  Overall amazing!

  She's the best baker you can find for any occasion. Her cakes are super fluffy and moist, the fillings are delicious and the sky is the limit, and the icings are not too sweet and are overall well balanced!!
  
  Everything was super easy - the first response on my email was really quick and extremely detailed (she obviously took a lot of time and effort to answer all of my questions). She's such a warm-hearted person that we needed only one phonecall to talk about all important questions and everything was planned with great email communication in less than a week.
  
  Being creative with her was such a pleasure and even if you don't know at first how everything's gonna look like in the end or if you just have a rough idea at first, she will be there patiently, supportive, and helpful until you are absolutely happy with the end result.
  
  She was super flexible to offer us a cake tasting during these tough times and it was the most amazing cake tasting you could ever imagine. We just stayed at our wedding venue and she made it possible that we could stop by on our way home, got this wonderful variety of her cakes and fillings to get an idea of what she's offering and it was so wonderful to meet the person behind the scenes.
  
  She's gonna make our wedding cakes and 3 three tires filled with unique and special cupcakes for our wedding. I'm so excited and happy that she's gonna be a part of the most important day of our lives.

  Best Money Spent

  I couldn’t recommend Deborah enough. From our initial consultation all the way to the wedding day we have received nothing short of exemplary service and value. I can’t imagine the wedding with any other cake. If you’re looking for the best cake for your wedding, look no further. Deborah was hands down the best money we spent on the wedding. We will definitely steer any friends we come across to her!

  Best. Cake. Ever.

  Deb was incredible. Not only did she bake the world's most delicious wedding cake that tasted like a s'more - but she made my father-in-law a birthday cupcake and my bridesman a strawberry cupcake to make them feel special. It was perfect - the cake was beautiful and DELICIOUS. I would trust her with any special event.

  Deborah's made our wedding cake in June and I can't say emough good things about her! She was easy to work with, her prices are fair and she was willing to go the extra mile to make our cake even nicer than the photo I gave her to work from. Our friends are still raving about how moist and delicious the cake was and that frosting!!! I have recommended her to all my friends and I can't wait to eat her cake agoin at their weddings!

  Deb was a joy to work with! She made our groom's cake and wedding cake, and I am still hearing from guests how delicious the cakes were. She was super responsive, had great ideas for our cakes, and is a lovely, professional person to speak with. Definitely recommend.

  Her cakes are the best by far! The tres leches cake with italian buttercream and caramel on top was soooo good. Only regret is that we should have bought two! Our bridal cake was also amazing! Deborah was patient with me through the whole process, was flexible and let me have any flavor combinations I wanted, even in the same cake! It was great, because each flavor was someone's favorite, so it worked well to make sure everyone was happy. She even decorated my cake at the event and made it look so perfect! I was amazed and am very grateful she was able to make our cakes. Now, I'm just trying to figure out the next time I will be in town with an event so I can get another cake!! Thanks, Deborah!

Not only did I feel that Deborah was an exceptional baker (there is no better tasting cake anywhere as far as I'm concerned), but I could see that she was also an artist and could create my dream wedding cake for me. Additionally, and very important in my experience, Deb Dykstra took the time to care about me as a bride.   WE loved Deb's cake and we loved Deb! She did a fabulous job bringing our vision to life, and she was super responsive and sweet. The cake was yummy, BEAUTIFUL, and just what we wanted at a super affordable price. She worked so well with our other vendors and was perfect for what we wanted!!

  We had a great experience with Deborah's cakes! She made a lovely and delicious cake for us that fit our wedding style perfectly! Also Deborah is fun to work with! I recommend her to any bride & groom looking for a baker!

  I discovered Deborah's Specialty Cakes through my venue, The Taylor Grady House, and their list of vendors. My mom and I drove to Athens one day to meet with Deborah, who does the cakes from her home. She was very enthusiastic about her cakes and baking. I knew I wanted a naked cake, which she had done before. We talked about how many people we needed it to feed and she brought out some Styrofoam squares and circle to represent cake shapes and sizes. We ended up going with a round bottom, square middle, and round top. She let us taste multiple cake, filling, and icing flavors. We had a hazelnut chocolate cake and a chocolate chip cake. She made notes and drawings of exactly what I wanted. A few weeks before my wedding, she called me to confirm everything. The cake was delicious! I am betting that the top layer that we have in the freezer will even be good...she gave us special instructions on how to freeze it the right way. The only critique I have is that on the day of the wedding they brought it an hour after our scheduled delivery time. Nothing had started yet, so there was no interruption, it was just late. It still tasted great! And all of my guests loved the naked cake style!

  Mrs. Deb is a cake artist! Her cake was delicious! I gave her a 3 on Quality b/c I wanted a really unusual looking cake and it didn't turn out the way I envisioned it. But I think if you want a typical flowery wedding cake, her cakes defy and exceed the standard of wedding cakes. I was very impressed with her cakes that she had done for others. I wish I had chosen another cake design without trying to be "artsy", but the cake was really really delicious! PLEASE trust me and use another baker. We even gave her a month to make things right and she wouldn't! I'm posting this on every wedding site in hopes that no one else will have to go through what we did.

  I am sorry that you were not happy with your cake. I delivered your cake in a timely and professional manner and your mother even exclaimed that "Katie is going to love her cake" when she saw it. I delivered exactly the cake that you ordered . I would never intentionally upset one of my brides. There was nothing for me to make right since I did nothing wrong to interfere with your day. It is unfortunate that a misunderstanding between you and your venue has caused you to write negative and untrue statements about my business. If you would like to discuss anything with me please do call since you never even called me before posting this review and that seems pretty unfair.
