    I used this DJ service having never met them on a recommendation from my caterer. Doing a destination wedding on the beach in Mi meant I couldn't meet with them at all before the event. Our DJ, Sean, did a great job communicating with me before the event over the phone and by email. He was able to meet a few special requests (my uncle and cousin needed him to supply mic's for them to play in our ceremony) and overall did an outstanding job. I would recommend Sean highly!

    James was the DJ for our wedding on November 7, 2009. He was great! Lots of energy and even played Kenny Chesney for me :)

    We had D James himself as our wedding reception DJ. He did a great job, played the few things we had requested, and did a wonderful job playing the rest of the night. Our dance floor was always full and dancing is one of my favorite memories of the night! He was very professional, discreet, and easy to get along with.

    Our reception was a blast and the main reason was because James kept the floor hoppin' the whole night. He is very easy to work with and is open to suggestions from you about what you want for your event!!

    Out of all of our vendors, I would say that our DJ was the most important to us and James did not let us down..

    They made the atmosphere awesome, they stuck to what i wanted and what i didnt. on time and setup perfectly.

    We got married2 1/2 yrs ago and these guys were great. They met with us prior and went over a play list with us and pretty much customized our list to our taste (and that's not easy to please since my husband has such a broad taste in music. They also stuck to the DO NOT PLAY list, which I really appreciated.

    My husband had a surprise for me and sang to me. Him and the DJ had everything all worked out prior and things went great. They were professional and very polite. I even recommended them to my sil when she got married this year and things were still just as great!!!!

    DJames was the DJ at our event. We had a great time, and our guests had a lot of fun. Personally I think music can make or break an event. We used modern songs instead of traditional music, and he was more than willing to get all the songs we requested (and kept from playing any ones we asked him not to).

    Prices seemed extremely reasonable, I had seen other DJs that were 2x as much. I was planning the wedding from out of state, so I didn't have much time. We met once, 2 days before the wedding, and everything went perfectly. He knows what he is doing and knows how to put music together. He even humored a young cousin who likes to ask a lot of questions. Very friendly, very easy to get along with. Definitely recommend.

    James did a great job DJ'ing at our wedding! He really paid attention to our "do-not" and "must" playlist, and we really appreciated his attention to detail with the music. James had great suggestions for our first dance and introduction songs, and kept a great energy going all night! The reasoning for four stars on Responsiveness is that he was hard to reach on email and his phone. He would always return the email/call, but it would usually take a while. Overall, however, we would 100% recommend James as a DJ. He really knows his stuff. Thanks again!

    What a party we had! And a lot of the thanks goes to DJames....
    My experience started over a year before the wedding, when I knew how important music was to a reception. While it was a little tricky getting a hold of James during the prior summer's wedding season (very busy) - he was always responsive to my questions - and closer to the wedding he was very quick to respond and set up a meeting prior to the wedding that was very helpful.

    DJames was extremely flexible with the requests that we had for how the evening should go. We had already come up with cocktail hour and dinner hour playlists and he accomodated our requests without question (he trusted our music taste after review). He also excepted and accomodated our requests for the dance portion of the reception - but used his experience to make sure that the dance floor remainded hopping. He was able to mix some tunes together - which was incredible and it felt like we were "at the club" at some points. He also did not play anything that we had requested not be played. In meeting with him before the wedding, he got to know us as a couple and even surprised us by throwing in one of our favorite movie hits. We had tons of compliments from the guests and the dance floor was one of the most active dance floors anyone has ever seen at a wedding. Amazing!

    James was great to work with. Everyone loved the music at the reception. He stuck with our list and worked off the vibe in the room. He was great at introductions and kept the night running smooth.

    When we met with James, we had a very nice meeting. We felt like we were going to be well taken care of and that he understood what we wanted for our day. He was not going to be our DJ, instead he sent someone he said would take care of us. When we arrived at our reception, our DJ was polite but rather scattered. He also was not great at intoductions. Overall we were disappointed with both the music selection and keeping our guests informed at when things were happening. We would highly suggest meeting the actual person who would be the DJ and hopefully your day will turn out better than ours did.

    I am disappointed to hear that you were not completely satisfied with your dj. I have personally been in this business for over 12 years and we do play 4-6 weddings per weekend as a company. I still continue to dj every weekend as well.

    Your feedback is very important and I plan to speak with your dj to see how we can make appropriate adjustments in the future.

    I certainly would arrange for any client to meet their actual dj in the weeks prior to the wedding as I really do try to provide the best care that I can to our brides and grooms.

    It truly is our goal to meet expectations and stick to our clients parameters on music.

    James was a nice guy. He was scattered and forgot appointments leaving us waiting for over an hour and half. He promised he would match our DJ perfectly to our taste. The day of our wedding the DJ, who we had never met, showed-up in a sweater vest...that should say it all. He did not play any "newer" music even when my husband and I personally requested something that was of our generation. The lead to a basically empty dance floor. I would never recommend this company. I know James is a nice guy, but the DJ was the one aspect of our wedding that I really would like the chance to re-do.

    This was an unfortunate occurence. We always strive to do our best. As a company we have been in business for 10+ years and have 7 djs and 5 systems. We continue to have extremely happy clients and excellent partys with guests dancing and having fun all night long. Our apologies for this particular event not going exactly as expected. We take our feedback seriously and use it to improve everyone's experience.

    I was all too excited when I was first in contact with James. Everything seemed right on target with what we wanted for our wedding. As we got closer it became impossible to get in touch with him. Finally, after 2 weeks of calling, leaving messages and recieving texts from him saying he couldn't get a hold of me (which was a sad untruth-being that I was recieving 30+ other calls a day) I was able to reach him by calling from a number he didn't know-the night before our wedding. During that call he assured me all was on track, and we had a good comfirmation of what we wanted/didn't want. When my husband and I arrived at our reception we were blindsided by the DJ (who was NOT James) telling us, "Welcome to your reception....I don't have the songs you wanted." Great way to begin our reception. Not only did he not have our music, he didn't listen to my request that all songs were RADIO version (so my kids and grandma heard cursing and obscenities-all night!), he didn't play songs that were requested-and hell, he didn't even pay the genres of music we wanted. I understand that this DJ was called to do our wedding only an hour before he had to be there, and so it wasn't his fault if James hadn't prepared him. However that is when the stories began. First I was told DJ James was ill, then after speaking with his manager I found out he was actually double booked with a MSU v. UoM gig and decided to stay with that. Then (here's the cherry on top) James texted me @ 1:40AM on my wedding night!!!! Apparently it was THAT important to let me know that he was sick and sorry. I cannot tell you how unhappy EVERYONE involved was. Music is a huge part of my family's life-and we had been looking forward to our wedding for 13+ years, so to have such an amazing let down and then the complete unprofessionalism along with it was awful. I would absolutely NEVER recommend this DJ company. Out of everything from that day this was our only let-down...which is great I suppose, but still not acceptable.
