  A true GEM!

  Derrick is very professional, and he did a wonderful job with our wedding photos. My husband and I were pleased. Everyone who has seen our photos definitely compliment on how beautiful they are. Derrick also surprised us with our wedding video! I literally cried when I watched it for the first time because it was above and beyond what I expected! We felt very comfortable working with Derrick, and he is GOOD at what he does. Definitely will be booking Derrick again for another big life event. He is easy to get a hold of, answers all of your questions, prompt, and friendly. Thanks for doing such an awesome job capturing our day!

  Phenomenal

  Derrick was absolutely phenomenal with our wedding. We booked with him over a year in advance and he made the process extremely smooth. His photos speak for themselves on his talent. He was on time and communicated well. We had a venue with EXTREMELY tricky lightning and he made sure to bring equipment that could work with it. We hired Derrick for photography and videography. He offers lots of additional items you can add to his packages and has flexible services as well. I couldn't have picked a more personable, fun, and talented person to shoot our wedding!

  Derrick came in with amazing energy! I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. I threw him through the loop with a surprise injury on my end and he accommodated with no hesitation. He was diligent and professional!

  We needed up booking Derrick for our engagement and wedding. The pictures came back so clear and amazing. We didn't even noticed him at our wedding due to the fact of him interacting with the guest as if he was family.

  ABSOLUTELY would recommend Derrick and his team as they did a phenomenal job capturing one of the most special days of our lives. The ease of communication, capturing the candids on our wedding day- we seriously couldn't be happier. Thank you again for capturing memories that we'll be able to hold on to forever.

My husband and I looked for weeks for the perfect photograph that was experienced with different skin tones and was within our budget and we couldn’t be more happy with Derrick. Our package include our engagement and wedding pictures both left our family and us speechless with how he captured our love! This is just one of my favorite pictures!

  Amazing Photographer

  DB Photography did a great job for our wedding. I was very picky on making sure I got an amazing photographer and in the end I’m glad it was Derrick. During coordination, he was very responsive. We had zoom meetings to discuss what shots I wanted to make sure he did. On the wedding day, he was super fun. He went above and beyond. I really enjoyed talking to him as we share photography interests. He and his second shooter were really nice and even joined in our dancing as well. I would definitely recommend Derrick. He was really awesome and cool!

  DB Photography x Sykes-Fernando Wedding

  Me and my husband dated for 5 years before he proposed to me on 12/22/2019. We had a small window of time to plan and have our wedding because moving in August. Everyone told us it was near impossible to plan a wedding in less than 1 year, let alone 6 months. However, here we are 1 month post-wedding that was on 06/01/2019. Within that time planning for a wedding, finding the right photographer for the job was difficult, especially since that was the most important part for me. Long story short, none of the photographers I looked up stood out and were way over-priced in my opinion. One day, I attended my mom's Zumba class and another attendee overheard that i was getting married. She recommended DB photography because she was very pleased with his pics of them for their engagement and wedding photos. In addition, Derrick offers reasonable prices for excellent work. I immediately went home and looked him up. Not to sound cliche, but as soon as I saw Derrick's work i was BLOWN away! His photos are very CLEAR and crisp, classy, unique, and make POC (people of color) look damn good! I had to book him. Upon, meeting Derrick, he is very friendly and sociable. He makes you feel comfortable with him like you've known him forever. On the wedding day, he spent the ENTIRE day with us. It had to be over a 12 hour day but still his price was reasonable. From start to finish, his work was quality. Me and my husband are no models, but Derrick made us look Magazine sharp in our pics. He helped us pose and brought out of best qualities in the photos. We plan on booking him for our maternity and family photos in the future. He has become our go-to family photographer :D

  Best Choice we made

  I was referred to DB Photography by a family member who had gotten married in 2016 who had booked with Derrick as her photographer. I had also attended her wedding so I got to see how he worked and his style. He was amazing at her wedding!.
  My then fiance and I decided that DB Photography was the best choice as we had seen the quality of his work, his pricing was definitely reasonable and was willing to travel. His website was well laid out and the different wedding packages were nicely detailed with what was included in each package. We ultimately chose the middle package which included 9 hours of wedding day coverage, an engagement session and our choice of album or prints. Derrick was easy to work with, was very responsive to messages , answered our million questions with no issues and traveled not once but twice; the first time for our engagement session in MD and our wedding in April 2018! Payment was easy too- I was able to setup monthly payments with him by emailing him to send me an invoice to send a check or do an e-payment. Derrick listened to what we wanted and definitely delivered. He was always checking in by email and went over details about a week before. Day of the wedding: He was actually a bit early which is always a good thing! He took shots of our venue, pre events like hair/makeup , bridal suite, grooms room etc.. He took so many photos and captured those amazing moments that my husband and I experienced along with our family and friends. Our venue had so many options for shots and he picked locations and poses that he felt worked for us and knew we would be comfortable with. Our wedding day went so well with Derrick. When he sent me the slideshow link a few weeks after the wedding, I was not prepared for the moments he captured on film. Each shot in the slideshow was better than the last and the quality and attention to detail were second to none. And the entire file of photos he took that he sent us was awesome to have. Derrick was great when we requested to have an album made in addition to the two 13x19 prints that came in our package. It was so hard to pick shots to go in the album and we were okay with adding an extra page to account for it. He was on point with follow up on cost, timeline, and when we would receive the prints and album. When we received the album, we couldn't stop looking through it! We have so many wonderful memories of our wedding captured on film and we have Derrick to thank for it ! I had an amazing experience with DB Photography and would definitely recommend !

Day of the wedding: He was actually a bit early which is always a good thing! He took shots of our venue, pre events like hair/makeup , bridal suite, grooms room etc.. He took so many photos and captured those amazing moments that my husband and I experienced along with our family and friends. Our venue had so many options for shots and he picked locations and poses that he felt worked for us and knew we would be comfortable with. Our wedding day went so well with Derrick. When he sent me the slideshow link a few weeks after the wedding, I was not prepared for the moments he captured on film. Each shot in the slideshow was better than the last and the quality and attention to detail were second to none. And the entire file of photos he took that he sent us was awesome to have. Derrick was great when we requested to have an album made in addition to the two 13x19 prints that came in our package. It was so hard to pick shots to go in the album and we were okay with adding an extra page to account for it. He was on point with follow up on cost, timeline, and when we would receive the prints and album. When we received the album, we couldn't stop looking through it! We have so many wonderful memories of our wedding captured on film and we have Derrick to thank for it ! I had an amazing experience with DB Photography and would definitely recommend !

  Amazing photographer who cares

  Derrick made our experience so much more amazing than I'd expected. He was on time and knew exactly what to do and what images to capture. Derrick is very professional and cares about your experience and making your memories last. We got way more than we expected for the price we paid. I wish I'd done video. Im sad we are so far away because id let him photograph all of our life long memories.
