Daurisa’s talent did not disappoint!
From start to finish throughout the process Daurisa was not only professional but she was personable and made us feel comfortable from the start. Her talent and skills for makeup is an art and speaks for themselves. My daughter was blown away with her final look and received so many compliments at Prom. Thank you Daurisa❤️❤️ -

When I find a good person, I stick with it them. I have hired dozens of makeup artists throughout the years - and Daurisa is a true standout and I intend to work with her for many years to come. I have known and worked with her for nearly a decade and will not call anyone else when I am in the New York City area and need a makeup artist for important meetings and events. She is kind, caring, warm, funny, reliable, thoughtful, passionate, professional - and incredibly talented!!! I highly recommend her for any makeup needs. Daurisa recently did my makeup for my wedding, along with my 10 bridesmaids, my mother, mother-in-law, and even my husband, and she absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the moment she arrived, she made the entire process seamless, stress free, and fun.
Daurisa’s artistry is unparalleled. She has a true gift for bringing out natural beauty while making you feel like the most glamorous version of yourself. She worked her magic on everyone, flawlessly tailoring each look to suit individual styles and features. Daurisa was very professional, on time, polite, and thoughtful of the entire wedding party and their particular needs. She is very neat and maintains a well clean area and makes sure she does not use the same makeup applicators on her clients. Each client she made up had a brand new make up applicator. She was very attentive to the bride and made sure the wedding party’s make up was flawless. I would greatly recommend Mrs. Tessier to any looking for a MUA. Thank you Dori. -

If you’re a woman of color looking for someone, she’s your person.
Daurissa made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. Not only is she a wonderful makeup artist she is professional and so personable. I felt like I was working with one of my friends on my wedding day. Amazing makeup artist
Dori was godsend for my wedding in September of 2019. My first interaction with her was for my trial, which she came to my house and made me feel like a princess. She listened to my concerns and was so personable. On the day I my wedding she did 7 of us for my wedding party and two additional people and made us look perfect. Each person had an individual look that complemented their skin. She also stayed to ensure that my face didn’t fall apart during my reception. Thank you for being a part of our day Dori. She is such a true professional. She was on time with having everyone's makeup in time for pictures to be done. And a team player when it comes to working with other vendors. Which are all key factors for me when it comes to recommending vendors to my brides.

I meet Daurisa December of 2018. She was recommended to me by my photographer. We set up a day for the makeup trial and from there on I knew she was the MUA for me. She is an absolute sweetheart. She is very passionate about her craft which I love. She was very communicative and professional. I was able to tell her what I like and she took it and made it into something beyond my wildest dreams. I looked amazing. Her skills are out of this world! Everyone in my bridal party loved their makeup! Besides the makeup, I loved the fact that she cared about me. That is something that I was looking for with my vendors. You spend a lot of money and you also spend a lot of time with your vendors. You want people who not only care about their business but also cares about you and with Duarisa you get both. -

Let me start by saying I do not will make up ever and I am in my early 40s, So it was very hard for me to come to this conclusion. I was so nervous about picking a make up artist because I was afraid that I would not look like myself. This is one of the reasons why I don't wear make up because I don't need it. So after reviewing and interviewing 10 different make up artist I decided to go with Daurisa. And it is the best decision I made. She is well versed with years upon years of experience she knew exactly what I needed and exactly what I wanted without hesitation she responded to my text messages and calls quickly. She ended up doing My make up for mine engagement photo shoot. I received so many compliments I was starting to get a big head… lol I couldn't believe the transformation I felt and looked as if I belonged on the cover of essence magazine I bought her immediately for my wedding and I haven't regretted my decision yet -

Makeup- I have been searching for a makeup artist for my wedding for about 2 months, It was really hard to find someone that lived in Jersey and also someone who could do brown skin women makeup the right way. I’m so happy that I randomly came across WeddingWire one day while browsing because I found an amazing makeup artist. Daurisa was extremely helpful and very professional, she always responded to my texts within 5 minutes if not immediately and one day during our conversation I asked her if she knew any hairstylist because I couldn’t find someone to do my hair for my wedding and as soon as she told me that she can do hair too and right then and there I was in HEAVEN. When my wedding day came Daurisa arrived 3o minuted before to set up and once I got to the bridal suite she was ready to go, she is a fun, kind and a true delight to work with. She completely stayed all of my bridesmaids makeup and they loved it so much which is nice because two of them never wore make up before and they were extremely pleased with the results. But HONEY she did my hair and makeup so dam good that when my groom saw me for our first look he literally fell to the ground (a reaction I would have never expected) and its all because of the great job Daurisa did. I’ve received so many compliments on my makeup all night long and I can’t wait to share her contact info with all of my” brides to be” friends. I can’t thank her enough for a job beyond well done! -

Daurisa is the best MUA...
When I first contacted Daurisa she was nothing but professional!!! She was there for me the moment I hired her for my Wedding. I didn't even have a trial with her I just trusted her work just by looking at her photos. When she came for my day she was so sweet... She did and amazing job with my whole bridal party and myself. My makeup was so beautiful and elegant. I definitely recommend... I Love Daurisa we became family. ❤️ -

Daurisa is a talented individual but at times she lacks professionalism and can be a bit indignant/controlling. Prior to my wedding she called me and asked why didn't book her for hair along with makeup services. I told her I didn't know she did hair and I found someone who I connected with on StyleSeat. She then followed up with "well I've posted my bridal hair work on social." I felt it was a bit forward and odd. It also felt acquisitive because prior to that she had her husband follow me on social because he is a realtor in NJ. I have no issue with supporting anyone's business. My parents were/are business owners. But Daurisa has no boundaries and at times her energy comes off very pushy.
She made me look beautiful for my wedding day but she didn't take into consideration my mother's or bridal party's concerns. My mother has sensitive skin and wanted to use Clinique. Daurisa told her she hates Clinique and won't use the foundation my mother brought with her. While I understand that she doesn't have to use my mother's products, she didn't share what products she actually uses. And yes, I asked her beforehand but she never shares the actual brands, she just says "top brands."
This isn't actually true. Daurisa mixes "top brands" with lower end brands (which again is not a problem but points to the lack of transparency). My MOHs didn't like their makeup because it appeared heavy and when they requested she make a few changes, she told them they looked fine. It was until my MOH kept asking her to make changes, she decided to make changes.
Daurisa also requires you to provide a meal for her in her contract. I got everyone bagels, muffins and juice for breakfast. Daurisa thought it was too many carbs and thought I should have provided fruit or healthier options. I provided what I could afford ($136) and what the majority of people (bridal party/in-laws) eats. We also bought her Starbucks ( and she didn't ask for a fruit cup or anything that would be more aligned with healthier options).
In the contract, she said she would provide a mini facial and she did not. She gave me gold eye patches and got upset when my MOH took them off when they were dried up and falling off of my face. She also did not provide a touch-up gift.
Again, I want to say she is talented--everyone said I looked stunning on my wedding day but she needs to work on her professionalism, transparency and attitude.
