Outstanding!!! The DWV crew were absolutely incredible the day of our wedding. They were kind, funny, energetic and everything you would want in someone who is following you around with a camera all day. I didn't feel uncomfortable with anything they were doing and they were on top of everything during our special day. If I had to think of a way to describe them, stealth like ninjas is what I would refer them to. If something was happening at the reception, they were already there recording it from multiple angles. I never felt like they were in our face or making us do something we weren't comfortable with. We are waiting to watch our video on our 1 year anniversary but I know we'll be happy with the end result. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

We knew from the moment we started planning our wedding that videography was a must for us. There was a certain 'look' we were wanting for our wedding memories and DWVfar exceeded our expectations with the level of quality and creativity they use. Their passion for their work and dedication to their clients show in the quality of the films they produce- We feel that we are beyond lucky to have had the opportunity to have DWV with us on our wedding day. They know exactly how to capture each moment so that you relive the moment each time you watch it. There isn't anyone else I would ever recommend - we are confident that we had the best of the best with us on our wedding day and cannot thank Hobie and his team enough for capturing our day perfectly!!!!

Hobie was so sweet, worked with my budget, responded to me quicklyand captured every precious moment! I purchased the package for just the highlight video and he gave me that AND footage of EVERYTHING! I couldn’t be happier with dallas wedding videography and I highly suggest using him!!

Our videos turned out so wonderful! I will admit it took some time - we had them change a song (not facebook friendly) and delete some footage (the cake was leaning and turned out awful!!) They were very helpful and said they would keep making changes till we were happy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DWV - we have watched our videos 100s of times and show them to everyone, money well spent!!!

Absolutely the best experience possible. Hobie was very attentive to my needs from start to finish. The video of my wedding was beautiful and I'm so pleased with the finished product. Great experience! We are in love with all of our wedding videos. Bill showed up on time and communicated with me all day. We got our videos back super quick which we were very excited about. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great quality videographer that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg!

Hiring Dallas Wedding Videography was one of the best wedding decisions we made (but didn’t initially agree on)! Even from the beginning of our wedding planning, I knew that I really wanted a videographer, but I didn’t know if I could find someone that would give me that “experience” of the day I was craving. It all seemed in vain (and extremely expensive) until I found Hobie. My husband was initially on the fence about hiring a videographer, but even he couldn’t hold back the emotions after watching a few of our videos! They have this uncanny ability to capture the sweetest (and funniest) moments of a wedding and put them together into these beautiful productions that perfectly capture the couple and their love. I have to admit that we even used these videos as a sort of “therapy” during the wedding planning process. Whenever we got overwhelmed by all the details and family drama, we sat down and watched a video or two. Suddenly, we were filled with joy and anticipation for the day again!

As if making wonderful videos wasn’t enough, hobie and his crew are some of the nicest people we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. It was truly a joy to have them with us on our wedding day. Although neither of us were used to having a video camera trained on us, Hobie and Cassie made it feel so natural that we practically forgot we were being recorded. They even joined in the fun and celebrations—adding to our beloved memories instead of simply just recording them. If you’re looking for a great videographer, hire Dallas Wedding Videography! It will honestly be one of the best investments you can make.

I love my video. It is better than I could have imagined. Cassie and Hobie captured every special moment of our ceremony and rehearsal. They were very professional, prompt, and organized. They were present and actively recording every moment from getting ready at 8 am the day of until the reception was over late that evening. DWV was one of the best vendors I used for our wedding. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

This team was nothing but professional. They called me to let me know that they were at the venue which I loved. They took the most amazing pictures that captured so much emotion that I never saw. I was so moved with the video that I have received. The editing is incredible and everything I wanted. I'm beyond excited to have had them at my wedding. We had zero issues with them!!! They were at the venue exactly when they said they would be. They worked wonderfully with our photographer to work together to both get the best shots. Our videos that we got back are beautiful quality and we couldnt be happier. Not to mention, the prices were extremely reasonable and we were so happy to have used them for our wedding!

