Yummy and Original

We are so glad that we decided to go with Cupcake Downsouth for our dessert option at our wedding! Not only were the cupcakes absolutely delicious, but they look amazing as well. Our guests loved them and were still talking about them days later! We ordered 10 dozen mini cupcakes and a single layer cake. All came out beautifully and were displayed perfectly. Kaley was a pleasure to work with and we'll definitely be recommending Cupcake Downsouth to anyone looking for an alternative dessert for their wedding day!

Amazing Mini Cupcakes

We absolutely loved working with Cupcake Downsouth for our Wedding. We had a single layer cake and 5 dozen different mini cupcakes! Riann wonderful to work with from start to finish. Our guests are still talking about how great the cupcakes were!!!!

Deliciously perfect!

We ordered mini cupcakes and they were perfect! So easy to have as the dessert for the wedding. Riann and team set them up for us and everything was perfect! Thank you!

Wedding Cake and Cupcakes

We absolutely loved working with Cupcake Downsouth for our Wedding. We had a breathtaking 2 tier wedding cake and amazing cupcakes!! They were so wonderful to work with from start to finish. Our guests are still talking about how Yummy the cupcakes were!! Thank you so much!!!!

Highly recommend!

Our entire experience with Cupcake Downsouth was wonderful! We worked with Riann who was so friendly and accomadating right from the start. We were planning our Charleston wedding from Chicago and we decided to add cupcakes to our menu kind of at the last minute. Riann was able to fit us in for a cupcake tasting on Thursday (11/1) and had our wedding cupcakes ready for us on Saturday (11/3). We ended up ordering 15 dozen mini cupcakes for our 60 person wedding (which breaks down to 3 mini cupcakes per person). My husband thought this was too many because we had two other desserts being provided by our caterer. He predicted people would have 1 or 2 cupcakes max, but he was wrong haha. The cupcakes stole the show. I saw several people with 5-6 mini cupcakes on their tiny dessert plates. We ordered the following flavors: death by chocolate, southern red velvet, rise and grind (which our coffee addicts loved), limon blu, spiked apple pie, and vegan salted caramel. All of the flavors were delicious and absolutely adorable. They looked so good on our dessert table. My only regrets were not ordering more of the death by chocolate and vegan salted caramel (which were loved by vegans and non-vegans alike). Also, Riann was kind enough to make cute little "vegan" flags which she placed in each vegan cupcake. So happy with our experience!

To-die-for cake pops

We used this vendor to make cake pops to use for our wedding favors. Riann was friendly & super easy to work with. The cake pops were yum!! We stuck with basic white cake but they were so moist, the best I’ve ever had!!

Loved these cupcakes!! Our guests loved them too! I loved we were able to get a large variety as well as a "large cupcake" for the cliche cake cutting picture. They were 100% customizable and delivered and set up for us as well.

We ordered cupcakes, cake pops and cookies for a "Welcome to Charleston Porch Party" we hosted for our son an his fiancé (in lieu of a rehearsal dinner). The desserts were wonderful and exactly what we wanted. We even sent photos of the cookies we desired and Cupcake DownSouth replicated them perfectly!

Selecting cupcakes from Cupcake Downsouth was one of the best things we did for our daughter's wedding! Maleia was absolutely fabulous to work with in all of the planning and ordering process. The guests raved about the assorted flavors and the few leftovers we had were easily sent home with the wedding party. The bride and groom chose to cut the mega cupcake instead of a large layered wedding cake. Delivery to the reception location was prompt and courteous. Do not think twice about using them for any of your cupcake needs! They are fantastic!!!

Our wedding guests loved the cupcakes! We keep hearing how great they were! The staff at Cupcake Downsouth was awesome to work with as well. Highly recommend using them to make your wedding dessert!

We visit Cupcake every time we're in Charleston, so we loved having their cake pops at our wedding. Maleia was great to work with and very responsive, from setting up our tasting (they let us try the cupcakes too!) to the super easy ordering process. The cake pops were such a hit that we (the bride and groom) didn't even get any! Highly recommended for weddings or a delicious dessert while wandering down King Street!

The cupcakes from Cupcake Downsouth were perfect for our wedding! We ordered a variety of minis and one flat mega to cut and it was all SO tasty! Everyone loved all of the cupcakes, definitely cant go wrong with the red velvet! They were so nice and helpful, and easy to communicate with being an out of town bride. They allowed for a free tasting, without an appointment and were super nice! They customized the cupcakes with our wedding colors and they cupcakes were all so pretty!! The gluten free cupcakes were also awesome!! Definitely recommend using Cupcake Downsouth for any cupcake needs!

Cupcake Downsouth was fantastic!! We reached out to Maleia and she was super responsive, helped with any questions I had, set up a taste testing, and was a constant support system throughout our wedding planning process. Everything was delivered perfectly and our guests couldn't get enough of the cupcakes. Highly recommend for a different, enjoyable, and wonderful dessert.

