    Sharon was wonderful

    I went to my cousin's celebration of life today. I was blown away at the venue, the professionalism, the organization and the decorations. Sharon greeted each of us, I assume she may be the manager or planner. She was wonderful and had this event run so smoothly and accommodating. I never would have thought of something like this, but I will definitely be using this venue for something soon and will be contacting Sharon. THANK YOU!!!

    So glad I found this place!

    We had our wedding reception at the DC Centre. From initial contact to the day of our wedding, everything was seamless and very well communicated. Sharon Dooley was really a pleasure to work with and the staff working the night of the wedding was wonderful. They put up my centerpieces and decorations exactly as I wanted and everything turned out beautiful! The food was really good as well! I would highly recommend the DC Centre for wedding receptions because my experience was amazing AND affordable. Thanks DC Centre!

    Very Magical!

    The DC Centre was so flexible and very affordable! The venue is so beautiful and the staff was amazing! i highly recommend this venue!

    Absolutely excellent

    Since getting engaged I have been overwhelmed with the thought of finding a venue but the second I walked into the DC Centre I felt like they had taken all of my stress and they were ready to help me plan my dream day! Sharon and Denise were so friendly and gave me so much great information and the booking process was easy and quick! I could not be happier with my choice!

    Dream come true wedding at a budget.

    We got married on 11.24.18 at the DC Centre in Omaha, Ne. My husband paid for the entire wedding so we were on a tight budget.. BUT you would’ve never been able to tell! Dc Centre went above & beyond to make sure our day was more than perfect & working with Denise made the planning stress free! They provided the open bar and catered the food. They also did the decorations.. I did my centerpieces. Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful the venue was. I highly recommend them!

    Wedding reception

    The staff was so great to work with! They catered to what we wanted and what our visions were! Our room captain set up all of our decorations and did such a great job. He also made the night of our reception go so smoothly!! Everyone complimented the set up and the food! It was everything we imagined and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have an event!!

    Truly amazing

    We absolutely loved our experience from start to finish. We love that everything is cooked fresh and inhouse, no catering required. It is awesome that they set up and take down everything for you also. To some, the price might seem like a lot, but this is the best bang for your buck you can get. There is so much more awesome stuff included that I haven't even mentioned. They made our wedding day go smoothly and took a lot off stress off of us.

    SHARON WAS AMAZING. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS. THE STAFF WAS GREAT AT RECEPTION. I ALSO HAD MY REHEARSAL DINNER HERE, HOWEVER WHEN WALKING THROUGH THE PRACTICE RUN WE WERE A LITTLE CONFUSED ON HOW THINGS WERE TO BE DONE. MOST TIMES PASTORS LEAD AT A CHURCH, BUT BEING OUT OF THE CHURCH IT WAS A LITTLE CONFUSING.

    First, let me say how Gorgeous the inside of this place is! I'm very picky and wanted a beautiful place to have my reception and the DC Centre was love at first sight! Sharon was so great at accommodating all of our wishes. They were super affordable(huge plus!) and I still have people telling me how delicious the food at our wedding was! ( they do inside catering). Thank you, DC Centre!

    We had a very positive experience working with the DC Centre. Maggie was our main contact, and throughout the process she was available for meetings that were convenient for us. She was very clear in her communication from the start and very responsive if we did have questions. I loved that the only surprises were positive ones, extras thrown in! Kudos to Maggie and the whole staff making this reception a success.

    The DC Centre has a very friendly and helpful staff. Maggie and Sharon were great responding to calls and emails. Any question I had, they happily answered. The ceremony and reception went flawlessly.

    If you're looking for a place to get married, then DC Centre is the place to look! Not only is it a beautiful venue on the outside and inside, the staff (especially Maggie), are so easy to work with! DC also has affordable prices, which is awesome!

