Beautiful photos from multi cultural micro wedding and large reception

We had the pleasure of working with Craig at Craig Paulson studio for our engagement shoot, our micro wedding, and our large reception. We are so thrilled with the photos that Craig took for all of our events, as well as our experience working with him. His years of experience in the industry were very helpful when we were planning out the timing and events of our large celebration. He was very accommodating when we had to postpone our event multiple times due to the pandemic. He did a great job capturing the intimate moments from our micro wedding, as well as the excitement from our 200+ person reception. We feel lucky to have incredible shots in both New York City for our engagement shoot and micro wedding, and at a more rural setting for our large reception with beautiful fall foliage. We had second shooters who worked with Craig for all of our events, and they took amazing photos as well.

Our wedding was a multi-cultural, Indian and American fusion wedding. It was important to us to have a photographer who had experience shooting at both types of events, and Craig has substantial experience with both. He took beautiful photos of the elements from both of our cultures. He did an especially great job shooting our Baraat, capturing all of the dancing and fun.

Our final photos are beautifully curated and edited. We have incredible portraits, and really special candid moments captured. We are so happy with the pictures and the memories that are forever commemorated with them.

Beautiful photojournalism-style photos

Really cool guy, easy to talk to and plan logistics. Beautiful photography. Made us feel very comfortable. Captured our love beautifully!!! Will never forget our photoshoot and always smile when I look back at the photos of my family dancing like crazy :) Got a better price due to off season (late January) wedding!

Craig and his team are the absolute best! We had Craig and Lorraine all day at our wedding and they were amazing. They captured every shot that we wanted perfectly (even with a challenging 40 person wedding party) and we love our album. They were so easy to work with and responsive leading up to the wedding, on the day of, and when putting together our albums. We would definitely use them again for future events and can't recommend them enough for anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

We learned of Craig Paulson and Kim Espinosa through our friends after seeing our candid photos from their wedding. Kim and Haim were a pleasure - they were creative, hardworking, on top of checklists and their offices had great communication throughout the entire process. They moved seamlessly throughout the wedding taking beautiful pictures of our us and our guests. They were sincere, funny and became part of the party. We were so happy to work with them and now we will have these beautiful pictures to remind us of our day.

AMAZING. hire them. The fastest responses of any of my vendors, so lovely, polite, professional. I seriously forgot they were there. Sadly, we did not know about Craig when we got married BUT luckily we do now and have used him every year since our 12 year old daughter was born for family Christmas photos. Not only are the pictures fabulous (sometimes we have trouble selecting which pictures to include) but after receiving our card, many families/friends comment how much they love our card and look forward to it every year. If you want a unique, non-studio portrait experience, this is your photographer. This could be the start of a life-long relationship!

Best choice in the entire process of planning a wedding. Craig and his team were amazing and so wonderful to work with. From the first meeting, i felt comfortable with Craig and his team for our wedding photographers. They were professional, got great photos, and also delivered everything so much faster than I anticipated! He was the first vendor that we booked, and I couldn't have been happier!

Review update post wedding: Wow, again Kim @ Craig Paulson Photography did a phenomenal job shooting my wedding. Professional, non invasive, artistic, comfortable, experienced work that allows you to sit back and relax on your day. The photos I've seen so far are incredible. Cannot wait to see the rest! Planning a wedding across country has come with its challenges, especially choosing a photographer. After scouring the web and talking to several photography studios, I was fortunate enough to find Kim at Craig Paulson Studio. She spent time telling me exactly how she would conduct and organize photography for my wedding day. Her confidence and passion were reassuring and refreshing, after speaking to several other vendors. I could tell instantly Kim was top notch- a true professional and talent! She made all my worries subside and made me excited about planning the photography with her across country! Recently my fiancé and I had our engagement shoot with Kim and Caleb. All I can say is WOW. People look at the photos and say they should be in magazines or that they must be out of a movie. All my fiancé and I had to do though was show up! Kim had a vision for the entire shoot- poses, locations, lighting, cameras, sunlight, etc. the shoot was effortless for my fiancé and I and the pictures are a work of art. I am in awe! Everyone tells me they are the best engagement photos they've seen- and I agree. Kim and Caleb worked their magic and I cannot wait to have them do the same on my Wedding day. If you have the chance- book them. You will NOT be disappointed. They will exceed any and all expectations possible!

Where do I even begin.... Craig and his team did both the photography and videography for my wedding. I came to Craig through a friend who had her wedding photos taken by him. When I saw her photos, I had tears in my eyes. At first I thought it was because I had tears for my friend, but I knew it was more than that. Craig really captured her day. And he went above and beyond for mine. Our top 100 brought tears to my whole family's eyes. From the time I met Craig, to the time he said goodbye to us the night of, he made sure to hit every detail we were looking for. I simply cannot speak more highly of Craig and his awesome team. We cannot wait to put our albums together and see our photobooth photos!

