Dana was an absolute joy to work with!
She recently did hair and makeup for me (the bride), my mom, and maid of honor, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Dana was warm, professional, and incredibly communicative leading up to the big day. I absolutely loved how everything turned out during my hair and makeup trial, and she somehow made it even better on the wedding day.
She made each of us feel so comfortable and truly brought out our natural beauty. I felt the most beautiful I’ve ever felt thanks to Dana’s talent and care, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’m so glad we chose her! -

After scouring Instagram for someone who’s hair and makeup style matched our simple yet elegant aesthetic, we booked Dana for our June 2023 wedding. Dana did hair and makeup for both of us (two brides) as well as hair for my wife’s mother. Dana particularly excelled at listening to our visions and bringing them to life. During our trials (which we do recommend), we brought in pictures of hairstyles for inspiration, and Dana was able to easily recreate them knowing how exactly to work with our individual hair texture and style. Also, neither of us wear much makeup (I don’t wear any), and Dana was able to achieve the “natural” or “soft-glam” look very well, which was what we both wanted. We felt that most other makeup artists we looked at went too far even with the “soft-glam” style.
Dana was perhaps the most organized of all the vendors we worked with for our wedding. During each of our trials, she took incredibly detailed notes, brought them with her the day of our wedding, and followed them exactly. While it’s impossible to recreate your trial look 100% perfectly, what Dana did was closer than we ever expected. In addition, she helped us craft the perfect getting ready schedule for the morning of our wedding, and stuck to it, so we didn’t feel stressed or rushed and actually enjoyed the process! While we were a small “bridal party” and worked with only Dana herself, something Dana mentioned is that she never brings in other hair or makeup artists unless she trusts them and their work completely. That instilled confidence in us that her quality standard was really high, and her performance confirmed that. Her confidence made us confident!
Our hair and makeup looked almost perfect at the end of the day after an outdoor ceremony in the wind and 4+ hours of running around and dancing. We were super impressed. We have absolutely no reservations in recommending Dana for your wedding day. Make sure you follow her instructions on how to prep your face/hair and design the getting ready schedule for your wedding and you’ll have a great time! -

Dana is the best!
I am sooooo happy I chose Dana to do my hair and makeup for my wedding day! She is so professional and amazing at what she does! I loved my hair so so much. And my makeup was perfect!!! Exactly what I wanted - she made me look beautiful and glowy but still natural. Every single one of my bridesmaids also LOVED their hair and makeup. She is that good!!! Thank you Dana!!! -

Dana was an absolute delight to work with. I first met her at a hair and makeup trial in her studio. She was thoughtful and considerate of my ideas and inspiration photos and executed my vision to the best of her abilities. On my wedding day, she and her team were able to accommodate myself, four bridesmaids and the mother of the bride for full hair and makeup. Before the big day Dana provided a schedule for the bridesmaids so there was no stress the morning of so everyone knew exactly when and where they were supposed to be. Getting ready was stress free and we were all able to just enjoy each other’s company.
My wedding hair and makeup was beyond perfection! Everything lasted for the entire day for about 12 hours. Her work looked beautiful in our photos. She knows exactly how to make your true beauty shine!

A wonderful professional!
Dana was able to capture my vision for my hair on my wedding day both in our trial and on the day of. She was kind and flexible and she worked very well with my makeup artist and scheduled everything perfectly. She’s quick, but diligent in what she does. I would recommend her to anyone for an updo! Thank you Dana for making me feel beautiful with my hair up, when I normally never do. -

Dana is so talented and such a pleasure to work with. She is very attentive and knowledgeable. I first met Dana when I hired her to do my hair and makeup for my bridal shower. I got so many compliments! I also hired her for my wedding day and I was so incredibly happy with how my hair and makeup turned out! The only touch up needed was for my lips. Everything else looked just as good at 11pm as it did at 11am! My bridesmaids were also very happy with their services and they looked gorgeous! Would highly recommend her services! -

Amazing experience
I reached out to Dana and heard back from her so promptly. She listened to what I was hoping for for my hair and makeup and was able to create a natural look PERFECTLY. I had a particularly early start time required by my photographer and she agreed to that schedule without batting an eye. She also provided hair and makeup for my bridesmaids, and was even willing to accommodate the last minute addition of my mom. Everyone looked and felt beautiful all day! I got so many compliments throughout the day and many people asked who had done my makeup since it was done so beautifully. Dana is the absolute sweetest and such a joy to work with. She and her assistant Sarah arrived on time and finished a little ahead of schedule. Her communication throughout the process was clear and quick. I cannot recommend her enough for your day! -

Highly Recommend!
Dana was absolutely wonderful to work with for my bridal hair. She is extremely responsive and reasonably priced. Not to mention her work is absolutely gorgeous! For my bridal trial, she did an updo and put in a hair accessory so I could decide if I wanted one for the wedding day. Prior to the wedding, Dana sent over helpful tips and tricks to keep in mind to make sure my hair (and the bridesmaids hair) was in the best condition to be styled. She was very prompt on the day of our wedding, which helped keep our schedule running smoothly. I ended up changing my desired hairstyle the day before my wedding and Dana was super flexible about it. She explained the pros/cons of the new hairstyle I wanted. We ended up going with something in between and it came out perfect! I cannot say enough great things about Dana and highly recommend her for future brides! -