    I was overwhelmed with how the DC Centre went above and beyond for us! Always willing to accomodate and the night of the reception could not have been better. Their staff catered to our every need, the food was amazing (all my guests told me they had the best mashed potatoes ever!) and they even helped us with the decorations the day of. I couldn't have had a better experience anywhere else and it was a fraction of the cost of another pricey venue :)

    We had our daughter's wedding reception at DC Centre last weekend. It was a truly wonderful experience. We worked with Maggie-she is a rock star! The food was delicious, the staff was helpful and friendly. We could not have been happier! The staff did 100% of the set up and tear down.....even packing up the left over cake & cupcakes. They hosted a brunch for us on Sunday morning which was excellent. When we arrived, brunch was ready AND all of our items were loaded onto carts so we could easier load up the car. I would HIGHLY recommend DC Centre to anyone looking for a venue.

    We first met with Sharon D. who was so wonderful to us. I told her our price range and she totally provided everything we wanted within our budget. We had the Gold Ballroom and we had our wedding and reception at the DC Center on 10/28/12 and thoroughly loved this venue! The best part is they set up and take down everything, which is a huge stress reliever as a bride! We dropped everything off 2 days before and they set it all up for us the way I asked.(So thankful that they even did my water beads for me) The wedding was scheduled for 4 pm and Sharon was so nice to make sure we were able to get in at 1 pm. I absolutely LOVED the Bridal Suite it was perfect for me to get ready in, I LOVED the large restroom also and had a number lock so I could leave valuables in the Suite. The room was HUGE and gorgeous, food was awesome (Loved the mashed potatoes), and I never had a problem throughout the whole planning process! Sharon response time to voice mail and e-mails was GREAT she answered all my questions and every time we met we always had great conversation. I would definitely recommend the DC Centre!!!!!!

    Great food and very flexable and excelent customer service. They helped out with everything. The room attendant made things so easy I did not have to worry about decorations or clean up. Fit perfect in my budget and THE BEST food I have ever had at a reception! I would refer anyone to go to them for their reception!

    We had an amazing reception!!! Food...Amazing! Staff...Superb!! I did not have to worry about the details they handled them all! The staff went out of their way to help me get the reception I always wanted without breaking my parents bank :) I have already recomended them to a couple of friends and my sister is getting married their in September and I am sure it will be just as great!

    I could not have asked for a better venue for our ceremony and reception. Everyone was so helpful, calm, friendly and professional. They helped me think things out that I hadn't thought through yet, they answered every question I asked completely and with honesty (which I found that not all places would do), and they worked with our budget. In between our ceremony and reception, they provided all of the switcharoos quickly, quietly and efficiently. I felt safe, and trusted them with our wedding day without hesitation. The food was so much more than we expected (we did a buffet), and the service excellent. The atmosphere was exactly what I hoped for in my wedding...non-traditional, relaxed, unique ceremony, and a party of a reception! The dance floor was the perfect size..big enough so that everyone can dance freely...and everyone did! I loved that we had lighting options to help set the mood and match my wedding scheme. The only thing I would caution one about is that the bridal room is very small, has only one outlet (however, it is directly attached to the bridal restroom which has plenty of room for a large dress, and another outlet in there), so I would recommend getting ready elsewhere, bring along a power strip for touchups, and a lamp or two if you don't like the flourescent lighting. Also, there is only one small couch in there, so if the bridesmaids want to hang out in there too, bring in chairs, or hang out elsewhere. However, if you have your ceremony somewhere else, this is a perfect venue for a reception! Plenty of space, and I didn't feel like I needed to do much decorating because the venue is so classy on it's own!

    We worked with Dennise at the DC Centre. From the beginning of the planning process, she was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. She helped us through each step of selecting our food, helping us coordinate our decorations with the facility's, and coordinating our reception timeline. Our room captain for the reception was Patrick, and he was very professional and made the entire night go smoothly. I highly recommend the DC Centre for a wedding reception as an exceptional value.

    Although I did not book with DC Centre because I found something sooner, I was extremely impressed with their staff. The lady I spoke with was honest and eager to be of any assistance. She said even if I found another venue she would be happy to help! I have not helped plan any weddings previously so I wuized her about some sort of a checklist of when I should do certain things. She was very nice and a lot of help. If I hadnt found a place already I most likely would have booked just for the amazing staff!

