. It is a wonderful space with lovely reflection pools surrounding the area. Our guests couldn't rave enough about how gorgeous the setting was. -

While my husband and I did not get the opportunity to have the wedding we so feverishly planned due to unforeseen circumstances, I wanted to take the opportunity to write about the fabulous vendors we had the pleasure of working with anyways. We met with a coordinator in January and got to view the then snow covered gardens. Renovations were being performed, but even with some of the gardens in disarray, they were still absolutely beautiful. My husband and I decided on an outdoor wedding in the beginnings of our planning, and I would suggest there is almost no better place to do so. To our surprise there were still a few availabilities on weekends in the summer to schedule and we were so elated that we almost signed the contract right there and then (we didn’t, but it only took 2 additional days before we did :) ). Jennifer I believe was the coordinator and was quite knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. After booking, she was slightly more difficult to reach but that isn’t to say that there weren’t plenty of others that volunteered to help us in Jennifer’s absence of communication. Even when it came to having to postpone or even cancel our wedding, they were incredibly understanding and allowed us to transfer the contract to a cousin’s name (with ease and no hassle!) so that they may use the beautiful location for their wedding instead. And it was beautiful. I would absolutely recommend this venue! -

We decided on the Denver Botanic Gardens as the location was beautiful. It was very pricey, but well worth the cost when it comes to beautiful pictures and ease to work with. We were able to get free tickets to discuss where we wanted our first look pictures. When we stopped by, we received a lovely packet that was very detailed. The day of they had signs to direct the guests where to go, and all of the volunteers knew our name. I felt like we were the focus and our needs were considered and carried out well. -

The venue was absolutely beautiful, everything was just as they said it would be. The only downfall was feeling slightly like just another number in the mass of madness, but I cannot complain with everything they offered. It was what they said it would be, the Catering manager went above and beyond and everyone was very happy. Thank you Botanic Gardens! -

Overall, they did a very good job. Friendly staff, etc. The only thing is, I would definitely make plans for mosquito control. They had sprayed earlier in the day, but there was a heavy rainstorm before the wedding, then the sun came out and so did the bugs. We had bottles of mosquito repellant for the guests as well, which I highly recommend. -

Summer wedding
I’ve always wanted to get married at the Denver Botanic Gardens and I’m glad I did- it was beautiful! The only drawbacks is the price. Because it’s not solely a wedding venue, there aren’t luxuries like being able to guarantee a rehearsal the day before at the time you want and there isn’t a lot of space, so we were only able to reserve one room to prepare in an hour ahead of time, and we had to come up with an alternative plan for our belongings during the ceremony, as we couldn’t leave them in the room. All in all, everyone was professional and everything was prepared as it was agreed upon. -

DBG is a BEAUTIFUL place to have a wedding. We can't wait to see all of our pictures from the wedding because we know they will be wonderful! We had our wedding at the Romantic Gardens and we had endless nice compliments from out of town guests who thought it was the most beautiful wedding that they have ever been to.
The only thing I would warn you about is that you have to take some initiative to ask them and to talk to them about everything. I called about a month prior to my wedding because I hadn't hear from them about scheduling my rehearsal time, and doing a final run-through. Without my call, I'm not sure they would have remembered me. =)
They are great with the rehearsal too. I wanted chairs set up for the rehearsal and because they had a wedding that day, they were willing to set up chairs for us a little earlier so that our flower girl and ring bearer could really see where they were going to walk.
I would definitely recommend having a wedding here! -

The Botanic Gardens was absolutely beautiful for our wedding in June. Their location is gorgeous, and set up very well for both the ceremony and reception. The bridal suite was fantastic, but the groom's quarters were lacking a little bit. Amanda, our coordinator for the day of the wedding, was absolutely wonderful. She was so helpful, responsive, and flexible. Many of the original requirements and restrictions in the contract seemed very rigid, but when we had specific requests or questions, they were very flexible and worked very closely with us.
When you get there the day of your wedding, the timeline is very tight, so be very organized with your decorations and other things you need to set up. This way it goes very smoothly, and your wedding will go off without a hitch, just like ours did! -

