The Market Place is a simply beautiful venue. It was perfect for our afternoon reception! Chad was very friendly and even allowed us to move our decorations in the night before. The reception hall ended up looking lovely! The highboy tables that were requested were not present on the day of, but we were able to work around this and all in all were very pleased with the venue. If you are looking for a quaint venue in the North Georgia Mountains, I highly recommend The Market Place.

Both our ceremony and reception were held at Dahlonega Market Place (we had a cocktail hour at a nearby hotel so we could switch all the chairs and tables easily) and they were both wonderful. Chad was very helpful and flexible in the planning of our wedding, and he was really cool with about anything we asked. We had a band, so the stage was wonderful, and the bar was big enough to serve everyone without being too crowded. The only hang up was that the venue doesn't have a full kitchen, but we used the Smith House for catering so they dealt with everything down the street at their own location and there were no issues at all. The venue is classic and simple and worked absolutely beautifully. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone!!

Dahlonega Market Place was amazing! I could have asked for a better venue to hold our formal. Mrs. Stone was a great host and i would love to work with her again!

My husband and I booked Dahlonega Market Square for our rehearsal dinner, and we're so glad that we did. Our wedding was at Montaluce Winery, and with it being an out of town wedding, we invited all of our 135 guests to our rehearsal dinner the night before. Dahlonega Market Place fit the bill perfectly for us and our needs. It was in the perfect location for all of our guests, a quick walk from all the hotels in the Square, and offered us the chance to give our guests a different location than another winery. Additionally, the flexibility with catering and bringing in liquor was a huge help.

Chad was extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the planning process for our event and really easy to work with. The bar was big enough for all our guests, where a crazy line didn't seem to build up and we had plenty of room for our catering tables for a buffet. The one major downfall to the space was that there was no elevator - for the caterer and any guests with physical limitations. I know a few of our older guests found the stairs a little daunting, but we made everyone aware of this heading into the evening. Otherwise, it was easy to dress up with simple centerpieces and some light decor scattered throughout.

If you're getting married at a vineyard in the Dahlonega area, Dahlonega Market Place offers the perfect opportunity for another wedding-related event that is not at another vineyard. I would highly recommend the space if you're planning on having a larger rehearsal dinner the night before your wedding.

They've been wonderful with us! They're very affordable and the venue is perfect for the small wedding we want. They are very flexible with catering and bar options, which was hard for us to find.

This is a fantastic venue with lots of space! The historic features give it great character! The downtown location is great as well. It has a nice, large bar and a big stage if you need space for a band. There were a few obstacles we dealt with: there is no handicap accessibility, no working kitchen, and only two restrooms (men's/women's). Mariana, the owner, is very easy to work with and she had great help the night of the event. I would recommend this venue to everyone!

    Do Not Book!

I was the designated maid of honor for the bride at the wedding reception this venue hosted and to say the word nightmare is an understatement. Time on the invitations was 6pm and we were told that set up is at 5pm and we had to be cleaned up and out of the doors by 9pm. We obviously show up at 4:30 to prepare unloading and 5pm comes around and the owner “Chad” is no where to be seen. The bride, groom, myself, and multiple other attendees that arrived early to assist with set up were unable to reach the owner. At 5:45p what appeared to be a highly intoxicated “Chad” opened the doors, made a sarcastic joke, and left. I was APPALLED! We were left 15 minutes to decorate a wedding (tables, chairs, photobooth, bar, food, dance floor, music, etc.) and because of the owner we lost time of the reception because we were left with 15 minutes. I read in a review that the owner refunded $200 and played this off on his mother. Taking accountability. You quite literally ruined my best friends reception and you want to give her a half-a** apology and not even half back what she paid for the amount of stress she was put through. There was a clear contract and it was breached. Highly do NOT recommend! Also all the lighting fixtures on the columns are different hues and colors and do not make for uniform photos. The owner was late and the venue was underwhelming and the owners response to everything is almost worse!

    Lack of response/Unprofessional

I spent a 2 weeks trying to set up an appointment to see the venue. Mr. Wimpy does not answer his phone or respond to voicemails or emails in a timely manner. We did finally set up 2 appointments with him. The first was cancelled due to inclement weather. The 2nd appointment he did not show up for. We came in from out of town. I even confirmed on the Thursday before the Saturday appointment. We called and left an email and still have not heard from him.

I typically do not write negative reviews, but in this instance I feel it is a must. My now husband and I recently got married, and I just want all of the future brides out there to be aware of the potential issues. We saw The Dahlonega Market Place online, and we were immediately impressed. It is beautiful. My fiancé (at the time) and I scheduled a time to visit the venue, which, by the way, is already very difficult to do. However, I know there there are events pretty regularly, so that is a detail we can overlook. We finally got the opportunity to see the venue, and it was pretty though not quite as beautiful as the pictures. There were a few things we did not like. The chairs are cheap, the "bread kitchen" is an absolute disaster, and the overall set up is a bit inconvenient - the bar is in the middle of the venue. To be fair, there are some pros. The location is great and the hardwood floors are a nice touch. Though we decided to book, I had some major concerns with ceremony seating. Where would I enter? How would we arrange chairs? You know, the typical bride questions. When I reached out to Chad with my concerns, the only advice he had for me was to check Facebook for pictures. Sadly, there were no pictures with a ceremony set up. This only compounded my stress. We also had issues with vendors. The ones on his list were unresponsive and difficult to work with. Vendors not on his list stated that they were uncomfortable catering because the venue space is on the second floor, and there is no elevator. This seemed to be the biggest flaw of the venue considering our DJ also had concerns with getting his equipment up and down a flight of stairs. Even though there was no contract, Chad would not refund our deposit, and even still, we walked away to have the wedding elsewhere. Choosing another venue that TRULY cared about our wedding, and not just the check made a world of difference in the planning process and my stress level.
