Miracle Worker
Crystal was very professional and easy to work with. She was early for the appointment and came prepared with all of her supplies. I did not have a run through of makeup and hair before my wedding so we discussed my vision and some pictures (we had already shared these and spoken about this over the phone) and she worked her magic. My hair was a little on the short side and she worked some magic to get my hair how I had envisioned. My makeup was exquisite and exactly how I imagined. She finished on time and packed up her supplies and was on her way. Hands down great experience. -

Crystal and her team were AMAZING! They took great care of me and all of my girls, including two adorable flower girls! We all felt so pretty and couldn't have asked for a better team to make us look our absolute best for my wedding. Crystal is one of the best vendors I have ever worked with for any event. Being that this was my wedding, "glam" was one of the most important aspects of the whole thing for me! With a total of 16 women to do hair and makeup on, Crystal and her team made my vision for my bridesmaids come to life. Crystal made me look and feel beautiful for my big day!! I initially had another person set up for hair and makeup, but they made last minute changes to our pricing and contract so I ended up having to look for someone else to do hair and makeup about a month before the wedding! Crystal was so wonderful and understanding when I reached out to her and guaranteed she would be able to make it work. Her team was early and quick, and got myself and my bridesmaids, mother, and MIL looking great in no time! I highly recommend Crystal Nix Beauty! -

Darby Sent on 08/29/2018Crystal really is one of my favorite parts of my wedding experience. I had a nice, warm conversation with her when I was deciding on my MUA and it just all seemed to click. She was so accommodating with my timeline. As I wasn't going to be in town long enough to have a trial, I asked if she could come on the Friday before my wedding for my "trial". So that way, I would also then be made up for my boudoir shoot and rehearsal dinner that day. She was very responsive to all communication and prompt with all timings. We had a blast just playing around on the Friday for my shoot and Saturday her and her assistant did an AMAZING job on not only me, but my MOH, MOB and MOG. We all looked like the best versions of us. My makeup on Friday started to show my pores a little by the end of the night and as soon as I told Crystal this on Saturday, she knew exactly what to do differently in order for that not to happen again. My makeup was literally perfect from start to finish on my wedding day...including through the rain! I didn't have any real ideal hair or make-up pictures in my head like I know a lot of women do, but Crystal just went with what she felt best and it was perfection! I highly recommend Crystal Nix Beauty. -

I received so many compliments that day. Everyone looked stunning and crystal is very friendly and nice to work with. They also come to you wedding day which is SO helpful. I had a great experience overall and am happy with the value of the services provided :) -

I reached out to her for hair and makeup services after my original makeup artist backed out on me with only 6 weeks to the wedding, and Crystal totally came through for me! Her services are really reasonably priced for what I found in the same area, and she works with some contractors, so was able to bring in another great hair stylist (Julie) to work on my bridesmaids' hair while she worked on my hair and makeup, and my maid of honor's makeup. She got my "vision" immediately after a quick phone call and I was impressed with the trial we did together. She made perfect adjustments based on my feedback from the trial, and I felt SO gorgeous on the big day! My hair stayed up really well throughout several hours of dancing with just a few strays out of place. PLUS Crystal is such a sweetheart. My bridesmaids and I loved hanging out with her and chatting on the day. She is a great professional with wonderful skills and personality! You won't regret booking her!

Amy Sent on 03/06/2018As an operating room RN, I would say that I am fairly low maintenance with my beauty needs so when I got engaged, I had no idea where to find a good makeup artist and hair stylist. I looked around and came across Crystals webpage and was instantly impressed with her work and pleased with the decent pricing that she offered. Upon our first phone conversation, she made me feel at ease and confident that she would be able to provide me with the services that I needed. I had never had professional makeup/hair done until my engagement pictures back in October 2017 with Crystal and she was right on point with giving me something extremely natural with very minimal which is what I desired. I was very happy with the work she did back then and I honestly couldn't be any happier with the hair and makeup she did for me on my wedding day in February 2018. My hair was absolutely stunning and basically an exact replica of the picture I showed her on Pinterest and I am still in awe of how beautiful it looked! The makeup was also nicely done, extremely natural looking (as I had asked) and I got compliments on both the entire night! I also had Crystal and her team do hair/makeup for my bridal team, mothers of bride/groom and my flower girl and I thought that everyone looked absolutely gorgeous!! I would absolutely use Crystal again in the future and recommend her services and I honestly can't thank Crystal enough for her hard work and vision that she had for me on my special day. I am forever grateful:) -