I have to say that cupcakes are one of the best ideas for a wedding. Everyone gets what flavor they want, and if any are left over, they get to take them home with them. Cupcake Downsouth was the perfect fit for our wedding. We talked through email, because we were so far apart (destination wedding), but that did not have a effect on the quality of service. When I would email, they would email right back, and try to accommodate everything that was asked. The cupcakes were delicious, and I think that most of the guest had more than one cupcake, once they tasted the first, they had to go back for more.

This place is perfect! My husband and I are not big into cake, nor can we agree on a flavor, so this was great! We were able to taste test at the Columbia location (where we live) and then order through the Charleston location (where we got married), which was super convenient. They delivered to our venue the day of for $50. We ordered 4 different flavor cupcakes, and one mega cupcake (6" round cake that we used for our cake cutting). Everyone loved the cupcakes-there were barely any leftovers! I can't wait to order a mega cupcake for our one-year-anniversary!!

Cupcake Downsouth is amazing! We met with them for a tasting and fell in love! They worked with us to find the perfect cupcakes,frosting, and sprinkles to match our wedding colors and taste. Maleia is a joy to work with and she makes sure every detail is covered! Every single cupcake was gone at the end of the night and the mini cupcakes are perfect for the kids!

Working with Maleia was a pleasure. She was always prompt with her responses and gave helpful advice. And the cupcakes are to die for! We did a mix of flavors and sizes but my favorite has to be the salted caramel! Delicious!

Maleia was an absolute joy to work with while planning my wedding. She never hesitated to answer my 5,000 questions that I had throughout the planning process. Additionally, while visiting Charleston to do the taste testing, she and the other girls in the store greeted and treated us with such professionalism and respect. I highly recommend Cupcakes Downsouth for any occasion. Not to mention, their cupcakes are to die for!!!

Everyone LOVED the cupcakes!!!! We were certain from the start that CUPCAKE would be the choice for our daughter's fall wedding. Since she was a student at C of C- cupcake has become one of our Charleston Traditions. There were cupcakes as part of all of our family visists and important celebrations, so this would certainly be no different!
Our family and friends from near and far were happy with our choice- and the Jumbo cupcake for the cutting ceremony made our new son in law a red velvet believer too! His personal favorite was the vanilla cake with dark chocolate icing, which was also represented in our selections.

The choice of cupcakes over a wedding cake, for us, was a choice of dessert preference...we both love cupcakes! However, working with Maleia Markgraf at Cupcake Down South was truly a pleasure! Maleia made sure that we had all the information needed to make our decisions (i.e. appropriate number of cupcakes to guests, flavors, pricing, display rental, etc.). The display was beautiful and we got so many compliments on how yummy the cupcakes were! We ordered 360 mini cupcakes (and a mega-cupcake for the cake cutting), and I believe we only took home about 20...just enough to save for our first anniversary.

We absolutely made the right choice...cupcakes over a wedding cake! Thank you Maleia and Cupcake Down South! You added a special touch to our wedding reception.

We made the decision to go with Cupcake instead of a traditional cake because we live in Charleston and absolutely LOVE their cupcakes! We have ordered from them before, but not in the quantity we ordered for the wedding. They were absolutely wonderful and flexible with the delivery. Everything turned out great and my family was even arguing about who got to take home the extras. We love Cupcake!

Overall, Cupcake Downsouth was wonderful to work with! We had a small snag with the delivery charge for our order, but they were very responsive and professional in dealing with the issue right away.

We ordered 5 dozen mini cupcakes for our "rehearsal" dinner and had them delivered to the beach house where our wedding festivities took place. The order arrived correct, on-time, and everything was DELICIOUS! We had no leftovers! The giant red velvet cupcake we used for our "cake cutting" was so cute and a huge hit!

As someone who can't eat eggs or dairy, I was delighted to find out they had vegan cupcakes available! My guests told me they couldn't tell the difference between the vegan option and the rest of the cupcakes choices.

With reasonable prices, great service, and great tasting cupcakes, I highly recommend using Cupcake Downsouth for your next event!

Cupcakes down south was the most patient and professional company I've worked with. My wedding was amazing and the cupcakes were perfect. I really let cupcakes down south guide me in terms of flavors and the very cool arrangement they set up at the restaurant. My husband is gluten-free so all of our cupcakes for gluten-free which was an added bonus.

Cupcakes were great. They were delivered to site for a small fee. They allowed us to do a free tasting. Then they allow you to pick flavors from that season. There were plenty of flavors to pick from. They were very helpful from the minute I contacted them to the day of my wedding.

Cupcake Down South did an amazing job with cupcakes for my reception. We were allowed to go to their store to do a free tasting. We were not disappointed. Everything we tasted was wonderful. I worked with Maleia Markgraf to place my order. She made it all so easy. Pick my flavors, tell her how many and done! They delivered the cupcakes to my reception venue on time. All of our guest raved about how great the cupcakes were.

Everyone at my wedding said the cupcakes were amazing! I chose the mini ones and one mega one. The guest thought the mini ones were the perfect size and loved being able to try several different flavors. The mega one looked beatiful on top of all the minis. I was extremely happy & completely satisfied!

