Amazing from beginning to end
Danyelle was incredible since day 1. I found Danyelle on Instagram. She was the only vendor that I found on my own without using the help of our venue’s recommendation list. Her photos were what caught my eye first, they are bright, airy, and romantic. My phone consultation with her was the best one I had. She was the first photographer I spoke to over the phone and pretty much set the standard for all my consultations thereafter, which I found no one else is as detailed oriented, friendly, and professional as her. After hiring her, she continues to impress me. We did our engagement shot several months after the call and the photos came out just beautiful. Danyelle was great at putting me and my husband at ease with photos, since this is our first time taking professional photos. We also had our dogs with us during the shoot. My dog were a mess, but Danyelle was kind and patient. At last, our wedding. Danyelle was there on time with her second shooter and just did an amazing job. I think it’s important to mention that Danyelle had a family emergency at the night of my wedding, but she still stuck it out and stayed as late as she could. When we got our wedding gallery back, we were speechless. The photos are just beyond my imagination and we are getting strangers on FB asking us who was our photographer. I cannot recommend Danyelle enough! Her work and professionalism speaks for itself. -

Amazing to work with
We had the most amazing experience with Danyelle as our photographer for our small wedding. Danyelle is incredibly organized and has amazing artistic vision. She is fun to work with and made us feel totally comfortable when posing. She got all the shots I wanted and more. I will be using her again for photography needs in the future and I highly recommend her. -

We could not have had a better experience working with Danyelle on our wedding day this last June! She did such a beautiful job capturing every aspect of the big day, from the tiny details to the important moments that I’ll forever get to look back on. Her and her husband make a great team and were so enjoyable to work with. And Danyelle was so composed and organized throughout the chaos of the day. I mean, she was even able to wrangle 40 of my husband’s family members into one picture in less than two minutes.
The day after the wedding, Danyelle surprised us with a few gorgeous sneak peak photos and I must have looked at them about 100 times that day. We anxiously waited about 6 weeks to get our wedding album back, and let me tell you it was well worth the wait. It’s easy to see that Danyelle is passionate about her work and goes above and beyond to make sure every photo she produces tells a story. I’m beyond grateful to her for capturing every moment of the most perfect day of our lives. She’s definitely not just another photographer, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone wanting to perfectly capture a special day.

I can not even put into words how wonderful working with Danyelle Dee Photography has been. She has done both my husband and my engagement shoot and wedding. She is so easy going and really knows how to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. She was always there to give us advice during our wedding planning and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted. The quality of work also stands true to the quality being she is.
Now to the quality of our images for our engagement shoot we drove to Santa Cruz and met up with Danyelle at a few locations, I had a very specific idea of what I wanted and man did she deliver. We had so much fun that even after our shoot we grabbed a late lunch at a little cafe near by. They are still some of my favorite photos to this day and she really knows how to capture candid moments as well as pose us without it looking awkward. Our wedding was no exception. She was on it, she gave me a timeline that I honored and the day could not have gone smoother! The images are beautiful and all the moments in between make it even sweeter! We are already planning our one year anniversary shoot with her in Yosemite where my husband proposed! I can’t even wait to see those ones!

Taking photos can be intimidating and feel awkward especially if it's not something you're used to doing. She made it fun and relaxing and was able to really read our mood and vibe. Her direction was excellent and made it much easier for us to loosen up and get into a groove. More than anything, we had FUN. We both were grinning the whole time it was almost impossible to look serious. Would highly recommend working with her.

Not to mention, she is super talented artistically and has a great eye. She's amazing at framing the perfect shot, posing couples, and getting the light just right. We gots TONS of beautiful photos from our engagement session that we used for our invitations, guestbook, and decor. A fews months before the wedding, she created a day of timeline to keep us on track. She photographed every last detail of our wedding and reception perfectly and with care. I cannot stop staring at our photos! She captured so many special moments, both candid and posed. I'm so happy we have these photos to remember our wedding day by! Danyelle's services are absolutely worth the investment! I would not hesitate to hire her again!

