Amazing photographer with excellent quality pictures

Darbi was such an amazing photographer. She was recommended by our wedding planner and we could not have been happier with Darbi's personality and work. She did our engagement photos and wedding photos. She made the engagement photo process fun and easy. She captured gorgeous photos using nature and natural light.

Darbi did not hesitate to also step in and capture photos of our impromptu wedding (in addition to our formal wedding) that was organized quickly due to my mother's worsening health. Darbi captured pictures of our impromptu ceremony and gave us photos of my family and mother that I will cherish forever. Darbi captured my mother seeing me get married before she passed.

Darbi also hit it out of the park with our formal wedding pictures. I love how she uses nature and natural light to capture AMAZING images. She turned a small park into numerous photo opportunities.

I would recommend Darbi to anyone who wants lovely photos and an amazing photographer. I will definitely be using her for any big life events that I want captured forever.

We fell in love with Darbi immediately! Photography is Darbi's love and passion and you can see that when she works. She listened to what we wanted and was able to capture those moments in our photos. She is genuine and sincere. We have had her do our engagement, wedding, anniversary session.... and maybe one day... maternity ;)! There is a reason why we keep coming back to her time and time again.

Darbi is a WONDERFUL photographer!! She photographed us for engagement photos and our wedding in November of 2016. We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos and will cherish them forever.She was very responsive to all of my questions leading up to the wedding, and was great to work with throughout the planning process. She does a great job of capturing candid photos as well as formals and all of the photos turned out perfect and what we envisioned. Darbi G. is a seriously amazing photographer. We met her at a friends wedding and knew instantly she would be perfect for ours. You spend a lot of time with you photographer on your wedding day and you want to make sure you are with someone who is professional and personable at the same time. Darbi is that person. I promise you will have fun and feel so comfortable all day. The bride and groom are her #1 priority from the moment you book with her. She will make sure your timeline is set up and work with your other vendors to make sure things run flawlessly. She ends up being so much more than just your photographer. In the end you will have beautiful photos perfectly portraying your big day. I highly recommend her.

We looked at a lot of photographers when deciding who to book for our wedding. Pictures are really important to us, and I knew I wanted a certain look. As soon as I saw Darbi's website and her pictures -- I KNEW it had to be her. Darbi has been a breeze to work with. She is extremely quick to respond to email, and it didn't hurt that she had cookies at our first meeting. :) We received our engagement photos recently and they are stunning. We had to rearrange where we were taking our photos at the very last minute and Darbi was calm and suggested plenty of other beautiful locations. Everyone we've shown our pictures to has asked, "Is she taking the pictures at your wedding?" and when we say, "Yep!," they say, "Good! These are beautiful!" We cannot wait to have Darbi take our pictures on our wedding day!

Darbi is out of this world phenomenal! My husband and I were lucky enough to witness her greatness before our wedding as she was the Photographer for my sisters wedding. We knew right away that she was going to be the first vendor we booked when we got engaged... and that is what we did.

Anyone can look at Darbi's pictures and see how great she is. They truly speak for themselves. It's all the other things she does away from the camera that really makes Darbi one of a kind! She is with you through the whole planning process sending you helpful reminder emails and fun packages in the mail with useful gifts! She has a great personality that will have you laughing in no time. She is great about responding to any little question you might have and even has some great ideas she might throw your way that you didn't think about! She is committed to you 100% and as a Bride that is an amazing feeling!

I knew that choosing a photographer for my wedding was one of the most important parts of the planning process. While the wedding day itself goes by in the blink of an eye, the photographs last a lifetime. For that reason, I knew that I needed to find someone I trusted to capture those special moments for Nick and I. I met Darbi and had an instant connection with her and her style. I could tell she was really invested in the lives of the people she worked with. I trusted her and her vision. Without question, that day she delivered with thousands of images to choose from, modern shots as well as classics for all family members to enjoy. She was extremely patient with a rowdy wedding party and make sure to keep us on time. I was also very impressed to see the images come back to us so quickly. My husband and I couldn't say enough wonderful things about Darbi! You will love her, trust us! From the moment we first met her my husband and I knew she would take care of us and that everything would turn out perfect (and it did)! Darbi is the only photographer (probably in the history of my husbands life) who has successfully gotten him to take pictures that he enjoyed! From the moment he met Darbi my husband felt comfortable and loved working with her, which is really important because he was able to feel be natural for the pictures.His easiness with Darbi came across in our engagement pictures as well as our wedding pictures, which both turned out beautiful! I finally have pictures of the two of us together where we both look great! We enjoyed working with Darbi so much that she felt like part of our wedding group, and not just our photographer! We have our wedding pictures all over our house, our offices, and in the houses of family members. Communicating with Darbi was a breeze and she was always quick to respond to any and all questions that we had! Her turn around time for our pictures was impressive and all of the photos were so amazing! We loved all of the photographs so much we struggled to pick the ones that would make the album, as we wanted all of them to be included. Not only did our engagement photos and our wedding photos turn out beautifully, but Darbi became an essential part of our wedding day! She stayed back when necessary, but other times helped keep the flow of the day moving, as well as helped to keep me sane! A photographer the caliber of Darbi is worth EVERY CENT. I would hire her again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend her expertise and skills!

