The Dan Hayes Orchestra exceeded my expectations
Dan was absolutely the best to work with he was like a 2nd wedding planner! From the start when we spoke with Dan you could tell how professional he was and he knew what he was doing. We went to hear the band play at another wedding and although acoustics weren't great we could tell they still sounded good. After we booked the band Dan would check in with us and provided a very accurate timeline to how the flow of the wedding would go from ceremony to the end of the reception. He provided us with a wide range of music from oldies to current pop music that the band could play and that we were to pick about 40 songs from the list. Dan kept assuring us that he would keep the dance floor packed and he did! They play the Hora which really got everyone dancing. We didn't do a bouquet or garter toss and no one noticed because they were too busy having a good time on the dance floor. The band was interactive on the floor with guests and we had a lot of people tell us how impressed they were the band. The Dan Hayes Orchestra exceeded my expectations for a wedding band and were by far the best value for an 8 piece band. I don't know where to even begin! I had the supreme pleasure of working alongside the Dan Hayes Band for a recent wedding. In my role as the couples wedding planner, I could not have asked for a more accommodating partner in Dan & a team in all of the artists that accompany him! They were not only flexible & communicative with me, they were an absolute delight to work with - so kind! - & entertaining as can be!! The dance floor was PACKED the entire night & the couple & their guests all had a blast! My assistant and I were even caught dancing a time or two!! They led the events & transitions of the evening flawlessly & kept the party going all night! Thank you Dan & band for serving our couple so well! The Dan Hayes Band was outstanding! The quality of singing and playing was top-notch. The singers had incredible energy, tight harmonies, and a wide repertoire! We and our guests had a great time dancing the night away. Plus, Dan was very easy to work with in planning beforehand. He is experienced and knows a lot about scheduling the evening and what works in terms of musical choices. I would definitely recommend this band to any bride in the Chicagoland area!The Dan Hayes Band was outstanding! The quality of singing and playing was top-notch. The Dan Hayes Band was very easy to work with and helped put on a great show. Dan called a few times to make sure he had the timing down for announcing the wedding party and had correct pronunciations! The Band was fabulous! The Dan Hayes Band was truly amazing at our wedding. Everyone was coming up to my now husband and I telling us how amazing the band was. They made the reception! The Dan Hayes band made my wedding. They were incredible and I still get so many compliments about them. Most people said that's one of the only weddings they've been to where people were dancing the entire time! Dan was so nice, patient and kind the work with. He always took my calls and emails in regards to letting me pick out all of the music leading up to when they started their set and of course with the set they played. He had great input, character and I would highly recommend putting them into your wedding budget. It will be worth your while. Thank you again Dan and the band!The Dan Hayes band made my wedding. Dan went above and beyond with the planning beforehand! He took the time to understand our requests and make them happen! Then, on the day, everything went off without a hitch! The Dan Hayes Band made our wedding a huge success! Dan was so awesome from the beginning, helping me with my song list and even with the timing of the entire night. He had such great advice given the amount of weddings he has been a part of and was a huge help throughout the entire time leading up to the wedding and even that night. The dance floor was packed the entire night and the first thing people say about our wedding is how awesome the band was. We are so happy we went with the Dan Hayes Band and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to have a band that plays a variety of great music and keeps the party going!The Dan Hayes Band made our wedding a huge success! He made sure that we were happy every step of the way, and listened to all of our recommendations/requests. The band was even able to put a remix on our first dance song which I know wasn't easy. Our wedding was a year ago and I still receive compliments about how amazing our band was. Not only did they keep the dance floor full, but they also helped to make the night progress without any flaws. I have yet to come across a band that is better than the Dan Hayes band!

In all my years of attending a wide variety of gala events, weddings etc. I have never experienced a more professional and musically talented group of musicians. We have had the pleasure of having the Dan Hayes band perform at two of our children's wedding receptions and the incredibly positive comments that we have gotten from our attending guests have been too many to count.
Their music and entertainment style have been a major element in the wedding receptions being such a joyous and celebration filled evening. Needless to say, the dance floor was always filled and alive with joyous people.
There is nothing that can compare to a band playing live music at an event. The Dan Hayes Orchestra was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We wanted people to have FUN and dance all night, and the DHO was absolutely instrumental in making that happen! They have the best sound and energy, and absolutely shine on the 50s-80s music we wanted to hear. Every guest commented on how fantastic and fun they were - and their Motown Medley was a particular favorite! They also went above and beyond to learn our first dance song, which we so appreciated.