Sarah Sent on 05/30/2018I first met Crystal while in another friends wedding, she was so great then that when I got engaged ( and had a HARD time finding the right make-up and hair team) I turned to her. Her prices were reasonable and she was very professional and amazing at her job. I loved my trail and it brought me at ease for the day of. Unfortunately, Crystal had a family emergency the week of my wedding, she tried her best to make it, but I insisted she stay with family. Crystal provided amazing substitutions for myself and my wedding party. They did a great job and overall we all enjoyed our hair and make-up. They were also QUICK and got all 4 of us ready way before game time. We missed Crystal, but during this tough time she still took amazing care of me and my bridal party. She had a game plan in place before she contacted me, checked on me during the day and really showed her commitment to her passion. I believe 100 % that any bride and bridal party will LOVE Cyrystal and her team. I sure did the 2 times I have used her.

Crystal did a great job with my hair and makeup along with my bridesmaids. I first had a call when trying to decide who to book, and one of the reasons I chose Crystal is because I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day and not look overdone or unrecognizable in my photos. She was flexible allowed me to schedule my hair and makeup trial the day of my engagement photos at my home where the photos were being taken. This was great because I am terrible at doing my own hair and she did the updo I wanted to trial for my day and then took it all out and quickly curled it. I was worried the curl wouldn’t stay since I have a lot of fine, long hair that usually takes about an hour to curl but it stayed the entire shoot which was great.
On the day of my wedding Crystal showed up on time with one assistance to do hair and make up on myself, four bridesmaids, and the MOB/MOG. We all felt beautiful and had a great time.
I only have two complaints. My Mom had her hair done by Crystal’s assistance and she hated it, she felt it made her look older. She didn’t want to speak up because they still have my Mother-in-Law to finish and didn’t want to delay the timeline, but I wasn’t going to have my mother feeling that way. I let Crystal know and she very immediately talked with my mom about what she didn’t like and quickly restyled and curled her hair which my mom was pleased with. I was happy with how she handled this situation. The second would be the communication. She took some time to respond to emails/text and my wedding planner had mentioned that she hadn’t heard from about 10 days before the wedding, but everything ended up working out. I felt beautiful and so did everyone else that Crystal and her assistance worked on. -