My husband and I got married at the Botanic Gardens last August and our wedding was absolutely stunning. Our ceremony was in the Romantic Gardens it it was everything I could have dreamed about. The garden was in bloom, we had musicians playing in the gazebos and it was beautiful. I couldn't have picked a better or more beautiful place to get married in. There aren't too many outdoor locations to get married in in actual Denver and I think this has to be one of the most beautiful. Our pictures are stunning as we got to take them all over the gardens.
Having said that, there are a few things you should be aware of if you do plan your wedding here. My biggest concern and worry leading up to the day is there is no alternative location if it rains. Like I said, our day was beautiful but it was a bit stressful.
As far as facility rental fees, I thought it was a bit on the expensive side, although, for us, totally worth it. We paid $1500 to use the Romantic Gardens but got a small discount by becoming a member. They provided white chairs, set them up and took them down. They also gave us the use of a classroom in the visitor center we could use to get ready or wait but none of us ended up using it. If you want to have your reception there it's an additional fee but we decided not to after seeing the space -- it looks like a steel bunker. I thought there staff were really easy to get a hold of and helpful before we booked but not so much after. Our wedding planner also had to make an urgent call right before the beginning of the ceremony because a generator right next to the site came on and was really loud but she got it turned off in time.
All that said, we had no major problems on our day and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

A gorgeous venue that was generally great to work with. It was wonderful to support a non profit with our fees and being able to provide your own alcohol really helped save cost. The staff were somewhat flexible with us allowing us slightly earlier access to the grounds, which was very helpful in our unique situation. When an unexpected thing happened in the morning the staff arrived extra early and navigated it without bothering us and they also notified the caterer. Email responsiveness and organization were not always great and sometimes the staff seemed frustrated to answer the questions, but they also seemed very busy and understaffed so that's understandable. -

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience here. The special events team was very knowledgeable and very helpful before, during, and after our wedding. The views are amazing, and our out of state guests loved the scenery. The worked with us to make our guest list work with the reception area, and offered suggestions and feedback during our final walkthrough. -

We hosted both our ceremony and reception at the Botanic Gardens at York St in July of this year. The venue was absolutely stunning, our on site coordinator was incredibly helpful and responded quickly to all emails, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the space was. Because of our surroundings, we saved a lot of money on decor and flowers.
For obvious reasons, there are a lot of restrictions that come with the venue, but the on site coordinators are very upfront about these from the beginning, which makes it a lot easier to set up other vendors. The price is quite high, but for how beautiful the space is and how easy they make the day, it was absolutely worth it for us. -

Stunning Venue
The Botanic Gardens is obviously stunning. All of the separate places you can get married at are great. We chose the Romantic Gardens.
Unfortunately, you can only reserve the space for 1 hour only. Everything after the ceremony (photos, video footage etc) felt rushed. There's no option for to hold a reception at the Romantic Gardens. We were offered other venues in the Gardens such as Mitchell Hall (they wanted $6000 for the whole day) for the reception but that comes with it's own challenges (selecting from they're approved vendors only, if not, then extra cost for outside vendors etc.)
For an hour, this particular venue (Romantic Gardens) felt expensive. It was $2000 (for only an hour), + $550 refundable damage deposit + $300 for the Gardens to set up and breakdown, + $50 for a podium + an additional (and surprise extra cost) $650 for audio equipment and someone to run your music from a phone or laptop and a playlist you provide them with.
We had already paid for a DJ for our reception (somewhere else) and this was an annoying extra expense the Gardens kind of pressured us into. If you decide to bring your own DJ/MC to cue music, be aware of decibel levels and the DJ will not have access to any A/V equipment from the Gardens. Your DJ/MC needs to bring their own gear.
Our officiant also has mobility issues so we requested a chair or podium for him to either sit in or hold onto in case his hips or legs gave way. They charged us an extra $50 for a podium.
The process to get a final walk through was tough as you have to schedule when they don't have eventing going (weekdays) and in the afternoons. Since my husband and I lived out of town, this really posed a problem. My sister and mom ended up going in my place. In order to book a bridal suite for the day of your event, you have to wait 1 month before.
All in all, I would have had my ceremony and reception space be the same place. -

The day of our event was absolutely spectacular. The venue itself is beautiful. Michelle our facility coordinator was amazing and she dealt with all of my 'crazy.' There were initially some communication issues with our original facility coordinator, but once we got Michelle everything fell into place. Purchase more time if you have an evening event, we wish we had because our event felt far too short.
The reason why I don't give them a five is because of the initial communication issues we had. Our first facility coordinator never responded to any of my emails, however, she is now no longer there and Michelle was fantastic. Flexibility was a bit of an issue, we were unable to book our rehearsal time until it was 30 days before our event. This wouldn't have been an issue, except that our entire wedding party was coming in from out of town and travel arrangements needed to be made, but they were inflexible and wouldn't even give us an estimated time. During the event itself, some of the staff were rude to my sister.
All and all the venue itself was beautiful and the staff worked hard to rectify certain situations. -

