We were fortunate enough to know Darrell and Kristin after they photographed our best friend's wedding and we consider ourselves so fortunate to know them even better now and to have been able to use them as our wedding photographer! For people who don't love to be the center of attention, they made the entire experience of being photographed so comfortable! They were a joy to be around, were so quick to get our photos and sneak peaks back to us, and made sure that we got every single shot we hoped for! Our experience was a 11/10 and we will forever be grateful for their professionalism and talent. -

Always a smooth, enjoyable process
I met Darrell when he photographed my sister's wedding in October of 2016. We loved his photos and him as a person so much that I had to have him for my wedding as well. Bonus for me, his wife was back in business as his partner in crime and they are a power couple. Side note, she was on maternity leave for my sister's wedding. This dynamic duo made my day so memorable and made family photos extremely smooth (even having to corral a huge Jewish family). They are a joy to be around and were such a great presence to have close on the best day of my life🥰 -

Darrell and his wife were lovely to work with. Our engagement photos were perfect and the day of our wedding they understood everything we wanted out of the day and were right there to capture it without distracting us from our guests. They were very easy to talk to and coordinate with and I would never hesitate to use their services again or recommend them to others. -

Hiring Darrell and his wife Kristin was the best decision. Our wedding day went flawlessly and they were to thank. They both were very organized. My groom and I got ready in two separate places and it worked perfectly because Kristin was able to photograph the groomsmen and Darrell the bridesmaids. I felt like they captured every little detail; from the groomsmen Ravens socks to the bridesmaids coffee mugs. After our ceremony, at the church, they had a list of every person that we wanted to be photographed. We were able to take every picture we wanted even though we were on a tight timeline since mass started soon after our wedding. At the reception, Darrell not only took pictures but gave suggestions on how to easily cut our cake and even kicked out some wedding crashers. My groom and I loved them and can’t wait to see our wedding photos!! -

Lindsey Sent on 08/19/2018Picking Darrell and Kristen as our photographers was the easiest and best decision we made in the planning process. Within 10 minutes of talking to them during our consultation we had made up our minds. They are both extremely friendly and professional, and have a lot of knowledge and experience. They gave us everything we wanted and offered plenty of helpful suggestions along the way.
We have heard so many horror stories of overpriced photos that didn't look great, long and unorganized photo sessions, couples that didn't get rights to their photos, and photographers that took a very long time to deliver the product. We didn't have any of these issues with Darrell and Kristen. Every minute working with them was a great pleasure, from our first meeting to the very last photo. The value of everything we got was incredible. Included in the price was every photo taken with the rights, an album of 80-90 photos created by them, an engagement photo session, an online gallery for our guests to view, and no time limit. And we had them all day, which was incredible.
It might seem unnecessary to some, but we were very grateful to have both Darrell and Kristen all day. Darrell captured photos of me and my bridesmaids getting ready while Kristen snapped my husband and his groomsmen. They took a lot of great pictures and never seemed rushed or pressured with both of them present. Every moment of our special day was captured on film. Unfortunately we had to move our wedding inside due to rain, but there were a few times when the weather cooperated and we had some glimmers of sunshine. Darrell was on top of it and quickly gathered my husband and I to go take some photos outside, while Kristen stayed to take pictures of all our guests.
Not a moment of our special day was missed and there were no bad photos. Darrell and Kristen are extremely professional and passionate about what they do. We are thrilled with the finished product and are very glad that we chose them. -

Megan Sent on 02/21/2018We had the most wonderful experience with Darrell McDavid Photography! They shot our engagement session, and we had the best time during the photo shoot! Darrell and Kristin were relaxed, laid back, and efficient. They were friendly and genuinely wanted to get to know us and our story. As soon as we saw the photos, our instincts were confirmed; they would be the ones to photograph our wedding! Leading up to the wedding day, they asked for information about who we would like to have photos with after the ceremony, who we wanted pictures with at the reception, and any other special requests to make our day perfect. Kristin and Darrell split up, which made the most of their time with us while my now husband and I were getting ready with our own parties. They were prompt and on time and were so willing to make this day exactly what we wanted. We received our photos within the timeline they promised, and we could not have been more in love with the photos from our wedding and reception! They captured the day perfectly, and we felt like we were back in the middle of the best day of our lives. There really is no other option when it comes to wedding photographers! I am certain we will be using them in the future for other photo sessions!

James Sent on 02/16/2018My wife and I are extremely pleased with our wedding photos we got from Darrell and Kristen. They did a great job of capturing our entire wedding and instilled our rustic theme in all of the pictures! Darrell and Kristen were easy to work with and very accommodating. We received nearly 700 pictures and yet I barely remember seeing them. I have been at other weddings where the photographer looks like the bride and grooms shadow, this was not the case. Lastly we received our pictures quickly after the wedding. I have heard of people waiting over 6 months for there pictures. We received them about 6 weeks after the wedding on Christmas Eve, it made our holiday season! All and all top quality professional photography here. very pleased with out choice :)

Every part of your wedding day is stressful and crazy, but at the end of the day when that is all said and done you only have memories and pictures to remember that. Our pictures were perfect! Darrell and Kristen are so patient, easy going and so much fun to work with. I couldn’t have imagined our special day without them. If you want top knotch pictures...they are your go to!

