From the very first conversation, working with david has been an absolute pleasure. Even though he won’t personally be photographing our wedding, his professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for us, not only as clients, but also as people has set the tone for such a stress-free and exciting experience.

Amazing photographer and exceptional work

Choosing a photographer for your big day can be a daunting task. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many, and you don't want the wrong person. We can honestly say, that without a shadow of a doubt, David Cheney is the photographer to choose. He was incredible, honest, easy to work with, and extremely helpful. We interviewed 3 other photographers before David, and once we ended our interview with him, we knew we would move forward. After our interview, he was so amazing with texting and clarifying any concerns or wild ideas that we may have had. He put our minds at ease and truthfully was so professional, kind, and to the point. We are so thankful for David being there on our big day. We cannot recommend him, or his work, enough. Highly Recommended

Choosing the right photographer for my wedding day was incredibly important to me. With so many heavily filtered photos circulating these days, I wanted someone who would capture the true essence of our day without altering our natural look. While researching photographers, David Cheney’s work immediately stood out to me. His photos were authentic and had a timeless, natural quality that I loved.

I reached out to him, and after our phone conversation, I knew he was the perfect fit to document our special day. From the moment we met, David was nothing short of amazing. On the wedding day, he was everywhere, capturing every moment—many of which we didn’t even get a chance to see ourselves. His attention to detail and ability to capture the emotions of the day was incredible.

What truly stood out, though, was how many of our guests complimented David and his work after the wedding. It was clear that he had made an impression, not only with us but with everyone around. David is very nice, he really cared about what we wanted captured on our special day! He also gave us help on some cool ideas we would have never thought about! When we set up meetings he was punctual and same with the day of! David is great with communication and professionalism. We knew we were in good hands the moment we met him. Best Wedding Photographer!

David is such an incredible wedding photographer and person! My husband and I found out about him because he photographed a good friend's wedding. As soon as I saw her gallery, I knew I didn't need to look around for any other photographers. Amazing photography was an aspect of our wedding that was very important to me, and David knocked it out of the park. He cares deeply about his clients and is so passionate about what he does. David Cheney of David Cheney Photography tops the best of the best. It takes talent to find the right composition, get the camera settings right and focus on the subject. Artistic and professional

David is a true artist. I hired him to photograph my son's wedding based on the gorgeous pictures I'd seen on his website and his reputation. I had every confidence they would be good, but he exceeded every expectation and the results were truly magical. He captured the essence of the couple and their special day. He is intuitive and creative. This was an excellent investment in a once-in-a-lifetime moment that will now live forever thanks to the unique yet classic images he captured. He was a pleasure to work with, very professional, dependable, and fun. He was also a big help in making sure things ran smoothly and on time, taking away a lot of stress! Best Photographer!

David is the BEST photographer we could have asked for. His attention to detail, was phenomenal. David was so helpful when it came down to creating a timeline and sequence of events for our big day. His patience was key, especially with some of our difficult guests... he handled them better than we did LOL!! He also did our engagement pictures, which also turned out beautiful. Fabulous person, fabulous product

I first met David when he photographed my daughter's wedding 6 years ago. Before that he did her engagement photos. Now he's doing family photos for them. He listens to what they want and delivers. For family photography he has great ideas for stunning locations. He's professional, friendly, creative, and great with children! My grandson even loves him. David caught incredible moments between his 3-year-old shenanigans, catching beautiful smiles and childlike innocence on his face. I got an amazing shot of myself with my grandson having a belly laugh. HIGHLY recommend David for so many reasons!

The best of the best

We first met David on a whim at a bridal expo back in early 2016. His work stood out and by the next day we were on the phone with him to learn more and ensure we got on his calendar ASAP. Fast forward almost 7 years and he is still by our side. He has done our engagement photos, wedding photos, and now is continuing to capture our lives with our growing family. Not only is he great for us to work with, but all our friends and family commented on how great our wedding photographer was; he made everyone feel at ease and had FUN with it. Is there anything better for a photographer?! We trust him completely and know that his work will always beautifully reflect the hard work that he puts into every photo he takes. I cannot say enough good things about David. He has given us so many moments to remember every time we look back through our photos!

