Incredible DJ

DJ Joe was excellent to work with. We had a lot of special requests for processionals, recessionals, etc., some of which involved tight timing, and Joe nailed them. We gave him a list of songs, and he was able to pick up the vibe and flesh out the rest of the playlist from there. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Highlight of the night!

Dave Dionne was incredible for our wedding! He was incredibly flexible with our added guest performances during our reception and worked with us when we were behind schedule from the rain. The dance floor was packed all night. Dave was a great communicator before the wedding and mc'd well all night. We would highly recommend to anyone!

Amazing DJ!

DJ Dan is such an amazing DJ!! We hired Dionne Entertainment for our wedding and we are so glad we did. Working with them was an easy process and they really made our entire wedding so special. DJ Dan helped curate the songs for the wedding ceremony, dinner, and dancing. He matched my energy and we got along so great. I have never had so much fun dancing in my life. He knew how to keep the entire crowd from children to adults of all ages on the dance floor. I cared a lot about the music and DJ Dan was able to take my Spotify playlist and mix it up to exactly match the vibe of our guests. I could not recommend them enough!

Highlight of our reception

DJ Dan was the highlight of our reception! He kept the party going and even took song requests. All of our guests kept telling us how much they enjoyed the music and dancing. We highly recommend Dionne entertainment!

Highly Recommend!

We hired Dave to DJ our January 2023 wedding at the Harraseeket Inn. He came highly recommended by a mutual friend, and the reviews on WeddingWire speak for themselves! He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we loved his wide range of song selections. We had 45 people in attendance, ages 3 to 87, and everyone was on the dance floor.

Sean was great!

Our DJ was Sean. Sean gave great feedback during the planning process that helped us with our timeline, which felt above and beyond. He was a great DJ and MC, and everything went perfect. He was able to really smoothly incorporate our song requests and keep people on the dance floor.

Amazing Dance Party

My husband I booked DJ Paul from Dionne Entertainment for our wedding on 6-25-22. Leading up to booking, Dave (I believe he's the owner) chatted with me on the phone answering my many questions. After booking, I heard from Paul about five months prior to our wedding. He sent me a questionnaire to fill out going over all the music/emcee details for the day. We chatted about the questionnaire/all the wedding details about three weeks before the wedding, but it probably could have been earlier if I had gotten the form over earlier. I picked out all the songs myself, but I believe they are super willing to help if you’re stuck! During our phone conversation he helped us hone in on all the details.

For the actual day of the wedding, Paul made all the announcements I had hoped for and was super flexible/willing to change things last minute. I had to take a couple songs off my “Do not Play” as the older generation was begging for a few select songs, and he squeezed them in. He also squeezed in random requests I kept asking him for. I felt like every 10 minutes I was over there pestering him, but he wasn’t fazed and was so ready to roll with the punches! Because of all the requests, a couple songs on my “Must Play” weren’t played, but that is 100% my fault for having to squeeze in other random songs. Our dance party was AMAZING! The dance floor was going all night, and I heard from so many guests that it was the best dance floor.

My only complaint is that during my sister’s speech done with my cousin (they came up with a song that they performed together for their joint speech) my sister’s mic didn’t work, so my cousin seemed to be the only one singing. My sister was a bit sad, as they had spent so much time crafting the lyrics and rehearsing. It was definitely a fluke thing and despite that situation I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dionne Entertainment/DJ Paul for weddings and events. They were a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend Danny as a wedding DJ!

Danny did a fantastic job for our wedding ceremony + reception. He was communicative and attentive throughout the planning process. I really appreciated that he consistently checked in with us throughout the big day- from the moment he arrived through the end of the reception- to make sure we were all on the same page for the order of events and we’re happy with how everything was going. He also brought his own microphones, which he let us use for the ceremony + reception speeches too- this was super helpful as it was a detail we hadn’t thought about until the day of! Having him there definitely made the day run much smoother, which was invaluable for us; it took a lot of stress off our plates because we did the majority of the wedding planning ourselves. He coordinated all the announcements and activities perfectly, and had a great personality on top of it all. We highly recommend him for your wedding or any other event. Thanks again, Danny!

Dave is an amazing DJ!