We had a great experience with Craig Paulson Photography, start to finish. Kim was incredibly helpful in coordinating things -- and super-friendly and responsive, via email *or* phone -- and Courtney did a fantastic job photographing our wedding. She really listened to what we wanted and did a wonderful job walking the line between being really easy and fun to hang out with for the day, and going unnoticed to capture candid moments and let us just enjoy our day without feeling like we were in the photographic spotlight. Photo quality was awesome.

I booked Craig the day after we got engaged, a year and a half in advance! Craig photographed my sister in laws wedding. After watching him in action and seeing her amazing wedding photos, I know he was a must for my wedding! Leading up to our wedding Craig and Kim were always available to answer any questions I had via phone or email. About a month before my wedding Craig called me personally to discuss the timeline and details for the big day. As my day approached the weather promised a tropical rain storm. Craig worked with me on ideas about how we could make the most of the photos in the weather. On my wedding day Craig and Kim were extremely professional and personable. We all braved the rain and went outside for all of our pictures, with rain boots and umbrellas! My pictures turned out amazing. When it was time to pick them up I met with Craig and Kim and went through each picture with them! After leaving the studio Kim emailed me making sure I understood the ordering process. I ordered my thank you notes through the studio, with Kim's amazing responsiveness the process took a day! I am also working with The studios album company, The Album Room and have had an amazing experience with them as well! I cannot say enough about Craig Paulson Photography!!!

Craig and his whole team were absolutely fantastic. They were a calming, cheerful, professional presence throughout the weekend, and the pictures are gorgeous. The mix of wide, incredible landscape-type shots, and then really beautiful close-ups of our guests means we have such wonderful photos of our wedding.

I hired Craig Paulson Photography after my mom's friend used them for their own wedding and I was oohing and ahhing over every shot. We called and literally hired Courtney the same day. Courtney and her second shooter Nicole were with us for 10 hours! (we paid for 2 hours of overtime and I am so glad we did) They were with both my husband and I while we were getting ready with our wedding parties seperately through the last dance of the night, where I got one of our favorite pictures of the two of us. Courtney was able to capture so many photos that you had no idea she was there for and they really make me remember my day all over. I don't even regret not hiring a videographer because the girls seem to have gotten it all. Even with a tornado warning in NYC on the day of my wedding, they were both flexible and able to come up with creative wedding shots to do at the reception venue when it was raining and we could not go to central park. Courtney was great to work with all the way up to the wedding and after the fact. She has been holding my hand every step of the way! Another note about Craig Paulson Photography as a whole, this is a great photography pacakge. We all know that photography is usually the most expensive part of a wedding, but with them you get every photo printed! Along with multiple disks (one low res and one high res) of every picture taken and 2 albums! Its a great deal and I can't recommend them enough!

I used Courtney and her assistant Michael. They were amazing, even a few,minutes early to our houses. They made sure we got all the photos we needed and still were shooting all the candids and detail shots I loved on their portfolio sites.

Only issue and this was on me more than them was the timing was running latn and still had to cut the cake. They didjdjd did ask if we wanted to stop right then and take pics and they would leave or pay overtime. Husband chose overtime but forgot to ask how much. So advice is if your in budget you should just plan a little better than we did, and just take pic in timeframe.

But as for courtney and Michael, I can't imagine better photographers and highly recommend.

I am so happy that we chose Craig Paulson to take our wedding photos!! He and his studio are incredibly easy to work with, and every time I look through the images from the wedding I can feel the lively energy and lovely spirit of the night coursing through them. From the Engagement Shoot (in cold January rain) through the extended wedding night festivities, Craig and his team remained likable and professional. As a bride, I was very excited to have such a spunky and talented photographer to document the special moments of our wedding.

Absolutely loved Jean (and Val!) from Craig Paulson Photography. Jean was incredibly helpful, professional and responsive from the first time we inquired for general information. She was extremely patient during our first meeting and impressed us with her calm demeanor - something I knew would be appreciated on the day of the wedding. I was definitely right! Jean and Val were a pleasure to have around...although there were large portions of the night that I didn't even notice them...however, they managed to capture the event perfectly. It's amazing how many wonderful shots they got - the essence of our party really comes through in the photos. We really stressed that we were looking for a lot of candid shots where you could see the emotion of the day - Jean and Val accomplished that and then some. I (and my whole family) could not be happier. I recommend Craig Paulson Photography (and especially Jean) without hesitation.

