Great Interfaith Rabbi!

Rabbi Barry made my daughter's wedding so very special and memorable! We received countless compliments from the guests, wedding coordinators, photographers, etc. about him. From his Jewish explanations to his wonderful humor to his down-to-earth demeanor, you were a real hit! We so appreciated his shepherding my (Jewish) daughter and my (nonJewish) son-in-law through the entire process, making the ceremony so inclusive for the nonJewish attendees, and for delivering our event in a manner that was so warm, welcoming, and entertaining!

Wonderful officiant

Rabbi Barry officiated our nondenominational ceremony and we’re so grateful for him. He created a beautiful ceremony for us and his presence put us at ease (not easy to do for two people who aren’t used to being the center of attention). He’s a warm, kind officiant who helped us feel connected on a day that often feels like a blur.

A great officiant who loves what he does

Rabbi Barry is a funny, knowledgable officiant who will truly tailor your day to you. My husband and I enjoyed working with him as we planned our ceremony, and he was responsive to all our questions along the way. (He was also a big hit with our guests on the wedding day itself!) If you want a seasoned pro who loves his work, Rabbi Barry is the officiant for you.

Rabbi Barry is great!

We loved Rabbi Barry! He was a fantastic teacher to my husband who converted before our wedding, and very flexible in his weekly classes. He worked with us over Skype all the way in Colorado. We really enjoyed that he tailored the service to our tastes, and incorporated our personalities. Everyone loved the service and thought Rabbi Barry did a great job. He's also very funny! I highly recommend hiring Rabbi Barry for your wedding!

Amazing officiant!

Deep South Rabbi - Rabbi Barry Altmark was amazing! We had a very diverse crowd and he did an amazing job of explaining the traditions that we wanted to incorporate in our wedding. He also was very creative in ways to get the guests involved, everyone got to feel like they were part of the ceremony!

A Perfect Fit

We could not have been more happy having Barry as our officiant for our wedding. He met with us several times to get to know us as a couple to personalize our service. The guests could not stop talking about how much they loved him. He made us laugh, cry, and fall in love with our ceremony. I would highly recommend him to anyone. His love and inclusivity for all types of couples and marriages was inspiring. As a same sex couple, we didn’t feel like this was a same-sex wedding but a wedding honored and represented like any other wedding. But at the same time personalized just for us.

Better than we could have hoped for

Rabbi Barry is phenomenal. We hired him to officiate our same-sex jewish ceremony in Cartagena, Colombia. Destination weddings come with their hiccups and he never skipped a beat; he was game for it all. It's been two months since the wedding and our guests still talk about how wonderful he was! Could not recommend Rabbi Barry more!

We first heard about Rabbi Barry through WeddingWire and we are so glad we decided to contact him. At first we thought it would be strange to do our ceremony with someone we didn't know, but that fear quickly went away. Rabbi Barry met us several times via Skype before the wedding and right away we knew he was the perfect fit for us. He explained us every single step of the ceremony and made sure everything was aligned to our believes and family traditions. It was a beautiful ceremony and we couldn't be happier! One call did it all, having Rabbi Barry officiate our wedding was a no "brainer". We had 2 Skype calls with him and he delivered on our wishes and kept the service light and even funny at times. He asked all the right questions of us and answered all of ours. He is very easy to work with and will do whatever it takes to personalize your Wedding!

Rabbi Barry was the perfect choice for my daughter's interfaith wedding. He established a very communicative relationship with them and with me well ahead of the wedding. He did a great job of making the ceremony relevant to our many non-Jewish guests while still keeping all the customs and traditions alive and close. We received many compliments about the ceremony from many guests! I would highly recommend him.

I am so lucky to have found Rabbi Barry. We hired him about a year before the wedding, and he checked in often to see how we were doing throughout the planning process. I only met him in person one time before the wedding but through all the emailing, I felt like I knew him really well. He is also the type of person that after just meeting him, you feel like you've known him your whole life. He shakes hands on the first meeting, after that it's all hugging! He kept our ceremony short and kept our guests entertained with his sense of humor and guest participation. All of my guests loved him. We loved him!

There are not enough words of praise that I can say regarding the amazing ceremony Rabbi Barry performed for my daughter's wedding. His explanation of tradition was insightful, informative with just the right amount of humor and warmth. People in attendance that had never experienced a Jewish ceremony were moved beyond words.
The bride and groom's experience from the very beginning was wonderful. The rabbi welcomed the non jewish half with warmth and open arms.
Any newly engaged couple either Jewish or mixed should call Rabbi Barry and experience his awesome personality.

We were honored to have Rabbi Barry perform our interfaith wedding. We are from Atlanta Georgia and Rabbi Barry drove up to the north Georgia mountains for our wedding. We 'interviewed' multiple Rabbis' for our wedding and within a minute of talking with Rabbi Barry knew he was the right one for us. The reasoning is important though- it's not because of what he told us, it's because of what he ASKED us. The first thing he asked us was what type of ceremony we were hoping for and what our beliefs were to determine whether he was the appropriate Rabbi for our ceremony. He asked us about our backgrounds, our relationships with our family and our faith. He also requested that we reflect upon where we began and where we thought we were going. He was truly thoughtful and helped facilitate our own development.

We can not recommend him enough for an interfaith wedding!

My wife (Katie) and I got married on 10/24/2014. We first heard about Rabbi Barry through the recommendation of our wedding planner. After narrowing down our search to 2-3 officiants, we set up a meeting with Rabbi Barry. We could tell right away that he was the one we wanted. He was down to earth, funny, relaxed, and he knows how to work a crowd. At the same time, he's adamant about marriage being a sacred covenant and he takes it very seriously, which is something we appreciate. He came prepared with several examples, passages, etc. and worked with us every step of the way. It's easy to see that he genuinely enjoys what he does. Planning a wedding can be quite stressful, so it definitely helps to have people that are reliable and trustworthy at your disposal. With that said, I wholeheartedly recommend Rabbi Barry as an officiant. The ceremony is arguably the most important part of a wedding, so make sure you know who's presiding over it!