    I had a wedding reception at the DC Centre. They exceeded my expectations.

    During the planning process, the sales manager guided me through all the decisions and was very flexible with scheduling meetings because I was from out of town. She was professional and offered a high quality level of service.

    On the day of the event, the room was set up and it was gorgeous. I dropped off decorations in advance, and the staff had everything set up perfectly before guests arrived. The food was amazing. The room captain was attentive and helped make sure everything ran smoothly, including handling one incident with a guest.

    One thing that was unexpected was that the room had the capacity for 200 people, but the 112 guest we had was pretty packed for the seated dinner. I think it was the perfect size for our guest count.

    Overall, the DC Centre is an amazing value. I have no complaints. I highly recommend this facility.

    Made our wedding day so beautiful!

    We had an afternoon wedding, had both our ceremony and reception there. We had hors d’oeuvres, our own snack table, and cake and dry beverage package. The ballroom fit our guest size well, about 160-170 people, and the staff transitioned the room for us from ceremony set up to the reception layout with the food tables and dance floor. The outdoor arch/garden was a beautiful photo scene for us, and the indoor decor looked so good with the decorations we brought as well. No major catastrophes or complaints, definitely recommend!

    I used DC Centre for both my wedding ceremony and reception. The planning process was very smooth. I worked with Sharon who was so energetic and responsive to my questions. I appreciated her quick feedback, especially via email for little questions along the way. There was a slight mix up with which day my decor needed to be dropped off, but it worked out in the end. I think the struggle is there are so many different workers who make their facility run that it depends on who you speak to upon the week of the event.
    The day of the event, I loved our room manager. I chose this venue not only for the price and everything included, but because I know they do NOTHING but big events, so they know what they're doing. Our room manager demonstrated that by making sure all of our things were found (with a bit inebriated guests), our gifts and sign-in stuff were packed with who needed to take everything, and that everything ran smoothly during the transitions between ceremony to dinner to reception.

    I had an event for my anv. They took the worry out of the entire event! The planning was so simple! I knew exactly what I was paying for and did not have to worry about an extra bar or security bill the next day! The room was beautiful and the staff was on top of everything. We had a couple of family members that arrived late so we asked that they served the meal a little later. They did it without a second thought. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to hold an event to remember!!

    Our experience at the DC centre

    Everything was great besides when we would put our drinks down to dance, they would clear them and we would have to get new drinks. I don’t think we finished one drink the entire night.

    Overall very pleased. The hall was beautiful and at the beginning very nice to work with the people. We had a last minute change with them to have the ceremony moved there because of weather for outside ceremony. They were very flexible and accommodated us. During the night though things were a little rushed and the coordinator was very abrupt with one of our host couples and guests. Very polite to the bride and groom though. We had a major issue about uncooked chicken. Majority of our guests we called said their chicken was uncooked. We had 2 pregnant bridesmaids which one of them got sick from it. A couple people had gotten sick including my husband! We had about 60 or so guests that made comments to my mother about the chicken. We brought it up to our coordinators and they came to the conclusion that they didn't want to reconcile anything with us. They basically gave us the answer we already got paid and you can't prove it. At this point we got the health department involved. I don't know how much investigating they did but if they looked at the tapes you would see how much food was returned to the kitchen. Overall, very pleasant at the beginning but I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!! Not good people to do business with.

    I loved this place for our wedding reception. It was absolutely beautiful and reasonably priced. I was a little nervous at first when someone told me they have more than one reception going on at the same time and that we might be able to hear the other reception. But we didn't. The walls were incredibly sound proof. They were very helpful with decorating and the food was amazing.

