We not only had our best friends attend our wedding, but Jim became a part of our family in his own special way. His ability to understand and know us with the short amount of time I put on him is uncanny.

The BEST officiant!!
We got married last Sunday, and it was the most perfect ceremony all thanks to Jim!! From start to finish, he was amazing. My now-husband reached out to him first and chatted on the phone to see if he might be a good fit. Then we had a call with all three of us, in which he answered all of my (many, many) questions and talked through the entire process. From there, my then-fiancé and I filled out very detailed questionnaires sent by Jim, which is how he really got to know us! He promptly sent a script of the ceremony, which we were able to edit to make it really fit us. The final product was a ceremony that didn't leave a dry eye in the audience, but incorporated the perfect amount of humor and levity! It was so perfectly tailored to us, and many of our guests asked us afterwards if Jim knew us very personally - it really seemed that way!! He also handled mailing in the marriage license, which was fantastic since we had to leave for our honeymoon. Overall, I can't imagine our wedding day without Jim - you should pick him ASAP for an easy process and perfect wedding ceremony!!!

Fantastic and professional
Jim was amazing! I loved how kind he was over the phone, and he made me feel very comfortable trusting him to officiate our ceremony. Even the day of, we had a mishap where I forgot a key component to bring to the ceremony and he was able to change his speech around last minute to accommodate. Our wedding was absolutely perfect!
The best day of our lives thanks to Jim at Daybreak Ceremonies. Jim is an excellent wedding officiant who put together a beautiful ceremony for my wife and I.
The questionnaires he provided us prior to writing the ceremony made it much more personal to us and how we met eachother.
He was also very flexible with us in regards to time and location, meeting us at a location that was meaningful to us the day after he had returned from an international trip.
Overall, my wife and I couldn't have had a more perfect wedding day thanks to Jim, and we fully recommend his services to anyone looking to get married.

Jim made our wedding day so incredibly special and personalized. He is a true professional in this industry, and could not have been more prepared. From start to finish: he listened, was patient and informative, incredibly kind, and made our ceremony exactly what we wanted. He even offers handfasting, which I jumped at, and it was an absolutely stunning addition to our ceremony.

The best officiant we could've asked for!
Jim made our ceremony so special. He thought of every little detail and helped us feel comfortable in such a big moment. We got so many compliments on what an incredible ceremony it was - so many people thought we had known Jim our whole lives for how perfectly he summed us up as people in his writings. His whole process makes figuring out your perfect ceremony a breeze and he stayed in close contact with us right up until the wedding day! We were married by Jim in May 2023 and could not have had a better experience. He took the time getting to know us, revised our ceremony until it was absolutely everything we wanted it to be. We highly recommend Jim as an officiant! We hired Jim for our non-religious ceremony. Jim had us fill out questionnaires independently, then developed his personalized ceremony script based on our responses. We were offered the opportunity to review and edit well in advance of the wedding, which I felt like reduced a lot of stress for us without taking away from the special moment. Jim was always prompt and clear in his communication and was exactly where he said he would be, when he said he would be there. We recommend Jim!

Jim is the best!
All I asked of him was to make the ceremony lighthearted and fun. He went above and beyond to make the ceremony exactly what I wanted and was great at communicating and making sure we had plenty of time to look over everything and to add any input on the speech. He was so funny and I couldn't stop smiling the entire ceremony. He is a man that wears many hats because he also had such sweet words added in that described exactly how I was feeling so perfectly and made sure that my dad who passed away was mentioned in such a beautiful way! Best decision we made! Oh, not to mention he drove from 1 hour away as well! Absolutely so happy! Thank you so much Jim! Definitely recommend 100 percent :)

Simply the best!
My fiancé and I were going back on forth on if we "needed" an officiant or if we should just get a friend to do it. Trust me when I say, go ahead and book the professional, it makes all the difference. Jim did an amazing job. He was very prompt in responding to emails and phone calls. We spoke with Jim and he had us fill out a questionnaire. From our answers, he developed a ceremony draft. We would send it back and forth with edits until ultimately it became our final ceremony. The final product was literally perfect. It captured all of our emotions and fit who my fiancé and I were as individuals and as a couple. The way Jim delivered the speech, it seemed as if he had known us for years and watched us develop our relationship into love. Guests would come up to us at the reception and ask if Jim was a family friend because the ceremony was so personal and touching. Thank you Jim for the incredible job. You made us laugh, you made us cry, you brought out the emotions in us and made our ceremony the best part of our wedding.

