THANK YOU Deidre’s Special Day for helping me find the dress of my dreams! The staff was so patient, knowledgeable, and sweet. The shop even dyed my shoes to make the champagne undertone of my dress. An amazing, local, small business that I will continue to support because of their kindness, quality, and professionalism. -

Samantha Sent on 08/20/2018I got my dress from Deidre's Special Day and had an AMAZING experience! I worked directly with Deidre and she was BEYOND accommodating. After trying to find alteration shops in the Boston area (since that's where I currently live) as my initial intent was alter my grandmother's wedding dress I was disappointed to have not found a reliable one. While home for the January Bridal Expo I met Deidre. After our first consultation, the way the dress fit me meant a total reconstruct. Despite not having an actual dress fitting appointment she let me try on one dress. It was the first dress I tried on other than my grams and it was 'THE ONE.'
My (now) husband and I decided to elope meaning the dress instead of being ready for October would need to be ready in a short 3.5 months from January when we first met. She was SO accommodating and squeezed me in AND opened the shop early for me to have my dress fittings. Oh, and in that 3.5 months I was also living in Israel for 1 month of it. Needless to say, not only did she do it by ahead of schedule, but the alterations were immaculate, including the custom work on the inside of the dress (which was a last minute request to have a heart stitched on the inside of my dress with my poppy's blue tie).
Overall, I think we all have different experiences, (if you can't already tell) I certainly can't recommend the shop enough! <3 -

User1059543 Sent on 01/04/2013I cannot recommend this store highly enough! Staff was super friendly and helpful. I went into the store with a VERY low budget and they suggested that I try on a bridesmaid's dress and order it in white or ivory. They helped me pick out a great dress in my price range that really flattered my figure. It arrived exactly when they anticipated it and they had it altered and steamed within a week of my fitting. They were not pushy or trying to sell me things I did not indicate that I needed/wanted. They treated me like royalty even though I spent less than $300 in their store, and they even sent a very nice note thanking me for my business. I would recommend this store to anyone in the Western MA area. -

Martha Sent on 11/13/2011Deidre and her staff were fantastic. They did not hesitate to call when my dress or shoes came into the store the staff was helpful and always so happy to see us. They were able to take my dress the day after the wedding and send it out to be preserved. -

Krysten Sent on 06/21/2013I cannot express my thanks more to the staff at Deirdre's! My mom and I had walked in on a chance just to look to see what they had in stock. We were immediately greeted and taken in the back to look at dresses... just like that! Sharon M. listened to what I wanted and my style and found the perfect dress for me. I am so very happy with the service I received! Both my mother and my grandmother are looking at dresses at Deirdre's as well because of the excellent service we received simply as walk ins! I have not found any other shops that have been so accommodating! -

Rebecca Sent on 09/20/2017The consultant I had was very encouraging, and kind. She definitely knew what she was doing. I walked in and told her I had no idea what I wanted, but I didn't want a strapless gown. Guess what I purchased? A strapless gown! She found me the perfect fit, and a gown that absolutely fit my personality. The gown was definitely over-budget for me, but I don't regret the extra money spent at all, the quality of the gown and the service the girls provided me with was worth it! -
User775100 Sent on 04/13/2012I was late in shopping for my dress, and was told when I went to Deidre's that I would have to buy something off the rack, as they didn't have time to order me something (It was 3 1/2 months til my wedding.) While I was disappointed, I was able to find something I loved and the price was good. The sales associate was so-so: she helped me out, but refused to let my fiance with me in the dressing room to help me zip up dresses. They made me step out of the room in front of the whole store with a dress half on so that they could zip it up. As a shy person, the whole experience was very embarrassing. Fittings went essentially the same way. Constantly on display in front of everyone. The original sales associate also kept talking to me like I wouldn't be able to afford the dress I picked out, which is offensive. When I returned for fittings, the staff was much nicer, and Deidre who does the alterations was very nice and professional. While the overall experience was not bad, if I had not found a dress I loved early-on I would not have used them, due to the fact that I constantly felt uncomfortable and awkward being half dressed in the middle of the store. I would have appreciated a more private experience. -

Kara Sent on 04/06/2016I'll start off my saying I had an amazing experience with finding my wedding gown at Deidre's. My experience was so positive that I decided I wanted to use them to order my bridesmaid dresses which turned out to be nothing but a nightmare. I ordered my bridesmaid dresses at the recommended time in order for them to arrive in a timely manner for my wedding and still have time for my girls to get their alterations.
With my wedding at the end of April, I was a little nervous when the dresses still had not arrived at the end of February. No one from the store called me to give me an update as to why there was a delay in shipping and each time I called there was a different excuse as to why they hadn't arrived yet. One of their excuses was something about the Chinese New Year.
My bridesmaid dresses did not arrive until 2 weeks before my wedding. Deidre's was completely unhelpful and took no responsibility in their lack of communication and customer service. In fact, they blamed me saying I should have paid a rush order fee back in October when I ordered the dresses for them to guarantee they would have been there on time. Perhaps it is their lack of organization or the fact that they still were using paper files that they lost or messed up my order. Either way, customer service should never be compromised.
There are plenty of other places to purchase beautiful bridal and bridesmaid gowns around Northern Berkshire. I would absolutely not recommend this store to anyone. Travel a little further if needed in order to get the respect and customer service every bride deserves! -
User1982683 Sent on 12/23/2014I was treated so horribly! They messed up on the order of my dress the first time, good thing I ordered early. The color was long and length was off over a foot. They never told me with the dress I choose you have to have the length measured prior because the lace you can take up later in the alterations. So I had to reorder and they charged me more money or told me to go somewhere else! Of course my luck I couldn't get the dress anywhere else, even looked at places over an hour drive away and no luck. So I had to pay the extra money to have it reordered. After a long wait it finally came in as it was really close now to the wedding date. Then the horrible process of the alterations that was done very unprofessional. The 1st time they forgot to color code the bussels and I needed cups put in and they forgot those too. Deidre actually said "I was wondering whos cups those belonged to" and this is a professional who has done this for years, ya ok. Plus she had to take more in on the back.... I had to go back for simple alternations that should of been done in the beginning. Then a fews before the wedding, I had them button everyone one on the dress to see how it fits to make sure its perfect.... now this whole time they would button the dress and see the back, I can't. They supposedly never notice the neck part sticks out "A LOT". Not suppose to. Now they already gave me a price for the alterations and they just had to press it before I picked it up. When they said the neck was fixed and I can pick up the dress it was all set. Finally got it but had to pay "cash" and more $ then what they said!! They messed up on my girls dress big time too! All four were upset with how they were treated and the price. They went else where for alterations cause they screwed me and my sister. RUN AWAY FROM DEIDRE'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