Absolutely Amazing Photographer

David Cheney is one of the best photographers the DFW has to offer. From beginning to end, he was professional, personable, and made us feel like we were the only couple on his mind. We started with David about 10 months before our wedding, and he was extremely responsive and met with us really soon after we reached out. We had heard from a friend that he was great, and when we saw his portfolio, we believed it! Fast forward to my bridal portraits and he made me feel like the most beautiful bride in the world. The pictures were amazing and he took time and spent hours with us on that session. The wedding was absolutely incredible. From ceremony to formals to our photoshoot in the vineyard, he was perfect. Everyone commented on how beautiful the pictures turned out, as well as how active David was during the reception. Every time I turned around, he was there taking pictures. I would highly recommend David if you want a friend in your photographer, but also someone who is professional and gives you pictures that look fake because of how perfect the shot is!

David helped make our wedding day so special!

Let me start out by saying that vendors really make a difference in your wedding day. David went above and beyond on our wedding day. He is so personable, and kind. He really takes great care in his work because he knows how special a wedding is. He is always available to talk on the phone, and gives great advice about weddings. He takes great care in making sure you are getting exactly what you want with the photos. His style is laid back and easy to work with. However, I cannot thank him enough for kind he was to me and my family. He was respectful, and there were so many moments where he went above and beyond what was asked of him. He called both me and my husband on the day of the wedding, just to ask if we needed anything, or if we needed him to pick up something. By the time I got to the wedding venue he had already taken 200 photos! He worked with the other vendors to make the wedding run smoothly. I got so many compliments on our photographer. Do yourself a favor, and hire David. You aren't going to regret it. The quality of his work is superb, and you are going to get more than what you paid for.

Phenomenal!

Booking David for our wedding was definitely the best (and easiest) decision I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. I had been researching practically every wedding photographer in DFW for months and was having such a hard time because to me this was the biggest decision (other than my dress) I would have to make. When we met at a bridal show in Las Colinas, I was sold! His work was beautiful, hes a photography teacher, he was easy to talk to and the packages he was offering us were a steal!
David was always easy to get in contact with; he responded back quickly to any questions I had. He was extremely helpful. He had tons of suggestions for locations for our engagement pics (which I actually love just as much as the wedding pics) and we had so much fun taking them! He was fast getting the pictures back to us for both the engagement & wedding photos. I was an extreme newbie to all things wedding related but he was so helpful, even calling to check on me and see if we needed him to pickup anything for us on the day of the wedding. He helped me come up with a wedding day timeline (even though I had a day-of coordinator) to make sure we got all the pictures we wanted.
My family all loved him! He was so accommodating (to my stress and tardiness to everything) and went out of his way to get awesome photos for us throughout the whole ceremony and reception.
My suggestion - choose David as your photographer and make your life easier! You won't regret it :)