All throughout the wedding planning process, she was responsive and quick with communication. She had great tips she offered ahead of times to help us prepare for both the engagement session and our big day. We used Darbi for our wedding in October and it was great! The pictures were wonderful, I wanted to print pretty much every one. She makes sure you get all the shots you want and has great ideas for others.
Other than the pictures, I was very impressed with how easy it was to communicate. She was very quick in getting back to us and did not make us feel "annoying" or "dumb" for the 100 questions we would ask. Took a lot of stress out of that part of the planning! Would recommend her to anyone and plan on using in the future for any photography needs we may have!
Oh! And she also offers/sells very cool print ideas other than the typical canvas or paper.

I had seen Darbi's work before and there was no doubt in my mind she would be the photographer for our wedding. I was even sure to check with her first before we reserved our date, and I would have gladly rearranged if needed. If there was one detail I knew I didn't need to worry about for the wedding it was the photos. I knew they would come out amazing, but in the end they were even more than I expected. I can run back through the pictures and I immediately go back to that day and can feel the same emotions that she (and her wonderful assistant of the day, Ali) captured for us. Darbi is amazing at what she does, and you can tell she loves doing it. You CANNOT go wrong with her.

Darbi was so great to work with. She is very professional and her work is amazing! Behind the lens she is focused and determined to get the perfect shot, however, there is never any pressure to perform. She is so charming and she has this special gift that allows her to get people to open up, including my husband who has a "permascowl". She had him smiling in a matter of minutes! I was very impressed. Not only is she amazing at taking the pictures, but she is very fast at creating the finished product. She captured my day perfectly and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Darbi is hands-down the best wedding photographer anyone could ever ask for! She did both our engagement and wedding photos - she was always super responsive, organized, honest, and turn-around time for our photos was so fast. Having a stranger photograph you and your significant other can sometimes be an awkward situation, but Darbi is so outgoing, friendly, and makes you laugh, that we quickly loosened up and had a blast during our sessions. It is also such a huge plus that she is a woman (obviously) - sorry guys, but women have a much better sense of what makes you look good and is able to recognize when you have a hair hanging out where it shouldn't (plus, there is such a shortage of women photographers in KC, so nab Darbi as soon as you can!!). You definitely get what you pay for in professional photographers, but her prices were extremely reasonable for the high quality of images that we received. We were absolutely floored when we saw our photos - I have no regrets and plan on booking Darbi for future sessions/life events. HIGHLY recommend!!!

After carefully choosing Darbi G. Photography as our engagement and wedding photographer (as a bride interested in photography, this was one of the most important decisions to make for me), we could not have picked a more animated and talented photographer. Darbi makes it so easy to feel comfortable around her, and that's really important when finding a photographer since hours will be spent together.

The talent Darbi has behind the camera makes us so happy to document our most special days with her. Our engagement session was in 2011 and our wedding in 2012, and I STILL find myself reminiscing those days as I well up with happiness.

Darbi is very prompt with emails, and any questions the bride and groom to-be are quickly answered. Photos are added to the blog and flash drives arrive to your house even faster - major plus, since anticipation always gets the best of us.

It's hard to put a price on the memories of our special day, but Darbi's pricing is very friendly to all types of budgets.

After our engagement and wedding memories that Darbi so artfully and skillfully captured, I have no hesitation saying I will be contacting her for all upcoming life events.

We love Darbi both professionally and personally (because she just has that way with people) and anyone would be lucky to have her work for them! Hurry and book though, slots fill quickly and she only does one wedding a week.

My husband and I have never taken "real" pictures before our engagement shoot, so we had no idea what to expect or how to pose. Darbi was really easy to work with, told us what to do, and voila the pictures were beautiful. She is able to make you feel comfortable even when doing something so unnatural for you. Yes she is an investment- one we debated for a while- but at the end of it all, our pictures are the things we have left from the wedding, and we are so glad we chose Darbi to preserve our memories. We looked for a photographer for a long times, and there isn't anybody I found that came close in terms of quality and beauty.