March 20, 21 wedding
Jim was a great officiant! We were so thankful we found him after our search for the one that really worked with us. Jim tailored our ceremony exactly as we asked and modified things in the ceremony as many times as we wanted to make sure it was perfect. Everyone in the crowd was engaged and laughing during certain parts and we couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you Jim for being a part of our special day!

Jim Saved the Day!!
We are a Covid couple and were originally to be married by a friend of ours who lives in NY. 3 weeks prior to our wedding date, our friend had to tell us he could no longer attend nor perform our wedding due to restrictions. We scrambled to find a Minister at our late date and came across Jim. The first conversation I had with Jim I knew he was perfect for our ceremony. An open minded Christian who truly loves what he does and it shows!! Jim was able to get to know my husband and I over the following 3 weeks and created a ceremony that was personal, funny and touching. We recommend Jim to anyone in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area!!!

EXACTLY what we were looking for!
Accommodating, quick to respond, sincere, personal, witty, funny, very reasonably priced, tailored to exactly what we were looking for & overall 10/10 would recommend to every person I know and all you strangers reading this review!
COVID may have forced us to reschedule our big upstate New York wedding, but Jim made it possible for us to still have an intimate, personal ceremony that absolutely exceeded my expectations. We knew it was a longshot, trying to find someone to marry us in the same month we originally planned, but I was honestly shocked at how quickly Jim responded when I reached out. He was extremely accommodating, informative and right away I knew he had to be the one to marry us. After just a few emails back and forth, my now husband & I were amazed at how well Jim already seemed to know who we were as a couple and what mattered to us as we made this commitment to each other. The ceremony Jim came up with described us to a T and could not have been more perfect for us as a couple. Jim truly takes the time to put words to paper that matter and are unique to those he is speaking about. Thank you Jim for making our ceremony special and truly unique.

Absolute Gem
We had to make alternate plans for our wedding because of COVID concerns.. and well, the state of the world in these times. Jim was an absolute diamond in the rough. He helped us quickly plan our small, intimate ceremony, while not compromising on ANY of the details! He was very informative, walked us through the whole process, and made our day even better than we could have imagined! There was no stressing, and he there to answer any question or concern we had! The Perfect Ceremony
We didn’t put a ton of thought into what we wanted out of our wedding ceremony, other than something short and sweet. However, after Jim and Dawn created the PERFECT ceremony, I know that we were truly blessed to find and hire them. Our ceremony was unlike any other (my husband and I are 32 years old and have attended our fair share of weddings) and all of our guests were tearing up and smiling the entire time! I love that our ceremony was unique to our relationship (be sure to fill out the questionnaires separately!) and something different than a bunch of bible verses and standard vows. Whatever you want your ceremony to be, Daybreak Ceremonies will be sure to make it happen!

Couldn't have asked for a better wedding officiant
Jim is simply the best. When looking for an officiant, we didn't really know where to start but we are SO grateful that we found Jim. From the first intro phone call, Jim was honest and sincere and easy to talk to. He made some great suggestions to help make our ceremony even more special and intimate. We were BLOWN AWAY when we read the first draft of our ceremony. He captured my husband and I's relationship so perfectly. We really could not have asked for a better officiant and would recommend Jim to anyone!! Our guests are still raving about how wonderful of a job he did and said it was the best ceremony they've ever witnessed. Thank you, Jim!!

