Nicki is just the best photographer that my partner and I could have asked for!! I tend to be very camera shy but Nicki made me feel effortlessly natural and she did not make me do some corny poses (haha!). One of the reasons why my partner and I loved Nicki's work was because how diverse her clientele was with couples from varying cultural backgrounds and sexualities, and she was also very understanding of our request for anonymity due to personal reasons. She also has a very good eye for all amazing spots around the city. We went to West Village for our photoshoot, and Nicki showed us some simple, yet amazing spots that I just couldn't have imagined would look so beautiful on camera. She was also very prompt in providing us with a "sneak peek" within 18-24 hours of the photoshoot. All in all, to anyone who is looking for a fantastic photographer in NYC who is amazingly talented and a consummate professional, look no further! -

Elopement photos
My partner and I consider ourselves to be introverted and a bit awkward, so the idea of having our elopement photos taken in NYC felt daunting. We worried it would be forced and uncomfortable, especially with the city’s crowds. But the moment we met Nicki—just minutes before our City Hall ceremony—her warm smile instantly put us at ease. She was an absolute joy to work with, making the experience feel natural and effortless. She selected the most stunning city backdrops and captured intimate moments we’ll treasure forever.
We’re already thinking about our next event just so we can work with her again. Highly recommend! -

NYC Elopement
What can I say, Nicki, you truly are amazing. I cannot recommend Nicki enough. Nicki was very responsive and I was very last minute, but that was not an issue for Nicki. Nicki made us feel so comfortable, and she took some amazing photos that my husband and I will cherish forever. I was in two.minds about whether or not to have a professional photographer, but it was the beat decision we made, so if anybody else is pondering this, DO IT! Nicki, you are just a genuinely lovely lady, who captures the special moments of people's special occasions, so that we can cherish them for a lifetime. We will hopefully visit again in the future, and book you for an anniversary shoot 😊. -

Nicki from De Nueva Photography captured our NYC elopement in January 2024. Her casual manner helped settle our nerves and relax in front of the camera and her keen eye for colour, form and style resulted in exactly the photos we wanted - fun, natural and quintessentially “us”. Before the day, Nicki provided valuable assistance to us which helped us plan our NYC wedding from Australia. And we have heard glowing compliments from our family and friends of the images she captured for us. We can’t recommend De Nueva photography highly enough. Thank you Nicki. -

I don’t even know where to start—Nicki is AMAZING, pure and simple. We hired her for our pandemic elopement in 2021 and loved her so much, we hired her again for our church wedding and reception in August 2022!
To start, her work is impeccable. Nicki manages to capture the joy of the day with candid and loosely posed photos that feel so natural and so YOU. Every shot looks like it belongs in a magazine—her composition and color/edits are SPOT ON and will make everyone you know stop and stare. She provides plenty of pics for the amount of time she’s with you (we received approx 150-200 for 2 hour elopement within 2 months, with several previews next day to share with our family and friends, and the same deal proportionally for the reception) and each one is stunning and worth printing. Nicki doesn’t give a ton of direction, preferring to let you and your boo be yourselves and capture that, so something to be aware of. But she makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera, I can’t imagine wanting anything else!
Beyond that, Nicki is simply a lovely human being and a wonderful professional to work with. Our elopement was plagued by every issue you could imagine (think spontaneous hurricane in NYC forcing last minute date and location changes!!!) and she rolled with the punches beautifully, like the calm in the center of our storm. Super responsive to the last minute and prepared for anything, she made sure we were all set, and even trekked through the rain with us to our original location to ensure we got the photos we envisioned for our day. For all the drama that could have been, she kept us smiling and laughing through it, and our happiness shows in every photo. It rained again a year later during our reception, and still she had us beaming through it all. I can’t praise her enough!!!! -

Nicki was the best decision that we made for our wedding! She was available to answer every question we had. She is experienced and caring: the full package! I almost walk down the aisle without my family (they were lost in Central Park!) but Nicki quickly let me know so I wouldn't enter without them being there. This is the kind of photographer/vendor you want in your wedding. She was patient with my family and ALL of them were talking about how amazing she was and the quality of the pictures in the sneak peek. Just amazing! -

Nicki was fantastic to work with for our small ceremony. Even though it was 90+ degrees, Nicki kept us motivated, happy, and captured incredible photos of us. She was on time, very flexible and managed to fit in all the various shots we wanted. The photos we've received thus far are absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to see the full set. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great photographer for their intimate day. -

Nicki was very easy to correspond with via email. She helped us pick a great location for our ceremony and had great spots for different pictures. We had a two hour session and I felt as if every picture was magazine worthy! -

After a lot of research on elopement photographers in NYC, we booked Nicki and I couldn't be more pleased with Nicki's service and photos!
Me and my new husband are by no means models, and thought the photo part of the day would be daunting. Nicki completely put us at ease, knowing exactly how to get the most out of our 1 hour with her. She made me and my husband so comfortable and we pretty much laughed the whole way through.
Later that night, Nicki sent a 'sneak peak' through so we could share with our friends. I loved them, and 3 weeks later we had our full album. The pictures are mindblowing, their quality is insane we are over the moon with them!
I have no hesitation to recommend Nicki at De Nueva Photography.