    The DC Centre has a lovly site. Their value for the money is very good. Patrick our manager for the evening was fantastic. He did a great set up and was very willing to help in anyway. The food was great. THe thing I didn't like is the sales person was always in a hurry. I always felt rushed when I talked to them. This was my big day and I was holding both my wedding and my reception at the same location. They only allowed is in 2 hours early for pictures which made everything rushed. If it would have been nicer outside it would have been different but we were dealing with late March. I wish they could have been more flexible and not as rushed with the sales department. Great kudos to Patrick and his staff. They took good care of us!

    My husband and I were just married at this venue in early July, and I must say that after over a year of planning everything turned out to be absolutely wonderful! Everything was beautiful! We had our ceremony in the outdoor patio area and the groundskeepers finished pulling weeds at maybe 3:45 ish (the ceremony was at 4:30) but it looked great. The ballroom where our reception was held was absolutely beautiful. We never were given to opportunity to try the food before our wedding so we blindly picked what sounded good and hoped for the best. We chose brisket and Italian chicken. The first batch of brisket had to have been sitting for a while because it was cold and very rubbery, but the second batch was delicious from what I was told. The china used was very clean, the downside is that all the beverages were served in plastic cups which I didn't care for I thought it looked tacky, but I guess that isn't that big of a deal. Our room manager was very helpful and always asked when they should take the food away, how long it should be left out for, and so on. The value is very very good just make sure you know how many people are going to attend your wedding so you don't end up over paying. They WILL NOT drop the number you give them when you book it. Even if it is significantly less.

    Ceremony and reception venue

    The Dc Centre experience was somewhere in the middle of best and worst. They followed through with almost everything that was discussed. Everyone was nice and welcoming and planning went great. Sharon was a little hard to get ahold of at times. Overall, the wedding flowed beautifully and was set up per our expectations, minus a little flaw that we were supposed to have mirrors under the centerpieces, but somehow that didn’t get on the event document.
    The food was good.. Recently, they added two options for the taco bar entree.
    The room captain was the biggest issue. My husband and I were told the room captain will be in the room the whole time making sure everything flowed nicely. The night of the event, they had two room captains and three weddings, so the room captains roamed between all three. After the ceremony we had to track down the room captains. Dinner was 30-45 min late getting changed over and the champagne and the toasting glasses for the head table never happened. Only for the bride and groom and we didn’t get to take the bottle home.
    The DC Centre also promised to help to pack up gifts and decor and help take to our cars. That didn’t happen either. Luckily the security guard found a cart for us to use.
    They definitely need more help if they have multiple weddings and it would be helpful to add later hours for meetings.

    Good vendor, very accomading but lied to

    We booked in Sept. 2017 and we're told we would get to look at our set up that Friday multiple times if we dropped our stuff off Wednesday by Sharon. Well, we got there and they said it wouldn't be set up until Saturday morning because another person had booked. Then they wanted us to come in and set our own chair covers up in Saturday during the course before our wedding. I explained to them I booked this over a year ago as my wedding was 12/8/18. Later my fiancé even came in and requested some sort of discount for our inconvenience and lying to us and they still didn't give us one. I cried which isn't how I wanted to spend a few days before my wedding. We also had it paid off waaaayyyyyyy in advance so we were very good customers. Denise was wonderful to work with. We started working with her towards the end. I had met and been st the D.C. Centre multiple times before our wedding and not once did they mention this to me or my fiancé. I felt betrayed and lied to 😞. I had bragged before this about how excited we were to use this facility and have our reception here. It still turned out nice and everyone that night seemed to have s good night. Staff that night were also very polite.

    I'll start with the positives. The food was tremendous ... everyone at our reception commented on how great it was. I also really liked working with Shelly, she was great and very quick at responding to any questions we had. She made everything crystal clear as far as what we could expect on the night of our reception. She wasn't available the night of our reception and the manager of the facility was going to be there to oversee our night. It would take too long to type it all out, but I will say that at the end of the night the manager flat out told one of my guests how much we actually paid to use the facility. That is NOT ok with me ... it is very unprofessional to disclose that kind of information.

    The facility was where we had our reception. They were able to give us the food and beverages we wanted at a good price, but the staff we had for our wedding reception were by far professional. It seemed like they were around 18yrs old and they were not groomed very well.