Our ceremony and vows were perfect!
Jim DeKornfeld captured the essence of who my husband and I are...we are fun loving and casual and wanted to express our love in an intimate setting. We were a destination wedding and didn't get to meet Jim until the day of our wedding but he had an easy questionnaire process that helped him get to know us. He was responsive throughout the preparation process and knocked it out of the park on the day of our "I Do's"...thank you, Jim!

Perfect Ceremony
Reverend Jim DeKornfeld wrote an incredibly beautiful and personal ceremony for us. When our date, venue, and wedding plans changed, Jim adapted and was incredibly accommodating . We were able to speak with him on the phone and fill out a detailed questionnaire both about ourselves and what we wanted in a wedding ceremony. Jim got back to us quickly with an exceptionally personal and beautiful ceremony that eloquently described our love story. He really took the time to get to know us, and he not only had us laughing and crying, but the audience as well (in a good way). We’ve had guests come to us after the ceremony asking where we found Jim, and we can not begin to recommend him enough. We probably went through 4 or 5 revisions, and he was always there to answer phone calls, texts, and emails promptly.
Words can not truly express how grateful we are to Jim for making our day so special.
If you want an enchanting, special, and amazing ceremony that’s tailored to you and your partner, Jim is your guy.

The Best Thing to Happen to our COVID Wedding
Jim was truly amazing and the best thing to happen to our COVID wedding! Our wedding venue recommended Jim and I could not be more thrilled that they did. Jim really took the time to get to know us as a couple and wrote a beautiful and personalized ceremony for us. He had both us and our guests laughing, crying (good cries!) and everything in between. Jim was so professional throughout the whole process and made everything very easy. After the ceremony I actually had a guest come up and tell me it was the best wedding ceremony they've ever attended. After speaking with Jim on the phone, he sent us each a very detailed questionnaire. Once we returned them, Jim wrote a personalized ceremony detailing our love story as though he had known us for years! Due to a previous commitment, Jim was unable to officiate our ceremony (we knew well in advance) and he put us in touch with MaryKay, who was a doll to work with. Our ceremony could not have turned out any better. If you are looking for a customized wedding ceremony, I don’t think you will find any better company.

Heartfelt and Memorable Ceremony
Jim was very professional and delivered a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony. Perfect, just perfect. Couldn't ask for a better officiant.
Jim was awesome! Perfect even. Leading up to the ceremony Jim was responsive to all of our requests and didn't hesitate to give us some poignant recommendations, all of which helped make the ceremony more special than it would've ever been without him.
After spending almost a year in constant communication with us Jim knew what type of people we were and how informal yet still very special we wanted to keep the ceremony. Keeping this in mind he officiated it perfectly! We are extremely happy with Jim and recommend his services to everyone!

Sometimes eloping is the way to go....
Our "later in life" wedding didn't require all the pre and post celebrations. Our families and friends that remain didn't need to travel from out of state. Certainly, time was not a commodity we wanted to waste.
With a one week notice, Reverend Jim DeKornfeld more than accomodated our request for a simple, meaningful ceremony to be held at our golf course 20 minutes before our tee time.
The golf got rained out but our new life began.

Top choice for a memorable ceremony
Jim delivered an excellent ceremony which managed to blend the lines between romantic, traditional, humorous and intimate. Numerous guests told us the ceremony was one of the most memorable they had been to. On top of that, Jim was very responsive and made everything extremely easy. I'd say I'd love to do business with him again, but that wouldn't apply here - despite the excellent service.

Simply the best!
The ceremony Jim wrote and spoke for us made our entire wedding. My husband and I are not affiliated with a church, so finding a celebrant that we trusted seemed like a daunting task. From our first phone conversation, we knew Jim was our guy. He took the time to get to know us and was able to package that into an amazing, laughing through the happy tears kind of ceremony. I've had several friends mention how wittily romantic Jim's writing was - many saying it reminded them of the love that brought them together with their own spouse. We were so blessed to have Jim officiate our wedding ceremony! He not only worked with me beforehand to fine tune the details of our ceremony to perfectly fit my husband and myself but then executed the deliver perfectly. Very Great Experience
I had a wonderful experience working with Jim. He was very responsive and extremely helpful with any questions or concerns I had. He made the ceremony very personalized and humorous at points, it was absolutely perfect for the small, intimate ceremony we were having. I would highly recommend Jim and Daybreak Ceremonies! I honestly can't think of anything that would have made our experience any better!