We had an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony at the Woodland Mosaic in September. I would highly recommend that location and it's hard to beat the cost of the botanic gardens. We started planning with the Gardens about 10 months before our wedding and I loved the woman that helped me, Amanda. However, by the time our wedding came around, she had moved on and I was really frustrated with the communication and support I received in the two months leading up to our wedding. It took two to four days to get answers to small questions (e.g., what can a flower girl toss?) (answer: nothing). It's impossible to reach anyone at the special events office via email or phone. My phone call and voicemail was never returned, instead, the person helping me emailed me back after a few days. If I call, extend the professional courtesy of calling back. I was anxious in the weeks leading up to our wedding and I felt the service at the Gardens made my wedding anxiety worse. Trying to coordinate multiple vendors and determine final details would have been so much easier if the staff could manage their email! I also felt that the rules changed between when I signed our contract and when we actually had our wedding. The information I was provided was "being updated" but it's not clear when new rules take effect. So, we would probably chose to book the Gardens if we did it all over again, but I would recommend two things: (1) use a wedding planner to coordinate with the Gardens and (2) ask if the rules are current and when they might change. If there is something you really want for your wedding, make sure you ask if it's allowed when you are interviewing and get it in writing. (We didn't have a reception at the Gardens, so didn't have any food, drink, or catering - so much easier!). Benefits: we didn't have to do any decorating and our damage deposit was refunded quickly. -

We used the Denver Botanic Gardens as our venue for the rehearsal dinner. We booked Marnie's Pavilion and fortunately the Chihuli exhibit was there during the rehearsal dinner. My guests were able to walk around the Gardens and see the exhibit after the dinner free of charge. The venue was really nice and we received many compliments on the space and the idea of using a Botanic Garden as a venue. However, we wanted to do a s'mores bar for our dessert and the Gardens would not allow us to do so because we were indoors. If we were outside, we would have been able to do a s'mores bar. I'm not sure I ever got a clear explanation on the difference but I would have appreciated if they would have been more flexible. Ultimately, my guests had a good time and we were able to come up with a different dessert so I would say that it was a successful rehearsal dinner. -

Pros: beautiful venue, a fair amount of freedom with decor and vendor selection. Chris on staff was helpful, nice and knowledgeable.
Cons: There is a fee for everything. You will need more time than what is allotted in your package and you will pay dearly for it. An admin fee snuck up on us last minute that was not clearly documented in the contract but was in very small print on a later page. So we were out $300 ish more right before the wedding that we weren't expecting. When I first did a walk through at the venue, I had a less than helpful employee guiding me around the facility. She did not have a customer service mindset at all, evident in some of the comments she made while we were touring the facility. The last straw for me was when she said they could not guarantee that I would get a rehearsal time the weekend of the wedding...I almost walked out on the deal because her attitude was so unnecessarily defiant. Instead of saying something to the tune of "we will do everything possible to make you happy" it was more like "it may or may not be possible and there is nothing we can do to guarantee it". I will say that once we started to deal with Chris, she was more client focused and we had no problem getting a rehearsal date in. My professionalism rating above is for Chris specifically and how my situation turned out, but does not represent the business as a whole.
Overall, beautiful venue. Just know going in that they are not there to serve you as a paying customer in any way, they are providing a pretty place for you for a few hours and that is about it. -

We had our wedding at the gardens and it was absolutely gorgeous and breath-taking area. We had looked at tons of other venues but none of them remotely compared to the lush natural beauty of the gardens. The only down side was working with the wedding coordinator at the gardens, Shelby. She was extremely difficult to ever get a hold of, pretty negative and not accommodating in the least. However, occasionally we were able to work with a woman named Mara who was super upbeat, kind and had great ideas.
Also, if your considering booking the gardens, make sure to check out the "bridal room" because its yucky! It's in the basement and looks like an old high school science classroom. I ended up getting ready at the nearby Holiday Chat which was gorgeous and super accommodating.

