Dave is the best!!
Dave really is the best! From making planning easy for us to being responsive and open to what we wanted for photos, he was so helpful! We are definitely not big into taking pictures of ourselves but Dave helped us every step of the way! Planning was very easy as he had a questionnaire with open communication before the big day. His time efficiency was amazing ! Capturing all the important details with ease. We opted for a second photographer for part of the big day and Misty did not disappoint either! Payments were made over time on a reasonable schedule which made it very doable for us. We received all of the photos from that day within a week and a half after the wedding. Dave and Misty were able to capture all of our special moments and personality throughout. 10/10 recommend Dave Champagne!

My husband and I were married on September 20th with David as our photographer. I will explain him in one word....EXCELLENT! He's well worth the money. He's very good at communicating while setting up appointments and taking the actual pictures. He's very patient and helps each person feel comfortable and beautiful in the photos. Very professional. The pics he got absolutely made me and my husband gasp happily his attention to detail, creativity, and speed are master level!

Not your average photographer
We initially chose David due to his style of photography. He uses true color and he takes creative liberties in his shots. He NAILED our pictures. We took initial photographs in the Glasslight Museum due to the bold, vibrant, and modern look. He used that to his advantage and CRUSHED our photos. No photo is boring. I made a list of around 80 family photo combinations I wanted. He was able to create a time line and stay within those boundaries on the actual day which is shocking. He took incredible photos at our reception which capture the joy, excitement, celebration and alcohol drive insanity of the evening. I could not be happier with my choice of David!

We got the photos back from him much quicker than expected - only a few weeks! The photos are gorgeous, perfectly staged with a natural feel and lovely editing. All my friends and family cannot believe how incredible our photos turned out. I would book David again and again. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone. The best there is!
David was amazing! He came recommended by two friends/coworkers and he did not disappoint. I’m not photogenic at all and don’t really like having my picture taken, but David put us at ease. He was so friendly and organized and all the pictures he took turned out beautiful. Looking back, the wedding day itself was a whirlwind. But one thing I do remember was that David was there every step of the way, capturing every moment. Even going around to all the tables to say hi to all our guests, David was there, never missing a shot. He also captured all the little details of the wedding that I never got to see, so it was nice having those photos to go back and look at. We would highly recommend him for your special day!

On the day of our wedding, David was super professional. He made everyone feel at ease, including our cat and the young children. I had mentioned feeling self conscious about my posture, and he was really great at reminding me to stand upright without drawing attention to it. He managed our group effortlessly even though we are a rowdy bunch. He planned a thorough schedule to make sure we would have time to capture everything that we wanted. Overall working with David was a total breeze in the day thanks to his professionalism.
We got our photos back today, only 1 week after the wedding, and they are everything we imagined and more! Absolutely fantastic work, David!

David was an absolute WONDER to work with. He captured every moment I could think of and more. We had to postpone our wedding twice due to COVID and he was so patient with us in having to reschedule. We got married on May 14th and received all of our images on May 18th. I was so incredibly pleased with the quality of the images and the speed in which we received them. He was so professional and understanding of all the important moments. I love how unlike most photographers you receive every single photo that he takes. It truly is the most bang for your buck. David took so many perfect and beautiful shots at our wedding. Everyone that has seen our photos have raved about how in awe they are of the photographers work and when I tell them that he is a team of one they are even more amazed. I also need to talk about how great he was getting photos with the flower girls and ring bearers, I can't believe that he got such perfect photos with all of them looking at the camera. The best decision!
David was amazing to work with! David photographed my sister's wedding a few years ago, and when I saw the pictures, I knew I had to hire him! Although he is based in the Virginia Beach area, he travelled to D.C. for my wedding. We delayed our wedding twice due to COVID, and he was extremely understanding and easy to work with. David is very engaged with the logistics of the day and sent a timeline in advance. Not only did the pictures turn out absolutely beautiful, but he made sure the day stayed on track and went smoothly. In addition, he is very detail oriented and captured every aspect of the day.