Crystal NEVER SHOWED UP after being paid in full and now we are FIGHTING to get back the full refund in the contract. DO NOT BOOK HER FOR YOUR WEDDING!
My sister got married Oct 26th 2019 and hired Crystal for hair and makeup.
Since she booked her pretty far in advance, there wasn't much need for communication, but the three times she did need to contact her to book her trial, confirm time for arrival, etc. Crystal was slow to respond. She had her trial a month before the wedding; Crystal was friendly and her hair and make-up looked stunning.
Crystal did ask for the final payment (which includes gratuity) a few days before the wedding, so she does make sure she gets paid even when she has double booked the wedding day and doesn't plan to show up!
So on the wedding day, I am matron of honor, but also wedding planner, so I have a schedule of when everyone should arrive and what needs to be done, which is now increased by the fact that we couldn't set up the decorations for the ceremony in advance due to rain. Everything was going smoothly until 30 MINUTES BEFORE SHE IS SUPPOSE TO ARRIVE the bride gets a text from someone claiming to be Crystal's sister saying that they found her passed out in her apartment that morning and had to rush her to the hospital. We understand she can't control being sick; however, we couldn't understand was what happened to her team? Our wedding was 3 hours away, shouldn't one of her team members have found her 2.5 hours before when they were supposed to leave and contacted us? This was VERY unprofessional. Now we had 2.5 hours to figure out how to get the bride and 8 other people's hair and make-up done....when most of us hadn't even brought make-up since it was supposed to be done for us! On TOP of everything else already scheduled to be done.
HOW CRYSTAL CAN LIVE WITH HERSELF AFTER DOING THIS PURPOSELY TO BRIDES ON A DAY THEY HAVE DREAMED OF FOR MONTHS IS BEYOND ME. She emailed a couple days after the wedding apologizing and said she would issue a full refund within 30 days from services not rendered as stated in the contract.
Now, it has been over 30 days with no refund and she doesn't respond to email, text or FB messages. So, we looked her up and come to find out there are now MULTIPLE reviews of brides with VERY similar stories. There is also a review from a girl who got married on the same day as our wedding. Crystal was double booked 3 hours away...unless she has a way to teleport, she was not ever planning to show up to at least one of the weddings. Maybe she was triple booked and some lucky girl actually had a hair and make-up artist!
I am hoping this message will save other brides from the stress and trouble that my sister was put through. Instead of having a stress free wedding day after all the hard work we put in, she was in tears trying to figure out her hair and makeup . Thank God we have cousins in those industries who saved the day. And thank God for magically giving me and the other bridesmaids hair and make-up skills for each other that we do not actually have. We will forever not have the pictures that she wanted and the photographer was paid for and there to take. And now, even AFTER the wedding, she is STILL dealing with this since there has been no refund and no communication.

DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT use Crystal Nix Beauty for your hair and makeup!!!!
I got married Oct 26th 2019 and I hired Crystal for my hair and makeup. I did not have any doubts about her and when I spoke with her she was friendly and knowledgeable. I found her on wedding wire and looked at her reviews and they all seemed to be great reviews so no red flags were raised. She was the only vendor I booked not through my venue.
I booked her pretty far in advance so I didn't talk to her much until about 3-4 months before the wedding when I asked her to add another person to the list. It took her a couple days to respond but I just took that as her being busy because of other weddings. A couple days later I messaged her again to set up my trial and again it took her a while to answer and this time I had to send another message for her to finally respond and set something up. I had my trial a month before the wedding and she was friendly and everything went great and I was really excited about it.
About a week and a half before the wedding I reached out to her to get a timeline of when she thought her and her team (3 other assistants were promised) would arrive, etc. She again took days to respond and I had to message her again to get her to FINALLY send it two days before the wedding along with her asking for the final payment (which includes gratuity). So, as you can tell by now, communication is not very good or professional.
So my wedding day arrives and everything is great. All my vendors are arriving, nothing seems wrong, no one is late....then 30 MINUTES BEFORE SHE IS SUPPOSE TO ARRIVE I get a text from someone claiming to be her sister saying that they found her passed out in her apartment that morning and had to rush her to the hospital. Now I am not a heartless human, this is something that she cannot control if she is sick. However, to only message me 30 minutes before you're suppose to arrive at 11:30a when the venue was 3 hours away from where you live so you and your team should have been leaving at least 2.5 hours before that message was sent to me, is CRAZY to me. One of your team members could have reached out to me letting me know WAY SOONER so that we would have had more time to figure it out. This was VERY unprofessional in my opinion and I also didn't understand why the 3 other girls couldn't have continued down to do our hair and makeup. Since that didn't happen, I only had 2.5 hours to figure out how, to not only get my hair and makeup done, but also my 6 bridesmaids and both our mothers done. We ended up missing the pictures we were suppose to have gotten before the wedding and now I will forever not have those moments. She emailed me a couple days after my wedding saying she is sorry she just got released from the hospital and had the flu and Pneumonia and that she will be issuing me a full refund within 30 days from services not rendered as stated in the contract. Great, sounds good.
Fast forward to today. It has been over 30 days since my wedding and I have YET to receive my refund. Not only that but I have sent multiple emails and texts and Facebook messages asking her about it and have not received ONE SINGLE RESPONSE. So as you can imagine now I am a little skeptical and worried so off to google search I go. Come to find out there are now MULTIPLE reviews from Sept-Oct of this year of brides with VERY similar stories and I also found multiple reviews from previous years of very similar stories, some of the stories even matching one another.....and then, the icing on the cake....I find the EXACT same story as mine from a year ago and that Crystal had LIED about being sick. Most of the reviews have the same sentiment, that they later found out that whatever Crystal had told them or whatever excuse she had given was a LIE. I also find a review from a girl who got married on the same day as me. Crystal not only didn't show up for her wedding as well BUT she also didn't even bother to contact her....this also means that this girl and I were double booked.
I am hoping this message will save other brides from the stress and trouble that I have been through. Instead of having a stress free wedding day I was in tears trying to figure out my hair and makeup (thank GOD for my cousins who saved the day) and I will forever not have the pictures that I wanted because of the lack of communication and her and her team not showing up. And now, even AFTER my wedding when my husband and I should be in new marriage bliss, we are instead having to deal with this. I will now have to take her to small claims court for breach of contract (which seems to be a pattern and something a lot of her other brides that just got married are also doing) and continue to have to deal with this mess.