We could not have been happier with Craig and his team! The day of our wedding, they were so great! They were a very calming presence. They were not all in our faces during the ceremony and reception- they blended into the background and yet somehow did not miss a single important shot! They are amazing with kids too and were able to get 6 little kids smiling and looking at the camera in the same photo which was quite a feat! And the pictures are incredible- not typical wedding pictures- a million times better, pieces of art! We would wholeheartedly recommend Craig to anyone planning a wedding who wants great pictures.

Jean was my photographer and she was amazing. I picked Craig Paulson because I loved the artistic, photojournalistic style, and I loved them so much that I traveled Jean and Tanya up to Burlington, VT for the wedding. Jean is incredibly talented, responds to emails in 30 seconds or less, and managed to get the most unbelievable shots during the wedding, without the guests or I ever feeling like she was in the way. She was a joy to work with throughout the entire experience. I knew that Jean would capture the wedding spirit, and she did that and more.

I simply cannot say enough about my wedding photos. Jean Spencer and her team were beyond amazing. Never once did I feel like there were even photographers at the wedding. She was able to catch the essence of the day which have made for the best memories. We had a hard time picking the photos for our album being that all the photos were spectacular. I would recommend them for any wedding or event. They were a pleasure to work with and will not disappoint.

Craig Paulson was the photographer for my sister's wedding, my best friend's wedding, my colleague's wedding and my own wedding AND we all agree that he did an AMAZING job! Craig really avoids all of the annoying typical wedding traditions. His approach is fresh and new yet classy! He really makes you feel comfortable and relaxed on your big day. He captures all of the important moments as well as the small details that really add up. Craig blends in beautifully with all of your guests and never creates a distraction. I highly recommend Craig for your special day!

I worked with Craig and his team for both our engagement shoot and wedding day. We were overjoyed with how our photos turned out and even more, Craig and his team were a blast to work with. Although Craig is based in NYC, he traveled to Washington DC for our wedding and was incredibly flexible to work with. We had a lot of fun with Craig on our wedding day, and got great pictures!

I started my search for my wedding photographer with only a few recommendations from friends as well as some that I had found at wedding websites such as this one. It was an overwhelming process as I had little knowledge of what a good photographer embodied as well as visually what I ultimately wanted. I did multiple interviews with photographers, their teams, emails, phone calls etc. Nothing seemed to click until I met Craig and his team. Craig took time to sit with me and my husband and I and talk about who he is, his process and pictures. We spent a lot of time talking about what my vision actually was and how to achieve it. He exudes confidence and warmth. His professionalism and likability shined through the day of. Craig (and his second shooter) managed to capture every moment without any or little direction. They were with us every step of the way and managed to pull us away at the right moments to capture the special night shots we wanted. He was truly a pleasure to work with and his talent shines through in our pictures. We are still having a tough time choosing the top 100. His teams, especially Kim, were also a pleasure to work with. Kim is very responsive and easy to work with. Without hesitation, we highly recommend Craig Paulson Photography for anyone looking for spectacular pictures and service.

I worked with Courtney Dudley at Craig Paulson and my husband and I loved her! Not only does she take fantastic photos, she really captured the energy of the wedding. My husband and I decided not to have a videographer which, after the wedding, wish we had done, however after seeing the photos from Courtney, we no longer wished we had the video! Courtney is great to work with, very easy going, and she is like a little ninja running around the party, no one saw her but she saw everything! Even when she saw guests taking photos of themselves she would run up to them and tell them she would take it. She almost anticipated when the photo opps came up. Craig Paulson Photography is a very professional group and all of those I dealt with were very responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend Courtney and the Craig Paulson group.

Craig is extremely talented and, almost more importantly, he is an incredibly nice, friendly person in a city of lots of a-holes! We were thrilled with our engagement photos and can't wait to see the wedding pics.

Craig and his team are extremely nice, and have great, very professional service. I spent a lot of time researching photographers, and chose Craig Paulson bc he was responsive, seemed really pleasant, and had a great book of reportage-style photography that we really liked. Our engagement photos turned out amazing. However, on the day-of the wedding I felt he was a bit rushed. Being strict about how many hours they were present rather than allowing time to capture a lot of the correct portraits, even after paying for an extra hour of service. He captured beautiful images of the ceremony and the reception in our wedding which was in a dark venue with tall ceilings. However, I really wasn't happy with the couple portraits, which it seemed there weren't many of at all. Most of the portraits captured city-scenes more than close-up portraits of us as a couple. Same went for the family portraits, which turned out dark in the location he chose and which were very rushed. Apart from the portraits, the more candid photos of the wedding itself were shot beautifully and we were happy with. They also offer great photo album services and a lot of options.