In all honesty words can not express how amazing David was at our wedding. He captured the most beautiful pictures of our wedding. He is quick, very helpful, and definitely will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. He was on top of capturing every beautiful moment/detail from first look, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. We were fortunate to have an absolutely beautiful sunny day and were able to take sunset photos. David showed me one of the photos on his camera and it literally took my breath away. Absolutely incredible photos!
David is INCREDIBLE! Our photos are absolutely GORGEOUS! Many of our friends and family have said that they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen and my new husband and I agree completely. We absolutely love them and all of our friends and family can’t stop raving about them. David not only has a great eye for good photos, but he makes you feel comfortable and fully trusting in him. My husband in not photogenic and he looks great in every photo. David’s style is calm, efficient, kind, and professional, which clearly demonstrates years of experience that allows him to quickly get all of the shots he needs without feeling rushed or stressful. We actually really enjoyed posing for photos with David, and we expected to dislike posing for photographs. David knew exactly how to handle a crying flower girl, an anxious family member, a large bridal party, and he came up with ideas for photos that truly came out magical. Whenever guests were taking shots with one of us, he would swoop in and get a professional shot, recognizing that if we taking photos ourselves it must be an important shot. David was a joy to work with. It is clear he has a passion for what he does and values his work and his clients. I highly recommend David for your wedding. He is worth every penny!!

David is such an amazing photographer and person! He takes amazing photos and is such a pleasure to work with. He is professional and courteous. We had to postpone our wedding two times due to COVID, and he was flexible and made everything so easy for us! He took our engagement photos, our backyard socially-distanced wedding photos, and our big wedding celebration photos - and each time he impressed us more and more! He also worked really well with all of our vendors. He is one of the reasons why our big wedding day went so smoothly and was the best day of our lives.

The first vendor we booked!
We might not have had a wedding because of COVID, but we got amazing photos! David was wonderful to work with, he made everything easy for us, and gave great direction. All we can say is wow!! From the first time we saw David’s work we knew he had to photograph our wedding. He does such an amazing job! Simply amazing!

No joke, the best photographer and person you could ever ask for!
David was seriously the best photographer and person we could have gone with to support us and take beautiful photos on our wedding day. Not only did we love him, but both of our entire family members loved him. He was patient with everyone, family and bridal party included and made sure to prioritize what we wanted out of the day. I seriously cannot say enough kind things about this man's work and who he is as a person! He is so fun and made us feel comfortable and taken care of. After our engagement session I had no worries or anxieties about him capturing the beauty of our wedding day and all the laughs that came with it. He is work every penny and more! Hiring David Champagne as our wedding photographer for our October 2020 wedding in Virginia Beach was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. Not only were our wedding photographs absolutely unbelievable, but David got them back to us in just two days! David made the entire process so easy, even when we were unsure if we were going to be able to have our wedding as planned due to COVID, David always responded to our emails/calls within a day, reassuring us and answering all of our questions. His level of professionalism was outstanding, from the very beginning he helped us create a wedding day timeline that kept us on schedule throughout the entire day. David was an excellent communicator and for our entire wedding day he was always positive, calm, and had a great sense of humor that kept us laughing. David helped us with every aspect, from making recommendations for great spots for photographs, to making sure everyone in each photograph looked amazing, and even coaching us through all the little details! We never felt rushed taking pictures- David made sure we stayed ahead of schedule and made sure we were able to take every picture we wanted! Many guests came up to me throughout the evening to comment how friendly, organized, efficient, and professional our photographer was. I would absolutely recommend David Champagne to anyone that needs to hire a wedding photographer- his amazing photographs speak for themselves, but his experience, personality, and organization went above and beyond! Just wonderful
We used to David to photograph our 09/04/2020 wedding. He was amazing from start to finish. His pictures speak for themselves and he captured every detail perfectly. They’re absolutely beautiful and it’s so hard narrowing down favorites because they’re all great. David was also kind, flexible, and fun to work with. He was able to handle our three covid wedding dates and thankfully was available for our September wedding when covid prevented our original May and July dates! He was always just a quick email away. He worked hard to keep us on schedule the day of and made sure every detail was captured. He even helped the day of with showing us how to put my veil on and the boutineers on. He checked in to see if there were any other photos we wanted and even helped us rearrange our timeline to get awesome beach sunset photos. Oh and he had our photos back to us in TEN DAYS. Can’t say enough good things about David!!!

Talented Photographer!!
David Champagne is not only extremely talented, but professional and fun to work with! I did a bridal session that turned out amazing and he also included my family who came to help out! During our wedding day, he ensured we maintained our timeline and we were even running 10-15 mins early for most of it which was a huge stress reliever! When it decided to rain on our wedding day and limited our photo session during cocktail hour, David made sure we made the most of it and our pictures turned out better than we could have ever imagined despite not being able to stick to our original plan. You won’t regret hiring David Champagne for your big day! He knows how to use his cameras and doesn’t over edit photos like a lot of photographers do now-a-days. Thank you David! Wonderful Photographer!
David was wonderful - We can not say enough great things about him! We knew of David's work prior due to him capturing a local couple's wedding 4 years ago - we just knew that we had to book him for our own wedding! Our engagement photos were gorgeous (and a quick turn around time too). With our (COVID) wedding plans ever-changing due to the pandemic, David was very patient and keep continuous communication with us to make sure we were all up to date on the latest plans. When it was the day of the wedding, he was organized (which I am so grateful for), kept us to the timeline (we were even ahead of schedule!), and was definitely a calm presence during the rush of the day. Our photos arrived in a little over two weeks. We loved looking through all of our photos. He not only captures the small details of the day but the important candid moments and of course your portrait-like photos. Needless to say, we would definitely recommend David Champagne Photography!