    Short staffed and it showed!!

    The planning process with DC Centre was great. They made it very easy. The Venue is beautiful and the food was amazing. When I arrived with my decor I was told how they were short handed and the lady said she was running a little bit behind. Very unprofessional to be talking about that. Then the day of my wedding I was met with the same information, 3 people called in sick and I had to share a room coordinator as mine had to be the bartender. The bartender ran out of beer and wine for a good hour. I had to wait for wine to even do the toast at my own wedding. The plates were dirty before we even ate. The server had long hair and he kept flipping it all over right in front of the food with no hair net on. The shared space for the bride/bridal party was all taken over by another wedding party. I was yelled at by another bride for taking pictures in the bridal suite for 15 minutes before she even got in there and was told that it was HER space that she paid for. However, I was under the impression that it was shared. That wedding party left everything in both rooms which made it hard to get in to go to the bathroom during my reception. I had asked for the isle to be wide enough for 3 people to walk down. I had to have my fathers walk behind me because there wasn’t enough room. I knew things would go wrong, but I didn’t expect it to be this ridiculous. I had to just let everything roll off my back because there was nothing I could have done to make any of this better. The only things that went wrong had to do with the venue and their staff. I don’t like to complain and I wouldn’t have had only one or 2 things been off.

    Before I explain my rating I wanted to first say that the day of coordinator was actually perfect. He was very helpful and the day went very smoothly and I really couldn't have asked for anything better. My review is simply about the before wedding hassle that I had to deal with. This place added so much unneeded stress to my planning process it was ridiculous. There were multiple times where they said they would do something only to come back and tell me they couldn't do it. First they told me that I could use their bowls for the candy bar that I wanted to do, when I asked how many they had and the sizes they told me that I couldn't use them and claimed they never told me I could. When I walked through during my first meeting they had a wedding set up with 8 per table and I thought it looked really nice and I wanted to do that for my wedding and they said no problem and then when I called back to ask how many tables I would have so I could figure out my centerpieces. They first rudely said that I am asking too early and that I don't need to worry about it till a month before ( I was about 6 months out). I had to pay for all the decorations myself and I needed to figure out what was affordable based on the amount of tables I had a month before was not enough time to figure this out. They then told me that I would get 9 per table because they never do 8 per table..... a couple months after that my cousin got married there and she had 8 per table..... I wanted to put my cake higher than the sheet cakes I had ordered from hyvee so I asked if they had anything I could use to prop my cake up higher and they said yes no problem. A week before I was checking everything and they said that they never said they had anything and that I would have to figure it out on my own. The final thing that kind of irritated me is they force you to use there food which is fine the chicken that we had was delicious, but they don't let you taste it before the wedding.

    I have a bit of a mixed review for this venue. They also catered our food & our beverage package In the very beginning, DC Centre was very accommodating. Shortly after we booked with them, we had to push our date two weeks, they allowed us to rebook for free and were very supportive through the whole ordeal. After that, help kind of trailed off... Working with Dennise was very confusing. She often got dates/times wrong, and never documented that we scheduled our rehearsal (good thing I followed up on that one). On the day of, things got even more frustrating. I was assured several times that our room decor would be set up by 1pm, so that I could come look at things and make sure "their vision was my vision." Showing up at 130 with my bridesmaids, the staff had placed the wrong cake in our room, nothing was set up (a few unfinished centerpieces had been placed out). So we spent a good 45 minutes doing everything for them and tracking down the correct cakes. THEN come to find out that Dennise put the wrong time for dinner on our paperwork, we were told dinner at 630, with a 15 min window either way, she told the event staff dinner no earlier than 7. Our room captain (who was MIA most of the night) said he'd comp a bottle of champagne for our troubles.... still waiting on our champagne. This room captain also assured my husband that the music from the reception next door would be kept down low during our ceremony. NOPE instead, no one heard our vows or readings. Oh, and still waiting on that code to the bridal suite so I could go to the bathroom. Bottom line, DC Centre is very affordable, but not worth the headaches.