This review is over a year in the making, with several factors coming together to make me feel like it is time to voice my absolute disgust with this woman being in the wedding industry. In the beginning, over a year ago, what I thought was an honest, out of her control scenario turned out to be an echo of so many of these negative reviews below.
My wedding was Sept 29, 2018 in Carl, GA. Crystal and her team were over an hour and a half late to my wedding due to a car accident they were involved in. At the time I was so care-free and didn't want to have any stress on the morning of my wedding, so I was super understanding and did not feel upset about their tardiness. Especially because I knew being in a car accident was out of their control. However once I read all of these other reviews on multiple websites, I saw one that literally said she LIED about being in a car accident on that brides wedding day.
Seriously? How many "car accidents" has she been in? Not only did this accident make our day so behind, we had to pay all the vendors over $1,000 extra to extend all of their time so we could fit everything into our day, with no refund of any sort on Crystals end. Again, it wasn't until I read all the similar stories that I realized this wasn't just a one-time fluke, but that she has done this to so many other brides as well.
Cut to this weekend. One of my best friends got married this Sat. Nov 16th, 2019. She expressed her concern that her makeup/hair artist had been really difficult to get ahold of as she had tried to schedule her trial appointment, was extremely pushy for money, and that she had been seeing all of these recent negative reviews coming up on multiple websites. That's when I realized she had hired Crystal.
For two days before the wedding, at her trial (that she finally got done the day before the wedding), and on her special day she was SO stressed.
There were 10 of us getting hair & makeup. She has multiple receipts on multiple occasion that show that she told Crystal how many people needed services done.
Crystal said she was worried about time and wanted us to start at our friends house at 8am, even though we didn't have to be ready until 1PM. We were super worried she was gonna pull a "done in 2 hours because I double booked" scenario, but it was the complete opposite. Crystal brought just 1 hair stylist and herself to do makeup. They started at 8AM and didn't finish until past 2:30PM, making pictures rushed and everything so behind (thank God for the photogs who got us back on track).
The real kicker? By 1PM Crystal's "team" still had 3 bridesmaids & MOB to do. So I ended up doing one of the bridesmaids makeup in the other room so we could get done. We didn't want it to be a big deal for our bride, so this said bridesmaid just paid the full $90, even though Crystal didn't even touch her face. Absolutely unacceptable.
I am a wedding photographer myself, I have seen her name brought up on many Photography Facebook groups stating her no showing, lying, being late & more (for other photographers brides). I take pride in my service and loyalty to my brides on the most important day of their life. Brides need so much help planning their big day, and websites like The Knot and Wedding Wire are here to make it all easier for them and involve them in a community with other brides to share their experiences. I hope that Crystal stops involving herself with the wedding industry, these brides deserve better. -