Dan Hayes and his team are absolutely amazing! I was lucky enough to be introduced to them during my sister-in-laws wedding and they hands down were the best part of the wedding! My husband and I have used them at our wedding back in January 2015 and since then two other family members have used them as well. Dan is great with communication and his organization is impeccable. He will answer any questions or concerns you may have and is totally willing to work with you to create the perfect package. The Dan Hayes Orchestra made our wedding the celebration we dreamt of and kept the night moving perfectly. Dan was responsive and helpful throughout the planning process and ensured that everything was taken care of for the day of. We had several somewhat obscure songs we wanted played as instrumentals for the ceremony and Dan made them happen beautifully! All of our guests raved about the band the entire night and the dance floor stayed packed! The Dan Hayes Orchestra is phenomenal! I loved working with Dan because he was so patient and organized and really knows what he is doing. We used a keyboardist and 2 vocalists for our ceremony at Patrick Haley Mansion and it sounded terrific. For the ceremony, we had a 12 piece orchestra and it was amazing! We got so many compliments from our guests and there were people dancing all night long. Everyone loved the music! Dan and his band are also very accommodating and will learn any song for you! The Dan Hayes Orchestra made our wedding a night we will never forget and we could not be happier with them!

When planning a wedding, many issues related to the music selection come up. We had the following: issues (1) I wanted to walk down the aisle to the gorgeous music of Penelope’s Song, (2) my fiancé, now husband, and his mom were going to dance to a random, but amazingly beautiful, song I found on YouTube, (3) my fiancé and I wanted to be introduced during the reception with the song “With This Ring”, (4) I wanted to sing “Total Eclipse of the Heart” with my college friends, and (5) my family wanted a good mix of Albanian dance songs played during the reception. How do you make all these things happen? You hire Dan Hayes Orchestra.
I love Dan! Dan’s patience and understanding is unsurpassed. Dan waited for my fiance and I to make up our mind about our first dance, he waited for us for months to give him the list of songs to use during the ceremony, and he did not get our list of Albanian songs until the day of the wedding. You know what? You would have never known that the Albanian songs mixed into the reception had not been planned or listened to in advance. The songs were beautiful and wonderfully incorporated into the reception music. And both sides of the family danced all night long and loved the music.
Dan and his band learned how to play “Penelope’s song” as well as the mother-son song “The Man You’ve Become”. The end result? We got everything we wanted and did not have to stress to get it. Dan handled everything on his end and did everything he could to ensure that everyone was happy, especially my fiancé and me.
Dan Hayes Orchestra is a talented wedding band. Everything they played, they played beautifully. Some people even told us that they felt like they were at a concert. And most importantly, the dance floor was always full, and my husband and I, and our families, had the best night ever. At the end of the day, you cannot ask for anything more.

This band was AWESOME. We received comments all night about how great they were. Everyone had a great time because the music they played was good and their sounds was amazing.
Gold Coast is a part of Prism Entertainment, and Dan Hayes was my contact person. Dan and DJ (leader of Gold Coast) were extremely nice and helpful during the wedding planning. The band was willing to connect our slide show to their sound system and learn new songs for our special dances. They also held my wedding date for me until I was able to hear Gold Coast in person. We booked our ceremony musicians through Prism Entertainment as well, and they were wonderful, too!
I looked at a lot of different bands, and I felt that I got an exceptional band for a great price. I recommend them to everyone!This band was AWESOME. Dan Hayes did an AMAZING job at our wedding! The dance floor was filled the entire night and we kept hearing for weeks (even still!) after the wedding how much fun everyone had (which I'll attribute mostly to Dan Hayes!).
We did a "New York Style" wedding (where people start dancing as soon as they enter the reception) and as I was waiting downstairs for my new husband and I to be introduced, a bunch of people were coming up to us and saying how the band was KILLING it! 5 minutes into the reception, that's a pretty amazing thing to hear.
A couple of key pointers:
- If you let Dan know the kind of music you and your parents like, he'll do a great job of picking out the songs -- I mostly just said what the "definitely not" songs were!
- They were even generous enough to learn new songs that weren't on their song list for us for both the ceremony and reception! This was super important to me and made Nate and I extremely happy with the results!
- Dan is pretty opinionated about the way he thinks the timeline should work so be prepared to fight the good fight for the timeline you want (if that's important to you!); We went back and forth a lot because he thought mine was way too tight but it turned out perfectly and ran on schedule all evening!
- Make sure if you want more "real time" current hits that you have them on your phone or a playlist for the band breaks; We put on Justin Bieber's "Sorry" after we'd heard a lot of oldies in a row and the crowd loved it but it's not something Dan Hayes will have on hand! They do learn current day stuff but it's obviously a little harder to learn every new song on a regular basis =)