Dana was amazing to work with! She made me look and feel so beautiful. I am one who doesn't ever wear makeup and I wanted to look natural. Dana did just that for me. I didn't feel like I had a ton of makeup on to look fake or anything. She also did an amazing job on my hair! It stayed in the entire night. I had extensions put it and I'm so glad she convinced me to get them. Made my bun look so much fuller! All the girls loved their hair and we got so many compliments! I will always recommend Dana Joy to future brides or anyone needed an updo! -

Can I Give More Than 5 Stars?!
Once I saw Dana’s Instagram pictures, I knew I wanted her for my wedding. Her work is even more incredible in person! Dana was a fantastic communicator and went above and beyond to create a schedule for hair and my MUA to help the day run smoothly. She did myself and 12 others and finished ahead of schedule. Everyone looked absolutely INCREDIBLE, was thrilled with the results, and my hair held up perfectly for the entire night. Additionally, Dana is so sweet, calm, genuine, and not to mention TALENTED! I can’t recommend her enough! -

Amazing job!!
Dana nailed my hair and makeup for my wedding day!! I had 2 criteria: 1) I wanted to look like an enhanced version of myself (I don’t typically wear much makeup) and 2) I wanted my look to match the setting (a Victorian era inn). I was super particular about my hair especially - I wanted the right amount of curl without it shortening my hair too much. It came out perfectly and held up all night!! She did my mom and sisters makeup as well - neither of which came with any inspiration photos - and they loved their looks too! Dana was fun to work with and patient with all my requests. I would definitely recommend her and use her again! -

Dana was truly a dream to work with on my wedding day! She did myself, 6 bridesmaids, mother of the bride & mother of the groom all by herself and did a phenomenal job with every single person. I had a second stylist drop out at the very last minute and Dana immediately stepped up and was able to fit everyone into her schedule. Her flexibility with a week to go until the wedding was so appreciated. Dana is so talented in what she can do with hair and she was a lovely person to work with! I cannot recommend her enough. -

Amazing experience, highly recommend!
My bridal party and I had the pleasure of getting our hair done for my wedding. Not only is she efficient but she catered to everyone’s desired hair style and hair type. From a classy sleek bun for my bridal look, to my bridesmaids fishtail, she does it all! She was willing to adjust anyones look accordingly and was very organized with the timeline of the day. Super responsive up until my big day too. She did two hair trials for me before the wedding day and didn’t hesitate to make last minute adjustments to the hair style I want, even added in some beautiful baby’s breath for me and a few bridesmaids. Very affordable for the high quality of her work! Would highly recommend her! Thanks Dana! -

Dana was absolutely amazing to work with from beginning to end. She did my hair for my wedding day along with 4 other women. Every persons hair looked stunning and different from one another. Dana was an absolute angel the morning of my wedding. As you can imagine, I was feeling all sorts of ways that morning, I had not booked myself or bridesmaids a trial and wasn't 100% set on what we wanted, but Dana was able to use our inspo photos to create stunning hairstyles for all of us. She was friendly and professional and her confidence kept me very calm! She knew what she was doing and although I had not met her in person previously, I trusted her completely. She was very efficient with booking and day of plans, offering her advice and professional opinions throughout. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be using her in the the future! -

I used Dana for my wedding and she did hair for 6 women and make up for 1. Dana was so friendly and flexible throughout the process. She was calm and relaxed and did a great job of creating different looks for each of us. She helped me figure out the best way to use my hairpiece and veil and showed my bridesmaids how to take the veil on and off for me. We had an outdoor wedding and reception and our hair stayed in place for the 12+ hour long day. I highly recommend Dana. -

Dana was amazing ! She did hair for myself, my seven bridesmaids, and my mom. Everyone looked absolutely beautiful.
Prior to the wedding, Dana worked to put together a timeline for the day of the wedding. She was extremely patient and flexible when I asked for changes to be made. Thanks to Dana's organization, everything ran so smoothly. It was effortless and enjoyable for everyone.
Dana is so talented. She has a true passion for wedding styles and it shows in her work. On top of that, she is incredibly sweet and made everyone feel at ease.
My wedding was a hot and VERY humid day but our hair looked great ALL day. I am so happy that I chose Dana for my wedding and so grateful to her for making me look and feel beautiful. Fairy Godmother
Finding the right hair and makeup artist was one of my most nerve wracking parts of planning our intimate wedding until I found Dana. She made it easy. We did engagement photo hair, a trial for my hair with my veil and hair and makeup for the wedding day. She even handmade my hair piece! Besides being amazingly talented in both hair and makeup, she made me, my Matron of Honor and our three daughters feel relaxed, confident and beautiful on the big day. She is so sweet and brings a sense of calmness to an otherwise hectic day. Our hair and makeup stayed all day; even our daughters who were bouncing around all day!! If you have any doubts, don’t. I would hire Dana again in a heartbeat. -