DO NOT HIRE. Please save yourself the pain and money that I have given and visit Crystal’s Facebook page to read more recent & accurate reviews. Crystal exhibited poor communication after booking & instead of trusting my gut I chalked it go to being an overthinking bride. I should have trusted my instincts. Crystal did not show up at all. Let that sink in. She did not show up on my wedding day to fulfill her contract. Nor did anyone from the “team” that was paid to accompany her but she certainly made sure to reach out repeatedly the night before for final payment. Please read the Facebook reviews. I am not the only bride this has happened to in recent weeks and I would never want anyone else to have a second of their special day tarnished because like me, they trusted the reviews and awards posted on this page. -

Crystal has been trying VERY hard to take down all reviews involved with Oct 5th weddingS. So hopefully you all see this. I say “weddingS” because she DOUBLE BOOKED two weddings on our special day. She then LIED ABOUT BEING IN A CAR ACCIDENT to try to get out of it. As the groom, all I heard from my end was the stress and anxiety my bride had to deal with. She arrived 3 HOURS LATE and didn’t even do my bride’s hair and makeup. Her team was 1.5 hours late. She told us at 12:30 she had been in a car accident, however we were contacted by the Bride of her first wedding and told otherwise. She rushed that bride’s wedding and was on her phone the whole time fielding our calls and looking at Google Maps. She did not leave her place (2 hours from our venue) until 12. She was SUPPOSED to be at our wedding at 11:30. She charges you upfront and includes a tip. We have been trying to reach her, but she refuses to answer. DO NOT BOOK Crystal Nix Beauty. -

To summarize the below review. Crystal Nix NEVER. SHOWED. UP. to my wedding.
After booking Crystal, she became horrible unresponsive. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, my planners and I all pleaded with her to communicate with us. We finally heard from her the Tuesday of wedding week where she shared a ridiculous beauty schedule (I now realize from other reviews this is probably because she was double booked) and my final invoice. I paid it immediately and requested some tweaks to the schedule. We NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN.
If you don’t want to be left wondering, worrying, stressing and scrambling to find new artists less than 48 hours before your wedding as your family is arriving in town, then do not book Crystal Nix. I just hope she finally reimburses me before legal action has to be taken for breach of contract.
Luckily I had amazing coordinators that took charge and found a more talented, kinder group of artists that worked within our wedding day timeline, made us feel great and we had a blast getting ready. Silver linings, I guess!
If the above isn’t enough, Crystal’s lack of response to the below plea I both emailed and texted her ONE DAY before the wedding should speak to her character. Do you really want to work with someone like that? Hopefully she’ll do all brides a favor and get out of the wedding business.
“Crystal, I'm not sure what you have going on in your life to cause your lack of response and consideration of others. I'm sure it is a lot and difficult, and I'm sorry for whatever you may be going through. But no matter what, it does not excuse your treatment of me in what is supposed to be one time in my life to feel cared for and special.
You've caused stress, worry and anger. You've stolen time with my family, sleep and excitement. You've given me something to have to deal with last minute instead of gliding into my wedding day. You've disappointed 9 women and a bride that looked forward to your talent of making us feel our best.
Please find it in your heart to, at a minimum, respond today with how you will be alleviating this situation in order to give peace of mind so we may all move forward.”
Good luck to anyone that does not pay attention to the poor reviews.

I have been a bride myself and a bridesmaid In several wedding and have never had such a horrible experience. Crystal was rude, rushed and clearly disorganized. As a bridesmaid I could care less what I look like but when she rushed through the brides hair and makeup and kept leaving the room to answer the phone (come to find out for another wedding she committed to THE SAME DAY) that was too far. This is the brides special day and she started the day off on a horrible note. Although her staff and assistants were super sweet and nice I would NEVER waist my money on her services again. It’s now obvious why she makes her clients pay ahead (plus gratuity) because her work is NOT worth it. Brides be cautious.