My husband and I are so impressed with our wedding photos. We loved every image David captured, from engagement photos, bridal portraits to the ceremony & reception. Each photo was a masterpiece. If you are looking for the most calm, collected, organized, caring photographer in the whole wide world- Please talk to David. He worked with us for over A YEAR to help us capture engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and wedding photos. I was a mess at all 3 events and David steered me in the right direction. I can't say enough kind things about David. He is so incredibly friendly, personal, and hard working. This man will lay down on the ground to capture your pictures. I met him at the Dallas Bridal Show and I immediately knew that I wanted him to be my photographer. David! Where to even begin about David?! My family has used him for various things over the years, so when I got engaged, it was a no-brainer who I'd ask first to be my photographer. My husband and I had a really short engagement, so I was bracing myself to hear, "I'm booked" from David, but miraculously, he was FREE that particular day - booked the day before AND after, but free for my wedding!! What?!? We received his work yesterday and I can't stop looking and sharing. His attention to detail is incredible! The vibrancy and LIFE in his photos is such a gift. Not only is his work SUPER quality, he also cares deeply about hearing exactly what YOU want and how to capture YOUR vision. I already knew this about David, having bonded with him through previous shoots. David was professional, an excellent communicator, FUN, and present. He wasn't just the photographer - he was a special part of our day. I've had multiple guests come up to me post-wedding and say, "I loved your photographer as a person." I couldn't agree more. His work speaks for itself, and YES, it's amazing, but it's just a part of the whole "picture"... ;) I was getting a little grouchy during the "formal/family" shoot after the ceremony and tried to scrap some of the photo-opps...David kindly put his foot down, reminding me that it's his job to capture my day and I WILL want those photos. Boy, was he right! Those exact shots are some of my favorites. SO glad he wasn't afraid to push back a bit and move toward what he knew I'd ultimately want. David really made my husband and I comfortable throughout the whole wedding process, including our engagement photos. We weren't used to having our pictures professionally taken and he was able to help us relax and have fun! He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our wedding day and he pays attention to the littlest of details, and it definitely showed in our album. He's really a down to earth guy and you can tell from the moment you meet him that he has a real passion for what he does. David is the most amazing photographer!!! You won’t find anyone better than him!! David was so patient with my husband and I. David is unlike any other photographer. He isn’t just after a deal. He genuinely wants to know you as a person. Before signing a contract, David met with my husband and me to talk about photography but also to get to know us as a couple. He spent about an hour talking to us and didn’t expect us to sign anything at end of the meeting. He never pressured us. For my husband and it was super important to find a photographer that we loved and David was it! His photography speaks for itself so we really just wanted someone we “clicked with”. The day of the wedding, he was magical! He was more than a photographer. He was a friend to lean on every step of the way. He called me when he was on his way to reassure me that he’d be on time. He helped me stay on time the entire night. He brought my husband and I snacks so we wouldn’t forget to eat! He moved around as needed to get necessary shots. He instructed my guests on how to pose! He did what he had to do to get the perfect shot and was totally professional the entire night. All of my guests loved him and they all asked me about him! My favorite memory of David was when he taught my bridesmaids and I how to properly pose! I thought it was so funny that a man was teaching a bunch of women how to model but he really made us look glamorous! There is so much more that I could say about David but it can’t all fit on this review! All in all, I would say that you HAVE TO HIRE DAVID FOR YOUR WEDDING! He is the best and will make you feel your best on your wedding day!!!! :)

David was my fiancee's teacher in school. When mulling over ideas for a photographer for our wedding, my fiancee simply said "I will not hire anyone other than David". Boy, I did not realize how great of an idea that was until I met him myself. From the first time we sat with David to talk over details - I was IN LOVE. This guy is the most laid back, outgoing, yet professional guy I've ever met in photography. He has an awesome vibe and doesn't make you think twice about booking with him. He will be my first choice for everything. I will tell you a secret for those that are tight with money - you pay for quality and his quality is astounding. Fell in love with David the moment my mom and I met him! When I saw his work, I knew he had to capture our wedding!! Where to even begin with David?? My husband and I met David at a bridal show, and we fell in love with his work immediately. He's a cool guy with a laid back attitude that instantly put us at ease with worrying about finding the *perfect* photographer. Fast forward 2 months, and he shot our engagement pictures. They were amazing and the perfect missing piece to our Save the Dates. Throughout the months leading up to our wedding, I felt like I bugged David nonstop about every. single. detail. The timing of the day, the MUST HAVE photos, etc. His constant words - 'As the bride and groom, let ME do the worrying about the day. Your role is to relax and enjoy every minute of it. Give your worries over to me.' He showed up the morning of our wedding bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to get to work. And he NEVER stopped. He captured every moment possible. What I didn't expect, however, was how much our guests would love David. He was a total hit and we've had multiple friends mention that they hope to hire him one day for their own weddings. Is there any greater compliment? Turns out, there is. The moment we got our pictures back, our family and friends completely freaked out. Simply put, they are STUNNING. I had family and friends telling me that they were sitting down for the second, third, even FIFTH time to look at all of them. Because they just couldn't get enough the first (couple of) times. There's no way I could pick a favorite out of our 1500(!?) photos that he captured over a 10 hour day. Looking at them instantly takes me back to those moments and fills me with a sense of happiness that's just tough to explain. And we have David to thank for that. He will continue on with my husband and I; I'm already dreaming of future maternity, newborn, family pictures, etc that we will undoubtedly ask him to take for us and continue to document our lives in the most beautiful way possible!

