So far I have had a great experience with the DelRay. Amanda, the wedding coordinator, is super nice! She was able to put a table together with a table cloth so I could test out one of my table centerpiece ideas. I am super excited for our big day to come!!

The DelRay is a great place to have your wedding and/or reception. They do all the set up and clean up so you don't have to worry about any of that. They have 3 DJs and 2 caterers to choose from. They also offer dance lessons as part of their package. The only problem we had was with the DJ. One was booked at another venue that day. One never responded to my email so I had to tell the owner and when he finally did respond he seemed somewhat unprofessional. So this left us with the third. He did an okay job but he didn't play a lot of the songs people requested and didn't really pick songs to get people out dancing. Although my mother in law said she did get some compliments from her friends and family about him so just depends on your point of view I guess.

The DelRay is a great place to hold a wedding reception for up to 350 guests. Located in downtown Lincoln, parking is easily accessible because it is right next to a parking garage. The site has a much warmer feeling than most reception halls with its wood floors and brick walls. There is no need to decorate because of the buildings character. The staff was easy to work with most of the time. The only complaints that I heard from guests was the wait at the bar otherwise the staff made sure our night was stressfree.

The DelRay Ballroom was a beautiful location for our wedding reception. They provide a DJ and have a specific caterer that they work with. However, we did have some problems with the DJ. The one we chose was terminated, our second chose was unavailable and we got stuck with an inexperienced DJ. He did an okay job but did not play many of the songs that we had listed as favorites.

The owner was extremely unprofessional, rude and very hard to work with. She was more concerned about her title as owner than the actual paying customer. She even called us liars to our face not once but twice on separate occasions! Which is crazy because she wasn't even working with our account!! She would just step in and mess up agendas.. Even her staff would roll their eyes when she would get involved. The husband Stan was easy to work with but he was pretty flakey. He seamed like a busy guy. We went through 3 different event assistants.. They are not very organized. I felt like we had to be very repetitive. Our reception turned out nice but the level of stress involved was unnecessary. And watch out for all the additional service charges they throw on towards then end.. What a headache.

The DelRay does not follow up with emails in 24 hours, and sometimes you have to email them/call multiple times for response. Shelley is a terrible manager and is on her 3rd Event Director in under a year. We met with Shelley and she herself said she has a lot of turnover of staff. Which I assume comes from poor leadership. She does not care about her clients at all, and only cares about her business. Yes it's pretty and a good package, but not worth it for the people that you have to deal with. KEEP LOOKING, a reception venue is a big part of a wedding. You will spend most of your big day there, and need good communication and professionalism which is NOT the DelRay. They will ruin your experience.