We first found David from the wonderful pictures our venue had posted around their wedding showroom. We looked further into his reviews and portfolio on his website and knew we had to book him! Booking David as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! His warm, friendly personality was evident during our first video chat. Every time we communicated with David, we breathed a sigh of relief because we knew we had an absolute professional on our team. On the day of our wedding, David truly showed his professionalism, skill, and experience. He knew exactly how to pose our bridal party so we looked our best and he was able to make us laugh as he captured the perfect candids. His timeline planning was so efficient, flexible, and flawless. Look no further, David is the absolute best! We knew we had to have him after seeing his images, and he well exceeded our expectations! He captured our engagement photos as well as our wedding day. He clearly loves what he does, and the quality of his photos speaks for itself!
He is extremely professional and organized, and also super funny and creative. He’s always down for an adventure! During our engagement session he had us climbing out on rocks in the water to get the most beautiful dramatic shot. And during our wedding he brought us all the way up to the top of a garage to capture the sunset at the most perfect angle and time. During our actual ceremony and reception you wouldn’t know he was there, but the pictures show otherwise! He did not miss a single detail and captured all the right moments! He is so smart about where and how he sets up and moves around the space not to be a distraction. He wizzed through family pictures and did a great job of getting all our requests in a quick manner to keep things moving perfectly.
We have showed friends and family our wedding pictures and everyone is blown away by the quality of the pictures, the colors and the shots he got. David’s brilliant vision captured our most important moments just the way we wanted with so much emotion that we can re-live the happiness of our wedding every time we look at them. A Toast to Mr. Champagne
David was EXCELLENT! His communication was on point through the entire process. His schedule was flexible and we never felt like we were rushed. He caught some fire action shots during our dances and as the sun was setting. He was fine being pulled around during the reception to capture certain moments. Overall he was very easy to work with and I highly recommend him!

Could not have asked for a better photographer!
We can not express enough what a wonderful job David did for us. From the very first meeting it was clear that he was going to go above and beyond what we could expect. Not only did he have beautiful photos to show us of past events, and gorgeous options for photo albums, but he was able to lay out a timeline we could expect for the wedding day based on his past experiences (such as which tasks tend to run late, etc). Through every step of the planning process he would email the both of us with explicit instructions about what he needed in order to ensure we got all of the photos taken that we wanted. We could rest easy knowing that David had a plan for our big day. He kept us informed with out being pushy or burdening my already stressed out bride to be (Now wife) with minor details.
David helped us decide on a first look which was perfect as we were able to enjoy our entire cocktail hour. He kept everyone moving and on schedule during our photo sessions, and took beautiful photos. We had our friends bring our dog to our first photo session, David was very accommodating and even managed to keep our dog looking at the camera the entire time.
During the church ceremony and the reception David knew exactly where to be and when. He was never in the way, but always there taking the perfect photo when he had to be. We are both very impressed with the photos of our big day, and the treatment we received from the initial meeting until the last picture was taken.

We had both an engagement session and our wedding shot by David. His attention to detail is simply the best! He knows how to pose you in a way to flatter.. “shoulder back, elbow out, knee slightly bent” you won’t get your pictures back thinking you wish your arm looked better :) He truly is the best and there is a reason he has never had a bad review. He is easy to contact and stays in touch, covering every angle to make the already hectic day run smooth. The icing on the cake is that he sends you a flash drive with EVERY SINGLE PICTURE he took, even the funny blinking ones. Thank you, David. You made the best day of our lives that much better!!

David was AMAZING!! So amazing that I chose to hire him as our wedding photographer after my sister used him 3 years ago for her own wedding! I knew I had to have him as my photographer also. We got married this summer in June on a horse farm where I keep my horse. David was able to help my husband and I plan our wedding timeline which was so helpful since I didn’t have an actual wedding coordinator. He basically filled this role for us! David was able to make last minute schedule changes to better fit our needs. On the day of, he made sure to never make me feel rushed. He always said, “the bride is never late.” David captured our special day so well, I cannot thank him enough!! Our pictures turned out so wonderful, it was everything I could have ever asked for! He made sure to include pictures with my horse as well which had been my dream for years. Please do yourself a favor and hire David!! You won’t regret it and you’ll love every picture!!!