    The venue was nice. However, I purchased 4 trays of food (it was a small gathering) and the cost for the food was around 550 dollars. They brought the food in and after NINETY minutes they came in and told me that they had to remove the food for "health reasons" after it had been out for this amount of time. REALLY?? Cheese and crackers, a vegetable tray, and a fruit tray?? I had rented the room from noon til 6. I had guests at the party and they pullled the trays!!They told me that if they left it out longer than they would be responsible if someone got sick on the food since it was out too long. To that I say, PUT AN ICE SHEET UNDER THE TRAYS to keep it at an appropriate temperature. Then, they told me that I could not take ANYof it home. My guests had only eaten about 1/6 of the food. I was really upset. I asked them what they did with the food and I was told that it was "donated" to a homeless shelter. I purchased the food(at quite a profit margin for the DC CENTRE) and then they pulled the food and KEPT it. Of course, with guests at the party I didn't want to make a scene - but something feels sooo wrong about this.

    The good and the bad about DC Centre

    We got married in April and there were good and bad things about the DC Centre.

    The good:
    They set up all of our decorations, allowed us to do the ceremony in the same spot, put the chairs up, tore everything down and set up for dinner. Gave us the freedom to do what we wanted with the ceremony and decorations. It is a nice/beautiful venue the space is nice when everything is set up. Especially on a budget.

    The bad:
    The bartender did not show up. They had a backup but she was extremely slow - there was only 1 bartender and it took 20-30 minutes for our guests to get a drink. It was frustrating all night for guests to get their drinks as a long line built up the entire time.

    Sharon - Sharon overpromises everything. Also very pushy and "sales"-y talking bad about all other venues in omaha. I can't tell you how many times she stated "well no other venue in omaha does this". Its all crap. Other venues do. Unprofessional way of pitching the venue.

    Speaking of the overpromising: The cleanup. Sharon told us that at 10:30-10:45 the room captain will come and ask to pick up decorations, they will take presents out to the car, etc etc. They didnt. At 10:45 we had to ask the room captain when they would pick up and she gave attitude saying "I guess we could help", and was extremely unprofessional. We had to have all of our guests start taking things to the car, taking presents to the car, if we didn't we would have been there until 4 in the morning waiting for them to do it. This was the biggest failure and my biggest complaint of everything, because this is WHY we chose this place to begin with....we didn't want our guests to have to stay after and cleanup….watch the footage! I know you have it.

    The DC centre was extremely persistent on noone bringing in shooters to the venue. Which completely makes sense and is reasonable. We understand you don't want to lose your liquor license. Not 1 guest brought in any shooters or alcohol (we had an open bar). I can tell you though, 1 of their staff members who was underage (high school at Millard North), we saw pouring alcohol into her redbull multiple times. They were so worried about our guests, but had no idea their employees were the ones they should be worried about.

    We paid for Champagne for the toasts. They did not deliver on this either. Mother of the bride had to go ask the room captain for the Champagne and she said "well they need to go to the bar to get it". No, again, this is not what was promised. They finally brought it out after getting upset with the room captain telling her we paid for it — toasts were over by then.

    We had a few guests who needed gluten free meals (we had a pasta bar). We told them ahead of time "oh ya no problem we will do that" - Sharon. Again, didn't deliver. We had to ask where the gluten free meals were. the room captain again got upset, like we were inconveniencing her, acted like she had no idea there was even supposed to be gluten free meals, and she went in the back and brought out cold noodles. Probably not even gluten free. The room captain was so unprepared for all the little details. What was more upsetting though was her overall attitude about it.

    Overall - customer service was HORRIBLE. Everything was great until the night of. The mother of the Bride went to voice her concerns to Jackie and Jackie literally walked away from her. Everyone there was so unprofessional the night of. And we aren't looking for anything, no money back, we don't care. We were an extremely easy going couple. No bridezillas. At the end of the night the we got married, had a great time and it will be a memory forever. It is what it is. Just be aware of all of the overpromising and horrible customer service the night of. I just want others looking at this venue to know. And Sharon, Jackie or anyone else from the DC centre. You know who we are, and you have our numbers, please call us if you want to chat about anything. I doubt you will because you have our money…. 100% honest review.