Dave did such a great job as the DJ for our wedding. He was very responsive in advance of our wedding, sent us a very detailed questionnaire to make sure he understood exactly what we were looking for, and, most importantly, made sure that our guests had a blast the day of! He even set up the sound system for our ceremony even though we had live music playing for that portion of the day. We were looking for a pretty laid back DJ and didn't want to do a lot of the traditional wedding things at our reception (no big entrance, no traditional dances, etc.), and we are so appreciative that Dave listened to what we were looking for and just focused on making sure our guests were having fun and dancing all night!

Great DJ Services

Marcel DJ'ed our wedding last summer and he did a great job. He arrived early and was extremely flexible. He worked with us to play our desired pre-wedding and entrance music. He set up multiple locations to support music in different locations. He coordinated with us to ensure every audio need and desire was met. We would recommend him for any wedding.

Everything we were looking for!

We hired Dave for our wedding at the 1812 Farm in Bristol, ME. We reached out to him well in advance of the date he was incredibly responsive and professional. As we got closer to the wedding, Dave reached out and had us provide information on what we were looking for, and spent time on the phone with us to make sure we were on the same page, he knew what we liked (and didn’t like), had the names of the bridal party correct, etc. On the day, Dave did an amazing job creating the atmosphere we were looking for, and he got people out on the dance floor all night. Everyone had a great time and we could not be happier with how it went!

Incredible DJ!

We cannot thank Dave enough for the incredible job he did at our wedding this summer! Dave kept the dance floor absolutely packed all night and read the crowd perfectly. Throughout the night, friends kept saying "your DJ is killing it!" and friends of ours already hired Dave for their own wedding next summer. We can't wait to dance the night away with you again soon!

Outstanding Experience & Kept the Dance Floor Packed

Dave Dionne did an outstanding job for our wedding at Point Lookout. He was very professional throughout the entire process and was willing to have multiple calls to explain his experience, style, and review details such as do not play lists.

Once the wedding began Dave performed flawlessly for the entire event. Whether it was music for the ceremony, announcing events, or introducing members of the wedding party for speeches, Dave nailed every aspect. Once it was time for everyone to start dancing Dave maintained the perfect level of energy to keep the dance floor packed until the night was over.

If you are considering going with Dave we absolutely recommend him, and could not have been happier with the job he did at our wedding!

Awesome DJ!

Dave was awesome! He facilitated the reception just the way we wanted. His set up is amazing. Very experienced and knows exactly what to do. We did not have to worry about anything. Very nice and fun to talk to. He played hits all night long! We had guests coming up and saying that they didn't even have time to go to the bar because they didn't want to leave the dance floor. He knows how to get a crowd on their feet! Would highly recommend!

Seamless and So Much Fun!

Dionne Entertainment is amazing! Marcel was our DJ, and he was easy to make plans with. The system to choose music was comprehensive and very handy. We had so much control over what was played and what was not. Marcel made sure the atmosphere was fun and festive for everyone. We loved having him as our DJ!

Fabulous DJ!! Point Lookout Wedding

Dave was wonderful! He ensured all of our songs that were important played without a hitch (even with some special Russian music requests :) ). He was responsive, easy to work with, professional, and fun! He made sure the day was about us, and no corny jokes/ promoting like I have seen at other weddings. I recently hired Dave for my July 8th 2018 Peaks Island Wedding. After he did a phenomenal job DJing at my brother's wedding several years ago, I knew I needed to call him to book immediately when I got engaged.

I am happy to say that Dave did not disappoint, and was a complete class-act from beginning to end. He impressed me very much when he called several days before the wedding to go over everything with me and double-check name pronunciations. My husband's family is Swedish, so there were some unique names in there, and he introduced everyone perfectly!!

Dave was also very flexible. For example, my dad and I wanted to sing a duet together (rather than dance) as our father daughter moment. Dave was excited to help us make this happen and provided guidance for the appropriate audio. He also provided extra wireless mics, and even went through a sound check with us on the day of to make it perfect. It is a memory we will cherish forever, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without Dave.

Upon request, Dave also took the attention and care to doctor the beginning of my processional song during the ceremony, so that it would be the perfect length for walking in on.

From start to finish, I knew I didn't have to worry about a thing when it came to the music, because Dave was on it. He played the perfect music to keep the party going, for all age generations..I danced the whole night until the very end. He even through some popular Swedish songs in there when they were requested! I would highly recommend Dave for any event-- especially a wedding. You won't regret it!!