You should not question whether or not to use David Cheney! He is the best photographer that you could have. I was a little nervous to take pictures with a person that I didn't know, but he made it so much fun! He took my senior pictures, my sister's wedding pictures, and now my wedding pictures! There is no question that whenever we need pictures taken for big events we would call David again! I feel like we have made a lifetime friend after working with him. I would recommend him to everyone! David does great work and captured every moment of our special day! You should definitely call David Cheney for all your photography needs!

I was never really excited about getting pictures done before. Silly poses and fake smiles. But David really does great work. Not only did he make it not as rough for a guy but when you see his work.......man it is the best pictures you have ever seen. I have never thought pictures could look so good. David Cheney is the real deal when it comes to photography. I can't begin to tell you how pleased we were to work with him from the very first meeting. He takes his job very serious at capturing those once in a life time moments. I am the grooms mother and it was most important to me to have quality photography since we have an only child. David is very sensitive to the needs of the bride and the wishes of the family. I truly felt like he was part of our family after several meetings, bridals being taken, walking us through so many decisions. Just remember you can't put a price tag on photos and memories as they will be here to stay long after the wedding day :O)

Seriously, not only does David go above & beyond with his photographer duties (which as you can see on his website, he does phenomenal work!) but he also was a HUGE help the entire time leading up to our wedding ceremony and throughout the evening! Mr. Cheney's Work is wonderful. I could not ask for a better photographic memory of my wedding. Cheney has a great personality that anyone can appreciate. He was a joy to work with! He was able to personalize the service provided to fit exactly what my husband and I wanted.
I found out I was pregnant shortly after the wedding and devoted the next 9 months to prenatal care and comp time accumulation at work, as my employer dose not offer paid maternity leave. A year later I finally got around to ordering prints. Under my unique circumstances, Mr. Cheney was very understanding. I highly recommend Mr. Cheney for his amazing photography, professionalism and most importantly his ability to truly capture the beauty, atmosphere and emotion of my wedding day. Hire him immediately!! There are so many decisions to make when you are planning a wedding; choosing David as our photographer was the easiest and best decision we made.

During our engagement session and while taking my bridal portraits David made us feel very comfortable, allowing him to capture natural and genuine love filled shots. With David’s creative ideas and eye for great shots our engagements and my bridals look as if they were done for a high-end magazine spread.

At our wedding David was able to capture so many moments and special details so that we can always remember the best day of our lives; some we did not even notice with all of the hustle and bustle! He also captured awesome candids of almost every single guest in attendance.

When we started planning our nuptials, we knew that the pictures would one of the most important parts of our entire process. I talked to several photographers at the Dallas Bridal Show. There are so many and it can be quite overwhelming. But, from the moment I met David Cheney, I knew he would be our wedding photographer. I immediately sensed a connection to him and his work (his portfolio is incredible!). It was instantly evident that he was a highly detail oriented individual and that he truly loves what he does. He has a sense about him that makes you feel like you have known him forever, like you are old friends, and he makes you comfortable and content with the entire process start to finish. We did our engagement photos, as well as our wedding day photos. ALL of our photos were amazing. He gently guides your face, body, etc. so that you look your absolute best. We had a small amount of drama at our wedding and David handled it with grace and style and you would have never known anything was out of the ordinary. David pays attention to the small things and captures moments you don’t even remember happening. The day goes by so fast and David’s images give you the entire story after the fact. What we loved most about him is that he goes beyond the typical wedding day images and give you a kind of story board that captures the true essence of that days’ events. I am not sure how he captured so many angles and seemed to be in so many places at once. He is so easy to work with and really listens to what your vision is and then puts his artistic spin on it all and gives you a final product far beyond what you had ever imagined. He is a true professional and I cannot recommend him enough. If you are looking for a photographer for your special day, contact David. I promise he will not disappoint! David is a GEM! He was the photographer for my daughter's wedding, and I give my highest recommendation without hesitation. First of all, he is a true artist with a college degree to prove it. His work is phenomenal. My daughter has an art degree as well, and consequently is incredibly picky. We looked at several photographer's work before choosing David. There are many good wedding photographers who can do the job, but David's artistic gifts and trained eye result in photography that is far above the norm. We have been told by many that her bridal portrait is "stunning" and "looks like it's out of a magazine." We couldn't be more pleased with his work. It is of the highest quality.