BEAUTIFUL Venue, not so great setup..
Our wedding venue was absolutely gorgeous, however, the logistics and sound was a nightmare. Hire your own wedding planner to get things done is my best suggestion! The weekend of our wedding we were finally responded to by their preferred AV vendor that he wasn't available. We had been led to believe in the months leading up to our big day that sound was not an issue and they could do it internally, if worst came to worst. Well.. worst did come to worst. It sounded terrible and cracked the entire time I walked down the isle. I would have 100% preferred to go without any sound as it literally tainted the entire ceremony for us. When I called to discuss this I was told that it was our Aux cord that was the issue LOL...We payed $350, on top of everything else, and they can't provide an Aux cord.. or at least test a song or two to make sure it's working? Even if it was the Aux cord.. this should have been mentioned wayy before the day of our wedding? I was also told after our wedding that sound is typically booked 6 months in advance! Again... this was never made to be a point of contention to us prior to booking. Biggest takeaway is that they do not care if things go according to plan, and are up to your standards, the day of your wedding. The staff is really only there to book and bill your wedding. Hire a Wedding coordinator to make sure things like this don't happen to you and that you have an advocate on your side the day of! -

DOWNTOWN DBG: The venue was beautiful. And our ceremony was magical. But I found everything at the DBG to be a bit of a challenge. Expensive, not very responsive, never flexible, rarely problem solving and very little personal attention. It's all worth it because of the exquisite setting -but be prepared to be frustrated by the process. -

Let me begin by saying that our experience was excellent until our wedding day. Our wedding was scheduled for the morning of 9/29/2012, which unknowingly to us was the same exact time the Color Me Rad 5k was to take place right next to our wedding. Lucky for the runners, they received a courtesy email warning them of the traffic getting into the facility. We did not receive a single call and ran into miles of traffic in all directions as there is only one way out and one way in. With 10s of thousands of runners (we saw a bib number of 21,756 so there were at least that many there!) and all of our wedding party, we did not reach our part of the gardens until 1hour and 15 minutes after our start time. We got there 15 mintues before our wedding was supposed to take place! The caterer is friends with Mary and Chris, our gardens coordinators, and they were not even aware- what usually took them 15 minutes took them an hour and a half. Needless to say, we had a horrible experience. Our biggest issue was that NO ONE let us know. NO ONE approached us at all the day of our wedding. NO ONE apologized to us or offered a resolution. We had guests turned away from our wedding. We can never get that back. Over a month later, they want to give us back the 1-2 hours we missed at the beginning. Wow. Really? -

I second what Jam said because s/he hit the nail on the head:
"The venue was beautiful. And our ceremony was magical. But I found everything at the DBG to be a bit of a challenge. Expensive, not very responsive, never flexible, rarely problem solving and very little personal attention. It's all worth it because of the exquisite setting -but be prepared to be frustrated by the process."
"Frustrated by the process" about sums it up. I was a very low-maintenance bride, and we had a small wedding, so there was not much to coordinate, but the whole process was disappointing. The wedding itself was great, but everything from the initial contact to the day-of was more difficult than it needed to be. Just one example: our ceremony was at 3 PM. We rented the Orangery from 2:00-5:00 (and paid quite a bit to do so, I might add). I was given the "bridal touch up room" from 2:00-3, but since the ceremony was at 3 I was hoping we'd have somewhere from about 3:00-3:20 to leave our makeup, bags, coats, etc. I was told this wasn't possible and that we should just "have someone run stuff back out to the car" before the ceremony or "keep it in the ceremony site." Now...as I said, we had a small ceremony. Some pictures had every guest and the whole wedding party in them. I didn't want a big pile of bags and stuff in the pictures. I don't think the bride asking for a place to leave a purse and makeup during the ceremony is unreasonable, but I asked about this several times and they wouldn't budge. Also, there was one small sign put up on ONE door leading into our ceremony site. Because of this there was a constant stream of people in and out of the Orangery (which, again, we had paid a lot for) all during the ceremony and afterward when we were trying to take photos. I know it's a public site, and one or two people would have been understandable, but it was kind of ridiculous. All it would've taken was a small sign on each entrance. -

Venue is beautiful. Staff + experience is subpar.
The venue itself is gorgeous! We got married in the romantic gardens and the scenery is absolutely beautiful! The photos we got around the venue were also stunning! Our guests enjoyed being able to walk around the gardens both before and after the ceremony. The reason we are giving them only 3 out of 5 stars is because of their staff. Not a great experience at all! In conversations prior to the wedding, our venue contact could not keep things straight. There would be multiple times in which we would have to repeat ourselves because there would be not attention to detail. For example, she asked me several times who our caterer was and I had to repeat that we were only booked for a ceremony. Then, on the day of the wedding, they definitely make you feel like you are just another wedding. It definitely felt like wedding-factory vibes. We had the space reserved from 11am - 2pm and the staff interrupted our photos at 1pm to tell us the next bride arrived early and that they needed us to move so they could start rearranging the chairs. They could not comprehend that we had the space dedicated to us until 2pm and that it was extremely inappropriate to even mention another bride to me on my wedding day. -