Dallas Wedding Vidography we absolutly awesome It was a hot and windy Tesxas summer and we worried how the video would run out - we couldnt be more happier. I got a recommendation from a friend to hire dallas wedding videography. I was a little bit skeptical not personally knowing the videographer, but Hobie Thompson ended up being very professional and very responsive to any request I had. Hobie and his assistant showed up bright and early, far before the wedding even started. He shot video of me and my bridesmaids getting ready, the ceremony and the reception as well. The video came out absolutely beautiful, he knew when to take the perfect shots. Now I have something to remember my wedding forever ! Thank you so much Dallas wedding videography!

We got married in July 2017 and Dallas Wedding Videography did a wonderful job! We wanted someone in our budget who would provide a full video of our ceremony and not just a highlight video. Everyone else we talked to only provided the highlight video and they were out of our budget. I was so happy when I came across Dallas Wedding Videography and was able to get a full ceremony video with highlights from the reception and a separate highlight video for a great price and great quality!

I have nothing but good things to say about this company. A highlight video was not a top priority of mine but my mother in law insisted on paying for one. Not only was I extremely impressed with the quality of videos they've created in the past, but they were a pleasure to work with as well. We had two videographers from DWV and they were excellent. They captured every special moment from the cake cutting to random little kisses my husband and I shared. I am so glad we invested in a video now that I look back on our big day because so much happened that can't be expressed in just a photo. I cannot wait to see how the highlight turns out! Great investment for a reasonable price!

We decided at the last minute to hire a videographer for our daughter's wedding. Thankfully Hobie was available and stepped into high gear to help us! We didnot have any time to meet with him prior to the wedding due to the late nature of our request so he was at a bit of a disadvantage come wedding day. However, he managed to capture every important moment at both the wedding and reception! He got every single word of every speech and the entire wedding ceremony. The videos he created for us are such a treasure and recapture the spirit of that day so perfectly. Dallas Wedding Videography did a wonderful job for us, thank you Hobie!!

You get what you pay for! 6 months to receive initial videos another 3 months to receive the other video segments via URL Links. Missed key parts of wedding like Farther of the Bride's speech, garter toss, bouquet toss, and Best Man speech. Also, he used 2 different cameras (with noticeable quality variances) in final videos during ceremony and reception. Very responsive at beginning (when he needed the down payment) but after wedding he was extremely slow. Still haven't received final USB video I purchased and it's almost been a year since the wedding (December 2017) nor respond to my emails over the last 2 months. Men, listen to your fiancee and spend more money on someone else!

I hired Hobie for videography for our wedding but someone named Phil showed up. Phil failed to bring his copy of the timeline we provided and missed some important stuff throughout the day like my husband and I reading letters to each other and my first look with my dad where he presented a china cabinet he built for us. I was really sad those things weren't caught on tape. He didn't miss anything else after I had a chat with him about that. Following the wedding it took 6 months to get our footage, he released a couple of videos along the way, but in that time the footage would go away on his website b/c he had copyright issues with Vimeo. It came to a point where Hobie was so unresponsive to emails/calls and the videos kept disappearing that we had a lot of anxiety on if we would get our footage at all. Dealing with him was such a stressful experience because he will take weeks to reply to an email and you'll get one word answers. He goes out of the country a lot and will just say he is out of the country. He is a terrible business person when it comes to communication. I never saw those signs before the wedding b/c he was responsive when I was trying to book his business or pay invoices so I know he is capable. As far as quality, honestly, I'm thrilled to have the footage for our wedding, the reception video is my favorite because it helped me relive every moment. We have an hour of reception footage, the full ceremony, a pre wedding video and a highlight video. The quality is not that great, I recommend having a videographer, but not this one. If you book them, you're in for a nightmare experience.

I don't know how loudly I can say this but couples please beware. We had our wedding on 4/7/2018 and have yet to receive all the footage. Communication is absolutely terrible and Hobie would continuously lie to us about the status of our package. This vendor has absolutely been the MOST STRESSFUL part of our wedding. This was the only aspect of our wedding that has gone horribly wrong and still leaves an awful taste in my mouth. If we could go back in time we would spend extra money to get another vendor. Please, please, please choose ANYONE else. If you can have friends and family with cell phone videos, it would be less of a chore. The editing he actually gave us was good, but for thousands of dollars and the type of event this company was working (once in a lifetime) the overall experience is abysmal. My husband and I still do not have the footage of our best man and maid of honor speeches and we are heartbroken over it. I tried to give Hobie plenty of warning that if he would not communicate with us and/or give us the product we paid for, I would write a bad review. I've called, texted, and emailed but I've been ignored. He didn't take me seriously--much like he didn't take our special day seriously--and here it is. No amount of editing can make up for the nightmare of a company these people are to work with.