David is kind and has a heart for service. He maintains the upmost professionalism, yet his easy-going, down-to-earth style makes you feel like you've been friends forever. From the beginning, David proved his flexibility in packaging his services to meet our needs. He was willing to meet us anywhere we chose for engagement and bridal pictures. At the portrait sitting, he even helped me button those fancy buttons on the back of my daughter's gown when my arthritic hands and fancy nails weren't doing the job. (We bought a croquet hook for the wedding day!) Not only that, but he went above and beyond again by helping me pack up the bridal suite at the church and load my car! David is a trustworthy, ethical family man with an incredible gift for photography. When we discovered David, we discovered one of our greatest wedding treasures.

David has been a Blessing to our family. He photographed my daughter's wedding and reception (as well as her Bridals). Since my daughter is also a photographer, we were super picky about every detail and shot. He not only met our expectations, but exceeded them.

It is with great confidence that I rate him 5 out of 5. If there was a way to rate 7 out of 5, that would better reflect my opinion.

David did an amazing job photographing our wedding. He is extremely creative and was really good at getting both artistic shots of the venue, clothing, good and decorations as well as tons if traditional and candid pictures of friends and family. Not only am I happy with the results, David is so friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend him to a friend and use his services again.

David Cheney is an exceptional photographer! Not only does he take pride in his work which shows in all he does but he also has great consideration in what you want as his client. He is very artistic in his approach and is very detail oriented in his work. My daughter's wedding was even more enjoyable with him because he took the time to really get to know us to be able to capture our true selves.

David Cheney is an amazing photographer! On the day of our wedding he was spot on with everything that he did! From taking pictures, to interacting with our family and friends and helping the process of the wedding go smoothly. Everyone that was at the wedding commented on how impressed they were with David. He was very helpful to my bride and I both before and after the ceremony. When the flower girl froze up walking down the isle and didn't really know what to do, David helped her out and assisted her down the isle. David is a class act and I highly recommend him to anyone needing a photographer. The quality of his work is impeccable! Our pictures turned out great and we are highly satisfied with them! David is a great guy and an amazing artist!

David was amazing to work with and our photos were fantastic! We felt so blessed to have him as our photographer on our big day! We could not have asked for a better person we felt so comfortable that we often forgot he was there. David is so down to earth and brilliant at what he does! We would highly recommend him!!

David took my engagement photos, bridal portraits, and wedding day photos! His work is high quality and he is very professional. I love that he is so friendly and personable as well. He will never make you feel rushed and is very accommodating to what you want. He will definitely be my photographer for anything I might need him for in the future! If you want an amazing photographer but also someone who is personable, friendly, and just simply amazing you found the right place! Many of my wedding guests commented on how great my photographer was! There are many other good photographers but I don't feel like there are many who have "the whole package" and David certainly does!

David Cheney is someone that you have to search for the right words to recommend just so you make sure that they speak the magnitude of the person he is and the work he does. David was recommended to me by my videographer when I had fired my first photographer for not keeping her contract. He had almost no time to catch up to pace when we were short on time and needed engagement pictures ASAP because we were then weeks away from the wedding. Unfortunately, the pictures taken by our first photographer were horrendous and were 2 months late before she was forced to hand them over as well as refund my money. This is what poor David stepped in to.