    For the 8 months that my husband and I worked with our event coordinator, I never felt fully confident in her competence. She would constantly forget things I said, write down wrong information, and was always scatter brained. We had discussed a certain way that my husband and I wanted the room set up for our ceremony and then the reception. It was agreed upon, put in writing, and signed by our event coordinator. To me that meant it was a done deal. When we went in for our 2 week before appointment, we were unpleasantly greeted by our event coordinator, our set up manager, and the owner. The owner, from the get-go, started yelling at my husband and I telling us that we were completely out of line for suggesting such a ridiculous set up, and that in 32yrs he has never seen something so stupid. He said the set up wouldnt work without 10 extra bodies in there helping (which he wanted to charge me $1000.00 extra for when my contract clearly states that he is supposed to take care of all set up tear down and labor) and he said it would take 2hrs to do this set up inbetween ceremony and reception. During this time, he said that because my guests are not special, and I (as a bride) am not special what-so-ever and that i would not be given any favors because frankly, he doesnt care about me. I am simply a person renting a room, i dont own anything, nor do i have any rights in his facility. I tried to explain to him that his event coordinator signed a contract with us stating that she would do this set up for us (no one made her sign this, she willingly did and she said numerous times that this was able to be acoomplished, no problem) and he basically told me he didnt care. It was either his way, or we could just find another place to get married (2 weeks out, none the less). I work as a wedding coordinator at a country club, and my husband did banquet set up for years, but when we tried to explain to him how uncomplicated this set up really was, he said that we didnt know anything compared to him and he didnt care what we do for a living, he knows best. He said that if I was such a good coordinator and knew everything, than I should jsut have the wedding at my own club, but that he assumes that I couldnt afford it because otherwise I probably would have gone that route. Bottom line, this guy is a jerk. How he has managed to keep a business open for 32yrs is beyond me. When i turned him into the BBB, he replied that I was a "rude, demanding, condescending, and belligerent bride" based on our meeting, but I dont even know how thats possible considering I spent that 2hrs that we met with him (which was supposed to be 30min)crying and barely uttering any words.... WHAT A JERK! I highly suggest finding another venue. While we were planning our wedding, we were passed between 3 wedding coordinators and 2 set up managers, probably because this guy is so mean people kept quitting or getting fired! The turn over is outrageous, i dont blame them though. I would hate to work for someone like that too....

    Horrible place and staff

    Daughter was unable to have her reception due to getting diagnosed with cancer. After being told by Sharon today, they can not reschedule and do not get any refund. Sharon is very unprofessional. Do not use the DC center.

    They denied all the previous agreements w/our decorators. Didn't return phone calls. Not enough of the correct type of chair bows. Had to look for room manager for everything, they removed 2 tables which messed up our seating chart. 20mins late bringing snack trays out, had to ask for tables to be cleaned after dinner, they closed 1 bar before 7:30, staff VERY,VERY Rude.Lots of other negatives but at the end of the evening our guests were told to "Get the hell out and get the hell out now. Shame on the DC Center and shame on the SMUG owner. We heard from a few of our vendors how terrible he is and difficult to work with.

    I recently attended a wedding reception at this venue, and this service was so terrible I actually feel compelled to spread the word and warn potential customers there to stay far, far away. I witnessed a female employee (who I later learned was managing the building that evening) being rude to several guests in several different incidents. One such incident was when I saw this employee turn an elderly relative away from the cake table in a cold and rude manner(the cake had already been cut and the bridal party had been served) because she "wasn't ready" even though there were several pieces already cut and on plates. I would only recommend this venue to a couple wanting their guests and loved ones to be treated poorly by a rude staff headed by an unfriendly, angry manager looking for a power trip.
