David's Custom Cakes is the baker who works with the Tides Estate next door, which is where we had our wedding. We came in maybe about a month and a half before the wedding for our cake tasting and it was a fun little experience. You pick which cake/filling combinations you want, and they bring out little cupcake versions of it on a tiered plate. My only gripe (which was minor) was that there were options that the Tides included in our package, but we had to pay extra to sample at David's (i.e. red velvet). We did end up picking that as one of the tiers of the cake. That is something I did appreciate - the cake... -

Our wedding cake was EVERYTHING! So tasty..that cannoli cream filling in funfetti was a HIT! everyone was so wonderful! -

We held our wedding at Indian Trail Club who partners with David’s Cakes - and we’re so glad they do! We easily scheduled our tasting which was very basic itself. David’s Cakes offered a bunch of options, combinations, and recommendations without being overwhelming. They were responsive and patient via email. We had three different combinations for our cake and they were delicious! We’re so happy with how our cake came out! This, in combination with following them on social media and seeing their outstanding designs makes us want to have another event with a David’s cake ASAP! -

David Custom Cake was amazing. From the time we walked in from meet and great to the tasting we knew we were in good hands. Not only did we have 1 tasting but we had two because shop created a peanut butter filling that husband loved for the top layer of our wedding cake - our top layer is in freezer right now. David Custom Cake created a 4 layer cake for us with 4 different filling - dulce de leche, raspberry, strawberry, and peanut butter. Thanks! -

Jennifer Sent on 03/15/2017We were looking for a wedding cake that tasted delicious and didn't cost a fortune. Belmont's prices are hard to beat. We set up a tasting and were able to taste multiple combinations. All of them were delicious so it was hard to choose. We opted for a simple 3 tier buttercream cake. It was perfect. We got so many compliments on how delicious our wedding cake was (even from someone who is a tough wedding cake critic). -

Amazing Cake
David’s Custom cake was so accommodating and kind. I asked a million questions, and special add ons to the cake and they happily did them all. On top of that, the cake was well priced and most importantly absolutely delicious. Everyone raves about the cake! Thank you again! -

We did a tasting at their storefront location and they let us come in before they had opened back up to the public after a renovation. We had three different flavor combinations because we couldn’t decide on an absolute favorite. The cake came out beautifully and our wonderful florist did a great job incorporating live flowers on it. Sadly I did not get to try a piece at the wedding but I’m already counting down to our one-year anniversary so we can break out our top tier!

This small staple in North Haledon has some of the best pastries and treats I have ever tasted and at reasonable prices. We had a cake tasting and were blown away. I'm not a cake person and I thought the cake was delicious! We did other tastings at other bakeries as well and Belmont was the clear winner. We immediately booked them to make our three tiered fondant wedding cake. We actually upgraded because of their fair pricing and attention to detail. The cake was exactly what I asked for, if you have a specific style in mind that you like, they will do it for you. It was also delicious and our guests really enjoyed the different flavors. The staff is friendly and professional, very responsive and clear on their answers which helps setting the right expectations. Just a few things to keep in mind for cakes that are custom made (not one of the pictured cakes they offer): you need to bring the topper and decorations that will go on the cake, or arrange for someone to bring it to them (unless you arrange for this separately with the florist/decorator); if delivery is included as part of the service,... -