Darbi first shot our engagement pictures back in October of 2011 and we instantly fell in love with them. So much so that we used her again for our wedding in Omaha in August of 2012. Let me tell you, she does her homework. Months before the wedding she begins to form a plan of action of how best to suit the needs of the bride and groom. She askes detailed questions about the up coming day and even gives you personal tips on things that one would almost never think of to do on the big day to ensure that the pictures turn out amazing.

The weather day of our wedding was very different from what it had been all summer long. It was the largest drought in 30+ years in parts of the Midwest but you wouldn't know it on my wedding day because it RAINED. IT RAINED ALL DAY LONG and wouldn't ya know it, it has not rain since. Anyway, Darbi and Cara (assistant photographer) did an amazing just right from the beggining. They split up and one shot my soon to husband and Darbi stayed with me and the girls. All the while they were like my little wedding planners in a way. Coodinating with one another the entire day making sure that we were where we needed to be at specific times. I was pretty layed back the day of my wedding so I really enjoyed having the two girls to guide me and I took advantage of them and let them steer me and my husband in the right direction so that Darbi and Cara could capture the best shots.

I was later told that this was the first outdoor wedding shoot she had done in the rain. You would never had known. They came totally prepared and kept a group of 18 of the wedding party on point and completely together. IN THE POURING RAIN! It was slightly stressful for me to say the least. I was worried about my now frizzy and soaked hair, my dress getting dirty, and makeup running. Overall just annoyed with the weather. Darbi and Cara could sense this and were super kind and understanding and coached through it. Love Darbi!

Everyone's advice to me when I was wedding planning repeated the same thing over and over. Spend money on a good photographer because the photos will last a lifetime and you want them to be good. I'm so happy I listened to their advice! I recently received all of our wedding photos and I literally CANNOT stop looking at them! I'm not sure how to choose which ones to print and frame! Darbi not only produced photos that I know I will treasure for a lifetime, but she also was fun, organized, professional, etc etc. She helped make sure the day went smoothly. I got compliments about her from my wedding party and family both during and after the wedding! I couldn't have been more pleased! I would (and do!) recommend her to any of my friends getting married in the Kansas City area!!

There are not enough words to describe how incredibly happy, satisfied, and thankful we are to have had Darbi G as our engagement and wedding photographer. She is incredibly friendly and patient, making even the most photo-shy people comfortable. She really listens to your ideas and springboards from the love you and your partner share to create the most heartfelt and fun images. She is also FAST! We had previews and final photos within a couple of weeks! My family also loved having her around (my grandma even friended her on Facebook :) ), she was and is just a genuinely wonderful person and photographer. The images of our wedding were simply fabulous, and I can't wait to book her again for future family photo sessions :)

I loved Darbi. She took my husband's and my engagement pics and wedding pics. I have yet to get the wedding pics as we were just married this past weekend, but the "teasers" she gave me are good, and I know more are to come, and fast. I noticed though her fb posts she has a schedule she keeps with each wedding she does - takes pics, gives teasers, writes a blog with pics, emails pics to us with a link and it is really fast too. The engagement pics were great as well and I think we had the link to the full set within 2 weeks, along with the cd of our images. Darbi is also SUPER responsive and loves what she does which makes the job she does better for those using her for this service, whereas someone who doesn't like their job, wouldn't do as good. Responsiveness is important to me and I'd say I had a response to any questions or emails I sent her within hours, at most a day, and if I didn't get an in depth response, it would be a quick email to say she was busy with shoots the next 2 days, and out of town but would get back to me the next week and she would. She was also really helpful with ideas, willing to share how to do things, guidelines, and how weddings flow since I had never been through this process. I plan to have her do baby pics, once we get one of those. She is awesome, friendly and talented!!!

Darbi is AMAZING. She is a wonderful person to work with and an incredibly talented photographer. My husband and I met with a few photographers before meeting with Darbi, and all fell short in some way or another. Darbi saw OUR vision and applied HER knowledge. It was easy to tell her what we wanted and expected. She helped us create a day that gave her the ability to capture moments I wouldn't have trusted with anyone else. Shortly after we saw our engagement photos, I knew Darbi would be our photographer (and friend) well into the future. Darbi ROCKED it (even in our wedding day rain). Simply put, choosing DGP was one of the best wedding choices we made.

Throughout this whole crazy wedding-planning process, I never once, even for a second, doubted our decision to have Darbi G. capture our Big Day. She captured not only the beauty of the day, but also the emotion of it, and the personalities of Aaron and me, both separately and as a couple—a true testament to her incredible talent.