Loved my experience!
Jim was an absolute dream to work with. Wedding planning can be stressful and Jim eased all of our worries and was able to come up with the most personal, lovely ceremony. It exceeded all of our expectations, I would definitely recommend. He was very accommodating and remained flexible throughout the entire process.

We contacted Rev Jim DeKornfield to be our officiant. He made the process very simple and stress free. He guided us through each step we needed to take and was very helpful. When he found out there was a schedule conflict he reached out to us and asked if we would be interested in working with Rev Janet Kenworthy. Rev Kenworthy and Rev Dekornfield worked with us up until our wedding day. Rev Kenworthy created a beautiful story of our life together and the importance of family for both of us. My wife and I are both female enlisted soldiers stationed in Alabama but wanted to get married in SC so that our family could be part of the ceremony. Reverend Jim Dekornfield was incredibly flexible, professional, and kind. He not only drove several hours to meet us but also helped us choose the perfect location as we were unfamiliar with the area. We are so very thankful of his services. From our first meeting, we knew that Jim was the guy for us. Now, looking back at the months of planning and ultimately the wedding day, we are very pleased that we found him. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th Anniversary in our favorite place on earth - Pinehurst, NC. As part of the celebration we were bringing our parents and best friends and planned on renewing our wedding vows. The Resort recommended several officiants and the first on the list was Jim DeKornfeld of Daybreak Ceremonies. We didn't look any further! From my first conversation with Jim, I felt like he was the right choice for us. We filled out our questionnaires - separately, of course - and Jim turned our responses and our conversations into a lovely ceremony celebrating our past, present and future! Jim officiated the ceremony for my husband and I on September 10th, 2016. We informed him of how we met and he did a fantastic job of putting it together to come up with the wording, listening to any changes we wanted to make. He kept the ceremony light with some funny moments like I wanted. It was an outdoor wedding and he spoke loud and clear. I would definitely recommend Jim to others.

Jim is an angel sent from God. He not only grasped my husband and my personalities, but wrote a wonderfully romantic,, and humorous love story about our reuniting, and made everyone laugh in the process. We loved the lightheartedness of the ceremony as it was both his and my second marriage. It was so good I may have to have him do a ceremony every year for our anniversary. We had to look for an officiant for our wedding about two weeks before the big day, and were really fortunate to find Jim and Janet from Daybreak Ceremonies! In that short period of time, they managed to put together a beautiful customized ceremony script that was very personal and reflected exactly the tone we wanted. For this they use couples questionnaires that you have to fill separately, and working on them was a great experience for both of us as a preparation for the wedding day. They were also super flexible to make any change we suggested in the final script, which included adding a bilingual text! The day of the wedding, Janet did a great job as our officiant, and many of our guests complimented us on how beautiful the ceremony was and how it reflected well our relationship. Like probably many couples, we wanted our ceremony to be the most special part of our wedding day, and Janet and Jim made this really possible.

A wedding is supposed to be about the Bride and Groom, yet that rarely happens. Everyone tries to make it about them instead, causing stress and frustration for those who this day should be about. That is not the case with Jim DeKornfeld and Daybreak Ceremonies. Jim made our day so special and made it about us. He started off by sending us both a questionnaire to get to not only know us better, but to know our love story as well. A couple days later he emailed us a rough draft of the script. I was blown away by how gifted Jim was in his writing and about how the whole ceremony was catered to what we wanted, instead of something basic and traditional. Jim was so accommodating and made sure that the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. So many of my guests told me afterwards that they thought the ceremony was beautiful and very well written. I highly recommend Jim DeKornfeld for your wedding needs. He will not disappoint!!