I regret using this vendor

Hobie is very communicative in the beginning when he wants your money, after that crickets.
We were married 12/08/18 and received the ceremony video fairly quickly. After that we heard nothing back until I emailed three months later asking for the rest of the videos. When we sat down to watch them, they are terrible! He missed our cocktail hour, and grand entrance because he was SITTING IN HIS CAR! Our wedding coordinator had to go find him! He set up a tripod and walked away so most of the footage is of the back of my guest's heads! What he did film has a terrible yellow filter and its fuzzy. Completely unwatchable! And to top it off, he missed our cake cutting as well.
We have reached put to ask for a partial refund to no avail. Next step is legal action.

After not having received our wedding video over a month after our July 2017 wedding, I contacted Hobie who didn't have a clue where our product was. He was very mean and curt and said that they were too busy. We finally got in contact with the actual videographer who hadn't finished the video. He was nice, but very unprofessional - as he texted and called us while he was on a plane to Canada. When we received our video, they hadn't even included our actual ceremony vow exchange. The videographer ended up editing the video. However, he was talking throughout parts of the video taken during our reception. It was really a horrible experience for me and overall unprofessional. I'm so sad because the reviews I read were so positive. I guess our expectations were too high! I'm just thankful we have a video of our wedding at all.

Avoid like the plague

Do yourself a favor and skip over this listing. It isn't worth your time or your trouble. Hobie will not return your calls. He will not return your emails. He will come up with every excuse in the world why his job isn't done. We are in the process now of speaking to a business lawyer for breach of contract. We were married 8 months ago and after 4 months I heard nothing back. I reached out to him and he said he is the only editor and it takes longer than normal companies. I asked when it would be done and he sent me one 10 minute video and said everything else would be done by end of the week. That was a lie. Two months later I reached out to him again and asked where it was... he sent me another 10 minute video and I was told it would be done soon. It's now been 2 months and he hasn't said anything. He is now ignoring my emails and my phone calls. I will be visiting to addresses listed in his name this weekend to see if I can find him. He is unprofessional and lazy. He shows up looking unprofessional and unkept. Do not waste your time. He will lie to you and you will never get what you paid for.

No video 15 months after wedding

LITERALLY DO NOT HIRE HOBIE!! My wedding was June 2, 2018, 15 MONTHS AGO! I still do not have a completely wedding video sent to me on a usb. I received a USB back in May 2019, so 13 months after the wedding after so much back and forth I’m lucky I even got that. BUT IT WAS THE WRONG COUPLE!! Wasn’t even me and my husband. The only way I could ever get Hobie to communicate was to threaten legal action or to contacting the BBB. For months he used the excuse that he didn’t have record of my email address and therefore got confused, even though the subject line of every email I have ever sent him was my wedding date, so there really wasn't any room for misunderstanding. I wish. Last I heard from him was over a month ago and he was “looking into it” because his records show he sent out a package. Which he did, but again THE FOOTAGE WAS OF THE WRONG COUPLE!! Literally the most unprofessional person I have ever come into contact with. I cannot stress how much better off you would be spending a few hundred dollars more and getting someone who won’t be a literal pain in you backside for 15 months after your wedding. Or even cheaper, go to target and buy a camcorder to set up in the aisle during the ceremony if you just want a video to look back on but don’t necessarily care about editing and such.

Dallas Wedding Videography Are Scammers - Hobie

Worst experience of my life. Hobie was rude during our wedding which happened 2 years ago. He will not respond to my calls and emails. He never gave us our video and also never gave us back our money. Do not trust the Knot! This guy is a scammer. He will just take your money and run. This company should be out of business. I will not stop until he is. I already put in a claim with the Better Business Bureau.