Marcel was fantastic!
Not just a DJ, but a complete master of the entire ceremony, a scheduler and organizer. The bride and groom had just complete confidence, nothing to worry about from the start of the wedding ceremony to the last dance. He was so organized ahead of time, and integrated music that related to different segments of the guests. He orchestrated the order of service, the timing of the entry, the toasts, announcements, the outdoor readings, and a surprise piano performance by the bride. Mixed the music to get Jess’ 84-year-old grandparents and her college friends dancing. Great, high energy to the night. Background music during cocktails and reception that set a theme, but didn’t overwhelm conversation. He also held to a veto list that the bride wanted to avoid (sorry, no line dances & no ABBA). Great experience. So glad we worked with Marcel.

We hired Dave for our wedding in July at Sunday River in Newry Maine. He was wonderful! We got a lot of great compliments on the music selection. Dave was very flexible as our party wanted to keep going an hour after we originally planned to end our reception. He always responded to emails and was very kind! He did our ceremony music, cocktail hour and the whole reception. Would highly recommend.

Joe was very easy to work with and was very professional. He did an amazing job keeping people on the dance floor the entire night He was able to feel out the crowd and their likes very quickly. We were beyond pleased with Marcel's services at our wedding. He kept everything moving smoothly without rushing anything, he kept us updated on what was going on without being intrusive, he played exactly the kind of music we were looking for, and he kept the energy, dancing, and all around good vibes going all night. Everyone there had a fabulous time, a lot of people said it was the best wedding they've ever gone to - and Marcel was a big part of making that happen.

A friend of mine recommended Marcel, so I was sure he would do a good job - but he vastly exceeded my expectations. Basically, he was phenomenal. I would recommend Marcel without hesitation.

My husband and I planned our wedding in Phippsburg, ME from our home south of Boston, MA. We were a little worried because we had never met Dave in person before the big day. We had nothing to worry about! Dave was on point - he was professional, extremely responsive and very easy to work with. Dave made me feel like he had everything under control (which he definitely did!), and instilled confidence in me during the final days of planning. My wife already wrote a review for Marcel, but I felt that he did such a great job he needed 2 reviews!

Marcel and his son did an outstanding job working with us through out the evening. Marcel checked in when needed, kept everything moving from ceremony through dinner to the reception, and nailed the music. The music selection was a great combination of requests from guests and Marcel's own carefully curated playlists. We had originally requested different hours than what we actually needed(miscommunication on our part), and Marcel checked in with us several times during the reception and allowed us to extend his time with us right then and there since everyone was enjoying themselves so much. I highly recommend using him.

We worked with Marcel for our wedding, and he did a stellar job. Our venue required him to set up in four separate areas for the ceremony, dinner, dancing, and cocktail hour, and everything was seamless. Including live musicians and our officiant in an outdoor ceremony setting, not easy to make sound good and he did great!! His announcing was excellent, and music choice perfectly combined our requested moods and artists with complementary music that he chose. Everyone was dancing at the reception, and there was an excellent variety of music. He took requests from our guests, and checked in with my husband and I frequently throughout the night to make sure we were aware of the flow and pacing he was facilitating. We would recommend him in a heartbeat! Thank you Marcel!!

Dave did a great job getting people of all ages onto the dance floor and keeping people dancing. He was professional and kept all the planned events on track (first dance, parent dance, cake cutting). He also mixed in a few slow songs during the night which was a nice surprise.

Joe kept the party going at our October 2016 Hardy Farm wedding. We had such a blast dancing on our wedding night, thanks to Joe. I mostly communicated with Dave leading up to the event and he was always very helpful and responsive. Joe and I checked in closer to the wedding day. He was very flexible, paid attention to details and was able to accommodate requests throughout the night. Thanks Joe!

When we were deciding on our wedding date, there were two factors we were taking into consideration - is our venue available, and is Joe Dionne available to DJ! He was the DJ at our close friend's wedding, and we just loved how he was fun (without being too "look-at-me"), organized, accommodating, etc. - he knew how to read the crowd, and he is absolutely a professional. When it came to wedding DJs, we knew we wanted someone who knew what they were doing, but also would be willing to use our input for music requests, etc. as guidance. Joe was that perfect combination.