From the start, I connected with Danyelle. I met her at a bridal fair and soon after called her and even over the phone she answered any question I had and had every answer. I especially loved how she also focuses on the groom as well and makes sure he is comfortable throughout the process as well. I booked her after that phone session.
Our first set of photos with her was for our engagement Shoot. They turned out AMAZING. My husband actually said he had fun taking these pictures. They were absolutely beautiful and she made the whole process so easy and comfortable.
We were in constant contact right up until the wedding and she was always reaching out to check in. Danyelle and her fabulous second shooter did an amazing job for our Wedding! It rained that day, so a lot of photos turned into Plan B for certain shots, but even still she made sure once the rain cleared for a moment, we got a few of the outside shots we were really hoping for!
Getting our photos back, they were STUNNING! The color, the details, perfection!
I would recommend Danyelle Dee Photography to anyone and everyone!!!

Christina Sent on 01/19/2018Simply put, Danyelle is amazing! Three things stood out to me as we worked with her for our wedding. First, she puts you at ease. Her calm and friendly personality allows you to be yourself in front of the camera and lead you along the way if you are having trouble relaxing. Second, her style! I mean, look at her work! You will not be receiving any cheesy, super-posed, and uncomfortable shots with her. She is going to capture the connection and love between you and your spouse. Third, the pricing. For what she does and how she does it, and what you pay, you are getting a steal! Seriously though, she is flexible, responsive, professional, accommodating, and overall a pleasure to work with. You will not be disappointed.

She was open to our ideas about photo ops and provided plenty of beautiful poses that looked beautiful in the final prints. She was very responsive (an amazing feat considering she was planning HER OWN WEDDING during our engagement shoot and HAD HER OWN WEDDING ONLY 2 WEEKS after shooting ours!!!) I don't know how this girl pulled it off but she did so with grace and professionalism. -