Such beautiful moments captured
We first met Nicki when we were looking for a photographer for our Coney Island engagement shoot. We live in NJ but wanted a NY-based photographer who knew their way around Brooklyn. Her pictures really stood out- they were bright, candid, and fun-loving. She promised and delivered on everything she said. She is professional, down to earth, and kind. After our shoot we knew we wanted to book her for our PA wedding. It was a relief to see her again and work with her on our special day. We felt comfortable and relaxed because working with her is a breeze. The formal portraits were smooth sailing and everything else before and after that was fun and easy-going. Our pictures are beautiful and capture the important moments - a laugh, an awkward moment, a romantic look, a funny dance move, etc. We are so fortunate to have found her and don’t expect this to be the end of our relationship with her. We traveled from the UK to New York to get wed on The Top of The Rock. We’d booked Nicki online because we thought her photos looked fantastic... she did not disappoint! We thought we’d have a couple of lovely images to remember out wedding day but were delighted as we’ve got lots. Nicki uses amazing colour and we especially loved our black and white images. She is a lovely person and did a fantastic job. We highly recommend her . Thank you Nicki! -

She suggested sunrise photographs which was a brilliant idea as we had the city to ourselves, fantastic lighting and our choice of locations. We flew into NYC from Canada to elope and she helped us so much with recommendations of locations and other vendors! She was so flexible to work with as well, helping me plan the schedule for the day and then also helping me change the schedule just a couple weeks before the wedding.
The day of our wedding was so fun with Nicki, she made us feel right at home and so comfortable, even though it was a pretty cold windy day - hence my coat being on in a lot of our pictures.
Even though it was around the holidays, Nicki got our photos back to us really quickly!
The evening of our wedding she had posted 5-10 photos on her blog as a sneak-peak as well, which was also really cool! Our wedding was on the 13th of December and we had our photos by Dec 29th, and they were stunning! We couldn't believe how natural we looked in the photos, especially since we both would consider ourselves awkward in photos.
Hands down would recommend Nicki to anyone planning an elopement or wedding in NYC!

Jeremy Sent on 01/05/2018De Nueva Photography was hired to photograph our wedding and did a phenomenal job. Nicki was an amazing photographer. She got all the shots we needed so quickly! And during the ceremony & reception, we never noticed her, but she always there, photographing away... she is a photo ninja! Our family loves all the great photos from this special day.
The photos were not only stunning, but we also received them sooner than we expected. The delivery of the photos (online and via flash drive by mail) was very professional. Can't recommend this company enough. -

We contacted her many months before our elopement, and she was informative and helpful from the very beginning. Coming from out of state, we had many questions during the time leading up to our wedding day, and she was always quick to reply with great information and suggestions. And, our wedding day couldn't have been more perfect. It was such a pleasure to spend our morning with her, and our photos are absolutely stunning. She even sent us a sneak peak within 24 hours so that we could share some pictures immediately with family and friends! We would absolutely recommend De Nueva Photography and could not be happier with our experience.

Paul Sent on 11/07/2017We travelled from the UK to NYC for our wedding in September 2017 and hired Nicki to cover the big day for us. From initial contact through to ongoing logistical queries Nicki was very responsive and went out of her way to make sure we got all the help we needed. The De Nueva website also helped us with general advice in the run up to the big day including how to go about getting our license, officiant and the excellent Peter Yanello of Checker Cars. Nicki provided great advice and ideas as to locations for our shoot which were tailor made as to our previous experiences and favourite haunts in the City. In the run up to the big day Nicki also kindly liaised with our transportation vendor Peter directly so that we were all on point as to pick up times and locations, which put our mind at rest and helped us enjoy the day without having to think about logistics. Neither Lee Anne nor I are huge fans of being that side of a camera but Nicki put us at ease as soon as we met and continued to help make us feel comfortable throughout the fun shoot (which I hoped the attached pics reflect!). We received the final edited pictures back from Nicki four weeks after the wedding which was exactly as promised and we are delighted with the results. We can't thank Nicki enough and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