David was everything we could have hoped for! We feel so lucky to have gotten the chance to work with him. He was professional and helpful from the very beginning. On the day of the wedding he made sure we felt comfortable and helped direct our poses so the pictures would look as natural as possible. He showed us sneak peeks throughout the day which felt so special. The pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL and we got them SO fast! We got our pictures 5 days after the wedding and everyone who sees them says they’re the best they’ve seen! We have to agree :) We couldn’t recommend David enough!

David is absolutely amazing!! We are so thrilled we selected him for our wedding day.
Along the planning process ... my main focus was to capture our memories shared. He went above and beyond our expectations.
He is so kind and pays attention to detail. Honestly, as a bride worrying about the timeline and details of the big day is so common. But having David as our photographer, that stress was relieved. He created a timeline for the day to ensure we got great photos and candids.
He was so professional that ourselves and our guests didnt even realize he was there for the times celebrated.
And, I was apprehensive about photos taking up time (prior to meeting David), but he had a great plan and worked with us. We had a blast taking photos and we believe he truly captured us as who we are as a couple.
The photos came to us in such a timely manner, and he was supportive the entire wedding planning process, right up until the end of our big day.
I am obssessed with our photos and love sharing them. The quality is fantastic and everyone who has seen our photos is in such awe.
It feels like he captured a fairytale moment.
We can't wait to hire him again for another big event my husband and I might share.

Not only is David Champagne an amazingly talented photographer, but he’s a joy to work with! He captured beautiful memories of our daughter’s February wedding at New Life Church in Ghent and the reception that followed at the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth. He was very organized and went over many details with us prior to the wedding so that everything ran oh so smoothly the day of. He also had great suggestions for general wedding stress-busters and reminders based on his past experiences with brides, grooms, bridal parties, and families. Picking David as the photographer for my daughter's wedding was one of the best choices we made. We had the chance to view the work of several photographers at the same time and his work stood out as the best in the group. From first contact, through the planning stages, to the engagement shoot, and throughout the ten hours on the day of the wedding, he was nothing but highly professional, easy to work with, creative, and a joy to be around. From developing a timeline several weeks in advance, to being extremely helpful on the day of the wedding, and to crafting the 'perfect' shot, he continuously exceeded our expectations. Book David immediately. We simply cannot recommend David enough. He is the consummate professional and is worth every penny! David worked with us every step of the way from our engagement photos to the final product.
When we first me with David, he walked us through a sampling of his work and all of his different packages and products. The pricing structure he offers is very up front and no frills - you can add on pieces or products at any time with no penalty for not bundling them in the beginning. He even offers couples a payment plan to pay in installments leading up to the big day.
Leading up to the big day, David helped us craft a “must have” photo list and timeline to ensure everything went smoothly on the wedding day and maximize the available daylight while minimizing the impact that taking the pictures would have on the wedding party and our family enjoying themselves. His timeline planning kept our day organized and stress free!
On the wedding day, he was amazing - arriving early to ensure everything went exactly as planned and not leaving until we got some beautiful night time photos underneath the stars. While we were getting ready, he went above and beyond to set up the shots, make sure the dress looked perfect, and keep the wedding party organized and on schedule. During the event, he worked with us to perfect the lighting so that no off-camera umbrella flashes were needed and constantly checked up on us to see if there were any particular photos we wanted during the reception.
If David fits within your budget, it’s a no-brainer - he is THE BEST. If you can trim your budget elsewhere to fit him in, do it - he’s WORTH IT! If your wedding is out of the Hampton Roads area, then buy him a plane ticket… you won’t be disappointed.