I contacted Jim at Daybreak Ceremonies about ten days before the date we wanted for our small ceremony, which was a National Holiday. After running into a number of road blocks due to all government offices being closed, as well as a lot of businesses closed on our wedding date, Jim said yes to officiating our ceremony on our chosen date without hesitation! He was so helpful with information from the very first phone conversation! Jim was very warm, yet professional. All of the email correspondence from Jim was timely, efficient, and easy to follow with the information he needed from us. The ceremony script he put together fit us to a tee, he provided us with several drafts so that we could add, or change any of it. It was truly a ceremony "custom created" just for our occasion! In the 11th hour I was in search of a photographer, and Jim had a great recommendation for that too...John Gessner of Pinehurst did a super job! I can't say enough good things about the services Jim Dekornfeld, and Daybreak Ceremonies provide! My special day was perfect...uncomplicated, easygoing, & very unstressful, in large part thanks to Jim!! Contacted Daybreak because we knew we wanted to craft our own ceremony that felt just right for us. We wanted it to be personal and inclusive for all in attendance. Jim guided us through the daunting task, delivering everything we wanted and more. He was in touch through countless emails, phone and FaceTime in the months leading up to the wedding (even though he was traveling for much of that time!) He also met with me in person when I visited from out of town, even though he wasn't available to officiate for us. Janet Kenworthy, one of Daybreak's celebrants, ended up officiating our wedding and we loved having her - she is a free-spirited and genuine human being that spoke with clarity and heart. We met with her about 3 months prior to the wedding, which I highly recommend. It's nice to get familiar! Many of our guests commented on how touching the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed it. My feeling is that you can't go wrong with Daybreak Ceremonies, based on our wonderful experience.

We worked with Jim in coordinating, booking, and writing our ceremony script and it was a real delight! Jim was very thoughtful in everything he did as well as organized. He has these questionnaires that the bride and groom fill out (separately) that asks about your history as a couple, the story, feelings, preferences, etc. Based on this questionnaire he put together a draft ceremony and I cannot reiterate how “on spot” he was with EVERYTHING! It was really amazing…as my husband and I were reading through the draft, we were shocked at how well he nailed it…it fit us perfectly (short and sweet, meaningful, with a slight touch of humor). Jim organized the officiant who was available for our wedding day (Janet) and that was that. Janet was very timely and considerate (checking with us on preferred wardrobe); we received so many compliments on the ceremony from our guests and how it was “so us”. Jim also worked with our coordinator on a little surprise that coincided with our story of meeting (fortune cookies with our names and wedding date inside). I would highly recommend Daybreak Ceremonies and Jim for any and all wedding ceremony services!

Jim was very professional and a joy to work with on our wedding! He drove 2+ hours just to marry us on the beach! He is LGBT friendly, and understands how much it means to marry your soulmate. He took the time to guide us through the process and try to get to know who we are as a couple and what our love means to each other.

Jim was absolutely amazing! We felt so comfortable with him from our very first meeting. He took the time to ask us questions to personalize our ceremony. Jim was very flexible and made everything so simple. I loved how our ceremony told "our story" and wasn't generic! All our guests commented on how much they loved the ceremony and how it was the best they'd every been too!!

Jim did an amazing job with our wedding. The service he wrote from our questionnaires couldn't have been any better. The guests at our wedding are still talking about how wonderful it was.

Lovely ceremony, loved how much involvement we were able to have in our vows and the ceremony :) Everyone loved our ceremony and we received rest comments. I guess my only other feedback would be to make sure the officiant and wedding planner are aligned prior to rehearsal, if possible, might make it just just that much more smoothly.

Rev. Jim DeKornfeld performed a beautiful and intimate ceremony for me and my husband within 2 hours of calling him! Yes, within 2 hours of calling him. Our family drove from out of town to share our special day, but the magistrate was unable to perform the ceremony. We panicked of course, but found Rev Jim DeKornfeld on weddingwire.com, and we were so lucky to have found him. He came through for us on such short notice, and he made us feel comfortable from the very start. We are grateful to Jim for making our wedding day go from almost disastrous to complete "Perfection".