Dave was one of the main reasons our wedding was such a success! We put "DJ Choice" for about every song, and it was the best decision we could have made! We used DJ Paul for our wedding. Paul was amazing. We had numerous emails back and forth and he was always very responsive and accommodating to our needs. He met with us before the wedding to go over everything, and was in touch days before the wedding. During our ceremony and reception, he was very professional and fun! He played the music we asked him to play, and did not play things on our "do not play list". We were also running behind a bit during our reception, so he helped us rearrange some things to keep the party flowing. We were sad the party had to end!

My husband and I LOVED working with Dave Dionne for our wedding last week. He covered all the bases, was on time for the wedding, and even brought sound equipment for some of our friends who did some music for the ceremony. Dave was flexible in his availability and we actually hired him for a total of 10.5 hours for our ceremony and reception. He was great to interact with and made sure that all of our planning went smoothly and accommodated to all of our requests. In no small part he helped make our wedding into a great event.
One quality that ranked high in importance for me was the DJ's voice. I wanted a DJ with good voice inflection and tone and Dave delivered on this front with his many years as a radio show host. Would definitely give him an A+ all around and would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a fantastic DJ for their wedding!

We had James last night as our DJ for our wedding reception, and he was honestly so fantastic. I wasn't nervous at all about the music, as I had provided some requests between my now husband and I, and he was able to work those songs in as well as his own jams. We had a restriction that we couldn't play loud music until 9pm as the restaurant downstairs wasn't yet closed, and he worked with it. It sounds so cliche, but he was just great. He kept me informed as to what was coming next and when it was coming, he maintained a smooth flow and transitions, and it was almost like he was a guest rather than strictly our DJ. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. In addition to just him as a DJ, I was in communication many times with Dave to organize everything, and it was such a breeze. I live about an hour and some change away from their location, and I did everything through emails and phone calls, and it was probably the least stressful part of our wedding planning.

I was worried about going with an apprentice DJ since music is such an integral part of a wedding. For this reason I created a pretty extensive playlist which James did a great job of working with. His transitions were seamless, he did a great job quickly playing requests from our guests (even very off the beaten path song requests). We specifically asked for minimal MCing, which he respected. He communicated well to keep the flow and keep our guests dancing! He even brought his own lighting, which we weren't expecting and really helped set the scene for dancing.

I was a little hesitant at first to hire a less experienced DJ but James did such an amazing job with our wedding I am so glad we went with him! We met with him beforehand and gave him an idea of the genre's we were interested in and I provided a song list that he did a good job of covering. Also, he took our "do not play" list into consideration when people were requesting songs and even let me know at the reception that several people had requested the same song on my "absolutely not list". I ended up caving in and allowed him to play it (ughh: Cupid Shuffle) but it made our guests happy so it was worth it. His MC service was great and he moved the night along without us needing to remember a thing. We are very happy with his service!

My sister knew Dave through the wedding circle, she heard him at a few of her events and told me I must have Dave DJ my wedding, I could't have agreed with her more. I believe that DJ's can make or break a wedding and Dave FOR SURE, made my wedding! We had a blast and danced the night away. I had Dave set up audio for my outside wedding, he then moved to our cocktail hour playing music there and then into the reception. He has all the up to date music and totally has the DJ voice. He played everything on my list and anytime I emailed him he got back to me within an hour, amazing! I can't say enough how thankful I am that we hired Dave as our DJ. You cannot go wrong!

My husband and I got married this past June on Peaks Island, Maine. We had Marcel as our DJ, and I cannot recommend him enough! We met with him before the wedding, and he has a gift to make the wedding day schedule truly unique to the couple. His music selection was great, especially when you have a large mix of ages. Joe Dionne comes highly recommended from us. Our wedding took place in the quaint town of Boothbay Harbor in July and Joe helped in making our day successful. He catered to the crowd and almost all of our guests were up dancing. We changed up the order of reception some and Joe was very flexible. He was very reasonably priced and if we have another need for a DJ in the future, we would definitely hire him again. Thanks for a wonderful night!!

We were very happy with Joe Dionne. He provided services for our wedding ceremony and reception at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area.

For the ceremony he provided the pre-ceremony and ceremony music, officiant mic and mic/stand for our readers. Everything went smoothly. For the 4 hour reception he was great, non-instrusive, non-cheesy, but professional and we trusted that he knew was he was doing.

We had a few unique details that Joe was so helpful with. We planned to interrupt the father/daughter dancewith a faster/more upbeat song...and he also helped to convert a YouTube video so our friend could sing to an instrumental version of a song for us. We felt like we truly were in good hands with an experienced professional all night. If something went wrong, we had no idea! Our guests were on the dance floor all night.