Great Venue, Horrible Communication
Venue is great, but the staff in place is not. I would say 8/10 that we emailed our point of contact we got an out-of-office reply with the suggestion to call the main line - who seldom picked up and never answered a single voicemail. It took up to a week to get a reply when we needed to sign our contract and pay our final bill. I understand being short-staffed, but then the Gardens needs to figure something out so that they can be contacted - especially if they can't reply promptly to you simply trying to pay them.
Otherwise, the venue was a dream. Gorgeous and well-suited for weddings. -

I was so excited when we found this place and got everything booked! Unfortunately the couple of months leading up to our wedding I hardly heard from them. They asked us to schedule a final walk through about a month before the wedding and thats when they added a bunch of costs. It's frustrating when your planning a wedding and have everything planned out and they throw it on you. I will admit that they gave us a sheet of papers explaining some costs but definitely not all. The venue is awesome but the staff isn't very professional. The day of the wedding they made sure to have a staff member get our damages form but after that they were never to be found. It was an amazing and beautiful venue but not good staffing. -

Pretty Venue. Terrible Staff..
I got married in August, 2019. This venue was perfect and I had the most amazing day. However, the staff was awful. We were treated so poorly. It took forever for them to respond, forgot things they told us, and were generally rude. When we arrived for our venue walkthrough, the coordinator was late, had no idea who we were, and then told us that she had double booked. She called us by the wrong name and told us that the details of our wedding were NOT what we signed in the contract. We had to explain multiple times that she was thinking of a different couple. They did not help at our rehearsal dinner OR our wedding. When we arrived at our rehearsal dinner, our coordinator did NOTHING to help us, even though coordinating the bridal party was something we had talked about. She left us alone the entire night. We barely even saw her on our wedding day. On our actual day, we saw her once. In fact, she double booked our rehearsal dinner as well and we were unable to have our rehearsal in our venue spot. It was a very frustrating process. We spent the night before our wedding freaking out because she had forgotten things she had told us would be ready the next morning, even though we had emails to prove the conversations happened. It's sad because the venue is so perfect and I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else, but the entire wedding experience was a disaster simply because of the disorganization and laziness. -

This venue is beautiful, and overall, was worth my money. But the planning process with them was ridiculous - never have I felt so ignored! I am certain that dealing with stressed brides is difficult, but their event manager, Chris, has this job for a reason and needs to manage her clientele better.
After I paid my 50% deposit, communication with them stopped. Anytime I would call or email with a question, I wouldn't hear from anyone for weeks. It would take 5 or 6 phone calls, and multiple emails to hear anything back. And when I did hear something back, it would often be a rushed, annoyed remark. For as much as brides pay to have their weddings at this venue, and hardly anything is provided, they should really be a lot nicer.
Then, on the day of my wedding, the event manager wouldn't let my mother in law begin setting up decorations until I arrived to sign something. She set us back 40 minutes, and things therefore got rushed and skipped over. Never was I told that set up couldn't begin until I slapped a signature and a credit card number on a single sheet of paper. When I did get there, I was quick to sign it, but the event manager seemed annoyed, like I was wasting HER time.
I would still recommend this venue because it's gorgeous, but I would warn brides to be prepared for dealing with them! -

I feel like the Denver Botanic Gardens should either get out of the wedding business or make it more user friendly for weddings. There is no real place for the bride to get ready. Most of our meetings were about what we were not allowed to do and the very strict time lines. We felt unwelcome even though we were paying a lot of money to use their venue. -

The venue itself was gorgeous BUT the service was HORRIBLE! They barely answered questions, they actually hung up on my husband multiple times! They never wrote down our rehearsal time and called the day before asking when it was, when I told them they said "oh we have someone else there too at that time, can you move?" I really couldn't and neither could the other bride (obviously) so she literally told us whoever gets their 1st can have the space and whoever gets there 2nd can have the leftover time but we had to be out because a washing started at 1, our original rehearsal time was 12-1! We had the actual wedding day booked from 8-4, at 2 they had people coming up to my husband asking to get all his stuff out of the grooms quarters so the next wedding party could get in! They kept bothering him, the GROOM, DURING OUR RECEPTION!!! When the party was over and the guys went to gather everything they found their stuff outside in the dirt and another wedding party inside. Absolutely awful. DO NOT GO HERE!! The view is gorgeous but the amount of frustration is not worth it. And they're rude about it all on top of it! -