I was untrusting and skeptical. I asked him a thousand questions and went through his contract with a fine tooth comb. Honestly, if we had switched places I would have been more than frustrated with someone like me, but he absolutely wasn't. He handled the situation with empathy and grace guiding my fiancé and I through every step so we were comfortable. He explained and re-explained countless topics and explored every option I wanted in engagement photos as well as at the wedding.

If after all this talk about the man and his character, you are wondering about his work...look at his website. His pictures are enchanting, flattering, and pure. He made sure to cultivate the smallest and most beautiful of details. He would even tell me to lift my arm so it didn't flatten and look bad. He got rid of stray hairs and purified our eyes in every layer of detail. His work is some of the most stunning I have ever seen.

If you want to truly trust someone to make your special day what everyone talks about, someone who instills peace in you so that you can enjoy the day that you'll never get again, and someone that will capture every essence of every tiny detail to remind you of the feelings you felt every time you see those pictures...this is the photographer for you.

Our event was outdoors and the weather was hot. To make things sweat-ier, the wedding was on the west side. Mr. Cheney did an excellent job of working with the attendees, he was very unobtrusive. He was friendly and accommodating. The ultimate test: the photographs were excellent.

David gave us several different packages to choose from so we were able to stay within our budget. He did the engagement photos as well as the wedding. Both were absolutely amazing! He was great to work with, very pleasant, friendly, and had great ideas on different shots. I would highly recommend David Cheney to anyone looking for a photographer. I cannot say enough on how pleased we are about his work and working with him.

David is amazing! We had friends after our wedding comment on how creative he was with his camera. I haven't seen my wedding photos yet but I can't wait to see them! He has great ideas and vision. He is also very caring; he was constantly checking with me and making sure he was getting pictures I wanted, was feeling okay, and helped keep me looking great (making sure hair wasn't in my face, etc). If I have the need for a photographer again, I will be calling David :)

Best photographer alive. On top of it all it is shocking how nice he is. With his talent you don't have to be so it's refreshing. I would confidently use him for anything from a birthday party to a presidential inauguration.

David Cheney did an AMAZING job taking pictures for my daughter's wedding! He is very creative and has a great eye. He is also a joy to work with! We had many people from our wedding comment about how nice he was. But his pictures truly set him apart from all the other photographers we saw. They are gorgeous! When we looked through all the pictures from the night, it was like reading a beautiful storybook from the evening. He gave us something we will treasure for years to come! We used David for my daughter's Bridals, the engagement pictures and the wedding. But we were so impressed with him and his work that we also had him recently take our youngest daughter's Senior pictures! You will not be disappointed with David Cheney!!!

David Cheney photography is amazing, his work is gorgeous! He is also the one of the nicest people and very easy to get along with. I received several comments from people at the wedding saying how great he was. Above all else his photos are incredible, each and everyone he took is wonderful! Choosing him as a photographer was the best decision, I didn't have any worry I would have the best photos from my big day!

David is a laid back yet friendly, talented photographer who made us a priority as his clients and captured our special day perfectly. His constant communication with us was proof of his professionalism and he engaged with everyone in the wedding party and family so well. David was a great photographer. We actually used him for engagements, maternity, and newborn photos in addition to our wedding. He was very flexible and always made sure we were happy with the outcome. He combines tradition with modern style in his photographs. My husband and I had the privilege of working with David a few times-- first out engagements, then my bridals, and then for our BIG day. He did an amazing job with ALL of our photos and made us feel so comfortable and natural throughout the whole process. He was timely, professional, and so fun. Not only did we love him, but our friends and family did too! We got so many compliments on our photos and our wedding album. David Cheney did my daughter's wedding. He was truly AMAZING. I do not know anyone else that could of done as well as the outstanding job that David did. He was always in the "right place at the right time" to capture every emotion expressed that day. What a knack he as in that at many times you did not even know he was in the room yet he was able to capture all the emotions from the entire day. If you are a bride-to-be and looking for an outstanding photographer I would tell you that David is your man and there is no one out there any better. His personality made you feel like he really cared about what he was doing at any given moment and then his work truly showed his wonderful talent. If you want someone outstanding girls, calm down and hire David. I promise he will NOT let you down. He is an AWESOME photographer.