The 2 things I would have changed for our wedding music were no fault of Joe/Dionne Entertainment (just my 2 cents if that helps other couples!)
We accepted requests.... there were a few songs requested by our guests that I went Hmmm about. As a type A bride, in hindsight I would have probably not accepted requests and dictated more songs for the dance floor.
Also, I wish I knew if there would be an encore after the last song - so we could have that chose and queued up (our guests made suggestions and Joe was really flexible for that), but for us, choosing the last song was one of the hardest ones to decide and we would have preferred to plan that too.

Overall, they were very organized and easy to work with. We had good value, they were flexible and responsive throughout the planning process. We had a great atmosphere on the dance floor with people of all ages dancing the whole night. I would highly recommend.

We had Dave as our DJ at our wedding this past December. He did such a good job (and he's a nice guy too)! He played so many of our requests and did a great job intuiting the music we'd like to hear based on our request list. Everyone was dancing and having a great time! Dave was very responsive with email, came (and left) on time, was a great price compared to other DJ's I contacted and was also good about setting up in a short amount of time. I also liked that uplighting was part of the package. It's not something I would've chosen to add on, but it actually added a lot to the party atmosphere. My husband and I highly recommend Dave Dionne as a wedding DJ!

Dave Dionne was a wonderful DJ. He was always available and he has a great system and questionnaire that you fill out. Once it's complete he does the rest. When the music started to play for the wedding party I almost cried is was so clear and lovely to hear. Every song I wanted for every special moment was played to perfection. very reasonable pricing for the service and quality Dave offers. I would recommend Dave to anyone. We had Joe Dionne DJ our recent wedding at Sebasco Harbor in Maine and he was awesome! We were planning our wedding from Boston, and we were unable to meet him ahead of time. The Dionne's quick responses via email reassured all our planning and our day went off without a hitch. Joe was totally cool. Dave Dionne was the DJ at our wedding in York, Maine. Being out-of-towners hosting a destination wedding in Maine, it was so easy to work w/ Dave. He was extremely responsiveness, and invited us into his house for our first sit down to review wedding details, and because of his good relationship with all of the local vendors, we hardly had to do anything other than show up! He played all of our specified songs exactly as requested and played a great selection of music throughout the evening that had the guests dancing. We had Joe Dionne as our DJ and he was wonderful! He did a fabulous job with both our ceremony and reception music. We gave him a bunch of songs for reception entrances, our first dance, and the last songs and he definitely listened to us and executed our vision. He was up beat, kind, and wonderful to work with. We worked with Marcel Leclair he was beyond AMAZING! He played the music we wanted and was great at keeping the party going. I don't think that I stopped dancing the whole night. We've witnessed Dave Dionne's DJ services twice,at a niece's wedding reception two years ago and most recently for our daughter's wedding this past weekend. Both times were excellent and he had all those who chose to do so up dancing all night. Nice variety to please all tastes.

I wanted every bit of a fairy tale wedding (what bride doesn't?!), but knew I had to stay within budget. When I contacted Dave, he was helpful and suggested using his son, James, as our DJ to stay within budget. James met with us twice and both times was very professional and helpful. He supplied the sound for our ceremony as well as the reception. He took requests and made sure our guests were having a great time. DJ Dave Dionne was FaNtAsTiC! We had SUCH a wonderful time at the wedding and the music and MC'ing that he did was so much fun. If we had to do it all over again we'd be on the phone to Dave in a heartbeat!

I got married in Jamaica at Sunset Beach resort and I hired Dave last minute through my photographer - as they were travelling together to work at another wedding after mine, so he was already bringing his DJ equipment to Jamaica. Initially, I was supposed to have the resort's DJ work at my wedding reception - a bonfire on the beach for 3 hours - but Dave offered to DJ my wedding and his price was similar to that of the resort. It all happened last minute and I was very happy and impressed with his service.

Dave was extremely quick to reply to emails. I gave him a list of song requests, but asked that he mix it up with current popular music and I felt he did an excellent job!!! He spoke French and English which was perfect since my husband's family is French. I don't have much to compare to nor was I sure what my expectations should be for a DJ, but I can say that I attended another wedding a couple of days later at the same resort - and therefore was able to compare with the resort DJ. I found the quality of Dave's service was far superior and it made me really appreciate that I made the last minute decision to go with him.