Rather than having a traditional wedding cake, my husband and I chose to have cupcakes at our relatively small wedding. The cupcakes were amazing! We tried several different bakeries in Charleston, but always kept coming back to our first choice, Cupcake. We had red velvet cupcakes, among a selection of the seasonal choices, and they were so delicious! I highly recommend Cupcake for your wedding or just to satisfy a sweet tooth! :-)

Soooooo good. We looked forward to the cupcakes as much as we did the actual ceremony, and the wait was worth it. We opted for a variety of the day's flavors for our special day. For the extra charge, we had the cupcakes delivered, which were delivered on time.

We ordered our wedding cupcakes from Cupcake Downsouth and our experience was great! All of the staff worked so hard with us to complete our order and keep with our budget. The cupcakes were such a big hit with all of our guests, they especially loved that there were so many flavors to choose from instead of just one kind of wedding cake. We ordered one of the mega cupcakes to act as the "top of our cake" that my husband and I cut, and it worked out perfectly. For a small fee the cupcakes were delivered to our venue for us and we didn't have to worry about anything. I would recommend Cupcake Downsouth to anyone for your wedding day!!

Maleia was great to work with in setting up cupcakes for our wedding. She was very responsive which was helpful since I didn't live in the area. I was able to choose any of the 9 cupcake flavors that were available the day of your wedding, plus 1 other flavor from any other day. I'd recommend using them, they cupcakes are amazing!

The cupcakes were delicious!! I absolutely LOVE the icing. They are very pretty as well! We mixed the styles of cupcakes we had (red velvet, black bottom, salted caramel, bourbon pecan, key lime)- we kept them the way they originally are decorated, but you are able to have them all white iced or whatever color you want to match your wedding. My only complaint is that they gave us the wrong top cake. We wanted black bottom and they gave us red velvet instead. Overall- the cupcakes were very pretty and delicious!

I really enjoyed planning our dessert selection, especially since Cupcake has so many fun flavors! Maleia was lovely to work with, and very responsive. No problems with service or quality! I do wish there weren't restrictions on which flavors can be ordered for special events, but that is understandable. Delivery and special requests can also be very pricey, so just be mindful of that. Overall, everyone really loved our cupcakes (lemon blueberry, strawberry waffle, and gluten free minis)!

The cupcakes were perfect, the packaging was nice enough to use as a display and the flavor and quality of the cupcakes were great. There were none left over because our guests liked them so much.

Yum!! Cupcake of Charleston, SC delivered (literally) hundreds of cupcakes and cakepops to our wedding in October 2012. The cupcakes replaced a more traditional wedding cake, and were the rave of the wedding! We were able to select the flavors, icing, and even the colored sprinkles on top. Cupcake delivered the cupcakes directly to our venue and set them up in a beautiful display. They even coordinated with our florist to decorate the stand. Delicious!

The cupcakes were delicious and beautiful! Everyone loved them. It would have been nice if the $40 delivery fee included set up. And a discount for such a large order would have been nice too... something like order 10 dozen and get a dozen free.

Great tasting cupcakes!

We hired Cupcakes Downsouth for our cupcakes display to supplement our "cheese" cake. After months of planning, the day finally came and the cupcakes arrived and were both beautiful and delicious! We ordered three flavors: Key Lime, Salted Caramel Chocolate, and Traditional Vanilla, and my guests are still talking about them, especially the Key Lime!

Cupcake DownSouth did a wonderful job with our wedding cupcakes. Everything came out looking and tasting delicious. Although they have a few locations around town, the Mount Pleasant location is where all deliveries are handled. We chose them in part because they deliver on Sundays, which many other bakeries around town do not do or aren't even open to deliver. The cupcakes were delivered on time and everything went very smoothly on the wedding day. On occasion we had to wait a couple of business days for a reply to emails, which was our primary source of communication as out-of-towners. This did not impact their willingness to work with us, however, which was greatly appreciated. We would recommend Cupcake DownSouth to anyone planning a wedding in Charleston.

Instead of a large wedding cake, my husband and I opted to serve mini cupcakes at each table after the meals were cleared.

Cupcake is one of our favorite stores in Charleston. My family lives there, and upon my husband's first visit to meet them and the city, we went to Cupcake after lunch. It was in the car afterwards, gorging on cupcakes in a decadent silence, that my then boyfriend turned to me, mouth full of Turtle frosting, and said, "I love you, I never want to leave this place!". So when it came time to talk about cake, we knew Cupcake was IT.

We ordered a few hundred mini-cupcakes so each guest had a few. The choices were limited (in the mini-variety) I imagine for logistical reasons. It was slightly disappointing because their best flavors were not a part of the mini options. We were allowed to choose how we wanted them decorated (small choice, but still grateful for it). They were delicious and I would do it over again tomorrow if I could.

The only other downside is that Cupcake doesn't deliver to your venue, and most caterers will not extend you the luxury of arranging their pickup. Something to consider if you don't have many friends or relatives Downtown the day of your wedding willing to help.