Dana did my hair and makeup & did makeup for the rest of the wedding party. First of, she did a STUNNING job on my hair. I have very thick hair so sometimes traditional up-dos can look very large. I wanted a hair style that cascaded down which she achieved effortlessly. During the trial, I was able to make changes to how I wanted my makeup to look since I am usually more natural. She is very professional, able to handle any day-of changes or difficult bridal party members, and is super sweet. She is so quick to respond which is helpful for an anxious bride lol. MOST importantly my makeup lasted literally all night long and had NO dry patches which typically happens when i wear makeup because of my dry skin. 10/10 -

Felt Beautiful!
Dana was fantastic! I used her for my engagement photos. I knew in my head what I wanted and had a couple of pics, and she was able to take them and create something that would look fantastic on me! My hair and makeup stayed and looked for the entirety of the photos even it was hot and windy. Would absolutely recommend! -

UPDATE FOR WEDDING PART 2: Dana has been a joy [get it lol] to work with and I knew my hair and makeup, along with my bridal party’s hair and makeup would turn out fantastic for our May 30th wedding after she did my hair and makeup for my backyard wedding in September 2020! Dana is easy to communicate with, flexible and patient with your ideas and creative in so many ways. She is fun to have around when getting ready with your girls and will do whatever it takes to make sure you look and feel your best walking into your wedding! I had changed my mind numerous times throughout the planning process of how I wanted to do my hair and Dana was even flexible to allow me to do another trial to see if I liked another style. She keeps track of every look she has done and is 100% accurate and on the mark when it comes to planning the day, being there on time and timelines as far as everyone being done in time! I appreciate you Dana and all of us felt so beautiful thanks to you. I highly recommend Dana for your wedding day, your engagement shoots, shower or any special event.
I don't even know where to start with this review because Dana is simply amazing. I am so glad I reached out to her a year ago for my wedding. Not only is she extremely talented with her work, but she is kind, patient, flexible and someone I consider a friend. I have also gained a hairdresser in the area now. I had my wedding "part one" this past weekend and Dana communicated with me all the way up to the big day and was here on time and ready to go! So glad I found Dana! She’s a really lovely person - very easy to talk to! She listened to my rambling thoughts on what I was hoping to do for hair and makeup and the finished result was spot on!
Our original wedding plans were downsized this year due to Covid. As our plans changed over and over again she was so compassionate and understanding. She kept me in the loop with what to expect the day of with the new guidelines and made the whole process so relaxed and stress-free.
Everyone’s hair and makeup turned out so beautiful. (She even convinced my mom to try an updo, she never wears her hair up and she loved it!) She did a phenomenal job and it held up VERY well. The A/C broke the morning of at our venue and it was a 90+ degree day, but even with the sweat (and the happy tears!) we looked great through it all.
I highly recommend her and I can’t wait to work with her again next year at our “big” wedding! -

I am SO glad I found Dana. I had come across her info in a FB wedding group that I'm in. After looking through her website and insta (love her hair tutorial vids, she makes it look effortless), I knew I needed to book a trial. After sitting down in her chair, and watching her work on my hair for just 10 minutes I knew I was going to hire her. You can tell she takes pride in her work and making people look and feel good.
My originally planned wedding was postponed to next year due to COVID, but we still got married on our original date in a small elopement ceremony. Dana was very understanding and easy to communicate with as we were navigating our way through all the changes/plans. She made me look and feel like a bride on my special day! Her updos are amazing and they stay put all day and night. I slept in mine and could have worn it the next day. In fact, the next day I just took the bobby pins out of the bottom bun and threw my hair up higher on my head and I had an upcycled updo for our backyard celebration! Her makeup skills are also top notch. She can do it all...airbrush, traditional, more natural-looking, and lashes too!
On a side note, she's just a lovely person. We had a nice time chatting and hanging out the 2 times I've been in her chair so far. I can't wait until she works on me and all my girls next year for our wedding re-do/reception. If you get a chance to work with Dana, do it! -

I’m so glad I found Dana. She’s excellent at her craft and very efficient. She styled 5 women in a great time frame ( a variety of up do’s and 1/2 up 1/2 down) She’s also competitively priced and doesn’t charge extra for Sunday’s or traveling to the location! Dana did the hair for myself, all my bridesmaids and my mom for my wedding last weekend. From the moment I started talking with Dana til the wedding she was very responsive, very nice and flexible and overall just a dream to work with. All the girls asked for different styles and Dana was able to give them each what they wanted. I also loved my hair and it stayed all night! Lastly she is very reasonably priced. No matter what the service is, Dana never puts less then 100% into her work, whether it be hair, makeup, or lash extensions. I always look forward to my appointments with her because she is very personable, and I know it’ll be just like hanging out with a friend. If you haven’t gone to see her for a service, you are doing yourself a disservice! Run to see Dana, she won’t disappoint!