Another example of how great (and accommodating) he was, was that we had not planned for a parent-child dance, but my husband's mother wanted one. I had no songs in mind, but Dave came up with a perfect one virtually on the spot! He really made everything go very smoothly and I definitely recommend him!!

Dave was awesome--he did our ceremony outside and then DJ'd inside for the reception. If you gave him a schedule, he followed it, if he had any questions during the reception, he asked.

He kept the crowd going. in a nutshell--Dave is awesome!!!!

I would HIGHLY recommend Dave Dionne for anyone's DJ. What a blast he was & what an amazing job he did. Everything at our reception ran so smoothly, and he had everyone out on the floor the entire night. He was extremely professional, but also made you feel completely comfortable to walk up and talk to him. Great guy, great service, great experience. Thank you for making our reception one that so many have said, "I have NEVER had SO MUCH fun at a wedding in my life!!!!"

I would certainly recommend Dave Dionne to be your DJ, especially if you want everyone dancing! Dave was such a pleasure to work with from the very beginning stages. He was very responsive any time that I emailed him he responded quickly. He also was very thorough when my husband and I met with him to talk about our day. He arrived to our location prior to the time we had even expected him! He was very accommodating as well, we needed a separate system for our ceremony and he brought that and our Reverend needed a special musical sound bit for the ceremony and he helped her to add this into her service. As far as the reception he did a great job as an emcee (he has a great voice for it!) and he had everyone dancing the entire night! And I mean everyone! Thank you so much Dave for helping to make our wedding a blast!

My husband and I would like to recommend Dave Dionne. My brother-in-law and my sister-in-law both were recently married and all three of us chose Dionne DJs. At all three weddings Dave and Joe were professional, on time, and easy to work with! Dave did a fantastic job at our wedding. He played just the right amount of variety. We know that our guests had a great time! We are so happy that we chose Dave as our DJ and we would recommend him to anyone!

I can't say enough good things about Dave Dionne. We loved having him as our DJ. I first met with Dave at his home and he was extremely professional, as well as making me feel very comfortable about his services and style. He has the perfect "dj voice" and is a pro when it comes to the flow of a reception. He totally took care of everything. He also has some great ideas about games/things to do throughout the night...things that aren't cheesy, but fun.
We gave Dave a list of songs that we liked and he stuck to the majority of those for the evening...we had no issues at all with the playlist or flow of the evening and dances. The dance floor was totally packed!! Dave was great about responding by email, calling, etc. His contract was easy to follow and very upfront. He is great about getting all of the information he needs upfront. I would highly recommend Dave or Joe (I had some friends who hired Joe and they were extremely happy as well) for any wedding or family function. They are great Maine DJ's!! Dave also works very closely and well with Kim Chapman (photography).

All 150 of our guests LOVED our reception and were up dancing at one time or another! Dave's music selections were perfect for our diverse group (ages 3 to 73!) and everything flowed beautifully. He provided the perfect soundtrack for our party, from the lively cocktail hour, through the elegant dinner, to the joyful dance party! He also for worked to find the acoustic version of the song we wanted for out first dance. It was exactly as we envisioned!

I worked with both Dave and Joe but Joe actually was there for the wedding. He was wonderful! Played all of our requests, even the ones that were a bit strange. He also did a wonderful job announcing everyone in and keeping everyone on the dance floor :-)

I worked with Joe doe my wedding. He was amazing. Met with me beforehand to work things out, listened well, followed all of my wishes, and kept everyone dancing. He was fun without being too silly or goofy. It was perfect.

I had a great experience working with Dave Dionne. He was recommended to me by a friend who had been to a wedding he DJ'd, and I read additional reviews on WW. He was completely professional, and did a great job of playing a mix of slow dance songs and fun dance songs, without playing anything too cheesy. :) He played everything I requested and was able to find every song I asked for - even a few obscure songs that I thought I might need to send him, he got for himself. He also took a few requests from my guests and played them almost immediately. He was a lot of fun and did a wonderful job of reading the crowd. I would definitely recommended him!