David brought all my wishes and visions come true and beyond with my engagement and wedding pictures. His pictures are phenomenal. Not only that he is one of the kindest people I've ever met. He is capable of making everyone comfortable and he's funny. After I saw my engagement photos I knew I needed him for my wedding, which was in NY. David made everything easy on the business side and he was incredibly helpful the day of the wedding and before, creating a schedule for the day. My husband does NOT smile for pictures but David was able to get plenty. My friends and family loved him so much they were talking about him on a first name basis. I can’t say enough about David Champagne, he was absolutely wonderful! He is a true professional and went above and beyond just taking beautiful pictures. It is hard to stand and smile for hundreds of photos, but he made it easy and fun. He is so knowledgeable, not only in his field, but in the entire wedding process. We had no idea what we were doing when it came to planning the timing of our day but we knew that we wanted a first look, family photos before our outdoor ceremony, and sunset photos. David put together a timeline for the entire day to ensure we got all the photos we wanted. He was so calm and professional and kept everyone relaxed and happy. You can tell he really cares about your day and wants you to just enjoy it. That happiness really came through in our pictures. We were blown away by the moments and the looks that he was able to capture. Everyone that has seen our photos has been totally stunned by them. For us, the cost was a large portion of our budget but we had zero regrets about the investment from the very beginning. Working with David was one of the best parts of wedding planning! I discovered him at a bridal show and was immediately drawn to his friendliness, professionalism and the stunning modern images he had on display. The photographs had color and vibrancy that I'd never seen before- I loved them! We had David take our photos for both our engagement session and our wedding day (February 6, 2016). He was a huge help throughout the entire process- he helped us plan our wedding day timeline and offered imput when it came to our first look decision. At each session, David made my husband, myself and our bridal party comfortable in front of the camera. He really helped to keep us on schedule and made sure we got all the shots we wanted. I loved that we got a full 10 hours with him because it meant he could also be there for getting ready photos. We picked David when looking at several photographer's books at our venue. He caught our eye with his creativity, brilliant color, and overall eye for details. Engagement pictures were amazing and we really like the yearbook option. Our guests left us sweet messages on our wedding day 12 March 2016. David hands down went above and beyond! 10 hours hanging out with such a cool individual was worth it. We absolutely love our pictures and received them within two weeks since it was off season. The amount of beautiful pictures we received took us hours to go through - you definitely get your money's worth, and then some!
I appreciated David and his 2nd photographer's professionalism, kindness, and energy. My husband and I were all over the place during the reception, taking photos with friends, greeting family we hadn't seen in a while, and taking big family and friend photos; everywhere we went, David would be there, ready to take a photo! I never had to worry that a special moment might be missed - he captured every detail!
I know how stressful wedding planning is and how nerve-racking it can be to try and pick the perfect vendors. I assure you that David is the right pick!

It was fate that we found David and just in the nick of time. We had a tight deadline of 6 months to plan our Virginia Beach wedding and from out of town (AZ). As we vetted potential photographers and talked with friends and family we started realizing just how important it was to select the right photographer. We fell in love with his work, our wedding date was his absolute last opening for the season, and while we initially struggled with assigning so much of our budget to photography we knew it was the right decision.
Between our gorgeous engagement session, his patient and goofy interactions with our friends and family, and the amazing body of work that is our wedding photos, we are so glad we found him! We have the most amazing photos that will last us a lifetime. We were even able to enjoy some of our cocktail hour thanks to his suggestion to do a first look. Our bridal party was pretty happy to go straight from ceremony to the bar as well!
If you choose David you will not regret it. But don't wait, his talents have him in high demand so you better book your date before someone else does!

David is hands down the one and only person you should be hiring to take your wedding photographs! I am a photographer myself and I was super worried about finding someone but the moment I saw David's portfolio online I knew we had to hire him. He has excellent photography skills including being able to shoot in different lighting situations, pays attention to details, gets tons of different angles and has fun photos. He is the complete package! We just received our photos from our Oct 10th wedding and there are so many great ones it is so hard to pick our favorites. You can't go wrong with hiring David :)

David was amazing! Our wedding and engagement photos are everything I could have hoped and wished for! He was extremely professional (but so fun!) throughout the process. He helped create our day of timeline and rolled with the punches as we changed things last minute. Our pictures were ready so fast, I couldn’t believe it!

There aren't enough words to describe how incredible David was to work with. My husband and I received our photos back from our wedding on 27 September 2015 and were blown away by the attention to detail that was captured. David was such a pleasure to work with, had a great attitude and made our experience so much fun! He was extremely responsive via email and phone and was patient in answering any questions my husband and I had. He also captured our vision perfectly in photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. I would choose David Champagne photography again a million times over, I promise you will not be disappointed!

As the daughter of a professional photographer, we had very high expectations for wedding photography and relied heavily on recommendations from my father when selecting a wedding photographer. When he recommended we book David, we had no doubts after viewing his incredibly unique photography. David was always available if we had questions, helped us develop our event timeline, and gave us items to work on to ensure we maximized our schedule on the day-of. David arrived on-time and took the most breathtaking photographs of my husband and I on our wedding day. He captured stunning colors and emotions and really captured the day perfectly like a story book. Our wedding photos were ready within 2 weeks of our wedding day! The standard is 1-2 months! We HIGHLY recommend David. He is truly an artist and has the ability to shoot the most amazing moments in truly creative ways.