STAY AWAY! I haven't received my wedding videos yet after a year

They are the most unprofessional people ever. It's been a YEAR since my wedding and I haven't received my wedding videos yet. They don't respond to calls or texts and come up with excuses when they respond to my emails to why I haven't received my videos yet. I HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND WORKING WITH THEM. I paid everything upfront and agreed to the contract before my wedding. They are the most unprofessional people to work with. Their prices might be low, but there is a reason for that.

Horrible service

They are hard to reach after the wedding. I was so disappointed that they did not film the entrance which is the most important part and the only reason I got the video in the first place. They asked me to pay $50 more than originally asked, which I did. They have not returned calls, emails, texts, for the past month. I am so upset with this video that I've only watched (never seen the entire video) the first part of the video once. I really want my money back. DO NOT RECOMMMEND.

We have not had a positive experience with this company. I would NOT recommend using them for their services. We got married in June of 2017 and have still not received our videos or a USB file with the footage. We have seen two or three pop up on a website but they've been removed and now we have NOTHING from our wedding. Here is a screen shot from our web page and also a link to the Better Business Bureau who gives this company an F rating where I will also be filing a complaint.

PLEASE DON’T PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!!!
This business has zero to no professional service at all – Hobie, the owner is terrible! I rate this company and their service -0/5, I am still a very sad bride, writing this in pain as I remember the difficult times I passed through a year ago (I paid in full), after this business covered the videography of my wedding. My wedding was on May 2017, and it took them about 10 months for me to get my videos from them, meanwhile, the average turnaround time is usually 6-8 weeks. I had sent them samples of videos I liked for my own video with songs to accompany them, the editing turned out so bad I cried; it was shaky and not clear, it had voices in the background that could have been removed. I even contacted them about it, and they did absolutely nothing to make them better!!! I had made many complaints about the delay and even threatened to give them a bad review if I didn’t get them in time, to no avail, rather I got many excuses that they were having problems retrieving my data from the hard disk that stored my wedding video. They are so unprofessional, all the while; I always had to reach out to them for updates, they never bothered to call me to ease my patience. I am so happy I listened to my wedding planner’s advice not to use the same vendor for videography and photography, unless, they would have done a terrible job on the photography as well. Please, for your peace of mind, I will solely encourage you not to patronize them. Terrible/worse service ever!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! HOBIE IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY LIFE...HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! After I paid in full, and confirmed the wedding date and location for my son's wedding; no one from Dallas Wedding Videography showed up to the wedding. We had to delay starting the ceremony while I called Hobie, and got no answer. Then I emailed him. No answer as well. Since he didn't refund my money, I had to go through my credit card company for a refund. No amount of money can replace the lost memories because this company did not show up. Should be a 0/5...shouldn't have to mark anything to get the review through.

I wish I could give 0 stars! There is no way I can leave a positive review for this company! I really think most of the positive reviews left here were put here by the company. As I look and see people leaving reviews that have gotten married after me, I am very suspicious since I was married on July 30 and have not received my video. No one has responded to my emails either. I have been very patient up to this point, but the fact that NO ONE has bothered to respond and it has been 3 months is ridiculous. All I want is what I paid for! If you actually want to receive a video of your wedding day, I recommend you go with someone else

I am so shocked to see that this company has a 4-5 star rating! My wedding was back in June of this year and we got our videos back over a month past the “four weeks” we were told by one of the videographers at the wedding. To start things off, we were not informed that this company hires multiple videographers to shoot weddings (we thought the person that owned Dallas Wedding Videography would be shooting our wedding) but a few weeks after the wedding we discovered one of the videographers had absolutely no experience shooting weddings as it was his first one ever and he would be the one editing our wedding video. It was excuse after excuse and finally when it came time for our videos to be done, his computer “crashed” and lost all edited footage. Our ceremony video audio was absolutely horrible, only one of the two videographers (we paid extra for to make sure nothing was missed for this important day) footage turned out, apparently the other shooters footage did not, so in the video I didn’t even get to capture my husbands emotional first reaction to me walking down the isle. The highlight video was an absolute joke with it being less than three minutes! In the beginning we were told to choose four songs that would be played throughout the highlight video, but only one was played and it definitely did not go with the flow of the video (it was a very fast song). I hope that this review is read and taken into serious consideration before you waste your $1,300 on a company that you think will capture the one of the most important days of your life “profesionally”.