Besides the gorgeous images, the words in her blog post about us brought me to tears. The fact that she was so invested in us, and everything about our wedding, really shines through.

Clearly this review is not doing how much we love her and her work justice, but just know that we couldn’t be happier with our pictures. Not to mention, it was SO FREAKING FUN to have her at our wedding. We really feel like we have both a photographer, and more importantly, a friend for life.

If you're the kind of person who wants to get wedding photographs that don't end up shoved away in a dusty box of albums, there's no doubt that Darbi is your girl.

I had always been a person who never felt like I was photogenic, until being photographed by Darbi. Her photography produces not just pictures, but works of art from real life. From the moments of getting ready to the cutting of the cake, Darbi consistently captured the spirit of the day. Darbi is truly a rare find in the Mid-Missouri area for her extraordinary talent. I would (and do!) recommend her to everyone I know.

And when you hire Darbi as your photographer, you're also getting a professional in every sense of the word: an engaging comedian and a vivacious, sparkling personality — someone your whole family will feel comfortable around.

Perhaps the only drawback to having Darbi as your photographer is the problem of choosing which of your beautiful pictures to NOT include in your album!

When starting to plan our wedding, we knew that the photography was the most important thing to us. We wanted to look back in 20 years and be able to remember the things we may have forgotten. Darbi had recently photographed one of our friends weddings and we absolutely loved the pictures. We contacted her and fell in love with her even more. She was so caring and wanted to make sure everything would be perfect for us...and it was. She was always there to answer questions within a day if not hours. We were so nervous to have our engagement pictures taken but she worked her magic. We could not believe how amazing they turned out. By this point we knew the wedding pictures would be just as perfect. After waiting nine years to get married, these photos truly captured our love and excitement. We could not have asked for more from Darbi and can't wait to have a family so we can work with her again.

Wow, Darbi definitely goes out of the way to make sure you get unique and one of a kind pictures. If you get tight int eh pictures she will make sure to crack a silly joke and before too long you will forget shes there. You can tell she truly enjoys shooting couples on these momentous days and shes having a blast doing so. My only complaint is we got too many beautiful photos and not enough picture frames and albums for them! (Seriously!)

We knew we wanted a photographer who could put a new perspective on wedding photos. We did not want the traditional posed picture but more "in the moment" pictures to really capture our special day. Darbi G could not have done a more perfect job. They are by far the best pictures I have seen and we have received so many compliments. If you are looking for the perfect photographer, you have found her. Darbi did our engagement session and wedding. We were left with unique and beautiful pictures to help us remember every moment. My husband and I were looking for a photographer who has a fresh perspective and one who would avoid the common line, "stand here and say cheese." Darbi gets how important weddings (and all of the little details) are, and we never once felt like "just another client." She took the time and effort to get to know us as a couple, and we felt very comfortable around her. As a result, not one of our pictures turned out stiff or awkward! Unfortunately for me, Darbi was not yet doing professional photography at the time of my wedding, so I didn't get to have her capture my wedding day. However, I was lucky enough to call on her when I was ready to get down and dirty in my white gown! The Extreme Bridal session was more fun than I could have imagined. It's a scary thought to "trash your dress." You inevitably have those doubts of, "will this be worth it?" Trust me when I say this... you will NOT be disappointed. Believe it or not, I had SO much fun sitting around in junkyards and on construction equipment! And truth be told.... I was still able to have my dress professionally cleaned. (Note: don't get your dress cleaned post-wedding... wait until after you trash it!) After showing off my the Extreme Bridal pictures, I was repeatedly told, "Oh.. you should be a model!" I've never thought of myself as the prettiest girl, but Darbi has a way of making you feel beautiful. I will have these pictures for the rest of my life and will forever be able to look at them and remember feeling young and sexy. Thank you, Darbi, for yet another amazing memory made. Darbi was great! She was really professional, we got great pictures, she is creative, and everything was done well before I thought it would be. There are cheaper photographers out there, but it was worth it to me to pay a little extra to get the great shots, the extra time, the print credit, etc. I have recommended her to people and I will continue to do so!

Darbi first shot our wedding in 2011 and has since done a family shoot- something we plan to make a yearly tradition.
I fell in love with Darbi's portfolio on-line, but meeting her in person for our consult sealed the deal. She is one of the most caring and sweetest ladies I have done business with and she has gone above and beyond what I could expect from our photographer; so much so that I consider her a friend.
Darbi is worth every penny as I receive compliments on our pictures every time someone comes into our home. It is with pride and 100% certainty that I recommend her services. The lighting, composition, ability to get us to be ourselves in front of the camera and knack for capturing life's "real" moments has given us the most beautiful pictures I could ask for.
