We couldn’t be happier with our experience! Daniel listened closely to what we wanted, understood the vibe we were going for, and absolutely nailed it. The photos turned out better than we imagined — natural, thoughtful, and full of personality. He made us feel completely comfortable and like our real selves throughout the entire day, which shows in every shot. Daniel even stayed an extra hour when we asked last minute, which we appreciated to catch a last minute roller skating portion of the reception! Truly fantastic to work with from start to finish. Working with Daniel was the best! He is exceptional at his craft and such a pleasure to be around! His photos speak for themself; they are truly works of art. Looking through our gallery, every photograph perfectly encapsulates the essence of our wedding and our personalities. This is such a gift because we feel like we’re there, in the moment, surrounded by all of our favorite people, on the rainiest day in August. He captured everything from sweet, small moments to big moments with ease and stealth when needed. During our final pre-wedding check-in, I asked Daniel if he’d be open to shooting a roll of film, and he didn’t hesitate! We are so grateful he was on board because those film shots have become some of our absolute favorites.
Daniel was a great communicator throughout and notably calm, attentive, and flexible when plans continued shifting due to weather. He put us at ease as two non-natural people in front of a camera! We couldn’t have picked a more perfect fit of a wedding photographer if we tried! We can’t express enough thanks! -

Great photographer!
Working with Daniel was so wonderful! He was super responsive and really got our vision. We had a gay interracial wedding with a lot of moving parts and Daniel captured all of the moments we were hoping for. He also has a very calming presence which made taking pictures a fun experience. -

Review for Daniel Schechner
Daniel Schechner is an exceptional creative talent whose work transcends the conventional approach to wedding photography. He doesn't simply document the day—he frames each moment with an artist's eye, creating images that feel alive with emotion and energy.
Initially, we weren't planning to hire a wedding photographer. But as the day drew closer, we began second-guessing that decision. Thankfully, a dear friend stepped in, found Daniel, and shared his portfolio with us after confirming his availability (we have amazing friends!). We knew he was the perfect choice when we saw his work.
Whereas wedding photographers can sometimes feel intrusive, Daniel was practically invisible. And yet, every significant moment was captured. His ability to blend seamlessly into the background while still creating breathtaking images is remarkable.

Professional, laidback artist and photographer
My goal when I set out to find a wedding photographer was to find someone who would be able to beautifully capture me and my fiance as our natural selves and regardless of the weather (ie even great photos if it rained). Daniel's calming, laidback, and professional nature allowed us to experience the joy of the day without any added stress or management. Especially for my fiance who isnt a huge fan of photos being taken of him, Daniel's presence was very welcome (the last thing we needed for the day was to have someone with a camera fussing over us and bossing us around!) The photos we got were beautiful: bright, happy, rustic, and natural. Daniel did a great job capturing our vision for our wedding day! He was able to shoot all aspects of the day and genuine emotion from our friends and family. When we were running behind schedule he was flexible and found other things that he could photograph while he was waiting for the bridal party. He worked in fantastic conjunction with our venue and other vendors (especially our videographer).
We really appreciated that he was always smiling and was genuinely excited to be there and to be working with us. It made us feel a lot more comfortable and that is reflected in the images he captured.

Original, flexible, unobtrusive - magical!
We had a fantastic time working with Daniel to capture our wedding weekend in rural VT. He captured those precious in-between moments that will bring back very specific emotions for years to come thanks to his unique eye. Of course he was great with the typical family shots, but the uniqueness of his lens really sets him apart. Daniel is incredibly flexible and he doesn't want to get in the way of your day. We had planned a small, last-minute ceremony and with only a few weeks' notice, Daniel was able to accommodate us. He fit right in to our small group and captured fantastic candid and posed portraits. He sent sneak peaks just a few days after, and then final edits less than a month after the ceremony. The photos are all incredibly intimate, crisp, lively, and precious. I would recommend him without reservation! -

We were looking for a photographer who would beautifully capture the spirit of our wedding day without a lot of posed photos. Daniel's portfolio immediately caught our attention, and in the end we are so glad that we hired him. Neither I nor my husband are particularly comfortable in front of a camera, so we opted to do an engagement shoot with Daniel ahead of our wedding; he made two camera-shy people feel immediately comfortable and at ease, and was so flexible and helpful when our initial shoot location didn't work out due to inclement weather. At our wedding, Daniel was a friendly and unobtrusive presence. He moved around the venue to make sure every moment was captured, grabbed the right people at the right time for our shot list, and never made us feel like there was a camera in anyone's face throughout the night. After both the engagement shoot and the wedding, he very thoughtfully sent us a handful of quickly-edited (but still incredible) photos so we could have a preview to get excited about. We just received all our photos and are blown away: he captured the wedding exactly the way we wanted him to, perfectly and beautifully evoking the spirit of the day. We are so grateful that we got to work with Daniel and would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat! -

Wonderful and Candid
Daniel was amazing! His work is so warm and real, it makes me and my loved ones relive the the big day all over again!
The colours are so visually beautiful. Simple, elegant, and high quality photos.
He took so many pictures, candid and posed. He had a very extensive questionnaire to help him and us figure out everything we wanted to capture and what kind of atmosphere it was going to be.
It took around a little less than 2 months to get our photos back which is normal.
He came dressed accordingly and was very sweet the whole day.
I didn't notice any cosmetic touch ups on my photos, so that could be a pro or con to different people. But having them not 'altered' makes it look and feel so much more organic. And I can fix a few blemishes on my own, lol.
I am very glad I chose Daniel, and I would choose him again! -

Daniel is an extremely talented photographer. He is also very professional and made everyone feel at ease during the most intimate moments. Daniel was our top choice, we couldn't imagine anyone else capturing our big day. I'm a professional photographer, I even do weddings, so selecting the right artist came down to many little details and personality was huge for us. Daniel was kind and considerate to our needs but more impressively the needs of our guests were of equal importance to him. He was able to juggle our huge wedding party and create a warm and candid collection of day's the best moments.
I think his work speaks for itself. He has range and is able to adjust on the fly depending on your taste. My wife and I had fun with the portrait session before the reception and he quickly picked up on our taste as we shot and found the right positions. Daniel legitimately cares about telling your story, a quality lacking in most event photographers trying to make fast cash. We felt taken care of from start to finish.
His collection was delivered within a reasonable timeframe with accurate expectations set in advance. All of our family adored the photos and felt well captured. We had a dozen or more guests praising our photographer for his friendly vibes and overall welcoming presence. When you invite a photographer into such an emotional and special event, they should feel like an extension of family, or an old friend. Daniel manages to insert himself into new crowds and make friends right away. We met Daniel when our original photographer had to back out. She introduced us to him and he very graciously, three months before the wedding, offered to do the job. We were very excited to work with Daniel because his portfolio had the style of photography we were looking for. We wanted a photographer with an artistic eye and who could take candid pictures that told a story of the day, as opposed to standard, posed photos. After we received the pictures, numerous family members and friends gushed over how much laughter and personality was captured, which is why we can't stop looking at them! He has a great eye. He also took a LOT of pictures and was very flexible with whatever we asked of him. We would definitely recommend him to others, especially if they're looking for a photographer with an artist's eye and flare.