Timothy Sent on 06/27/2019Unable to provide service as advertised, insulting, dismissive, and unprofessional
We reached out to Danyelle in March 2018 to shoot our wedding in April 2019. She was very warm, open and accommodating when we spoke with her. Unfortunately, we have had a horrible experience since we received our photos a few weeks ago. It’s been devastating and her attitude and statements towards us have been cold, rude and she is refusing to accept culpability in anything and instead has offered excuses that do not hold up. Her responses to every issue brought up are dismissive and state that she is an artist and per her contract she doesn’t have to do anything to make this right. Since the wedding she responds selectively to emails and has refused to take any of my phone calls or call me back despite me specifically asking for a return call. Given the issues with her service and her inability to address them in a professional manner, I cannot warn you enough to stay away. At best she is unprofessional, unable to balance her artistry with providing a business service she contracted to provide. At worst she is a scam artist who will insult you and demand additional payment for the original service as she advertised. I’ve detailed the issues below.
We did meet her in person before we signed a contract and gave her our money. She was new and building her business so she didn’t have a lot of weddings to show us but she did have two posted on her website that were at our venue. We thought they were beautiful and when we met with her we discussed those two wedding shoots, what we loved about them and she seemed very capable of providing similar images for our wedding. They are minimally edited and reflect the venue and chapel as it is naturally. Again, these images we discussed with her were at our same venue so despite her being new, we were confident we would get photos of our wedding that we would like. When we received our images, they were completely white washed, overexposed, the chapel does not look like it has brown walls and the images in the chapel have a pink hue. I want to be clear this is not a slight difference in ‘style’. When we reached out to her to address the difference in style she responded with “I understand you are not happy with how the images are edited. As an artist, I do not change my style for any reason. This is why clients hire me. They hire me because of my editing style, skill, and service. I am going to be honest with you, if you did not like my editing style, you should have hired another photographer. This is something I feel very strongly about, and is something that is a big issue within this industry. Asking a Photographer to change their editing style is a huge insult.” She then continued to say we could pay her an additional $3,000 to get the images that she originally advertised and sold to us. After a week of me calling and emailing her explaining the drastic difference in style and attaching photos from her website to compare to ours with no communication from her, she admitted through email “The images you sent over that were also mine for a comparison were from 2-3 years ago. My editing style is constantly evolving”. This statement clearly is at odds with her original comment on style being why couples choose her. It’s also an admission that the photos we received are not in the same style she advertised. Those photos from her website were 6 months to one year old when we signed her contract. We could not have expected that her style would change so much by our wedding a year later. She re-edited 17 of the images but they are still very different than advertised, white washed and she has refused to re-edit the rest. She reiterated that we are welcome to pay her $3000 to get the images as she advertised. This is devastating for me.
The photography package we selected included a second photographer. Danyelle sold us on this as the second shooter could capture more candid photos for us (something that I included we wanted in my initial email to her and was discussed in our in-person meeting) and would be able to capture the groom and groomsmen getting ready while Danyelle was with the bridal party. There are very few candid shots from the wedding and what there is we needed to beg her to send. The groomsmen were getting ready with the second shooter with them for over an hour. From that time she provided 13 edited photos, all in black and white, and five of which are slightly different images of my husband tying his shoe. My husband is so upset over this. There are also only a handful of images of our guests from the cocktail hour and ceremony. When we brought up the lack of candid shots and photos from the groomsmen she said that she was confused why we were upset and stated “My sole focus during the ceremony is to capture the bride and groom, if I spend too much time wandering around the ceremony site capturing guests I would miss important things at the alter.” I completely agree with her statement that she focus on the bride and groom, that’s why we wanted and paid for the second shooter. She was aware from our first contact that candid photos were important to us. She never once said that she wouldn’t be able to provide them. Regarding the boys getting ready she said “I pulled the usable images to add to the gallery, and the black and white is a choice made by me due to lighting inconsistencies.” Based on the lack of images that Danyelle is comfortable releasing because of their quality, the second shooter she provided seems to be completely incapable and unable to meet Danyelle’s standards for a professional photo. I do not believe that the person she had act as a second shooter was a professional photographer. If Danyelle was not going to use those photos because they weren’t up to her standards she should not have advertised this service and not charged us for this. She advertised and sold us on a professional shooter which she clearly did not provide.
We do have one very nice photo that I’m sure the second shooter took because it’s of Danyelle blocking me and my husband. Danyelle fully edited this image and uploaded it for us to see and use though I’m baffled as to what she thought we would want it for. It’s attached here. This makes me think that she didn’t look at each individual photo but instead took a group of photos and edited them with a preset filter and uploaded them.
She was not good at providing direction. We had one very large family photo that we asked her to take on the day of. The first image she sent to us had three people completely cut out and you could just see the corner hem of the flower girl’s dress. We asked her for the full photo and she told us she didn’t have a photo with all of everyone included. She said it was our fault for not telling her we wanted a photo of such a large group before hand and she didn’t bring the correct wide lense. A professional photographer would have offered more direction on the day of and told people to stand closer together. She did provide the same photo but without it being edited and cropped. People are still cut off but at least everyone’s face is in it. The second photo she provided is uploaded here and you can see that only a little direction from her would have made all the difference as there are several people that could move closer together. We would have been better to have a friend take the photo on one of our phones. There is only one photo of the entire bridal party together. It has a giant propane tank in the background. She should have told us to move closer together, to move to another location (a dozen beautiful locations at our venue), or taken the shot from a different angle. Instead she didn’t say anything, and when we asked if she could remove it she said we would need to pay her more money.
There were several photos that had very obvious red eye issues. When we asked Danyelle to fix it she said that there was an additional charge to remove red eye. Of course she wants more money. Her contract does state the images will be “fully edited” which you would think would include red eye, but she says it does not. It is something that I could easily fix myself in just a few minutes but, keep in mind her contract also states that you are not allowed to edit the photos yourself. She did remove the red eye in one image for us at ‘no cost’ and acted like she was doing us a great favor. There are still several others with red eye.
There is one photo that we flagged her down during the reception to take. It’s of me, my husband, and my husband’s uncle who is dying of cancer. We don’t live in the same area and this is likely the last photo of us together. She refused to provide it to us because it didn’t meet her standards. We flat out begged her for it but she would not provide it until I contacted our wedding coordinator who sends Danyelle a lot of business (including ours).This was an unnecessary stress and having received the photo, the lighting is off and slightly blurry but it is beautiful and so important to us.
After several phone messages and emails asking her to call me back, as well as reaching out to our wedding coordinator to see if she could get Danyelle to just respond to us, she did email stating she was going to send us the full unedited images but she said not to use them on social media. That’s ridiculous, it’s our wedding and we wanted photos to share with family and friends on social media. She did send them and there are some more memories for us to cherish. I now have to pay for professional editing or spend time learning how to edit our images so we have what she originally advertised. Before the wedding she knew exactly what we wanted and she told us she could provide it. Given everything that she has told us since the wedding regarding her being an artist and being unable to provide what she advertised, I do not think she should have provided us with a contract to sign.
Her refusal to speak over the phone is extremely frustrating and her comments to me through email are horribly insulting.