My fiancee and I did not intend on having a DJ at our 40 guest wedding reception until 4 months prior to our day. We were nervous about selecting vendors as this was a destination wedding for us, and didn't have the ability to rely on friends/family recommendations, nor would we be able to meet with them ahead of time. Upon our first inquiry to Dionne Entertainment, Dave was so responsive, reaching out immediately with a variety of resources to help us make our decisions that much easier! He was incredible on our wedding day! He managed the timing and flow of our reception, got every guests from 1 to 90 out of their seats, played EVERY request we had, and even danced along behind the booth himself! Dave came completely prepared - including providing additional lighting that came in handy at the last minute. We also had a few timing adjustments and Dave managed them professionally on our behalf to ensure a smooth event.

We have nothing but good things to say and are so thrilled that Dave was our DJ - thanks Dave!!

My husband and I worked with James Dionne for our June 2012 wedding. All communication goes through Dave and he does good about setting things up. We met with James once before the wedding and were happy with him. He made sure he had all of the music that we had requested. He even went and got a song that we were considering using just incase we wanted it. The reception went great, he played a variety of music and our guests seemed to enjoy themselves. I would recommend James to other couples. He did a great job.

We didn’t want to use a DJ at our wedding, as we have heard so many awful ones at other weddings. But Joe, proved to us that a DJ can be AWESOME. I had a pretty large list of songs I wanted played and a specific mood I wanted to set- Joe executed everything flawlessly… even better than I dreamed of. We had so many people say to us, “Wow, this is the best DJ I have heard at a wedding!” My mom (who has heard those other awful DJ’s) was nervous- at the end of the night she said, “I wish he was at every wedding I go to! He was professional and so wonderful!” And Dave has the patience of a saint. I must have sent out a million e-mails and he was always quick to respond and had an answer for everything. I appreciate all of the time he spent working with me! I was nervous that we never got to meet them beforehand, but all of the correspondence put me at ease. If I had to do it all over again I would do it in a heartbeat! (And if we could have afforded it I would have had him stay longer!)

Great Music

Music and djing was great! Only critique is that I wish our DJ let us know he was bringing a second person so that we could have planned on feeding them. Otherwise, John did a great job!

Dionne entertainment was recommended to us by our venue, French's Point. We communicated primarily with Dave Dionne, but Joe Dionne was the DJ for our reception. There were a couple hiccups in communication prior to everything, but we straightened that out and had a good, productive phone conversation with Joe a few days prior to the reception and hammered out all the details. Joe was very professional and open to everything we suggested, as well as providing some good suggestions to us about what we may want to do. Our instructions for the dancing part of the reception were basically, "Here's the music we like. We know it's not dance music, so we trust you to come up with some stuff we'll like that people can dance to as long as there's no cheesy Macarena or Cupid Shuffle stuff in there. People are allowed to make requests, but use your discretion as to whether it'll work with what's going on." And he did a great job! People danced. There weren't any songs I hated. He cut off the awkward special dances songs at just the right time to preserve the moment, but not prolong the awkwardness. We had a number of compliments about our DJ and I would certainly recommend him to others.

Joe was terrific the night of our wedding. We left a lot of our music selection up to him, and he hit it out of the park. We (and all of our friends) were dancing all night to Joe's selections - we were having so much fun I almost forgot to toss my bouquet! When the schedule needed to be adjusted for announced items Joe was happy to delay, and he was quick to identify potential problems (very long dances with our parents songs, for example). His emceeing was informative and funny, but not overbearing, and Joe was so fun and organized to work with all night. Everybody loved Joe's work, and we'll hire him in a heartbeat the next time we throw a huge party in Portland!

Dave Dionne did a wonderful job providing entertainmment for our reception. We gave him a list of songs we wanted to hear during cocktail hour, dinner, and then for dancing and he catered to our every wish. He's a very considerate DJ that is not "showy" and keeps the focus on what's important - the bride and groom.

I gave him 4 stars for flexibility because our reception was still going strong at 12 midnight and we wanted him to play longer but he would not. The midnight cut-off was not mentioned in our contract, but I also assumed that he would play as long as we wanted if the party was still going. More communication early on would have prevented this. The reception was a blast, nonetheless.

I am overwhelmed with how amazing Dave Dionne did at our wedding!! Upon first meeting him, and checking out his accomplishments, I almost thought he was kidding with how much he has done. He absolutely was not! I was semi-late to the ceremony, but I heard he handled the processional very well with keeping the song going! He played every single song I requested and kept our guests dancing all night long! I couldn't have asked for a better DJ! I highly recommend him to anyone looking for entertainment for any event! Amazing!