They were laid back, professional, prompt to respond to my (many) emails, and all in all just great people to work with. From our engagement shoot to being there literally the entire day of our wedding, they made everything easy and stress free. We have only gotten our sneak peek pics back so far but they are BEAUTIFUL! Darrell and Kristin are worth well more than what we paid for them and I have no doubt that the rest of our pictures will be equally beautiful and can't wait to see them!

We began our search online, and then soon heard about Darrell and Kristen through mutual friends. We checked out their website and soon met face to face. Darrell immediately had a lasting impact on his with his knowledge of business, openness, professionalism, and high engagement. Furthermore, Darrell and Kristen's work spoke for itself upon seeing it. We hired Darrell and Kristen and are happy to say that we would do it 100x over if we could again.
Professionalism, insightfulness, creativity, engagement, flexibility, passion, execution, personable, excellence, are just a few adjectives I can relay describing our time with Darrell and Kristen. They will provide you with excellent service and will continue to go above and beyond what is asked with no hesitation.
Darrell and Kristen- we thank you both for an amazing experience making our day that much more special. You captured my beautiful bride and our day perfectly, and we cannot wait to see our final products.

Leading up to the wedding day, we had a fabulous engagement session with Darrell with beautiful photos as a result. They are quick to respond to emails, answered all our questions, and have been so great to work with. We absolutely love our wedding day photos too; they captured every detail! As we were getting ready for the wedding, Darrell gently kept me and my bridesmaids on time while making sure we had all the prep shots I had asked for. They were such a warm presence during our day, and they checked in with us through the night to ensure we had all the photos we wanted. Since the wedding, we've had several guests mention how nice our photographers were too. We couldn't be happier that we chose to hire them for our wedding! -

Quick turn around for engagement photos and fast with email responses. Day of wedding - I didn't even know they were there half of the time! My venue worked with them for the first time a couple of weeks before me and they were excited to have them back! Professional, professional, professional. They are seriously the coolest people. Emily Sent on 01/11/2014Darrell & Kristin were such a great team to work with! They traveled 5 hours for us since we live in Maryland but got married in our home state of West Virginia. We could have picked photographers from WV but we just couldn't pass up working with this husband & wife team who were so great to work with from day 1 (and their prices are great)! My husband and I were SO impressed with them and are so grateful that we found them to photograph our big day. We both heard lots of good comments about Darrell and Kristin from our friends and family and every time I looked around they were there - such troopers the entire day! Not once did I think "I wish the photographers were around to capture this" because they already were! As everyone told me, the day was an absolute blur of excitement so we are SO THANKFUL that they captured our day with such amazing pictures. I will recommend Darrell & Kristin to all my friends getting married - one has already decided to use them for their wedding and the engagement pictures she just received are beautiful! -

Sarah Sent on 11/30/2012I don't think that I will ever be able to truly describe the incredible services of Darrel McDavid Photography. Just like any other soon-to-be bride, I poured over tons of wedding magazines and online showcases of wedding photographs, trying to figure out how I wanted to remember my wedding day. I sat down with my fiance and we made a list of all the important things we wanted, special pictures, etc. Keep in mind, my now husband cannot stand getting his picture taken.
Darrell and Kristin sat down with us and discussed everything, down to the tiniest details, of our wedding day. They wanted to know everything and wanted us to be comfortable. My husband really liked their work, so I was happy they were able to take us on as clients.
First, we did our engagement session in March, 2012. Darrell and Kristin knew that we wanted to go someplace special (ideally a garden setting) and they did some research and helped us to find the perfect venue for our engagement photos. We ended up having a nearly two-hour session. The photos we have are absolutely stunning. My husband (again, one who doesn't like to have his picture taken) was really very pleased. We knew we had made the right choice for our photography needs on our special day.
In the weeks leading up to our wedding, my husband and I compiled a list (and a long list at that) of the photos we wanted. I partnered with my wedding venue's coordinator as to ideal locations and what photos we wanted. We decided to do a "First Look" in order to get more time for photos the day of the wedding (something I highly recommend - we never had to rush!).
The day of the wedding does go all too quickly, but Darrell and Kristin made sure that every single photo, every single special location at the venue, every detail was taken care of. They stayed with us the ENTIRE DAY!!! Ultimately, the photos we have are simply amazing and Darrell and Kristin are always the consummate professionals. -

Erika Sent on 10/27/2017We loved working with Darrell and his wife, Kristin. We originally contacted them for engagement photos and I needed them done ASAP because I wanted to use the corn as a backdrop before it was harvested. They were so accommodating and Darrell came out the same week I had contacted him. Unfortunately it poured down rain all day for our wedding. I was convinced the dreary day would not make for some fantastic photos. But, I was wrong! The photos are amazing and I love all the action/candid shots through out the evening. We also had our horses and dogs at the wedding. With the wind and rain the animals were a little less than cooperative. But, Darrell and Kristin helped us and still captured some great photos with them. I would highly recommend them!
